  • Halle Berry Talks Balancing Motherhood And Work

Halley Berry gave birth to her son Maceo just five months ago and has already lost the baby weight and has her social life back on track. How has Berry gotten back in shape so quickly? She says it is due to breastfeeding.

“Every mother should breastfeed,” she said of her post-pregnancy weight loss. “It’s the quickest way to shed the initial weight, and then you have to eat right.”

Although Berry said that she is happy with her weight loss, she also claimed that it was never a priority and that she is just happy to have another child to love and care for.

“I just feel great because I have another baby,” Berry, 47, continued. “I never thought that at my stage in life another baby — and a baby boy — was coming to me, so yeah, I’m blessed.”

Berry gave birth to her son in October of 2013 at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Baby Maceo is Berry’s second child. She also has a daughter named Nahla from her previous relationship with ex Gabriel Aubrey.

Berry said that Nahla is very caring towards her baby brother and that she is just as enamored with him as the rest of the family.

“She’s very serious about her big sister role,” Berry revealed. “It’s like one of her doll babies came alive. She gets to take care of him, feed him, change his diapers, play with him, dress him up in different clothes like five times a day because she can, so she loves it.”

Berry has not let motherhood slow down her career and her newest film, Frankie and Alice, will hit theaters on April 4. Berry has found a way to balance her career and family and even takes her children with her to the set on occasion.

She has a nursery and playroom on the set to entertain her children while she is working and spends time with them in between takes and on her breaks.

  • Halle Berry Opens Up About Post-Baby Body

Halle Berry has been well-known for years for her amazing figure, but in a place like Hollywood, it’s hard for a working mom to get back to a comfortable place without being scrutinized by the media. Right now, she says, she’s focusing on her infant son rather than pleasing anyone else.

“You know, I’m working on a television show now, so I’m juggling working and being a mom and breast feeding while I’m working,” she said. “It’s a whole new life for me now all over again, having a new little baby again.”

The 47-year old actress says she feels blessed to have her two children but doesn’t see any more in her future. Right now, she’s working hard to get back her pre-baby figure, but in the meantime she’s dressing for her curves without worrying about conforming to Hollywood’s strict beauty standards.

Berry was one of several celebrities who recently won a small victory over the media; last week, People Magazine and Entertainment Tonight both announced that they would no longer publish photos of celebrity children unless the kids are at a red carpet event or similar, where it’s a given that they will be photographed. Berry has been a vocal opponent of paparazzi who chase after the stars to get shots of their kids, as it’s a safety issue for the little ones.

Last year, Berry was involved in getting a bill passed that enables celebrities to press charges against photographers who harass their children. The law, known as Bill 606, states that anyone convicted of harassing a celebrity’s child can spend up to a year in jail and can be fined anywhere from $10,000-$30,000 depending on the number of offenses. Berry has been working on getting the law passed since she became mom to 5-year old Nahla and began to fear for her daughter’s safety when they were in public together.

“I started this fight with a great deal of hope and a bit of uncertainty so I cannot express my immense gratitude that Governor Brown has recognized, and acted to remedy, the plight of children who are tormented because of the identity or prominence of their parents,” said Berry. “On behalf of my children, it is my hope that this is the beginning of the end for those overly aggressive paparazzi whose outrageous conduct has caused so much trauma and emotional distress. This started as just a hope and a wish for my daughter. I never thought that I could take it this far and find such amazing partners along the way.”

Halle Berry Gives Birth To Son

Halle Berry gave birth to her son over the weekend at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Berry has a 5-year-old daughter, Nahla from a previous relationship, but this is the first baby for her and husband, Olivier Martinez.

Berry and Martinez met on the set of Dark Tide which they were filming together at the time. But the time filming had ended in 2010, the couple was dating. The couple got engaged in January and confirmed the news in March. They were married in Vallery, France in July.

Berry had previously sworn off marriage, saying it just wasn’t for her and she could never see herself in a traditional marriage.

“Who knew? I swore [marriage] off, right?” she joked to Extra. “Never say never, people!”

Berry said that her daughter Nahla had been asking for a baby brother or sister but she wasn’t sure if she was ready for another child until recently.

“Every night we pray to God, and she’s so sweet. She says, ‘God, please bring me a bunk bed and a baby sister.’ And I say, ‘I can do one of those things, I know for sure! The other one we have to keep praying on.’ What do you say to her when she wants that and can’t understand why God’s taking so long, you know?”

Berry announced her pregnancy in April and seemed to glow throughout it. She stayed active and was often see shopping and sporting her baby bump throughout the summer, usually wearing a sundress and flip flops or another comfortable yet stylish outfit.

Berry confirmed the birth of her son but no other detail about the little bundle of joy have been released.
