  • Lisa Whelchel And Kim Fields Reunite For TV Movie

Blair and Tootie will be together again, well not exactly Blair and Tootie, but Lisa Whelchel and Kim Fields.

The Facts of Life has been off the air since 1988, however, two of the sitcom’s stars will reunite for a television movie on the Hallmark Channel called For Better or For Worse. The movie is an adaptation of the book of the same name written by the late Diann Hunt.

Hallmark released the following synopsis for the comedy:

Opposites attract when Wendy (Whelchel), a wedding coordinator, and Marco (Cupo), a divorce attorney, find their lives suddenly intertwined. Wendy is finally settling into the single life after struggling with the death of her husband. After a difficult season of grief, she’s taken over the family business of coordinating weddings with the help of her friend and co-worker Roseanne (Fields).

Although Wendy will stop at nothing to promote her marriage business over Marco’s divorce business, she must form an alliance with Marco after her son Collin (Ruttle) announces his unexpected engagement to Marco’s daughter Sophia (Josipovic).

With the exception of a 2001 The Facts of Life Reunion TV movie, participating as a contestant on Survivor: Philippines in 2012 (she reached the finale and came in second place), and an appearance in Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas in 2013, Whelchel left showbiz after The Facts of Life in order to concentrate on raising her family. The actress got married in 1988 and had three children. She is also a regular public speaker with Women of Faith Christian conferences.

Kim Fields has worked fairly steady in television since The Facts of Life left the air. She was a regular cast member on the Queen Latifah show Living Single from 1993-1997. Fields has also served as a director and producer for television.

You can check out For Better or For Worse on the Hallmark Channel on July 19 9/8c.

  • Lacey Chabert of “Mean Girls” To Play Widow In Hallmark’s “The Color of Rain”

Although she’s best known for her role in the movie Mean Girls, Lacey Chabert will be featured in a tearjerker brought to you by the Hallmark Channel. The made-for-TV movie is called The Color of Rain, and involves a widower, played by Warren Christie, and a widow (Chabert) who come together in a time of loss.

It’s all based on a true story.

According to TV Guide, Chabert called the role “poignant and personal”. “I wanted to make sure the family was happy with what was happening,” she said. “I spoke with Gina, the woman that I played, before we filmed and she was really supportive.”

Does Chabert putting her hand in drama pique your interest? Then check out the Hallmark Channel’s promo below.

Since the 10th Anniversary of Mean Girls last month, Chabert has been thrust into the spotlight. In an interview with the New York Times, she explained how unlike she actually was from the character she played: “I related to the part in the movie where girls are cutting themselves down, like, “My hairline is weird” — stuff people would never notice on someone else. I was never the cool kid. I wore Minnie Mouse stuff. And growing up in Hollywood, I always felt under a microscope.”

Last Christmas, Chabert managed to escape the Hollywood microscope during her own wedding. The marriage wasn’t public knowledge until the actress made the announcement over Instagram and Twitter. “I’m starting off 2014 as a Mrs! Over the holidays, my best friend & love of my life…we became husband & wife! #soblessed #love,” she tweeted. The husband’s identity was even a secret, until US Weekly revealed him to be her long time boyfriend Dave Nehdar.

Since he is still alive, it’s safe to say Chabert is once again playing a character who is different from her.

  • Valerie Harper: Good News From Doctors

Valerie Harper: Good News From Doctors

Valerie Harper was pretty much given a death sentence when she was diagnosed with brain cancer a little more than a year ago. She was told at the time that at best she had just months to live. The Rhoda and Mary Tyler Moore Show star grabbed life by the horns and was determined to live whatever she had left of it to the very fullest.

That’s exactly what Harper did, and now, even though her doctor is hesitant to say she is in remission, they are rather astonished by what they are seeing.

“My last scans have been positive, and my doctors are very happy,” Valerie Harper said during a recent interview. “[The oncologist] looked at the scans and said, ‘Oh my God, Valerie, this is very encouraging.’”

So what does her doctor say if he won’t claim she’s in remission?

“He likes to say, ‘I give you a treatment, and it’s either responsive or nonresponsive, and you are having a phenomenal response,” she explains

This doesn’t in any way mean she’s been cured of her cancer.

“In response to a recent erroneous quote concerning my health, I am not ‘absolutely cancer-free,’ ” she said in a statement on Wednesday. “I wish I were. Right now what I am is cautiously optimistic about my present condition and I have hope for the future.”

A report published in Closer Weekly claimed the actress was cancer free. Excited fans started tweeting the happy news.

Harper was quick to squelch the inaccurate report, but happy to clarify that even if she wasn’t deemed cancer free, she’s certainly doing much better than doctors ever predicted.

“My cancer is incurable and terminal, but guess what? Not today!” Harper told PEOPLE on Wednesday. “There is all manner of suffering in the world, not all of it by any stretch related just to cancer or to illness, but all kinds of suffering.”

She even offered a bit of advice for those who have perhaps been given a ‘death sentence’ similar to the one she was given–more than a year ago.

“Don’t go to the funeral before it is time. So my time is looking good today and that’s how we are all supposed to live our lives – one day at a time,” she says.

Valerie Harper inspired fans when she appeared on Dancing With the Stars following her initial diagnosis.

She will soon appear on The Hallmark Channel in Signed, Sealed, Delivered.

Cancer free? Maybe not. But Valerie Harper is living one heck of a life just the same. Her amazing outlook sets a wonderful example for all.

  • Candace Cameron Bure, From “Full House” to Family Matters

Candace Cameron Bure has come a long way since her leading role in the 1990’s hit show “Full House” and it seems that she may have picked up on some of those theatrical family values.

Most of you may remember her as D.J., the oldest sister of the on-camera family, which we had the privilege to watch grow up from a young adolescent to a respectable teenager.

Now at the age of 37, the former childhood TV star has recently revealed her current life as a mother, wife and ongoing actress.

Bure has been married for 17 years and she and former hockey player, Valeri Bure, have three children.

Married at the age 20 and conceiving her first child at 22, Bure decided to take a well-needed break from the acting industry to focus on raising her children.

Bure’s 2013 released book, “Balancing It All: My Story of Juggling Priorities and Purpose,” is said to detail the aspects of her life.

One thing that she emphasizes the most in her book is her Christian beliefs, which she incorporates into her marriage. Bure admits that she chooses to be a submissive wife because she believes that two heads of authority do not make a marriage work.

Her personal view on the matter, of course, is a hot topic when it comes to leadership roles in relationships.

In an interview with the Huffington Post, she clarifies her marriage views described in her book.

“The definition I’m using with the word ‘submissive’ is the biblical definition of that. So, it is meekness, it is not weakness. It is strength under control, it is bridled strength,” she said.

In her younger years, Bure suffered from bulimia and in 2011 she transcribed those experiences in her first book, “Reshaping It All: Physical and Spiritual Fitness.”

Now, following years of growth and raising a family, a new edition to her publishing career shares the side of her that she values the most.

“It’s much like an autobiography and it takes you through my life story, picking out those moments where I had to make choices that would help me balance my life,” she told ABC News.

Bure plans to continue to embrace the fact that her TV roles will never match up to her role as a mother and wife, something she refers to as: “…where I’m going to be for however many years of my life.”
