  • Kelly Ripa Goes Blue, TV Host Changes Hair Color

Kelly Ripa, host of Live! With Kelly and Michael, has done it again – and by it, we mean her hair.

The 44-year-old star showed off her brand new hairstyle on Thursday on her show. After spending 5 hours in her stylist’s chair a day before the broadcast, Ripa finally ditched her pastel pink hair to a bright blue hue.

Thanks to hair colorist and style genius Ryan Trygstad, Ripa now sports a mermaid-esque hair color. “I wanted to try blue because I tried pink and I really liked it. We dyed it blue and it turned lime green. Mark [Consuelos] came downstairs and he said ‘Oh my gosh, you look like the lucky charms guy.’”

“[The kids] think I look like a superhero!”

The Live! host uploaded a photo of her freshly dyed hair on Instagram with a caption, “Shady’s back, tell a friend….” Trygstad shared a shot of the mother of three on the app right after he finished the makeover.

The shady lady’s brand new hue perfectly complements her tanned skin. During the show, she wore a pale pink, long-sleeved top and a long, grey skirt to further accentuate her bright blue locks.

The host looks pretty pleased with the results of the coloring although she says to Michael Strahan, her co-host, “What’s sad is that I get two shampoos and then it’s back to normal.”

Ripa says she loves trying out new looks and hairstyles, saying, “Every time I get ready to go on vacation I dye my hair a different color. It’ll wash out. This will wash out, I just haven’t washed my hair yet.”

“I get bored. I think I might go red next.”

Clearly Trygstad’s stylist chair is so super comfortable that Ripa just can’t seem to get off of it.

  • Hair Coloring: 3 Tips For Perfect Spring Hair

In the spring, most people like to color their hair lighter. Even blondes will add highlights or lighten their hair a shade or two. Lighter hair reflects the sun better and makes skin look darker. If you are planning to dye your hair for spring, consider these tips to help you choose the right color and make it last as long as possible.

    Stop Conditioning
Sure conditioner makes your hair softer and more manageable, but it can also strip the color away and leave your dye job looking less than amazing. Even if you don’t color your hair, you shouldn’t condition it everyday because it strips away the natural oils and can damage your hair. If you must condition your colored hair, try to only do so once or twice a week. Be sure to use conditioners that are designed for color treated hair.

    Red Or Blonde
When you think of coloring your hair lighter, blonde is probably the first color that comes to mind. While blonde is obviously the lightest hair color available, there are other colors that can lighten your hair in a more subtle way. If you have dark hair, consider adding red highlights or dyeing your hair a light auburn. The change will not be as dramatic as going blonde but will still give you a lighter color.

Blondes may want to consider adding red highlights as well. The darker contrast of the red will make the blonde stand out more. If you do choose to go blonde this spring, opt for a natural shade instead of a bleached, artificial looking color.

    Chunking Highlights
Highlights are a great way to lighten hair a little without dyeing it completely. If you choose to highlight your hair, choose a color that is at least two shades lighter than your natural hair color. Chunking highlights are going to be popular this spring and if you are feeling really brave, you can try adding them with a hot neon color such as pink or purple.

It’s time to enjoy the sunshine and look your best. When it comes time to dye your hair for spring, remember these three tips and choose your color wisely.

  • Britney Spears Rocks New Brunette Hair Color

Do brunettes have more fun? I think so since it seems stars everywhere are going from blonde to the darker shade.

Kim Kardashian isn’t the only star straying from her blonde locks these day. Pop icon, Britney Spears recently changed her usual blonde hairstyle to a darker brown shade.

The songstress revealed her new locks through a Twitter post to promote her Fantasy “Naughty Remix” and “Nice Remix” perfumes.

While this isn’t the first time the “Work Bitch” beauty has switched her hair colors, it’s still a little jarring seeing her without her signature look.

She was last sporting the darker hair color at Elton John’s Oscar viewing party last February.

Reality star, Kim Kardashian recently went back to her signature brunette hair, posting the makeover to Instagram.

But it seems the KUWTK star isn’t as confident about her new ‘do as Spears seems to be.

“What do I do? Go light again or stay dark and get used to it,” Kardashian asked on her Mobio Insider app.

Spears is still staring in her very own Vegas act at Planet Hollywood. You can catch the 32-year-old blonde performing all the hits she’s made famous over the past 15 years in an energetic show called, “Britney: Piece of Me.”

  • Kim Kardashian: Back to Brunette

    Kim Kardashian: Back to Brunette

Kim Kardashian has said goodbye to the blonde streaks in her locks and welcomed back her natural brunette hues–a far more complimentary tone for the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star. The new mom of beautiful baby girl North West–her daughter with significant other Kanye West–shared her transformation with an Instagram photo (Is there anything a Kardashian doesn’t share via photos on social media?) and captioned it as follows.

    “I’m back,” she wrote.

Kim then shared yet another shot on the photo sharing site MobioInsider saying, “Love change.”

It seems she might not be back to brunette for good, however, as a fan who asked if she’d ever consider dying her tresses blonde again received the following answer.

    “Absolutely! i loved it!”

Fans can check out photos of Kim Kardashian’s hair on pretty much any social media site or celebrity news publication. It seems no matter what she does with her hair, she manages to learn perfect. Being a young mom with a new baby can deplete moms of energy. Changes like hair color or even running out for a mani-pedi can infuse new life into tired, stressed out mothers.

Of course Kim Kardashian no doubt has some help in the mothering department. Despite what is said in front of the cameras, you can bet there is some kind of hired help behind the scenes.

So what do you think about Kim’s new hair color? Do you think she is prettier as a more natural brunette or did you think the blonde highlights added a pop of brightness to her darker skin, eyes and hair? What do you suppose Kanye West thinks of Kim’s new look? Or do you think he’s simply too busy with his career and fawning over baby North to even notice the change?
