  • Heather Graham Powerhouse Working on Three Films, Video Game

Heather Graham is chiseling out her place on the Mt. Rushmore of Women of Hollywood lately. The actress turned heads on the red carpet at the Fandango Movieclips Comic-Con party in San Diego this week, wearing a slinky number that garnered comments galore.

Graham was at the event to back up her appearance in Black Ops 3: Zombie Mode, to which she lends vocal talent. Heather Graham is joined on the video game sound track by the likes of Neal McDonough, Jeff Goldblum and Ron Perlman.

But no one was talking about Ron Perlman’s figure on the red carpet. So let’s talk about what Heather Graham is doing besides just wearing dresses.

Graham is currently working on three film projects: Half Magic, My Dead Boyfriend, and Norm Of The North. Before that, she was in Neil LaBute’s play The Money Shot in New York. She’s a busy lady.

Half Magic is a sex comedy written, produced, and directed by Graham. She also stars in it as Honey, a woman who wants a man who can give her hot sex and is also a nice guy.

Half Magic also stars Johnny Knoxville, Thomas Lennon, and Molly Shannon.

For My Dead Boyfriend, Graham stars as “a woman discovers who her couch potato boyfriend really was after she finds him dead at home.” That film has John Corbett (My Big, Fat, Greek Wedding) joining Graham.

Finally, Heather Graham is also working on Norm of the North, an animated film that features her with the voice talents of Bill Nighy, Rob Schneider, Ken Jeong, and Colm Meaney. Schneider voices Norm in the film. He voices Norm all … night … long.

“Displaced from their Arctic home, a polar bear named Norm and his three lemming friends wind up in New York City, where Norm becomes the mascot of a corporation he soon learns is tied to the fate of his homeland.”

  • Heather Graham Writes Sexy Screenplay for Women

“…And you can find out more about what gets a woman off!”

In the same interview in which actress Heather Graham told Esquire that Hollywood is “totally sexist,” she announced plans for a film that focuses on the real sexuality of women.

“If you look at all the movies being made these days, eighty percent of them are about men,” Graham said.

“There’s not much I can do about it. It’s a sexist world and a sexist industry. But I’ve been very lucky as an actress, to work as much as I have and as consistently as I have. And when you don’t see the kind of stories out there that represent you, you have to make them yourself. I actually just wrote a script that I want to direct.”

The story focuses on sex from the “female point of view,” specifically women “who like having sex.”

“I don’t see anything in film about women who want to have sex,” the 44-year old Boogie Nights star said. “I don’t see myself and my friends represented. When do you ever get to see a movie from the point of view of a woman who’s more interested in having really great orgasms than finding a husband? I would say almost never.”

Graham hopes to not only direct the film, which is casting right now, but also star in it. The plan is to start shooting this summer.

In researching her screenplay, Graham turned to a real-life book called “Extended Massive Orgasm,” written by husband-wife duo Dr. Steve and Dr. Vera Bodansky.

The book claims to “show the beauty and power of the Extended Massive Orgasm,” taught by the duo who has “dedicated [their] lives to the study of sensuality and the power of orgasm.”

“To be honest, in this society, women are really nurturing, and we’re brought up to take care of other people,” Graham spoke of the book. “So we sometimes forget to ask ‘What feels good to me?’ or ‘What do I want?’ This book looks at sex in terms of what gets a woman off, as opposed to what gets a man off.

“But what actually gets a woman off? I think it’s worth exploring. I’m sure men really want to know. Why wouldn’t they? But it’s more mysterious. So these people wrote this book, going into depth about what’s involved.”

Graham has previously been seen in Swingers, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, and The Hangover. She is currently playing a reoccurring role in the last season of Showtime’s Californication starring David Duchovny.

  • Heather Graham Calls Hollywood Sexist

Heather Graham has made a name for herself playing sexy moms in films such as The Hangover, Petals on the Wind, and Judy Moody.

While Graham says she loves playing a mom on television, because she is not yet a mother, she says that being in the industry is hard because Hollywood is totally sexist.

“I’m not saying the movie business isn’t sexist. It’s totally sexist,” she told Esquire, during a recent interview. “If you look at all the movies being made these days, eighty percent of them are about men.”

“There’s not much I can do about it,” she added. “It’s a sexist world and a sexist industry.”

Graham explains that she focuses on the positives of her career to help cope with the gender frustrations. “I’ve been very lucky as an actress, to work as much as I have and as consistently as I have,” she continued. “And when you don’t see the kind of stories out there that represent you, you have to make them yourself. I actually just wrote a script that I want to direct.”

“I like to approach things the same in art as in life,” Graham explained. “You can choose to look on the positive side and enjoy whatever roles you’re given. You can find the silver lining in anything.”

Graham’s most recent project has been her recurring role in the seventh and final season of Californication. Her first episode aired on April 20 on Showtime. She plays the part of a dental hygienist and the mother of David Duchovny’s baby.

  • Heather Graham Hints About “Californication” Role

Heather Graham sat down for an interview recently on “Today” and talked a bit about her new role on Californication, saying she couldn’t come right out and talk about her character but could give us some hints.

“In the first episode they revealed that David (Duchovny, who plays Hank Moody on the show) has a son that he’s never known about….so I’m in the next episode,” she said.

The blonde bombshell also talked about her “nerd” status and said she was a geeky kid with neck gear, not unlike Joan Cusack’s character in 16 Candles. The image definitely doesn’t gel with what we know of Graham, who has played some of the sexiest characters on film throughout her career.

“I think when you grow up, how you see yourself as a teenager or a kid, you always kind of feel that way about yourself even though you think, ‘Oh it’s so cool that people see me in this other way’, you know inside that you’re just a big nerd,” she said.

The actress made headlines this week with an interview she did with Esquire in which she calls the movie industry sexist. The 44-year old actress says that although she’s happy to still be getting roles, she does recognize that the business leans heavily towards one side.

“It’s totally sexist. If you look at all the movies being made these days, eighty percent of them are about men,” she said. “There’s not much I can do about it. It’s a sexist world and a sexist industry. But I’ve been very lucky as an actress, to work as much as I have and as consistently as I have. And when you don’t see the kind of stories out there that represent you, you have to make them yourself.”

That said, it might come as a surprise to some that she’s chosen to accept a role on a show like Californication, where women are little more than pleasure centers for the main character. Still, she says, the “sexy mom” role is one she’ll take because she doesn’t get to be a mother in real life.

“I’m just glad to be working. I’m not actually a mom in real life, so it’s fun to pretend to be one. I like to approach things the same in art as in life. You can choose to look on the positive side and enjoy whatever roles you’re given. You can find the silver lining in anything.”

  • Heather Graham Says Hollywood is “Totally Sexist”

In a recent interview with Esquire magazine, Boogie Nights actress Heather Graham spoke out about the blatant sexism in Hollywood.

Appearing in the final season of Showtime’s Californication, Graham was asked about her recent bout of “sexy mother” roles and whether or not she feels typecast.

“I’m just glad to be working,” the 44-year old actress said. “I’m not actually a mom in real life, so it’s fun to pretend to be one. I like to approach things the same in art as in life. You can choose to look on the positive side and enjoy whatever roles you’re given. You can find the silver lining in anything.”

She then went on to add, “I’m not saying the movie business isn’t sexist. It’s totally sexist. If you look at all the movies being made these days, eighty percent of them are about men … It’s a sexist world and a sexist industry. But I’ve been very lucky as an actress, to work as much as I have and as consistently as I have.”

Though Graham is also known for her roles in films such as Swingers, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, and The Hangover, the topic of her role as a young rollerskating porn star in Boogie Nights always seems to arise – thus, bringing home the fact that Hollywood is, indeed, “totally sexist.”

But Graham told Esquire that the role of women in films is one of the reasons she wrote a script about sex from the female point of view.

“Specifically women who like having sex,” she said. “I don’t see anything in film about women who want to have sex. I don’t see myself and my friends represented. When do you ever get to see a movie from the point of view of a woman who’s more interested in having really great orgasms than finding a husband? I would say almost never.”

Graham’s screenplay was written with help from a book called Extended Massive Orgasm by Steve and Vera Bodansky.

“What actually gets a woman off?” Graham asked. “I think it’s worth exploring. I’m sure men really want to know. Why wouldn’t they? But it’s more mysterious. So these people wrote this book, going into depth about what’s involved.”

Graham can be seen in her recurring role on Californication which started last Sunday, April 20, at 9:30pm ET on Showtime.

  • ‘Flowers in the Attic’ Hits the Small Screen

The VC Andrews novel Flowers in the Attic came to life last night in Lifetime’s movie adaptation of the book. Starring Heather Graham and Kiernan Shipka, this adaptation is one that is likely worth watching.

For those who don’t know, Flowers in the Attic is an American gothic tale that touches on incest, child abuse, and dysfunctional family dynamics.

The movie and novel are narrated by a young Cathy Dollanger (played by Shipka,) who with her brother Christopher and younger twin siblings Cory and Carrie, live a privileged life with their mother Corinne (played by Graham) and father Christopher, Sr.

When Christopher, Sr. dies in a car crash, the family is left with nothing, and move in with Corinne’s mother, Olivia (played by Ellen Burstyn,) who hates the children. She locks them in the attic, leaving them to fend for themselves, except when she drops off the daily food and torment.

When days turn into years, the children become restless. The combination of hormones and boredom strike Cathy and Christopher, and one thing leads to another. Although the book describes it as a rape, the Lifetime movie holds back a bit on that. Bottom line is that brother and sister do something brothers and sisters aren’t supposed to do.

After years of abuse and neglect, the children realize they need to do something, or else they will be locked away forever.

Check out the official trailer for the movie:

Reviews regarding the movie vary. The Los Angeles Times described the movie as “sanitized” and “silly.” People magazine, however, says the movie is “crazy good.”

Here’s a sampling of what the Twittersphere thought:

This is the second time Flowers in the Attic has been turned into a movie version. The first time the novel hit the big screen was in 1987.

Lifetime has already begun working on the script for the second movie in the five-book series, entitled Petals in the Wind, which picks up where Flowers in the Attic left off.

  • ‘Flowers in the Attic’ Receives Highly Lauded Reviews, EP Michele Weiss Weighs In

It looks like the Lifetime network has done great justice with its film adaptation of the perversely creepy 1979 novel Flowers in the Attic.

According to People Magazine, the film adaptation and the novel are equally absurd, yet “psychologically coherent,” as both versions of the dark fairy tale contain the same substance and storyline.

The story is narrated by the character Cathy Dollanganger who is portrayed by Mad Men’s Kiernan Shipka. The narrative starts with Cathy, her brother, Christopher (Mason Dye), and their younger twin siblings, Cory and Carrie living a life of suburban contentment.

The children have a wonderful childhood with their strikingly attractive parents Christopher Sr. and Corrine, portrayed by Heather Graham.

However, the family’s life of happiness takes a devastating turn when their father is killed in a car accident. The bizarre turn of events happens so fast, it gives the illusion as though they’ve fallen under a curse.

Without the income of their father, their mother falls on financially hard times, as their lifestyle was secured with an installment plan. With no other choice, she turns to her estranged mother Olivia Foxworth, portrayed by Ellen Burstyn.

    (image)

As a last resort, she and her children relocate to the Foxworth mansion in Virginia. The children immediately grasp that they’re “not in Kansas anymore,” as their grandmother blatantly expresses her disdain from the moment they come in contact with her. They are immediately shipped off to an isolated wing of the house to live in the attic, and are ordered to follow a “Don’t List” that only allows breathing.

The children are left in isolation without their mother. Corrine spends the majority of her time under the stairs with her ailing father begging his forgiveness. However, you’ll have to watch the film to know what she seeks his reprieve for. The “why” factor, on the other hand, is relatively simple. She wants to be reinstated in his will, as a means of taking care of her children away from the clutches of her family.

Although she assures the children their stay will only last a few days. Unfortunately, days roll into years and the children are trapped in their desolate dwelling. As Cathy and Chris reach their teenage years, the tale which started out as a tale of a destroyed childhood, transforms into a whirlwind that tips the edge of insanity.

While the Lifetime visual is far less explicit than the original accounts of Andrews’ novel, it still maintains that eerie delusional fairy-tale enamor with a glint of evil, “doll-like” imagery.

The film’s executive producer Michele Weiss recently sat down in an exclusive interview with Hollywood Reporter to share her sentiments of the tale. As an avid lover of the Andrews’ Dollanganger Series, Weiss expressed the importance of “staying true to the book” with the film adaptation. “We tried to be very true to the plot of the book although we had to add some stuff in because it’s a movie, it’s all about action,” Weiss explained.

  • Heather Graham And The Difference Between Google And Bing

As we’ve reported on several times, Google has started cleaning up its Image Search experience, sometimes making results less relevant in the process. In fact, some other things that Google is doing these days make for a much more censored experience altogether. With regards to Image Search in particular, they made it harder to find adult content, even with SafeSearch turned off.

Bing, on the other hand, is not only not doing this, but it is going out of its way to suggest that you search for adult content on some popular searches. If you go to Bing’s image search without typing a specific query, it displays the top twenty trending image searches like so:

    Bing image search

Many of these, when clicked, come with some rather risque search suggestions. Number ten, Heather Graham, for example, suggests the following searches in bold at the top of the page: Heather Graham Naked, Heather Graham Nude, Heather Graham Tits, Heather Graham Pussy, Heather Graham Sex Scene, Heather Graham No Bra, Heather Graham Boobs, Heather Graham Sex, Heather Graham Hot, and Heather Graham Tesch.

    Heather Graham

Granted, SafeSearch is off, but this is quite a bit different than what you get from Google. Click on those explicit search suggestions, and you’ll get explicit content. The suggestions change when the setting is set to moderate or strict.

Google’s recommended searches at the top of the screen on a “Heather Graham” search are: heather graham hangover, heather graham premiere, heather graham 2013, heather graham judy moody, heather graham no makeup, heather graham husband.

    Quite a bit different.

It’s worth noting that Google calls them “related searches,” and that this is without checking the “filter explicit results” option, which replaced the old SafeSearch style that was similar to what Bing still has.

    Heather Graham

Now, you can still find the type of content that Bing is recommending in Google if you specifically type the keywords that Bing is suggesting. It’s not exactly missing from the index. Google has just gone out of its way in recent months to make it more difficult to find this kind of content, electing to make people get more specific with their keywords. As we’ve seen, there are times when this approach has sacrificed the relevancy of the search.

Perusing Bing’s various trending image searches, you see similar results. Amelia Vega suggests: Amelia Vega Nude. Sloane Stephens suggests Sloane Stephens nude. Jodi Arias suggests: Jodi Arias Nude and Jodi Arias Naked. Lohan suggests: Lindsay Lohan Nude, Lindsay Lohan Naked, Lohan Bares All, Lohan Tits, Lohan Topless, Lindsay Lohan Playboy, Lindsay Lohan Spread Eagle, Lohan Wardrobe Malfunction, etc. Similar results for searches for Taraji P. Henson and Sarah Silverman. It’s not just the women though. Nick Lachey suggests: Nick Lahcey Nude, Nick Lachey Naked, etc.

The difference in how these two search engine competitors illustrates how different their philosophies are regarding certain types of content. On the other hand, we’ve seen Bing make some much more appalling suggestions recently too.

  • Heather Graham Reprising Famous Role

    Heather Graham Reprising Famous Role

Heather Graham is reprising her role in the film that skyrocketed to popularity and coined many a phrase. Sadly, no, I’m not talking about “Boogie Nights” or “License To Drive”; she’ll be playing Jade once again in “The Hangover 3”.

Graham will be joining original cast members Ed Helms, Bradley Cooper, and Zach Galifianakis as they face down one last round of epic bad decisions, and while it’s not clear how they’re going to squeeze any more funny out of bachelor party debauchery, Graham seems to have faith it can be done. Besides, her high-energy, flighty portrayal of stripper Jade will more than likely inject the film with a dose of sparkle, which she has in spades.

While Graham’s career has been dotted with bigger-budget flicks like “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me”, “Scream 2”, and “Boogie Nights”, she tends to veer mostly towards lower-profile roles or indie films. When she does pop up in a major movie, it’s almost always a delight.

“The Hangover 3” hits theaters on Memorial Day weekend, 2013.

    And, just because:
