  • Kelly Rutherford Not Only Loses Custody of Children, Can’t Bring them to U.S. Either

Kelly Rutherford lost custody of her two children, Hermes and Helena, to her ex-husband Daniel Giersch, following a six-year court battle. Not only doesn’t she have custody, but Kelly Rutherford can no longer bring her children to the United States. This means the former Gossip Girl star must travel to Monaco in order to visit them.

It was back in August that Kelly Rutherford refused to return her children to Monaco following a visit with her in the U.S. That no doubt played a huge role in the custody decision. At that time, New York Supreme Court Judge Ellen Frances Gesmer ordered Rutherford to return the children right away, and didn’t look favorably upon her failure to do so at the agreed time.

Michael Stutman is the head of the family group at Mishcon de Reya New York. He spoke to People magazine about the situation. He does not represent either Kelly Rutherford or Daniel Giersch.

“I would be surprised if she was allowed to take the children out of Monaco again without some level of security,” he said ahead of this week’s decision.

“Kelly’s failure to deliver the children…likely bought them a one-way ticket to Monaco. Given Kelly’s initial failure to send the children back, showing up without them was probably the nail in her coffin,” he added.

Of the judge’s decision, Stutman said, “The actions of Ms. Rutherford leading up to this ruling make the decision to award custody to Mr. Giersch the furthest thing from a surprise.”

“Any responsible lawyer would advise her to end this crusade for custody,” he added.

Were you surprised to learn that Kelly Rutherford lost custody of her two children?

  • Leighton Meester: ‘Gossip Girl’ Star and Husband Adam Brody Expecting Their First Baby

Leighton Meester, best known for her role as Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, is expecting her first baby. She and hubby Adam Brody are over the moon.

Us Weekly reports that Meester was spotted out and about in L.A., a couple of days ahead of their pregnancy announcement. Her baby bump was front and center, however, with absolutely no mistaking that she’s expecting.

It was Monday when the publication confirmed Leighton Meester and Adam Brody’s official news. The couple met back in 2011, on the set of The Oranges. They married in a secret ceremony–so secret that some of their former costars weren’t even invited–in February of 2014.

“I did not go to his wedding. I think they wanted to kind of keep it super low-profile, so I did not take umbrage,” The O.C.’s Ben McKenzie said in an interview at the time. “His wife is awesome. Leighton’s great.”

In addition to acting, Leighton Meester has quite the set of vocal cords. The actress has both written and recorded music in the past few years–even singing with Tony Bennett in an episode of Entourage. She made her Broadway debut in 2014 alongside James Franco, starring in Of Mice and Men.

In addition to the titles of actress, singer, and wife, Leighton Meester will soon be able to add ‘mother’ to her repertoire of talents.

Last August, Leighton Meester and Adam Brody joked about how many kids they planned to have.

I say twelve,” he quipped. “And I decide.”

Perhaps this pregnancy will wind up being just one of many for Leighton Meester?

  • Nina Dobrev Admits to Being A ‘Snaughler,’ But What Is That?

Nina Dobrev admitted recently that she is a ‘snaughler.’ Okay. But what the heck is a snaughler? It isn’t found in the dictionary. It doesn’t seem like one of those new, hip words that emerge every year or so.

The Vampire Diaries star claims she is among a certain breed of people who snort and laugh every time they find something to be funny. Apparently ‘to snaughle’ is to do exactly that–snort and laugh when something is funny. Those who do so are from this point forward referred to as ‘snaughlers.’

Nina Dobrev made her bold admission via her WhoSay page.

Nina apparently enjoyed lots of laughs at a Halloween party in Beverly Hills–at the home of Mike Meldman–on Friday night. In fact, she laughed so hard (hopefully not because she drank so much) she needed a man’s assistance getting to her car. That man wore white face paint. Nina Dobrev wore all black for the masquerade bash that was hosted by Rachel Zalis, a noted fashion guru.

Something Nina hasn’t been laughing about recently is the relationship between her ex-boyfriend Ian Somerhalder and his new girlfriend Nikki Reed. In fact at one point, Nina even said she wanted Nikki banned from the Vampire Diaries set because her presence was making her uncomfortable. Producers were ready to oblige. Recently, however, Nina has reportedly spent lots of time talking with BFF Jessica Szohr, who also went through a similar split. Szohr dated her Gossip Girl costar Ed Westwick for more than two years. She understands perfectly what Nina Dobrev is going through.

“It’s really great for Nina to have someone to talk to that can understand what she’s going through with Ian. Jessica had to work with Ed when they were broken up so she totally gets all the weird feelings that go with it,” a source told Hollywood Life. “She’s friends with Nikki too so she’s trying not to take sides. She’s working on getting them to talk things out and make up but she’s not pushing; she’s definitely on Team Nina if it came down to that.”

Do you suppose that one day Nina Dobrev will ‘snaughle’ over the whole ordeal with Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed? Probably not. But hopefully she will at least be able to look back on the situation with far less animosity.

  • Leighton Meester To Make Broadway Debut Next Year

Leighton Meester has played the character Blair Waldorf on the CW’s Gossip Girls for years. Now, she is moving from her previous character’s New York Upper East Side apartment to life on the ranch in her Broadway debut of John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men.

Meester will join James Franco and Chris O’Dowd in the revival of the unlikely story of two field workers, George and Lennie, during the Great Depression. The producers announced on Monday that Meester, who also starred in Country Strong, had been chosen to play the part of a ranch boss’ wife, and a woman that intrigues the mentally challenged Lennie. This is exciting news for all of the Broadway enthusiasts as Of Mice and Men has not been shown on Broadway in over 40 years. The performances will start in March at the Longacre Theatre in New York and will be directed by Anna D. Shapiro.

This is the second big thing to happen to Meester in less than a month. Although she has tried to keep her relationship out of the spotlight as much as possible, it was confirmed last month that Meester is now engaged to her boyfriend, Adam Brody. So far, no dates have been set for their wedding.
