  • Apple TV+ Trial Will Go to Three Months July 1

Apple TV+ Trial Will Go to Three Months July 1

Apple is shortening the length of the Apple TV+ free trial, from a full year to three months, effective July 1.

Apple TV+ is the company’s premium TV streaming service, with a focus on original programming. It recently passed 40 million users, and boasts a number of hit shows and movies, including Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, Mythic Quest and Tom Hanks’ Greyhound.

Until now, Apple has included a free year subscription with the purchase of a new Mac or iOS device, as well as a new Apple TV. The year-long, complimentary subscription was a way for Apple to boost and retain subscribers as it worked to rolled out its original programming.

First spotted by MacWorld, it appears Apple is reducing the free trial period to three months. On the Apple TV+ marketing page, it says subscribers will received a free year subscription “when you purchase and activate an Apple device before June 30th, 2021.”

In the footnote clarifying the terms, it says: “Eligible devices activated July 1, 2021, or later will qualify for offers of 3 months free Apple TV+. Eligible devices activated on June 30, 2021, or earlier will qualify for offers of 12 months free Apple TV+.”

It remains to be seen how well Apple TV+ will do without a year-long, free subscription artificially propping it up. If the company can continue releasing critically acclaimed programming, however, it just may continuing gaining ground.

  • Adopted Dog Saves the Life of Owner

Erin Cramer has a lot to be thankful for these days. She is especially thankful for her family’s newly adopted dog. The greyhound named Clobberhead saved Cramer’s life in a potentially life-threatening situation.

One day when Cramer stayed home from work because she was feeling ill, she noticed Clobberhead acting a tad strange.

The dog started hitting his head against a wall prompting Cramer to take him outside for some fresh air. Cramer felt the dog trying to bring her back inside, eventually convincing the new dog owner to open the laundry room door.

Once the door was propped open, Cramer understood Clobberhead’s actions and realized the pressing danger at hand. A natural gas leak from the apartment’s laundry room was causing the pup to react.

“This wall of gas just came pouring out,” Cramer said after the realized there was a leak. Her water heater had sprung a leak causing it to spark.

According to experts, the gas fumes had the potential to take out her house and the others around it.

“If it wasn’t for him (Clobberhead) coming into our lives, we probably wouldn’t be here right now,” Cramer thankfully said.

Cramer picked up the smart greyhound from a shelter a few months ago.

  • Cincinnati Bus Crash Leads to Federal Investigation

Federal officials have stepped in to do a thorough investigation on the Greyhound bus that veered off Interstate 75, flipping over into an Ohio cornfield over the weekend. WDTN-Dayton, Ohio reported that an extensive investigation will be conducted by the U.S. Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Administration in conjunction with the Butler County Sheriff’s office.

The local and federal entities have intervened to assist the Ohio State Highway Patrol in an effort to expeditiously determine the cause of the accident. Today, the Greyhound bus’ brakes where the main focal point of the investigation. Other mechanical parts where also inspected, but no mechanical specifications have been released as of yet. The tapes from the bus’ surveillance system have also been sent off for further review. The tapes will be observed to determine if any unusual activity took place minutes before the crash.

“We’re still putting together pieces of the puzzle. We haven’t determined the cause,” admitted Highway Patrol Lt. Edward Meija. Meija also informed the media that Dwayne Garrett, the 64 year old bus driver, who was also injured, voluntarily gave an investigative statement, and allowed for blood to be drawn for testing.

Greyhound Lines Inc. representative Alexandra Pedrini stated that the driver has 15 years experience, in addition to a ‘clean driving record.’ She went to say that the bus had also passed its  annual inspection recently.

The bus crashed at around 4:00am Saturday morning on Interstate 75, about 25 miles north of the Cincinnati city limits. The bus, transporting 51 passengers, was in route from Cincinnati to Detroit, MI. Approximately 35 passengers were injured, and six remain hospitalized.
