  • Manslaughter Charge in Arkansas Missing Persons Case

The bodies of an Arkansas man and his 10-month-old son were discovered in a remote area of the Ouachita Mountains on July 29, concluding a four-day search. Now the mother of the infant has been charged with manslaughter.

Brian Floyd, 33, and his son Harper Floyd were last seen on the morning of July 25 with Brooke Floyd. Brooke was found hours later, walking alone down a rural road in the area, which is situated roughly 80 miles west of Little Rock. Yell County Sheriff Bill Gilkey commented that Floyd appeared to be “cut up and scarred as if she had been in a wooded area.”

Floyd was initially detained on the charge of endangering the welfare of a minor, as she was uncooperative regarding the search effort for her husband and child. Her bond was set at $50,000, and she was able to make bail.

Upon further investigation, it was revealed that the Floyd couple had both been hallucinating after ingesting methamphetamine, and believed that they were being chased. Capt. John Foster Jr. wrote in an affidavit, “I asked her if she was taking any medication because she appeared to be hallucinating many of the events she described.” Floyd explained that she added anti-seizure medication to the meth.

Floyd added that her story was an amalgam of mutual hallucinations she and her husband were experiencing. Foster Jr. commented, “She seemed to be indicating that they would tell each other what they were seeing or experiencing as they were hallucinating and then the other would believe they also saw or experienced the same thing.”

Preliminary autopsy reports indicate that infant Harper died of “exposure and abandonment.” The cause of the Brian Floyd’s death is awaiting toxicology results.

Floyd’s lawyer, Bill James, said he does not believe she is guilty. Floyd is set to appear in a Danville, Arkansas court on Thursday.

  • Crash Blamed On Zombies, Driver Was Hallucinating

What’s the first thing we usually blame a crash on? Perhaps the driver was under the influence, or maybe even texting. In one case, however, the cause was a little more terrifying, at least for the driver.

CNN reports that Jerimiah Clyde Hartline, 19, caused a major crash in Southern California after the stolen semi-trailer truck he was driving slammed into a number of vehicles. Hartline says his erratic driving that caused the crash was the result of him trying to shake off zombies that were clinging to the vehicle.

The police say that Hartline was under the influence of a substance that caused the zombie hallucinations. As he was trying to shake off the imaginary zombies, Hartline collided with a Toyota Tacoma than then collided with 4Runner, and so on. As is the case with these kind of collisions, a number of vehicles were involved. There were thankfully no deaths, but the police say those in the Tacoma were “seriously injured.”

So, how did all this happen in the first place? Police say that Hartline, originally from Tennessee, was traveling with Daniel Martinez, the truck driver, after he had been kicked out of his home. As the truck made a scheduled stop in California, Hartline stole the vehicle as Martinez was filling out paperwork.

After the crash, Hartline hopped into a white van demanding that be taken elsewhere. The driver held him until police could arrest him. He was charged with taking a vehicle without the owner’s consent and receiving known stolen property.

Google Maps Locates God(s) in Switzerland

Some peculiar things have been spotted by Google Maps users over the years. There was rumored discovery of Atlantis, some hilarious captures of people falling, and, well, lots of other major weird. Now, prepare to add another page to the Google Maps black casebook.

If you type in the coordinates “47.110579 9.227568” in the Google Maps search bar. You’ll be located along the southern shore of Walensee Lake in Switzerland. Upon searching for the coordinates, you’ll see a green arrow. Click on the green arrow and select the “more” drop-down menu to change to Street View. Once you’re on the ground level, you’ll be looking out over the road barrier toward the lake. Simply click on the map and drag it to the right so that you’ll be facing northeast. Then look up.

    You should see this:

While this is probably an optical illusion created from the combination of the Street View’s stitching together of images and the remnants of an object that got mostly blurred out, it’s still kinda weird to see a duo of gods hanging out on top of clouds.

Maybe we shouldn’t be zombieing up our neighbors after all. Or, maybe the Good Lords are just fans of primo chocolate.
