Morena Baccarin: “One Million Years Pregnant” And Getting Ready To Deal With Custody Battle

Morena Baccarin is slowing down these days now that Gotham, the show she films with her baby’s soon-to-be dad Ben McKenzie, has ceased filming and she has wrapped touring to promote Deadpool.

Though, Morena Baccarin admits, slowing down when she already has a toddler running around is nearly impossible.

Morena Baccarin said recently, “I’m one million years pregnant! I’m feeling good, and I’m now at the point where I can chill out a bit.”

She continued, “With a toddler, chilling out is hard to do,” and added, “I’m nesting.”

Morena Baccarin is due any day now with her second child, but soon afterward, she’ll have to deal with some custody drama.

Morena Baccarin shares custody of her son, Julius, 2, with her estranged husband, Austin Chick. The couple had previously agreed to share custody and Chick moved to New York, where Baccarin was filming Gotham, to co-parent.

However, when Chick found out about her romance with Ben McKenzie, he changed his mind and moved back to Los Angeles and challenged her for custody of their son.

Court papers said Chick “shipped some furniture there and actually stayed there with the child for approximately two weeks in July. Apparently he changed his mind and returned to Los Angeles with the child when he learned that [Baccarin] had a new boyfriend.”

A hearing was set for the custody proceedings, but Morena Baccarin was put on bedrest by her doctor. So, the actress will have to deal with it after the birth of her second son.

Hopefully Morena Baccarin can get her custody battle ironed out so that she can begin living her life with McKenzie.

What do you think about Morena Baccarin’s upcoming battle with estranged husband Austin Chick?

  • Morena Baccarin, Ben McKenzie Show Off Baby-to-Be at Gotham Independent Film Awards, Following Child and Spousal Support Order

Morena Baccarin and Ben McKenzie were showing off her pronounced baby bump and clearly wearing the glow of impending parenthood at the Gotham Independent Film Awards on Monday. The two are expecting their first baby together.

It was less than a couple of weeks ago, however, that Morena Baccarin received an order from the court to pay both spousal support and child support to estranged husband Austin Chick. She will have to pay more than $20,000 in spousal support, as well as $2,693 per month in child support until their son Julius–who is now two–turns 18, according to a report from People magazine.

The Gotham costars wowed the crowd at the awards show. Morena Baccarin wore a white dress that accentuated that burgeoning belly–she is in her second trimester–and Ben McKenzie wore a black pinstripe suit.

Baccarin and McKenzie began working together on Gotham in 2014. They announced this past September that they were dating, and just days later shared their baby news, too.

This will be the first child for Ben McKenzie– a former O.C. star. He and Morena Baccarin plan to marry, but she obviously will need to finalize her divorce with Austin Chick before that can take place.

Morena Baccarin Boasts Visible Baby Bump On NYC Date Night With Ben McKenzie Amidst Custody Turmoil

Morena Baccarin got all dressed up for a date night with boyfriend Ben McKenzie on Wednesday, but despite her efforts on just perfect dress, makeup, and hair, all eyes were on her baby bump. It’s growing rapidly, making Morena Baccarin a positively adorable pregnant woman.

It was at the Sierra Club’s Act in Paris that Morena Baccarin and Ben McKenzie enjoyed their date night. His arm was lovingly draped around her, as she sported a black and white sparkling dress that hugged her belly.

The former Homeland star is expecting her first child with Ben McKenzie. She already has a two-year-old son with estranged husband Austin Chick. Morena Baccarin and Chick are presently engaged in a bicoastal custody battle over Julian. Chick was going to relocate to New York to co-parent the little boy. That’s where Gotham, in which both Morena Baccarin and Ben McKenzie star, is filmed. When Austin Chick learned Baccarin and McKenzie were both seeing each other and expecting a baby together, he refused to relocate, preferring instead to remain in L.A.

“Austin was totally shocked when he found out about the affair,” a source tells E! News. “Totally blindsided. When Morena left him for Ben, Austin was devastated — completely shocked.”

Morena Baccarin is unable to travel frequently between New York and L.A. because of both her pregnancy and work.

Do you think Austin Chick will eventually relent and move to New York so he can spend more time with their son? Or will he fight for Morena Baccarin to start making the trip more frequently after her baby is born?

  • Jada Pinkett Smith Tells ‘Live! With Kelly and Michael’ She’s Leaving ‘Gotham’

Jada Pinkett Smith informed Live! With Kelly and Michael stars Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan on Friday that she likely won’t return for season two of Gotham. Smith plays the role of mobster Fish Mooney, a nightclub owner.

According to a report from People magazine, Jada Pinkett Smith only signed on the dotted line to stay one year on the show.

“I signed for a year, and the year is up,” she told Ripa and Strahan. “But, there are some great things coming ahead on Gotham–believe you me, there’s a lot of good stuff coming.”

Fish Mooney was one of very few new additions to DC Comics’s Batman universe. Jada Pinkett Smith loves that she got the opportunity to portray the character.

“It definitely has been a real creative joy to have this opportunity to help create this character,” she told People.

She even referred to herself in the third person as she went on to explain her role.

“Fish really gives Jada an opportunity to get into some stuff that Jada wouldn’t and express herself in a way that Jada wouldn’t. Fish goes for it, and I love that about her,” Pinkett Smith explained.

Before retiring Fish Mooney, Jada Pinkett Smith will still get to have some fun with the character. Fox released a statement about the storyline.

“Fish Mooney’s storyline takes a lot of interesting twists and turns into the finale of season one of Gotham,” the statement reads in part.

Have you had the pleasure of watching Jada Pinkett Smith play Fish Mooney on Gotham? Will you check it out before the season finale and the retirement of the role?

Jada Pinkett Smith won’t say how Fish Mooney gets written off the show. Do you think she’s holding out for a possible comeback?

“She could show up anywhere, you never know!” she says.

That leaves things rather open-ended, don’t you think?

There are just four episodes of Gotham left before Jada Pinkett Smith exits the show.

  • Adrienne Banfield: See The Pic You Won’t Believe

How many people over the age of 60 would love to look like Jada Pinkett Smith’s mom Adrienne Banfield-Jones? The Gotham star took to Facebook on Friday and posted a picture of her 61-year-old mother walking out of the ocean wearing a bikini.

We’ve probably all seen Pinkett Smith in her bikini. The 43-year-old actress is not shy about sharing pictures of her six pack abs and ripped body on social media. However, her mother is right there with her in terms of overall fitness and fine physique.

Pinkett Smith wrote in the caption of the posted picture, “Willow took this shot of her grandmother, my mother, emerging from the ocean today. She is 61! I wanna be her when I grow up:) Happy Friday… J.”

Here’s the pic that is putting many 20-year-olds to shame:

Banfield-Jones got pregnant with Pinkett Smith when she was just in high school. Pinkett Smith’s grandparents played a big part in helping to raise her. Banfield-Jones married Pinkett Smith’s father, however, the marriage ended in divorce.

The Twitter world was also pretty impressed with Banfield-Jones’ amazing physique:

  • Netflix Gains Exclusive SVOD Rights To ‘Gotham’

Netflix Gains Exclusive SVOD Rights To ‘Gotham’

Netflix and Warner Bros. announced an agreement that will make Netflix the exclusive subscription VOD home of the upcoming television series Gotham, which is set to debut on FOX on September 22nd.

Netflix will get each season of the series following its linear broadcast, starting next year.

If you’re unfamiliar with the show’s premise, here’s how it’s described in the announcement:

The series draws on the origin story of Batman, taking place in Gotham City as young Detective (and future Commissioner) James Gordon and the recently orphaned Bruce Wayne meet in the troubled days before the arrival of the Dark Knight. With a stellar cast including Ben McKenzie (Southland, The O.C.), Donal Logue (Sons of Anarchy, Vikings, Terriers), Jada Pinkett Smith (The Matrix Reloaded, Ali, Collateral, HawthoRNe) and Sean Pertwee (The Musketeers, Elementary, Luther, The Tudors), the series follows Gordon’s rise from rookie detective to Police Commissioner as he navigates the layers of corruption that secretly rule Gotham City.

The action-packed series draws on the stories of the great DC Comics “Super-Villains and Vigilantes,” revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. The one-hour drama follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the genesis of one of the most popular superheroes of our time.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Netflix is likely paying a hefty sum. They’re reportedly paying $2 million per episode to get NBC drama The Blacklist, though that show has already established itself as a hit.

Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos explains the company’s thought process: “Gotham is the most anticipated new series of the fall season and we are thrilled to offer it to our members around the world. The Batman origin story is sure to have massive global appeal so it is fitting that, along with Warner Television, we have created a new model for distributing a show that international and domestic audiences will love.”

“In this era of new business models and expanding windows, this is an unprecedented deal for our company and our industry,” adds Jeffrey R. Schlesinger, President, Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Distribution. “While we typically license our programming country by country, we have licensed this very special series to Netflix on a multi-territory basis. Netflix is a perfect home for Gotham following its initial broadcast in each respective country, giving Netflix subscribers the opportunity to catch-up prior to the new season, whether they’re already fans or discovering it for the first time.”

On Tuesday, Netflix announced that it’s bringing back Hemlock Grove for one more season.

  • San Francisco Batkid Throws First Pitch at Giants Game

Miles Scott, better known as the famous Batkid, made a grand appearance Tuesday at the Giants stadium in California.

The 5-year-old boy, whose leukemia is on remission, became San Francisco’s superhero in 2013 through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The Greater Bay Area made a rendition of Gotham City and designed a stage of crimes where Batkid had to save the day, including the team’s mascot, Lou Seal, and a damsel in distress. President Obama left Batkid an endearing video message and the mayor even presented the miniature superhero with keys to the city.

Ever since then, Batkid’s stardom has taken off.

Tuesday’s event, however, was more of a celebration for the Giants’ home opener and game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Batkid was chosen as the honorary pitcher for the team and had the chance to throw out the first pitch during the ceremony.

He arrived at the park in a Batmobile styled Lamborghini, which he helped steer inside the arena.

Check out this Vine showing his impressive entrance:

As Batkid exited from the driver’s seat, he fixed his superhero helmet and waved to the roaring crowd. He was then greeted by baseball player and Giants pitcher Matt Cain and was led to the mound.

While alongside his partner Batman, he threw the first pitch.

It bounced off the ground a few times before making it to Cain, but there’s no denying that the kid has a strong arm for his age!

Cain and Batkid ended their bonding moment with some final snapshots and then San Francisco’s superhero fist pumped goodbye to the crowd.

  • David Mazouz Cast As Young Bruce Wayne In Fox’s “Gotham”

Fox’s new show Gotham has received its big casting parts with the recent addition of the characters Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne, who will be played by David Mazouz.

The show is essentially a prequel to Batman, and will focus on Bruce Wayne as the pre-teen billionaire, before he learns to fight, and develops the urge to seek justice.

Gotham could be compared to Smallville in a way, which focused on the early years of Clark Kent, following his years of growing up in high school with his adopted parents on Earth.

David Mazouz is 13 years old, and while most people probably do not recognize his name, he has appeared on a Fox show already. He previously played Kiefer Southerland’s mute son on the short-lived show Touch.

In addition to the casting of Mazouz, the character of Selina Kyle was also just cast. For those that are not super familiar with the world of Batman, Selina Kyle is the real name of Batman’s lover/nemesis Catwoman. The show will be used to give a bit of her history in addition to Wayne’s, as fans of the films have been left in the dark for the most part about where she came from.

Camren Bicondova, an actress who has not been seen on the screen before, will play Selina Kyle. Her character has been described as “a teenage orphan who is suspicious and wholly unpredictable; a street thief and skilled pickpocket, she’s dangerous when cornered.”

The plot of Gotham will center around Detective James Gordon, and his efforts to fight crime in the fictional city that everyone has come to be familiar with over time, where ambitious and creative criminals ruled the streets even before Batman rose to power.

Bruno Heller, who has worked on The Mentalist, has written the script for the pilot, and will serve as the executive producer. Danny Cannon will direct the pilot.

In addition to David Mazouz and Camren Bicondova, several other unknown actors have been cast in the upcoming series. However, there is one name that people are likely to recognize with the previous casting of Jada Pinkett Smith as Fish Mooney.

  • Jada Pinkett Smith Is Happy With Fuller Figure

Jada Pinkett Smith Is Happy With Fuller Figure

Jada Pinkett Smith took to Facebook to let the world know that she realizes that she has put on about 8 – 10 pounds, but she’s perfectly okay with it. And while she likes her new curves, she’s a bit concerned that her dress won’t fit come Sunday night when she walks the red carpet at the 86th Annual Academy Awards.

Smith noticed her extra pounds when a friend of hers posted a picture of the 42-year-old actress with her husband Will Smith and her daughter Willow. The photo was at a UFC match at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

She wrote on her personal Facebook page that she could clearly see the weight gain but that she liked it.

Perhaps Smith will keep the extra weight in order to pack more of punch for the upcoming Fox prequel Batman series called Gotham. The actress has been cast by Warner Bros. Television to play a villain named Fish Mooney. Never heard of her? That’s because it’s an original character that the new television show has created, she’s never appeared in any of the comics or Batman films. The villain is described as a “sadistic gangster boss and nightclub owner.”

Imdb.com’s tagline for the one hour drama, “The origin story behind Commissioner James Gordon’s rise to prominence in Gotham City in the years before Batman’s arrival.” The show will be set at the beginning of Gordon’s days as a policeman when he just meets a young boy named Bruce Wayne, perhaps while investigating the murder of his parents.

Ben McKenzie (Southland and The O.C.) has been cast as the lead character Jim Gordon. Bruno Heller, the creator of The Mentalist, will executive produce and write.
