  • Rocco Ritchie: Is Madonna Losing Custody of Her Son?

Rocco Ritchie remains in London with his father, Guy Ritchie, as the custody battle between his dad and Madonna is close to reaching a resolution.

People magazine reports Guy Ritchie expects the custody war will soon be won–with him as the victor.

At a New York Supreme Court hearing held Wednesday, Rocco Ritchie’s court-appointed attorney and the judge agreed that the teenager will remain in London with his father as they work at settling the dispute outside of court.

Rocco Ritchie left Madonna’s tour in December, and has been living with Guy Ritchie, attending school in London, since then–even though a judge ordered him returned to New York by January.

People reports that Guy Ritchie and Madonna were close to an agreement regarding Rocco Ritchie on Wednesday, but it all fell apart just hours ahead of the hearing.

A source tells the publication Madonna “is trying desperately to protect her son.”

Rocco Ritchie’s court-appointed attorney says the 15-year-old is “stressed out.”

“Of course Rocco is stressed out. In the few months he has been in the U.K., even though he has just been enrolled, Rocco has missed months of schooling,” the source alleges. “[He] has been photographed by paparazzi smoking suspicious cigarettes multiple times, has broken his wrist, shaved his head and been without supervision for days at a time…Madonna sees the damage that’s being done to Rocco, who has so much potential, which by his father’s influence is now being wasted and destroyed due to lack of guidance from [Ritchie].”

    Rocco Ritchie’s dad doesn’t like Madonna’s “old-fashioned” child-rearing philosophy.

“He wants Rocco to have the confidence he lacked growing up and thinks Madonna’s stern parental style is counterproductive,” a Ritchie source says. “The welfare of Rocco is Guy’s priority.”

Should Rocco Ritchie be allowed to remain with Guy Ritchie in London, or should he be returned immediately to Madonna in New York?

What do you expect the court will decide?

  • Rocco Ritchie Rejects Mom Madonna, Refuses To Spend Time With Her For The Holidays

Rocco Ritchie, the 15-year-old son of pop queen Madonna and British director Guy Ritchie, reportedly refused to return home to New York, and stayed with his dad’s family in London instead.

An insider told TMZ that Guy, 47, and Madonna, 57, have had a “volatile” relationship in the last several years, and most of it was caused by their son Rocco.

The Material Girl is said to be too strict a disciplinarian to Rocco, and it does not sit well with the teenager.

In addition, the “Like A Virgin” singer often shares “humiliating” photos of her son, and one even showed Rocco wearing pigtails.

So during Rocco’s visit with his father, Guy Ritchie may have “stoked the coals”, which worked in his favor.

As a result, Rocco Ritchie now refuses to return to his mom and siblings for the holidays.

The pop diva, who was in the middle of a world tour, then headed over to the Manhattan Supreme Court in order to demand Guy to send Rocco Ritchie back to New York City.

“I’m directing the child to be returned to New York,” Madonna said.

Meanwhile, an attorney representing Ritchie told reporters that Rocco “expressed very clearly” that he does not want to return home with his mom.

However, Justice Lewis Kaplan ruled that Rocco Ritchie should first see his mother before deciding on which parent he wishes to be with.

Despite his son’s decision to spend the holidays away from her, Madonna still sent her son a sweet Instagram post: “Merry X-mas to the Sun-shine of my Life!”

  • Rocco Ritchie–Did Dad Guy Ritchie Drive Wedge Between Son and Mom Madonna?

Rocco Ritchie is at the center of a heated custody dispute that may, in fact, be the result of a long-term feud between parents Guy Ritchie and Madonna.

TMZ reports things have been volatile between Madonna and Guy for years, and when Rocco Ritchie went to visit his dad in London this last time, Guy used it as an opportunity to drive a wedge between mother and son.

A judge ordered Rocco to return to New York before school begins again following Christmas break. He will then deal with legal proceedings in the U.S.

Eric Buckley serves Rocco Ritchie’s counsel in London.

“He has expressed very clearly that he does not want to return to New York,” he said last week.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Deborah Kaplan said if Rocco Ritchie wants to live in London with his dad, he first needs to return to New York first to make it official.

“I’m directing the child to be returned to New York. If he wants to stay with his father, he must return to his mother,” Kaplan told Madonna during a court hearing earlier this week.

A hearing took place on December 23, after Rocco Ritchie retained his own legal counsel in London. The lawyer was–at that time–holding Rocco’s passport for safe keeping. The London court, however, sided with the New York court, deeming Rocco must return to New York, where he’ll get his own court-appointed attorney.

“The parties should be doing this in New York instead of initiating it in England,” Kaplan added.

Hello! reports that as of Christmas Day, Rocco Ritchie hadn’t returned to the U.S. He spent Christmas with his dad in London.

Do you think there is really a problem between Rocco Ritchie and the Material Girl? Or has Guy Ritchie used typical 15-year-old discontent to his advantage, and fueled it into a more serious issue?

Will Rocco Ritchie return to the U.S. or will Madonna wind up going to London to retrieve him?

  • Rocco Ritchie Subject of Custody Battle Between Madonna and Guy Ritchie

Rocco Ritchie is the 15-year-old son of singer Madonna and her ex-husband Guy Ritchie. He is also the subject of a custody battle between the two.

Not wanting to live in New York with Madonna any longer, Rocco Ritchie wants to live in London with his dad. A judge ordered Rocco to return to New York before school begins again following Christmas break. He will then deal with legal proceedings in the U.S.

Eric Buckley is Rocco Ritchie’s lawyer.

“He has expressed very clearly that he does not want to return to New York,” he said.

“I’m directing the child to be returned to New York. If he wants to stay with his father, he must return to his mother,” Kaplan told Madonna during a court hearing earlier this week.

The Wednesday hearing took place after Rocco Ritchie retained his own legal counsel in London. That lawyer is presently holding Rocco’s passport for safe keeping. The London court, however, sided with the New York court, deeming Rocco must return to New York, where he’ll get his own court-appointed attorney.

“The parties should be doing this in New York instead of initiating it in England,” Kaplan added.

Rocco Ritchie is just one of Madonna’s four children. He has one younger brother from his parents’ marriage and two half-sisters.

Do you expect Rocco Ritchie will be allowed to live with his dad in London, or will he have to stay with Madonna in New York instead?

  • Jude Law in Talks to Play Villain in ‘King Arthur’

Jude Law may play a mysterious villain in the legend of King Arthur franchise.

Time and time again, King Arthur and his Knights of the Roundtable have been inspiration for various stories, in various forms of media. In 2008, the cult favorite Merlin graced British and American screens. The series followed young Merlin and King Arthur. It ran from 2008-2012. The last blockbuster attempt to rebirth the legend happened in 2004 with Antoine Fuqua’s King Arthur.

Now Warner Bros. and Village Roadshow pictures are co-financing a new King Arthur franchise. The only major detail released about these films are that they’ll be told in six movies. Of course, these films are contingent on the financial success of the first one.

Guy Ritchie will direct and produce the six movies; Joby Harold (Awake) has penned the screenplay. He will also co-produce with Ritchie, and Lionel Wigram, Akiva Goldsman, and Tory Tunnell.

In August, Deadline reported that Son of Anarchy‘s Charlie Hunnam joined the cast as Arthur. In September, the movie found its Guinevere in the form of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides‘ Astrid Berges-Frisbey. Now it looks like the film has its main villain: Law.

According to Variety, Law has begun negotiations to play an unnamed villain in the first film, titled Knights of the Roundtable. It’s unclear if Law will only play the villain in the first film or all six movies. This marks the third time Ritchie and Law worked together. Law starred as Dr. John Watson in Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Homes: A Game of Shadows.

Law’s most recent film, Black Sea, hits theaters in January 2015.

Knights of the Roundtable: King Arthur will go into production once they cast Merlin. Idris Elba was originally up for the part, but negotiations fell through.

The film is already set for a July 22, 2016 release.

  • Emma Watson Pays Tribute to ‘Harry Potter’ Co-star After His Untimely Death

Emma Watson paid tribute to her ‘lovely’ Harry Potter co-star Dave Legeno, after the 50-year-old actor was found dead last week in Death Valley, California.

Legeno, who played werewolf Fenrir Greyback in three of the Harry Potter movies, was hiking the remote wash below Manly Beacon, West of Zabriskie Point, when he was overcome by the heat.

The mixed martial arts expert’s partially decomposed remains were found by a couple hiking in the area. A helicopter was sent to recover the body, Inyo County officials confirmed.

‘It appears that Legeno died of heat-related issues, but the Inyo County Coroner will determine the final cause of death,” said a sheriff’s department spokesman.

County Deputy Coroner Jason Molinar said the former bouncer and wrestler’s body may have been lying for days in triple-digit heat.

Watson, who became a world-wide star thanks to her role as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter franchise, expressed her condolences via Twitter.

Meanwhile another Harry Potter star, Tom Felton, who played villain Draco Malfoy in all the films, described Legeno as a ‘great talent’ in a moving message on Instagram.

The caption accompanying the photo read:

“Dave Legeno. It was always a pleasure. He was a great talent with a heart of gold and always had time for anyone. Dave was a soft, kind gentleman off screen but had the skill to be the complete opposite on screen. He taught me lots, You will be missed mate xx #DaveLegeno.”

Legeno, who also starred in Guy Ritchie‘s Snatch, is survived by a 20-year-old daughter, Wendy.

  • Yahoo And Liquid Teaming Up To Publish Motion Comics

Yahoo announced today that thy will be partnering with Liquid Comics to further expand their motion comics offerings. The two companies said they’ll make the first two titles, which were created by film directors Barry Sonnenfeld and Guy Ritchie, available online later this summer through Yahoo! Screen.

If you aren’t familiar with motion comics, they are a not so new way of viewing traditional comic books that blends together comic book art and animation, offering some movement and action but on a limited scale. here is an example:

“This is compelling content from great storytellers, and we are excited to be adding Liquid Comics to our robust slate of premium content partners,” said Erin McPherson, vice president and head of video for Yahoo.

This particular medium has gained ground over the past few years with some titles even gaining some shelf space at my local Blockbuster. The motion comics can also be viewed online or on devices like tablets and iPads.

When asked about his thoughts on the future partnership with Yahoo, CEO of Liquid Comics Sharad Devarajan had this to say. “Yahoo’s impressive global reach will greatly enhance Liquid’s goal of pushing the boundaries of comic books through digital platforms and technology and enabling our creative partners to share their stories with audiences worldwide.”

Guy Ritchie and Tom Hanks are both bringing graphic novels to the table for this new venture. The name recognition might give them the push to sell a few more titles.

  • Guy Ritchie to Direct Treasure Island

Guy Ritchie (Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Sherlock Holmes) has been hired to direct a new rendition of Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island. A relatively unknown writer by the name of Alex Harakis is attached to write the script.

Ritchie will also produce the film, along with Lionel Wigram and Kevin McCormick. The announcement was made via Deadline Hollywood:

Warner Bros has attached Guy Ritchie to direct a new version of Robert Louis Stevenson’s pirate tale Treasure Island, and has set Alex Harakis to write the script. Ritchie will produce the film with his partner Lionel Wigram and Langley Park’s Kevin McCormick. It was Wigram who originally set up a stylized version of the classic novel, much the way he did Sherlock Holmes, which Ritchie directed. He set it up before he and Ritchie became partners. Their first move after partnering was to take on The Man From U.N.C.L.E., after Steven Soderbergh dropped out of the film.

Guy Ritchie’s take on Sherlock Holmes was very entertaining, It only makes sense that he would take on another classic fun-loving novel like Treasure Island. It was fun to read some of Arthur Conan Doyle’s novels and short stories to see what Ritchie took from the character and what kind of spin he added himself. Treasure Island should be no different. It’s an easy read, so everyone should check it out before going to see this movie. It’ll definitely be worth it.
