  • Emily Blunt to Star in Bestselling Mystery Adaptation of “The Girl on the Train” in 2016

Emily Blunt is set to star in the film adaptation of the bestselling mystery, The Girl on the Train. The film will be released in October of 2016.

If you’ve read The Girl on the Train, you know that the big screen adaptation will no doubt hook viewers from the start, then take them on a ride with twists and turns that hopefully parallel the book. Emily Blunt will star as the woman who believes she witnessed a crime in a house she passes while riding on a train.

The Girl on the Train has been compared with Gone Girl. Author Paula Hawkins spoke with Time magazine about the similarities.

“It’s flattering to be compared to Gone Girl because I think Gone Girl is a great book. I actually think that atmosphere of the book is closer to Hitchcock,” she said. “But I suppose both books have a very flawed female protagonist at their heart and are women who maybe are not what they seem.”

In addition to Emily Blunt, The Girl on the Train will also star Rebecca Ferguson, Justin Theroux, and Allison Janney. Jared Leto and Chris Evans are in talks to sign on.

Fans of The Girl on the Train can likely picture Emily Blunt in the starring role. Presently starring in Sicario, Blunt is creating Oscar buzz in her role as an FBI agent fighting a Mexican drug cartel.

The announcement of Emily Blunt’s lead in The Girl on the Train gives movie-goers something to look forward to next fall. It will be fascinating to see how the book translates to the big screen.

  • Emily Ratajkowski of ‘Gone Girl’ Dishes On Beauty and Workout (or Lack Thereof) Routine

Emily Ratajkowski has been a hot ticket of late as she promotes her new film with Zac Efron, We Are Your Friends.

So how does Gone Girl star get red carpet ready?

    Apparently, effortlessly.

In an interview with The New York Times, Ratajkowski shared her frank opinions on beauty and fitness.

“I don’t have a trainer, and I don’t really go to the gym. I go on long walks and hikes with my girlfriends,” Emily freely admitted. “That’s about it. I’m just not a crazy fitness person. I’m definitely an outlier in the industry.”

The 24-year-old beauty rides the L.A. health craze when it comes to her diet, although she doesn’t seem to be a stickler about what goes into her slim figure.

“For me, it’s about feeling good about what you eat. I do love turmeric and beet juices. It’s so L.A., you can’t avoid it.”

When it comes to makeup, the actress said her regime is minimal.

“I have really big features, so a little makeup goes a long way. I would hate to look like a clown. During the day, I use Glossier Perfecting Skin Tint. I’m using the dark color because I have a bit of a tan. I’m not sure it really covers much, but it evens me out.”

Emily also says she is not really big on perfume.

“I actually don’t wear fragrance,” said Ratajkowski. “I always feel like I smell cheap. I guess I just haven’t found one that’s not overpowering or too sweet. Even when I try one of the super masculine scents, I just think, ‘I don’t want to smell like a man.’ Besides, I like my own scent.”

Despite her minimal beauty and fitness routine, there is one indulgence that Emily swears by — Korean Spas.

“My big treat is that once a month I go to a Korean spa. The one I go to, called Natura, is not as popular as the ones most of Hollywood goes to. I usually go about 40 minutes before my appointment, and you can get into all these different pools. Then you get a body scrub, and you’re lying there naked with 20 other women. They just treat you like a piece of meat, but it’s worth it. Then you shower, and I like the acupressure massage. Those ladies are strong! They even put grated cucumber on your face.”

Keeping it simple seems to work for the beautiful Emily Ratajkowski.

  • Charlize Theron Too Tall For New Film, But Perfect For The Story

Charlize Theron Too Tall For New Film, But Perfect For The Story

Charlize Theron’s new movie is a bit of a challenge for her, in one way. In other ways it was very close to home.

The film is Dark Places, based on the book by Gillian Flynn, who wrote the wildly successful book and film, Gone Girl.

Charlize Theron will portray Libby Day, a woman whose mother and two sisters were murdered in the 1980s. Her own brother went to prison for the murders. Libby has grown up certain that her brother Ben was the murderer. But she ends up talking with a group of people who have their doubts.

“I knew going in that I was kind of up against a wall,” Theron says. “This character was written 5’2″ and red hair. So for me it became very important right from the beginning to figure out a way to get the essence of her across.”

Dark Places producer Cathy Schulman says of Theron, “All of her performances have shown some kind of a strange combination of inner pain and absolute vulnerability.”

“I just think she has that right amount of toughness to her,” adds Gillian Flynn.

The film is set in a series of flashes back and forth in time, looking at Ben as a child, Libby’s mom and sisters, and the circumstances around the murders.

Charlize Theron recently revealed that she brought some of her won real-life experience to the role of Libby Day.

Charlize Theron spoke about the incident she used to prep for the role.

“I did experience a very traumatic experience, an event, in my life. And somehow it’s formed me. My character goes through this ordeal when she’s 8 years old, and it really is examining what trauma does to a child, especially when she’s expected to speak about it. And that’s definitely something I can relate to, that’s definitely something I’ve experienced in my life. As far as events go, they’re very similar. There’s a murder [in the film], while my situation was a very unfortunate incident with self-defense.”

When Charlize Theron was 15 years old, her mother killed her father. Her dad had fired a gun into her bedroom and threatened to kill her. He had been out drinking.

Charlize Theron has said that the incident is a part of who she is, but does not define her.

“I know that if my daughter was in the same situation, I would do the same thing [my mother did]. It’s a part of me, but it doesn’t rule my life.”

  • Denise Huskins, “Gone Girl” Inspiration, Vindicated After Arrest Of Alleged Kidnapper

Denise Huskins and her boyfried, Aaron Quinn, have been vindicated after the arrest of Huskins’ alleged kidnapper.

The FBI announced on Monday that Matthew Muller, a former marine, Harvard law graduate, and former California bar member, was arrested for the kidnapping.

Denise Huskins reported to police that she was taken from her home in Vallejo, California on March 23 after a group of people broke into their house, tied up her boyfriend, and kidnapped her.

Denise Huskins also reported that she was sexually assaulted twice.

After reporting the crime, Denise Huskins’ case was initially publically labeled a hoax after inconsistencies and confusion fell on the investigation. However, Denise Huskins and Aaron Quinn continued to insist that they were telling the truth.

On Tuesday, Denise Huskins and Aaron Quinn appeared at a press conference.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7XM0aC2pQI

Huskins’ attorney Doug Rappaport said, “Today is a fabulous day for Denise Huskins and Aaron Quinn. Nearly four months ago we told you she was innocent, that she was the victim of a violent crime … Today there is vindication.”

He then called the alleged kidnapper a “psychopath” and added, “What they are interested in is getting their reputation back, their lives back and moving on. No matter how bizarre the facts are we were confident these were good people.”

Daniel Russo, Quinn’s attorney, said of the suspect, “Mr. Muller could spend the rest of his life in prison and it’s not going to resolve the issue. What I want is for the Vallejo PD to do their job.”

He added, “Go out, find out if there are other guys out there and make sure that next time this happens they think before they talk.”

What do you think of the crazy story of vindication for Denise Huskins?

  • Rob Kardashian Angry, Insulted by Sister Kim Kardashian West’s Comments During ‘Rolling Stone’ Interview

Rob Kardashian and his sister Kim Kardashian West have had their issues in the past, but recently have gotten along much better–that is until Kim talked about her brother during her recent cover story for Rolling Stone magazine. It was during that interview that she caused things to go from better to much worse with the insensitive wagging of her tongue.

“Rob and Kim had been cool again and were getting along,” a source told Us Weekly. “Now he’s furious at her again for her comments to Rolling Stone. He was been bitching her out on her phone. He’s mad–pissed as hell.”

What did Kim say to get Rob Kardashian all worked up?

It seems Rolling Stone asked her about her younger brother–specifically where he has been since sometime back in 2013.

“It’s not that mysterious, what’s happening with Rob,” she said. “He has gained weight. He feels uncomfortable being on the show, and that’s OK.”

“Do I think he smokes weed, drinks beer, hangs out and plays video games with his friends all day long? Yes,” she continued.

Then she was asked if hookers and meth might be Rob Kardashian’s real problem.

This is when Kim Kardashian should have stuffed a sock in her mouth.

“No no,” she told them. “Or he’d be skinny.”

“Rob has blocked Kim on his phone,” the source tells Us. “He doesn’t want to hear what she has to say. He says there’s no excuse she could possibly have for saying that. He will not forgive her.”

It wasn’t so long ago that Rob Kardashian was mad at Kim for being “two-faced” about his weight and depression issues. He even posted a photo of Gone Girl actress Rosamund Pike to his Instagram page, and compared Kim Kardashian to her character–who was a psychopathic murderer.

Should Kim Kardashian be prepared for a new derogatory post from Rob? He only recently deleted the Gone Girl reference from his Instagram account.

Who might Rob Kardashian choose this time to depict his sister?

Do you agree that Kim’s comments about her brother were a bit insensitive? Is there much thought at all when the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star opens her mouth?

  • Rob Kardashian: Kylie Jenner Shares Her Love in Instagram Pic

Rob Kardashian got some love from little sister Kylie Jenner recently, when she shared a photo of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star on her Instagram account.

Of course the photo Kylie shared of Rob was one taken prior to his 100-pound weight gain.

As anyone who follows the Keeping Up With the Kardashians saga knows, Rob Kardashian has struggled in recent months with self-esteem issues. Some, including his mom, Kris Jenner, thinks he is depressed.

Kylie’s post is no doubt a show of support for Rob while he is hurting.

“My best friend, my heart, my brother,” she captioned the shot.

A photo posted by Kylizzle (@kyliejenner) on

Rob Kardashian doesn’t have a particularly great reputation on Instagram–at least not according to his sister Kim Kardashian. It wasn’t so long ago that he posted a bizarre, bloody photo of Gone Girl star Rosamund Pike, comparing it to his sister Kim. He captioned that photo, “the bitch from Gone Girl.”

Kris Jenner tried to get some help from her son, but–as usual–the intervention of sorts was aired on an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

“I cry myself to sleep literally every night worrying about [Rob],” Kris said. “It’s breaking my heart.”

Kim Kardashian insisted that the family makes life too easy for Rob Kardashian, and spoke out in favor of a tough love approach instead.

“We’re not gonna cater to him anymore, but it has to be all of us,” she said.

Perhaps Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, and the rest of the Keeping Up With the Kardashians gang should simply have a private conversation with Rob Kardashian–away from the cameras. Maybe if he finds his family members to be sincere about him needing help, rather than making a big deal of it for TV ratings, he might feel a bit more inclined to get some.

At least Rob has Kylie Jenner in his corner–if only to show support via Instagram.

  • Kris Jenner: Can ‘Keeping Up With the Kardashians’ Momager Save Rob Kardashian from Himself?

Kris Jenner is typically all about the Keeping Up With the Kardashians franchise, but on an upcoming episode of the reality show, she seems to be something akin to a mother. Of course since it’s for the show, she gets twofold credit for her efforts.

It’s no secret that Rob Kardashian has been spiraling down some deep, dark hole for quite some time now, and Kris Jenner is becoming increasingly concerned. On this weekend’s episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, she calls in a life coach to see how they can all work together to save Rob–mostly from himself.

“I feel like if I don’t help him do something drastic, that he’s gonna die,” Kris says in a preview for the episode.

Daughters Kim and Kourtney Kardashian are present as well. Khloe Kardashian wasn’t invited because, as Kris Jenner says, everyone knows she’s very protective of Rob.

“He was always someone who was very athletic growing up, and he’s gained over 100 pounds in the last year,” Kris tells the life coach. “He doesn’t want to participate. He doesn’t go out of the house. He’s missed Christmas, he’s missed Kim’s wedding.”

“He obviously has some kind of depression,” Kim Kardashian adds. “He is the king of excuses …I’m the only one that’s really tough with him so he probably avoids me the most.”

Rob Kardashian didn’t win any brownie points with Kim recently when he posted a picture of Gone Girl star Rosamund Pike, covered in blood, and captioned it, “This is my sister Kim, the b**ch from Gone Girl.” He has since deleted the post.

Kim Kardashian feels a tough love approach is the only way to help her brother.

“Everyone licks Rob’s ass and does whatever he says,” she told Kris Jenner during another preview of Sunday’s episode. “It’s just like, at some point you just have to give it up. We all make his life so easy.”

Do you think Kris Jenner has what it takes to save Rob Kardashian from himself? Is a life coach the right kind of person to call in for help?

And how will having this ordeal play itself out on Keeping Up With the Karashians benefit Rob at all? Isn’t this something Kris Jenner, and perhaps Kim and Kourtney Kardashian, should deal with privately instead of in front of the cameras?

  • Kardashian “Gone Girl” Pic Might Have Been A Hacker

Kardashian Gone Girl isn’t a phrase you see every day, but it’s taken over the web this week after Rob Kardashian–brother to those famous sisters–reportedly posted a photo of the lead female character in the film and attached a strange caption to it.

The photo–of actress Rosamund Pike as she appears at the end of the film, covered in blood–appeared on Rob’s Instagram account over the weekend, along with the caption, “This is my sister kim , the bitch from Gone Girl,,,” Fans and followers of his account seemed unsure as to how to take the pic, and now every other photo has been deleted from the page.

Kim Kardashian hasn’t commented on the incident, although according to CNN, Rob reportedly stopped following his family members on Instagram over the weekend and then apparently changed his mind. Because all other photos on the account disappeared, some are wondering if the Gone Girl photo is the work of a hacker, but according to HollywoodLife, Rob and Kim have a history of turbulence in their relationship, with Rob feeling left out as she, Khloe and Kourtney dominate headlines and advance their careers.

This is my sister kim , the bitch from Gone Girl,,,

A photo posted by ROBERT KARDASHIAN (@robkardashian) on

Khloe Kardashian says that Rob is suffering from depression and has withdrawn quite a bit from the ever-watchful eye of the media, especially recently.

“I just feel, especially over the last year, Rob has become very introverted and has a kind of social anxiety. He’s definitely not at his happiest place that he once was, and I know he can get to that happy place and he will,” she told Wonderwall.com

According to E! News, a source close to the family says there’s a very simple explanation for the photo.

“He’s just being crazy and he thinks it’s funny. He can just be a little bizarre with his humor.”

  • Rob Kardashian Disses Kim Kardashian on Instagram, Kris Jenner Angry

Rob Kardashian lashed out recently at sister Kim Kardashian by comparing her to the villain in the recent film Gone Girl. Khloe Kardashian has come to Rob’s defense, saying he suffers from anxiety and that his post might even be a cry for help.

Kris Jenner doesn’t see it that way at all, however. Instead she believes Rob Kardashian is simply trying to bash the entire Keeping Up With the Kardashians franchise.

Rob Kardashian posted a picture of actress Rosamund Pike on his Instagram account recently, and captioned it as follows:

“This is my sister kim , the bitch from Gone Girl.”

It’s beyond clear that Kim Kardashian West has done something to wind up so high on Rob Kardashian’s sh*t list–don’t you think?

A source tells Hollywood Life that Rob isn’t going to get away with what he’s done–at least where Kris Jenner is concerned.

“Instead of seeing Rob’s Instagram as a cry for help Kris is pissed that Rob is taking to social media to bash the family,” the source explains. “She has told Rob to apologize to Kim but he has refused which is only getting Kris more heated. Kris really doesn’t know how to deal with the men in her life and she can add Rob and his troubles to the list choosing to be upset over what he has done rather than getting him even more help.”

This certainly isn’t the first time that Rob Kardashian and Kim Kardashian West have been at odds. He didn’t even stay at her wedding to Kanye West because the two reportedly got into a fight over what he was supposed to wear to the main event.

Of course this isn’t Kris Jenner’s battle to fight, but being the ‘momager’ that she is, she’s typically far more concerned about the Keeping Up With the Kardashians reputation than she is about the well-being of her children. She has even distanced herself from ex-hubby Bruce Jenner recently because she supposedly fears the hype over his coming out as transgender might impact her own status.

Fortunately Khloe Kardashian remains in Rob Kardashian’s court. At least he has one strong family member to count on.

“We all kind of get to a place where you don’t know where to go in life or whatever, so I think it’s important for him to know that he always has people to lean on and it’s not unnatural for people to not know even where to begin. It’s a growing process. I will always be his No. 1 supporter,” Khloe said recently.

What do you make of Rob’s Instagram post of Kim Kardashian? Do you think he merely has an ax to grind or is he in some way crying out for help?

  • Charlize Theron, Arnold Schwarzenegger in Australia

Charlize Theron will reportedly join Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger in Australia next Sunday at the Formula 1 Rolex Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park. It is expected that Sean Penn and Theron’s adopted son, Jackson, will be on hand as well.

Arnold Schwarzenegger will already be in Australia around that time, which makes meeting up with Charlize Theron even more convenient. The former governor of California will be there for the Arnold Classic Australia event, which curates a collection of bodybuilding competitions and fitness expos at the Melbourne Convention And Exhibition Centre.

Charlize Theron recently filmed Dark Places–a movie based on yet another book by Gillian Flynn. Flynn wrote the book upon which the movie Gone Girl is based. Theron plays the survivor of an horrific murder, in which her mother and sisters were killed, in the 1980s.

She is presently lending her voice to an animated film called Kubo and the Two Strings. The movie tells the tale of Kubo, who has a quiet, normal life in his small village until a spirit from the past turns his life upside down by re-igniting an age-old vendetta.

Charlize Theron made news in recent weeks for a comment Sean Penn made about their relationship. When asked about his ‘girlfriend’ by a reporter, he insisted she wasn’t merely a girlfriend, but ‘the love of his life.’

Fans will no doubt look forward to checking out some pictures of Charlize Theron with Arnold Schwarzenegger–along with Sean Penn and Jackson–next week in Australia. Even those who aren’t racing fans will enjoy catching a glimpse of the blonde beauty.

  • Charlize Theron Stars in New ‘Dark Places’ Trailer

Charlize Theron will soon star in a new film based on a book by Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn. Dark Places tells the story of a mother and two sisters who were murdered in the 1980s. Their son/brother went to prison for the crimes. Charlize Theron plays the role of Libby–the third daughter and surviving sister. Libby witnessed–or so she believes–the murders.

Certain of her brother’s guilt, Libby eventually begins questioning her past. This is where Charlize Theron shines.

While the twists and turns aren’t quite as startling as those in Gone Girl, Dark Places doesn’t disappoint.

Since there isn’t yet a release date scheduled for the U.S., the following trailer features French subtitles. The film opens in France on April 8th.

Dark Places has been in the works since 2012. Since it’s such a dark–no pun intended–movie, it won’t be an easy or pleasant watch. Amy Adams was initially cast in the role that Charlize Theron now fills. Christina Hendricks also stars in Dark Places, as Libby in her later life.

Outside of the film world, Charlize Theron has recently made news for her relationship with Sean Penn. Penn recently described her to the media as ‘the love of his life,’ as he instructed a reporter not to refer to her as ‘his girlfriend.’

Does Dark Places sound like a film you’ll head to the theater to see–if and when it makes its way to the United States? It definitely sounds like the kind of role Charlize Theron can bring to life–while dealing with death–on the big screen.

  • Gelila Bekele and Tyler Perry Welcome Their First Child, A Son

Gelila Bekele and boyfriend Tyler Perry welcomed their first child this week, and it’s a baby boy.

The 28-year-old model, who has been dating the 45-year-old actor for five years, gave birth to their little boy, Aman Tyler Perry, on Sunday, Nov. 30.

“Mom and baby are happy and healthy,” a source told People. “Tyler is so excited … He’s over the moon.”

According to People, Aman means peace and represents “the true meaning of Thanksgiving and then, of course, the holiday season.”

While speaking to Extra in September, Perry spilled the beans that he and Bekele were expecting a boy. Having had a difficult relationship with his own father, the actor told Jerry Penacoli he was planning on being a very different sort of father.

“The greatest gift I’m being given right now is the opportunity to give the little boy in me everything I never had, so that’s what I’m excited about,” he said. “This beautiful human being that God has allowed to come into my life for me to get to know.”

Perry recently created the OWN network soap opera If Loving You is Wrong and starred with Ben Affleck in David Fincher’s adaptation of the Gillian Flynn novel, Gone Girl. He will next appear in Madea’s Tough Love.

  • Ben Affleck Didn’t Have To Prepare Much For “Gone Girl”

Ben Affleck knows how to turn on the charm with a lopsided smile, but he also knows what it feels like to be hounded by the press over his personal life, and both of those things helped him when it came time to portray a grief-stricken husband in Gone Girl.

The film–based on the bestselling novel by Gillian Flynn and directed by David Fincher–tells the story of a man who has just uprooted his wife Amy in order to move back to his childhood town, only to have her disappear one day from their home with telltale signs of a struggle. As he’s drawn into an increasingly crazy mystery surrounding his wife’s life up to the day of her disappearance, he also becomes a suspect and the person the town points to when it becomes clear that something bad has happened to Amy.

“It wasn’t something I had to do a lot of research for. I knew what it was like to have the tabloid world paying attention to me and ascribing negative motivations to whatever I might be engaging in. I knew what it was to be cast in a soap opera I had no control over,” Affleck said.

Those who have read the book can see from the trailer that it appears to hold pretty closely to Flynn’s story, and Affleck is the perfect actor to play Nick Dunne, a handsome guy, aloof at times, charming, seemingly unsure of just how bad everything around him has gotten because he’s never had to answer for anything. Fincher knew from the start he had his guy.

“We knew we needed somebody who was charming and could be seductive, who could be a ladies man, a guy’s guy, a frat boy,” Fincher says. “But most important, [someone] who had the wits and experience of knowing that situation. The gift of having Ben Affleck is that this is a guy who knows,” Fincher said.

  • Gone Girl Trailer: Eerie Clip Piles On The Mystery

Chilling, eerie, mysterious, and suspenseful are all great adjectives to describe the latest trailer for the film Gone Girl.

20th Century Fox released the first official teaser trailer for the Ben Affleck whodunit back in April. Over the holiday weekend, eager moviegoers got a look at four different very creepy new posters for the film. Today, we got to see the latest trailer.

Gone Girl, which was helmed by auteur director David Fincher, has a similar look to one of his earlier films, the neo-noir Se7en, which was also a murder mystery. The trailer also features the eerie mood music of Trent Reznor, who won an Academy Award for Best Original Score for his work on another Fincher film, The Social Network. We are also introduced to a possible second suspect (or perhaps just a red herring) in Amy Dunne’s disappearance, Neil Patrick Harris who plays the role of Desi Collings.

In the trailer, viewers are given reasons why Ben Affleck’s character Nick Dunne would kill his wife. Amy even wrote in her diary before her disappearance that she was scared that he would kill her. However, we also see Nick convincingly deny the allegations. And as the media circus builds around his wife’s disappearance, Nick is forced to do a television interview to get his side of the story out there. The interviewer (played by Sela Ward) even calls Nick “the most hated man in America.”

Did Nick kill his wife or didn’t he? The trailer also gives us a good look at other key cast members in the film including Tyler Perry, Casey Wilson, and Patrick Fugit. The clip keeps the suspense at a high point without revealing any key information.

    Check it out:

Gone Girl does not open in theaters until October 3. The film is based on Gillian Flynn’s enormously popular 2012 novel of the same name. The book was #1 on the New York Times Hardcover Fiction Bestseller list for eight weeks and also spent 26 weeks on National Public Radio’s hardcover fiction bestseller list.

Tell us what you think of the new trailer. And if you’ve read the book, please NO SPOILERS in the comment section.

  • Elizabeth Olsen Talks Engagement, Wedding Plans

Elizabeth Olsen is talking about her engagement and wedding plans with big sister Mary-Kate Olsen. Elizabeth became engaged to boyfriend, highly anticipated Gone Girl star Boyd Holbrook, in March. Mary-Kate is engaged to Olivier Sarkozy, the half-brother of the former president of France.

The conversations Elizabeth and Mary-Kate have had recently are detailed in the June issue of Marie Claire UK.

“I’m relaxed about it, but I am excited and planning ideas because it’s fun,” she says within the magazine’s pages. “It’s just like throwing a party to celebrate life. I love being in a relationship a lot.”

Elizabeth Olsen also talked about the possibility of starting a family.

“My mother would love it if I was in L.A. with kids. I loved growing up in L.A., but I always think about places I’ve never been to before, like Oregon,” she says.

Elizabeth and Boyd dated for about two years before becoming engaged. Sister Mary-Kate Olsen and Olivier Sarkozy haven’t set a wedding date but that hasn’t kept the famous sisters from comparing notes–including about when each will actually tie the knot.

“I just told her she gets to pick a date first,” Elizabeth said in the magazine article. “Older sisters first!”

The Godzilla actress even slipped in a compliment to both of the Olsen twins.

“Because my sisters were so grounded, it helped me to be grounded. They never got caught up in things,” she said.

How long do you think Elizabeth Olsen will wait for Mary-Kate Olsen to marry Olivier Sarkozy before she plans her own wedding? Rumor has it Mary-Kate isn’t in a rush to take that walk down the aisle. Certainly Elizabeth won’t wait forever to marry the man of her dreams.

Do you think sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will design sister Elizabeth Olsen’s wedding dress for her?

  • Gone Girl Trailer Gives Us First Look At David Fincher’s New Thriller

Gone Girl was a best selling thriller in 2012 that asked readers if protagonist Nick Dunne killed his wife. It’s been two years since Gillian Flynn’s novel started to fly off store shelves, and now we have the first trailer for the film adaptation.

As you may or may not know, the film adaptation of Gone Girl is being directed by David Fincher and stars Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne. Here’s the official synopsis:

Based upon the global bestseller by Gillian Flynn, Gone Girl unearths the secrets at the heart of a modern marriage. On the occasion of his 5th wedding anniversary, Nick (Ben Affleck) reports that his beautiful wife, Amy (Rosamund Pike), has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick’s portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits and strange behavior have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick kill his wife?

The first trailer gives us a look at Affleck’s performance as the tortured husband who may or may not have murdered his wife. Through this early look, we can already see that Affleck will be turning in another stellar performance. The rest of the cast seems fitting as well with Pike playing what may be two separate wives – one that may be a concoction of Dunne’s psyche and one that may be reality. In any case, it looks to be a fascinating film that will have viewers on the edge of their seats. Check it out:

Alongside the trailer, Fox has released the promotional poster for the film:

To help promote the film, co-star Rosamund Pike has also adorned the cover of this month’s W Magazine:

  • #GoneGirl: New David Fincher Movie Starring Ben Affleck Blazes in with New Trailer

David Fincher’s newest movie, Gone Girl, will not be in theaters until October 3rd, a good six months from now, but the trailer has been released now. For the most part, buzz has been created. The New York Daily News declared “Holy dark character dramas, Batman!”, since the drama stars Ben Affleck (but not as batman). Also featured are actors Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Missi Pyle, and Tyler Perry.

Like Fincher’s previous movie, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl is based on a book. The story involves a husband and his missing wife, but according to Entertainment Weekly, she might be dead, or murdered, or kidnapped, or something else entirely. Affleck may play the good guy, or he might be the killer. “I don’t know what ‘likable’ is. I know people who are doting parents, who give to charity, drive Priuses, all those things, who are insufferable a- -holes,” Fincher told Weekly, “I like people who get s - - - done.” So is Affleck’s character an “insufferable a- -hole” or will he “get s - - - done”?

The whole affair is really up in the air. Fincher said he “may have been too beholden to the source material” when making The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo, which will not be a problem since he has the writer of the novel restructuring the story. Author Gillian Flynn said “There was something thrilling about taking this piece of work that I’d spent about two years painstakingly putting together with all its eight million LEGO pieces and take a hammer to it and bash it apart and reassemble it into a movie.” The Film Stage reported Flynn showed the new ending to Affleck who was “so shocked by it. He would say, ‘This is a whole new third act! She literally threw that third act out and started from scratch.’”

New material did not stop the trailer from borrowing material from other movies. The song that played through the trailer was “She”, covered by Richard Butler, lead singer of the Psychedelic Furs. Although the original song was written in 1974 by Charles Aznavour, it was made famous by Elvis Costello when he covered it in the movie Notting Hill.

And could it just be said that the second to last line of the trailer is suspiciously similar to the movie The Fugitive? E! News explained that the line references other characters in the movie who do not believe Affleck’s character’s innocence. Hopefully the killer doesn’t turn out to be a man with one arm.

  • “Gone Girl” Releases Teaser Trailer Starring Ben Affleck [Video]

For anyone that has read the book, and for some that haven’t, Gone Girl is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film will be another intense thriller for Ben Affleck, and features a mysterious tale about his wife going missing.

Gone Girl stars Ben Affleck as Nick Dunne, a man who’s wife goes missing on the day of their wedding anniversary. She mysteriously disappears, and as Nick desperately tries to find out what happen, he also becomes a suspect. While the trailer is now being unveiled, fans initially got excited when the film’s first picture was released.

As with every police investigation, he becomes a suspect in his wife Amy Dunne’s disppearance, but in the trailer, he can be heard saying “I did not kill my wife.” The question is, what did happen to her? 20th Century Fox released the film’s first teaser on Monday, and there will surely be more to come before the film’s release.

The film is based on the novel Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. The book was published in 2012, and quickly went on the New York Times’ best seller list. In addition to Gone Girl, Flynn has also written Sharp Objects and Dark Places, which also has a film coming out later this year.

The book begins with Amy already missing, but goes back and forth between a narrative of the search for her, and her diary entries, which slowly start to give clues about what may have happened to her. Rosamund Pike plays the role of Amy Dunne, a woman who is dealing with a tough marriage, and what plays out is an incredibly thrilling plot that had readers around the world hooked.

In addition to Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike, the film features a cast that includes Neil Patrick Harris, Patrick Fugit, Tyler Perry, and Kim Dickens. The film is directed by David Fincher, who has done previous hit films such as Fight Club, The Social Network, and Seven.

Gone Girl will be released in theaters on October 3rd, 2014. Fans of the Gillian Flynn’s other book, Dark Places, will also want to keep that book’s adaptation on their radar, which will be released on September 14, 2014.

  • Reese Witherspoon Teams Up With Lionsgate For Upcoming YA Trilogy

The book series has not even been written yet, but Reese Witherspoon is already excited enough that she is on board with Lionsgate to produce an upcoming trilogy.

Lionsgate has acquired the film rights to the unwritten books, with the release date of the films of course being unknown. The series will be a young adult trilogy called The Outliers, and will be written by Kimberly McCreight.

The first book of the trilogy will be available in bookstores late in 2015, but Reese Witherspoon has great confidence that it will be successful, possibly due to the success of Kimberly McCreight’s recent novel.

Reese Witherspoon has had a great deal of experience as a producer already, and particular with films that have been adapted from novels. Prior to The Outliers, she has been a producer on Legally Blonde 2, Penelope, Wild, and the incredibly popular Gone Girl, which is set to hit theaters later this year, and stars Ben Affleck.

The young adult series will be the follow up to Kimberly McCreight’s debut novel Reconstructing Amelia, which was a huge success. That novel was released in December of 2013, and appeared on the New York Times hardbound bestseller list the first week after being published.

According to Variety, The Outliers will center around a young woman who has her best friend go missing. Her friend turns up in a remote spot in the woods, and is found with a group of people that call themselves The Outliers.

They are a strange group of people who claim to be able to harness “intuition,” and turn it into a powerful psychological weapon. The main character joins the Outliers in the hopes of rescuing her friend, but soon finds herself running for her life.

McCreight’s debut novel even drew comparisons to Gone Girl, and follows a mother in search of what happened to her teenage daughter, following her mysterious death. It is currently being turned into a film with Nicole Kidman in the lead.

Reese Witherspoon looks to continue her success as a producer, and perhaps hopes that it can even encourage people to read more, as people often want to read the books that the films are based on before they are released.

Lionsgate looks to be the dominant studio with YA franchises after obtaining the rights to this series, and has already had great success with both The Twilight Saga and The Hunger Games, which still has two films set to be released.

In addition to Reese Witherspoon, Todd Lieberman, David Hoberman, and Bruna Papandrea will serve as producers on The Outliers. HarperCollins acquired North American publishing rights to McCreight’s upcoming trilogy earlier this year.

  • Rosamund Pike Plays Dead in Magazine Cover with Ben Affleck

On the latest edition of Entertainment Weekly, a spooky shot of a man embracing the lifeless body of a female corpse in a morgue is the last thing anybody would want to see on a magazine cover.

However, that’s exactly what film director David Fincher of “Gone Girl” was going for when he photographed Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike.

In the upcoming film, the duo portrays a married couple, Nick and Amy Dunne, who are former magazine writers going through the usual tribulations of a relationship.

Following the layoff of Nick, the two move from New York to Missouri where everything goes down hill from there. Amy goes missing on the couple’s fifth wedding anniversary resulting in Nick becoming the main suspect in her disappearance or possible murder.

The high-angle shot, however, shows a wide-eyed Pike lying down pale and emotionless while Affleck cuddles along side her as he caresses her face.(image)

Entertainment Weekly’s studio were more than happy to move out of the way and let Fincher capture a moment they refer to as an “unsettling portrait of love gone demented.”

Based on Gillian Flynn’s 2012 thriller novel, the author is a former Entertainment Weekly writer herself and was present throughout the photo-shoot.

Anticipated reviews predict slight changes will be made in the movie plot in contrast to the novel, being that Flincher and Flynn both modified the story to make it fit on the big screen.

“There was something thrilling about taking this piece of work that I’d spent about two years painstakingly putting together with all its eight million LEGO pieces and take a hammer to it and bash it apart and reassemble it into a movie,” Flynn told Entertainment Weekly.

The film is set to premier in theatres Oct. 3 of this year. It will also feature stars like Emily Ratajkowski, Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry.

Here’s a report done by Hollyscoop TV about the magazine cover:
