Claire Danes Recalls Relationship With Billy Crudup, His Split from Mary-Louise Parker

Claire Danes was a guest on Howard Stern’s radio show on Monday, and the topic of an old love interest came up. Stern asked the Homeland star about her relationship several years back with Billy Crudup.

Crudup and actress Mary-Louise Parker had been together for about eight years and she was pregnant–about seven months along–back in 2003, with their first child. Claire Danes and Billy Crudup met on the set of the film Stage Beauty, and Crudup left Parker for her shortly thereafter.

“I was just in love with him,” Claire Danes recalled. “And needed to explore that and I was 24…I didn’t quite know what those consequences would be.”

Danes acknowledged how difficult the public backlash over her part in the split was.

“That was a scary thing,” she said. “That was really hard. I didn’t know how to not do that.”

Claire Danes’ role in the break-up of Billy Crudup and Mary-Louise Parker will likely be covered in Parker’s upcoming book, Dear Mr. You, which is due out on November 1st.

Finally at peace with the entire ordeal, Claire Danes says she and Crudup are friends. The romance only lasted for about three years.

“We’re friendly–we’re friends,” she says of her ex.

Claire Danes married former Hannibal star Hugh Dancy in 2009. The couple has a three-year-old son named Cyrus.

Did you know Claire Danes was once involved in this sordid breakup? How awful for Mary-Louise Parker to have been ditched for another woman while she was seven months pregnant.

  • Hannibal Season 4? Not on Netflix or Amazon, Says Creator

Hannibal Season 4? Not on Netflix or Amazon, Says Creator

Last month, NBC canceled critical darling Hannibal after three seasons. Ever since, fans of the show – who are particularly diehard – have been hopeful that it would find a savior. Maybe Netflix? Maybe Amazon?

Well, apparently it’s going to have to be someone else. Executive producer and creator Bryan Fuller has confirmed that both Netflix and Amazon have passed on the show.

“We have been tremendously proud of Hannibal over its three seasons,” NBC said of its decision. “Fuller and his team of writers and producers, as well as our incredible actors, have brought a visual palette of storytelling that has been second to none in all of television — broadcast or cable. We thank Gaumont and everyone involved in the show for their tireless efforts that have made Hannibal an incredible experience for audiences around the world.”

Season three, which is currently airing, will feature a finale that could tie up the series – if it had to. But Fuller has stated that he had “radical” plans for a season four.

And fans are clamoring for more Hannibal.

So, where could Hannibal land? Of course there’s Hulu. Yahoo saved Community, so that’s an option.

Or maybe the best place for Hannibal is …

Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny To Return For “X-Files” Revival

Gillian Anderson is one busy lady.

Gillian Anderson has a couple of huge projects coming up for fans to enjoy!

Of most importance, Gillian Anderson will be returning, with David Duchovny, to Fox for a revival of the incredibly popular show, The X-Files.

In an annoucement, Fox execs revealed, “The next mind-bending chapter of The X-Files debuts with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, Jan. 24 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/7:00-8:00 PM PT), following the NFC Championship game, and continuing with its time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 25 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).”

The statement continued, “The thrilling, six-episode event series, helmed by creator/executive producer Chris Carter and starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson as FBI Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, marks the momentous return of the Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning pop culture phenomenon, which remains one of the longest-running sci-fi series in network television history.”

    So exciting!

In addition to the long-awaited X-Files continuation, Gillian Anderson will be featured on Hannibal‘s upcoming season as the “bride of Hannibal”, Dr. Bedelia Du Maurier.

Hannibal, besides bringing on Gillian Anderson, stars Hugh Dancy as criminal profiler Will Graham. Graham has the ability to see into the mind of serial killers.

Mads Mikkelsen stars as a super creepy Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Lecter is psychiatrist who is helping with the cases. He is also a serial killer.

    So awesome.

With the addition of Gillian Anderson as Hannibal’s love, I just don’t know if this show could possibly get any better.

And Gillian Anderson’s return as Dana Scully is just too much.

What do you think about Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny’s return to The X-Files? Will you be watching?

  • Jodie Foster Headed To “Hannibal”?

Jodie Foster took on a pretty challenging role when she signed on to do The Silence Of The Lambs, but she tackled it with fervor and garnered a huge fan base among horror lovers in the process. Now, it’s rumored that she’s thinking about working on NBC’s Hannibal, which is based on the same characters Thomas Harris created for his books and the film.

“At last night’s HBO Emmy party, I just so happened to overhear the genius showrunner ask the original Hannibal movie star if she would be willing to come and direct the series during its third season, which is set to begin production next week. Jodie was noncommittal, but said she’d think it over,” wrote E! News reporter Kristen Dos Santos.

Season three will take place one year after season two’s finale, and executive producer Bryan Fuller says it’s going to feel like an entirely new show.

Foster attended the Emmy Awards with new bride Alexandra Hedison; the actress was nominated for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series for her work on the Netflix powerhouse Orange Is The New Black. The couple were reportedly only together a few short months before tying the knot.

  • Gillian Anderson Poses Nude with Eel

Hannibal star Gillian Anderson posed nude with a big eel of the Conger variety, in protest of depleting Euro fish populations, per the Fishlove movement.

According to its website, Fishlove was established in 2009 by Nicholas Röhl, co-owner of MOSHIMO, and actress Greta Scacchi to raise awareness of the unsustainable fishing practices that are destroying the the earth’s marine ecosystem. Other nude Fishlove models that have posed for photographers Rankin, Alan Gelati and Denis Rouvre include Sir Ben Kingsley, Olivia Williams and Jeri Hall.

Fishlove’s latest petition reads, “Amazing animals that live in the deep ocean are being systematically destroyed by massive fishing nets that catch or crush everything in their path. But in days, the European Parliament could vote to protect one of the world’s most precious deep-sea habitats, and we need to give them the public mandate to do it. On December 10th, Members of the European Parliament can vote to ban the most destructive forms of deep-sea fishing in the Northeast Atlantic…Let’s make sure they have what they need before this historical vote! If we come together right now to raise our voices – we can ensure one of the most wonderful ocean habitats in the world is protected. Sign the petition right now and share this with everyone.”

Here’s Anderson admiring her eel pic:

Incidentally, Conger is a genus of marine congrid eels, which includes some of the longest varieties of eels, with the European species reaching 10 feet. Conger eels are a tad vicious as well, as diver Jimmy Griffin can attest to – In July, a Conger bit a chunk out of his face, as he was diving about 75 feet down near the west coast of Ireland.

In related news, Anderson and her former X-files costar David Duchovny have recently suggested that they would be okay with doing another X-files film, during a celebration of the 20 year reunion of the X-files pilot.

  • David Bowie Offered Hannibal Role

E! News has reported that rocker David Bowie is being courted for a role in season two of NBC’s Hannibal. Showrunner Bryan Fuller says, “We have reached out to David Bowie to see if he’s interested and available. We would love for him to play Hannibal’s uncle, who is a character from the literature and in the books.”

Hannibal’s uncle is a man called Count Robert Lecter. In the Thomas Harris book Hannibal Rising, Robert Lecter adopts a young Hannibal after his parents are killed and sister is murdered and cannibalized by Nazi deserters. Robert is married to a Japanese woman and he is eventually killed by Nazis himself. For the Hannibal television show, they are exploring possibilities where Robert will still be alive.

The show’s executives do not have an answer yet from Bowie, but they hope he will join them when the show resumes production in Toronto in August.

Bowie’s physical resemblance to series star Mads Mikkelsen would certainly help tell the story. Mikkelson, widely known for his earlier role as Le Chiffre in the James Bond thriller Casino Royale, has a thin, wiry build. Bowie himself has had a stage persona called The Thin White Duke.

Bowie’s experience as an actor includes Christopher Nolan’s 2006 film, The Prestige, where he played Nikola Tesla. He is also famous for his role as Jareth, the Goblin King in the 1986 film Labyrinth, alongside Jennifer Connelly. And he had a brief but memorable cameo as himself in Zoolander, where he judged a walk-off competition between the film’s two rivals.

Of course, Bowie’s mainstay is music. In addition to his numerous hit records, including Space Oddity (1969), The Man Who Sold the World (1970), The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars (1972), Let’s Dance (1983), and now The Next Day, released this year. In 1992, Bowie married Somali-American model Iman.
