  • Manny Pacquiao Sparks Firestorm Of Criticism, Calls Gays ‘Worse Than Animals’

Manny Pacquiao suffered from a serious case of foot-in-mouth when he compared homosexuals to animals during a recent interview by a local Phillipines TV station.

The former world boxing champion, who is a born again Christian, was asked by the interviewer about his thoughts on same-sex marriage. In a mixture of English and his native language, Pacquiao responded by saying that animals have a much better grasp of “proper” sexual relations than gays.

“It’s common sense. Do you see animals mating with the same sex? Animals are better because they can distinguish male from female,” said the Filipino boxer.

Using this analogy, Manny Pacquiao concluded that gays are “worse than animals” for choosing to have same-sex relations.

The Philippines has long been considered one of the most gay-friendly countries in the world despite its religiosity, with recent studies claiming that one out of 16 Filipino men is gay. As a result, Pacquiao received huge backlash for his comments, including criticism from several local celebrities.

One of the country’s most well-known comedians named Vice Ganda started the hashtag #PrayForMannyPacquiao on Twitter and posted several messages addressed to the boxer.

“The LGBT is a group of people. We are humans. But not animals. Though we’re no saints we will pray for Manny Pacquiao,” said the tweet.

The video, which was widely shared online as soon as it was released, could not have come at a worse time for Manny Pacquiao as he is vying for a seat in the Philippine Senate in this year’s national elections. In an attempt to do some damage control, he posted a video on his social media pages in which he seeks forgiveness to “those I’ve hurt” and apologizes for “comparing homosexuals to animals.”

In another post, Manny Pacquiao shares a photo of himself and his wife, Jinkee, along with a Bible verse that condemns same-sex relations.

  • Jonah Hill Appears On ‘Tonight Show’ To Apologize For Gay Slur

Just last week, Jonah Hill was all over the news when he said a homophobic slur to a paparazzi who was following him. The incident was caught on video.

On Tuesday, Hill guested on The Tonight Show to talk about his upcoming film with Channing Tatum, 22 Jump Street. He also took the opportunity to give a sincere apology about what he said to the paparazzi.

“The word I chose was grotesque and no one deserves to say or hear words like that. I’m sorry, and I don’t deserve or expect your forgiveness.”

Here’s what Jonah Hill had to apologize for

He told Jimmy Fallon that the paparazzi was insulting and harassing him, so his natural response was to hurt him back. “I didn’t mean this in the sense of the word, you know? I didn’t mean it in a homophobic way,” he said. Although he defended his actions, he also said that it does not matter. “How you mean things doesn’t matter. Words have weight, and meaning.”

Daniel Post Senning from the Emily Post Institute said that he was impressed by Hill’s sincere apology. “It was moving,” he said. “Doing it in person on TV, where people can see him and relate to him, indicates how serious he was about giving his apology,” Senning said.

Hill’s body language was also studied and Stacy Kaiser, a psychotherapist, concluded that Hill is the real deal. “His mouth was dry. He looked nervous. He kept looking at the ground. He’s a pro on TV, so for him to be that way means he couldn’t hide his emotions,” said Kaiser.

Hill also stated that he has always been a supporter of gay rights and he regretted letting down the gay community with his outburst.

In an interview with Daily News, Hill said, “First of all, nobody is beating themselves up harder than me. The only reason I don’t want to keep repeating an apology is that I don’t want to give a watered down version of what I gave on Jimmy Fallon’s show, because that really truly expressed how I feel.”

  • Alec Baldwin Catches Heat for Anti-Gay Slur

In other not-so-surprising news, Alec Baldwin said something offensive. Again. And a day after his most recent temper tantrum, MSNBC suspended Baldwin’s late night show for at least two weeks. Baldwin referred to a photographer as a “c***sucking fag**t” on Thursday, a comment he at first denied and threatened to sue for, but has since apologized for making.

Just in case your memory is a little fuzzy when it comes to Baldwin’s potty mouth, here are a few incidents he has gotten a lot of well-deserved flak for over the past couple of years. Earlier this year, he got mad when someone accused his wife of tweeting during James Gandolfini’s funeral. His response? “I’m gonna find you . . . you toxic little queen, and I’m gonna f–k . . . you . . . up.” And then there was the time he said that all paparazzi should be waterboarded. And we certainly can’t forget the time he was caught calling his 11-year-old daughter a “pig.”

So, yeah, Alec Baldwin has spent more time than the average celebrity apologizing for his rather insensitive comments and temper tantrums. As such, the news of him uttering an anti-gay slur isn’t overwhelmingly surprising.

TMZ broke the news of Baldwin’s anti-gay slur and shared a video of Baldwin’s comments, which he was pretty ticked off about and even threatened to sue them on Twitter. Baldwin at first said that he called the photographer a “fathead.” A “c***sucking fathead.” Yeah, right.

According to the New York Daily News, Baldwin later admitted to making the comments on Twitter and said, “I apologize and will retire it from my vocabulary,” but he has since deleted the post from his Twitter account.

MSNBC released a statement from Baldwin where he made a full apology:

“I did not intend to hurt or offend anyone with my choice of words, but clearly I have–and for that I am deeply sorry. Words are important. I understand that, and will choose mine with great care going forward. What I said and did this week, as I was trying to protect my family, was offensive and unacceptable. Behavior like this undermines hard-fought rights that I vigorously support.”

A day after folks caught wind of Baldwin’s comment, MSNBC suspended Up Late With Alec Baldwin for two weeks–it will return on November 29. No explanation for the suspension was provided, but most assume it had to do with his choice of words.

  • Troy Aikman Has Gay Slur Directed His Way

If you’re a Washington Redskins fan, you probably were none too happy when they lost to the Denver Broncos on Sunday. A win was in sight, and then BOOM, the Broncos defense stepped up their game and Peyton Manning continued to be, well, Peyton Manning.

A loss like that can make a fan sour, but so sour you have to throw a gay slur at Troy Aikman? The guy announcing the game? What did he ever do to you?

Dexter Manley, former defensive end for the Washington Redskins, called Aikman a “queer” while he was on the radio.

You see, Manley makes a weekly appearance on WTOP in the Washington-area to recap Redskins games and give his “analysis.” This week, for the Broncos-Redskins game, one of the hosts asked Manley if he thought Aikman being at Mile High Stadium was bad luck for the Redskins. Manley responded, saying, “I think Troy Aikman is a queer.”

How does that even answer the question? What does that even have to do with football?

You can hear the audio below. The distasteful moment happens around the 3:20 mark.

The hosts were quick to have Manley apologize, which he did not do directly. And even a half apology was only given after continued requests from the hosts.

Many took to Twitter with their disapproval of what Manley said.

Because of his bad taste, Manley will no longer give analysis on WTOP. Jim Farley, WTOP’s Vice President of News and Programming, responded to many on Twitter, letting them know Manley has since been let go.

You can watch the video below for the moment Manley says the gay slur, as well as a response from WTOP Vice President and General Manager Joel Oxley, and responses from the public.

Manley has since apologized in an interview with WUSA9, an ABC affiliate in Washington, as well as via an email to The Washington Post. In the email he said, “In an interview with WTOP radio Monday, while intending to be funny, I used a slur to refer to Troy Aikman. It was wrong and insensitive. Anyone that knows me knows that’s not who I am in my heart or mind. I want to apologize to Troy, but I mostly want to apologize to anyone else I offended. Like a lot of people in these times, I have to realize that what I thought was funny years ago doesn’t work now. I’ll do my best to make sure it doesn’t happen again and hope you will accept my apology.”

  • Rap God: People Are Loving Eminem’s New Song [AUDIO]

What is it with rappers proclaiming themselves to be gods these days? Just a few months after Kanye West uploaded his “I Am A God” song to YouTube, Eminem released his new song, “Rap God.” The song gets the name from one of the lines in the song that says, “I’m beginning to feel like a rap god.”

Eminem fans are going nuts over the song, which is six minutes long and features the rapper spitting out words ridiculously fast. The often controversial rapper managed to get in lyrics about violence and sex, while insulting women and gay people all in the same song. “Rap God” is the second song released from Eminem’s upcoming album, “MMLP2” (for Marshall Mathers LP 2), which comes out November 5.

Check out Eminem’s “Rap God” below, but be warned–the language is explicit. That should go without saying, but make sure you don’t have the speakers blaring if you’re at work. If you can’t understand the lyrics, follow along with the lyrics Rap Genius put up.

Were you impressed with Eminem’s “Rap God”? Respond below.

While many have praised Eminem for his new song (and by “many,” we mean nearly everyone), some folks have pointed out that the song has a homophobic element to it.

At one point in the song, Eminem talks about breaking a break a “motherf—– table over the back of a couple f—– and crack it in half.” In another verse, Eminem says, “Little gay-looking boy / So gay I can barely say it with a straight face-looking boy / You witnessing massacre like you watching a church gathering taking place-looking boy / ‘Oy vey, that boy’s gay,’ that’s all they say looking-boy / You take a thumbs up, pat on the back, the way you go from your label every day-looking boy.”

The anti-gay element isn’t surprising, as Eminem’s songs have certainly contained lyrics of this type in the past, but some are surprised that more people aren’t pointing this out. That could be because of the light speed pace at which he delivers the lyrics.

  • Amare Stoudemire Fined For Tweeting Gay Slur

The NBA has fined Amare Stoudemire $50,000 for calling a fan a “fag” on Twitter. The fan originally tweeted “you better come back a lot stronger and quicker to make up for this past season mannnnnn deadasss!!!” So Amare’s comment back to him “really one-ups” this ridiculous taunt. The language, or even the fact that he dignified the fans taunting with response, was really uncalled for, but does it really qualify as an anti-gay slur in this context?

    (image)

The NBA certainly thinks so, because they have fined him $50,000 for the tweet. No word on what the NBA is going to do with the money. I suggest it be donated to victims of actual homosexual hate related crimes. This is really the only fair way to do this. The comment was not really meant in hatred toward homosexuals, but the NBA doesn’t need to get any money out of this.

The tweets have since been taken down, but Amare Retweeted a hate tweet he got from an anonymous account (warning: it is offensive):
