  • Lamar Odom Shaken by Jamie Sangouthai’s Death, Khloe Kardashian Hopes It Serves as Wakeup Call

Lamar Odom has fought drug addiction off and on for years. His drug problems were the catalyst for his split from Khloe Kardashian. Now Lamar is dealing with the absolute darkest side of addiction. His best friend, Jamie Sangouthai, died in recent days of what was initially believed to be a heroin overdose. New reports say Sangouthai died of a flesh-eating disease caused by excessive drug use instead. Either way, Khloe Kardashian is hoping Jamie’s passing might serve as a wakeup call for Lamar.

Khloe was among the first to share her words of grief over the passing of the former Khloe & Lamar star.

Lamar Odom has yet to publicly express his shock and grief, but it is expected Jamie’s death is hitting him hard. Friends of Jamie Sangouthai have started a GoFundMe campaign to return his body to New York so his mother can have a proper funeral and burial for him.

Khloe Kardashian expressed her shock over Jamie Sangouthai’s untimely death on Sunday.

She is no doubt quite concerned over Lamar Odom’s reaction to this tragic news.

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star’s next Tweet appears like it might be directed at Lamar Odom. Is it possible he can learn and grow from his best friend’s tragedy? If so, then something positive might emerge from the death of his friend.

Lamar Odom was reportedly partying in Vegas when he received word that Jamie Sangouthai had died.

“When he found out Jamie died, he was devastated,” a source tells Us Weekly.

“He feels like it could have happened to him. This is a huge wakeup call for him. It has really shaken him,” the source adds.

Khloe Kardashian is praying the wakeup call hits Lamar Odom loud and clear.

  • Peaches Geldof Family Won’t Go Back Home Since Her Death

Peaches Geldof was only 25 years old when she died of a heroin overdose in her country home back in April. Since her death, her husband and sons have not returned to the home. It sits frozen in time, with abandoned toys and a baby stroller visible in the yard.

Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof-Cohen was the daughter of megastar singer Bob Geldof and television presenter Paula Yates. Yates had herself died from a heroin overdose when Peaches was only 11.

    Peaches once told Elle Magazine:

“I remember the day my mother died, and it’s still hard to talk about it. I just blocked it out. I went to school the next day because my father’s mentality was ‘keep calm and carry on’. So we all went to school and tried to act as if nothing had happened. But it had happened. I didn’t grieve. I didn’t cry at her funeral. I couldn’t express anything because I was just numb to it all. I didn’t start grieving for my mother properly until I was maybe 16.”

When Peaches died, journalists discovered that her final Tweet was to an Instagram picture of herself as a baby with her mother. The caption read: “Me and my mum.”

The next day Peaches was gone, just like her mother.

Bob Geldof’s charity work has given hope to millions. But he has said that he blames himself for Peaches’ death.

Peaches’ husband Tom Cohen and their two sons Astala, age two, and Phaedra, age one, are reportedly staying with his Cohen’s mother in London. Reports say that he has not returned to the home since he found his wife dead from a heroin overdose.

  • Lea Michele Talks Cory Monteith One Year Later

Lea Michele is remembering Cory Monteith today–the one-year anniversary of her boyfriend and former Glee costar’s untimely death. Monteith died from a heroin overdose in a Vancouver hotel room last July. The two had been dating for more than a year. Even though the actress and singer has started to move on, she will forever hold dear her treasured memories of time spent with Cory Monteith.

Lea and Cory starred opposite each other on Glee–she in her role as Rachel Berry and Cory as Finn Hudson–and were at one point a romantic couple on the show as well as in person.

Earlier on Sunday Lea Michele posted a touching tribute to Cory Monteith in the form of a tweet. It includes a photo of the young actor with a backdrop of a beautiful beach sunset.

Lea’s message was retweeted by former Glee costar Chris Colfer and thousands of followers and fans.

Several other Glee cast members also tweeted their tributes to Cory Monteith on Sunday.

Matthew Morrison had the following to say.

    Dot-Marie Jones posted two tweets.

Amber Patrice Riley shared the following message.

Jenna Ushkowitz posted a photo on Instagram in memory of Cory. Her caption reads, “365 days since you’ve gone and not a day passes we don’t remember your smiling face. We miss you buddy. Thanks to everyone for your love and support today while we remember our quarterback.”

Among the more poignant messages–sent via Twitter–came from Glee’s creator Ryan Murphy. Simple and understated, it spoke volumes.

While Cory Monteith’s family members and Lea Michele are no doubt feeling a much deeper level of grief over his passing a year ago, it’s plain to see that his costars are still feeling his loss, too. Perhaps after this first year of mourning many will find some closure in the aftermath of Cory’s tragic passing.

  • Peaches Geldof’s Home Broken Into After Death

Peaches Geldof shared a home with her rocker husband Thomas Cohen and her two children Astala, two, and Phaedra, one, at her Wrotham, Kent property.

Since her death on April 7, their home has been burglarized twice. The first theft took place less than a week after Cohen found his wife’s body. The only thing reported stolen then was a red lawn mower.

The house has been unoccupied since the tragic discovery, as Cohen says he cannot face staying there, making it an easy target for thieves. The second incident occurred on Friday, May 9, when police interjected a break-in and prevented anything from being stolen from the grounds; however CCTV equipment was damaged.

“Police are investigating a burglary at an address in Fairseat Lane, Wrotham, on 9 May,” a spokesperson for the Kent police department said in a statement. “Officers were at the address within five minutes and no personal items are believed to have been stolen. Additionally, in mid-April a lawnmower was reported to have been taken from the grounds.”

Sources say that Tom plans on selling the five-bedroom, million-pound, home to move closer to his parent’s home in south east London.

Peaches’ death was originally described as “unexplained and sudden,” but after reviewing autopsy results, it was determined that she had heroin in her system.

“It was obvious to him that she was deceased. She was located on the edge of a bed with one leg hanging down to the floor with the other leg tucked underneath her; she was slumped forward across the bed,” Detective Chief Inspector Paul Fotheringham said at the time. “Thomas called for his mother and they quickly located Phaedra and called the emergency services.” While the heroin is being considered to have played a part in her death, authorities said they did not find any drugs or drug paraphernalia at the scene.

Peaches’ father Bob Geldof issued a statement shortly after her death. “Peaches has died. We are beyond pain. She was the wildest, funniest, cleverest, wittiest and the most bonkers of all of us,” he said. “Writing “was” destroys me afresh. What a beautiful child. How is this possible that we will not see her again? How is that bearable? We loved her and will cherish her forever. How sad that sentence is. Tom and her sons Astala and Phaedra will always belong in our family, fractured so often, but never broken.”
