  • Maisie Williams of ‘Game of Thrones’ Says First Onscreen Sex Scene Was ‘Extremely Awkward’

Maisie Williams of Game of Thrones fame says filming her first-ever sex scene for the film, The Falling, was a little bit “awkward.

“It was extremely awkward!” Williams, 18, told Vulture magazine.

OK, it was more than awkward.

Maisie Williams plays Lydia in the indie film about students who attend an English all-girls school in the 1960s. Her sex scene was with costar Joe Cole who Maisie said “was very sensitive to the fact that I had never done a scene like this before, and it was great to work with someone who was so considerate of that.”

To prepare for the scene, Williams said she and Cole just hung out together on and off the set.

“We went out for a couple of lunches and stuff just to get to know each other, and we had days of rehearsal where we’d get to know our characters and spend a couple of hours with each other,” said Maisie.

While Maisie Williams was able to hang out with Cole, she was told to keep her distance from Maxine Peake, who plays her estranged mother in the film.

“Carol [Morley], our director, told Maxine not to communicate with me and to keep her distance, so she wouldn’t create a relationship with me — because within the story, our characters don’t have a relationship. But Carol hadn’t told me she was going to do this! So here I am, trying to make contact with Maxine every single day, trying to make it work, and her never giving anything back,” said Williams. “Throughout the shoot I was so miserable because I thought she hated me. I thought all the adults hated me, and I had no idea why. I was just trying to prove myself and be a good actress.”

The Falling starring Maisie Williams is in theaters now.

  • Maisie Williams On Her First Onscreen Sex Scene: ‘Awkward’

The Game of Thrones star, Maisie Williams, describes her first onscreen sex scene as “awkward.”

The 18-year-old star is trying to do a more mature role with her newest indie film The Falling. But despite being part of the hit series Game of Thrones, the actress felt rather self-conscious, she told Vulture.

The Falling is about Lydia, an English all-girls school student. The story tackles sexual awakening among young women in a very repressive surrounding set in the 1960s.

She revealed in an interview that her co-star, Joe Cole, helped her a lot to make her feel comfortable during their intimate scene.

The actress said, “Joe was very sensitive to the fact that I had never done a scene like this before, and it was great to work with someone who was so considerate of that.”

To make sure that the scene would go smoothly, Williams and Cole spent time together to get to know each other. The actress revealed they went out for lunches and rehearsed together so as to learn more about their characters.

When asked about her co-stars, Williams told Vulture she thought Maxine Peake hated her. She was relieved when she was told that Peake, who plays Lydia’s estranged mother, was instructed by the director to not get close to her.

The technique seemed to work on the actress because she admitted she was affected by Peake’s cold treatment. Williams confessed, “it felt like everyone was ignoring me and being really mean. It made me feel really sad and secluded and alone.”

Williams said she was happy to be able to form a good relationship with the other girls in the film. She said she had a great time bonding and learning with them during the filming.

The Falling is now showing in select theaters.

  • Maisie Williams Knocks First Sex Scene Out Of The Park, Even With “Awkward” Interruption

Maisie Williams has starred on one of the most sexually-charged shows HBO offers for several years now, but being one of the youngest cast members on Game Of Thrones has kept her out of those scenes. Recently, however, she shot her first intimate scene for a film, and said that although it was awkward in every way, she nailed it in one take.

Williams told Us Weekly that the scene–for her upcoming film The Falling–ended up being like any other in that she had to focus on what she was doing in order to get everything right, otherwise the director would have had to redo the entire thing.

“It was extremely awkward! I was only just 16, so it was quite a big deal. And I guess you just work through it like any other scene and you rehearse, and then you shoot it! It was literally just the same as any other scene, apart from me doing different activities…. It was really important that we got it all in one shot. The way in which they shot it, they wanted it to be just a flow and not to break it up. They wanted it to go from start to finish with the mother coming in, as well. So we had to get it all timed out perfectly. But it happened. I’ve done it! First one down!” Maisie said.

    (Caution: spoilers ahead.)

Williams may be moving on to feature films, but that doesn’t mean she’s forgotten about GOT; when asked during a recent AMA session how she felt about the show’s finale, Maisie’s answer was a lot like any fan’s would be.

“I DNT CARE ABUT UR SILLY FEKIN NIGHTS WATCH OMG STAHP STABBIN JON SNOOOO,” Maisie Williams wrote.

  • Emilia Clarke Hypes Up ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 6, ‘It Will Be Epic’

Emilia Clarke of Game of Thrones is promising that season 6 will be all fans could hope for.

Clarke, who was nominated among the 24 Emmy nominations for the HBO series for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama for her role as Daenerys Targaryen, told the Los Angeles Times, the next season of Game of Thrones will be outstanding.

“There’s so much in store for her,” Clarke said of the Mother of Dragons. “I’m saying that obviously because I’ve read the script for next season. Muwah ha ha! I know stories. It’s really exciting.”

Clarke said this season will be different in that it won’t take its typical time to introduce characters and plotlessness. Instead, the show will get off to quick start that doesn’t stop.

“It’s just go, go, go, go,” Emilia Clarke said. “Shocking moment to shocking moment. Epic moment to epic moment. It’s mental; it’s epic. And definitely Dany’s a part of it.”

Clarke, who is going head to head with costar Lena Headey for the Emmy, says she is excited to compete with the friend she “admires.”

“I definitely think we’re going to have a lot of fun with that,” said Clarke. “I admire — truly, everything I say now you’re going to think, “Oh yeah, of course you would say that, of course you are.” But quite honestly, I remember asking her for advice from Season 1. I admire her so much. I think that the work that she does on our show is absolutely exceptional. And I think that she’s so brave.”

Emilia Clarke went on to gush about Lena.

“With every season, it gets more messy with her, and with her character in this brilliant way. And then last season saw her being torn down from her high place, all powerful position. And then you get to see this really guttural, visceral performance; it just broke my heart. I’m so excited, bloody happy and proud of everyone who is involved, and everyone who made it possible. Lena and I wouldn’t have the nominations if it weren’t for the 22 other nominations and for all the people who made it possible.”

  • Dave Grohl Says Breaking His Leg Makes Foo Fighters Shows and Audiences Even Better

Dave Grohl is a monster among men. When other singers are canceling tours, running for throat surgery, and licking donuts in protest, Dave Grohl is on stage having a doctor set his dislocated ankle and splint his broken leg as he plays.

When Foo Fighters frontman Grohl fell off the stage in Sweden last month, he grabbed a doctor in the house, brought the man onstage, and kept on playing while the doctor worked.

Foo Fighters had a huge show planned for Independence Day weekend at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC, which is Dave’s backyard. There was no way he was going to miss that show, the lineup of which included Joan Jett, Heart, Buddy Guy, Trombone Shorty, and Guy Clark.

So Dave Grohl grabbed a pen and paper. While high on Oxycontin painkillers — legally prescribed — he sketched out what has now become a famous tour fixture. His throne is reminiscent of the Iron Throne from the Game of Thrones television show, but with guitar necks instead of swords.

“The idea of the throne is just fucking ridiculous,” Grohl told Entertainment Weekly, “especially for a band that has never relied on any kind of production at all. We usually just put the amps on the stage, turn on the lights, and play. Now we’ve got this throne that shoots lights and smoke out of it and looks like a fucking UFO with guitar necks stuck in it.”

But the sight of that throne, with Dave Grohl’s hair flying, has become a rallying cry of sorts for audiences who love that he is not sitting this one out, even though no one would blame him.

“When the audience sees me in that chair, they realize we’re all in this together,” Grohl told the Associated Press. “I’m just a dude with a broken leg and I’m going to give you three hours of everything I got.”

“The shows we’ve been doing lately are our favorite shows that we’ve ever done,” Grohl says. “What seemed like a setback at the time has turned into this beautiful blessing in disguise, where this throne and these crutches and these audiences make us play longer and harder than we ever have. It’s this whole new energy in the show.”

  • Lena Headey of ‘Game of Thrones’ Welcomes Baby Girl and Is In “Unconditional Heartbreaking Divine Love’

Lena Headey of Game of Thrones announced on Friday that she is now the proud mother of a baby girl.

Lena announced the arrival of her second child in a tweet on Friday.

“Hello peeps . All good. Just fallen in unconditional heartbreaking divine love for the second time,” she wrote.

Lena Headey, 41, didn’t include the name of the new little bundle of joy. She announced the pregnancy in February and has declined to name the father of the child.

According to Page Six, Headey’s newborn daughter joins big brother Wylie, 5, who is the son of Lena and ex-husband musician Peter Loughran. The couple wed in 2007 and divorced in 2013.

After the news of her pregnancy was announced, Lena served as guest essay for Plan International USA, also revealing that the baby would be a girl.

“My daughter will have freedom of choice,” Headey wrote in her post. “She will be free to dance, to sing, to be educated in the fields that spark her passion, to marry if she wants, to marry WHO she wants, to remain single, or to fall in love with another woman. She’ll be able to wear what she wants, put on lipstick, and read books that spark debate and expand her mind. She will be loved, protected, respected, and celebrated. All these things that should be, and will be, basic human rights, are a promise to my daughter.”

The British actress was one of the few cast mates absent from Friday’s Game of Thrones panel at Comic-Con 2015 in San Diego.

  • Natalie Dormer of ‘Game of Thrones’ Turns Eyes With Her Bold Fashion Choice at Comic-Con

Natalie Dormer of Game of Thrones certainly turned eyes with her bold fashion statement at a panel discussion with the cast of the famed HBO series.

The 33-year-old actress, who plays Margaery Tyrell in Game of Thrones, opted for a white boxy crop top paired with a very colorful pair of slinky high-waisted flares that showed off her slender frame perfectly.

With her tousled blonde coiffed to the side of her shoulders, the British-born Dormer posed for photos with her hand on her hip at the 2015 Comic-Con event, held at the San Diego Convention Centre.

Currently starring as Cressida in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, Natalie Dormer laughed and joked with her colleagues on the panel as they fielded questions from the audience.

The Daily Mail reports that Natalie Dormer was joined on stage by Carice van Houten (Melisandre), Liam Cunningham (Stannis Baratheon’s right hand man Davos Seaworth) and Gwendoline Christie who plays Brienne of Tarth.

Hannah Murray (Gilly), John Bradley (Samwell Tarley), Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy), Conleth Hill (Varys) and Maisie Williams (Arya Stark) were also on the panel.

Fans were likely shocked to hear that apart from Gwendoline, none of the Game of Thrones cast members had ever read the books.

“People would come up and be like, ‘Arya goes blind!’” said Maisie. “And I’d be like, ‘Yeah, I knew that. I totally knew that.’ Even though I didn’t.”

Natalie Dormer was called out a bit when one audience member asked her about her future plot lines.

‘To be perfectly honest, honey, a lot of us here at the table are in the same position as you guys and I don’t have an effing clue what will happen,’ replied Natalie Dormer.

  • Gwendoline Christie Loves Both Of Her Powerful Female Roles

Gwendoline Christie Loves Both Of Her Powerful Female Roles

Gwendoline Christie is not lacking for work in Hollywood these days.

Best known as Brienne of Tarth on the incredibly popular show, Game of Thrones, Gwendoline Christie is no stranger to a powerful female influence in the roles she takes.

Gwendoline Christie outlined just how much she loves her role at Comic-Con during the Game of Thrones panel.

Gwendoline Christie applauded, basically, the fact that her TV relationship with Jaime Lannister is so deep and complicated and at the same time, not at all based on sex.

She said, “In a mainstream TV show, we got to see this very unique, very unconventional woman enduring abuse from a man, and then the power lay in the fact that that got turned on its head, to develop a grudging respect for each other that’s intense and close and doesn’t have its roots in sexuality.”

She added, “And I was thrilled to see that at last, and I thought it was a very powerful, modern representation of women.”

It is pretty rare, if you think about it.

Gwendoline Christie was also very complimentary of J.J. Abrams and Lawrence Kasden for not making her ground-breaking female storm trooper role in the upcoming Star Wars installation super sexy.

Although there are some nerds that might find that idea sexy enough.

She said, “I found it exciting that there was a female storm trooper, but it was also this opportunity to explore a female character that’s totally not about the way she looks.”

She added, “I just thought it was exciting that underneath that armor was a woman.”

  • Emilia Clarke Stayed In “Game Of Thrones” Co-Star’s “Haunted” House

Emilia Clarke recently stayed in New Orleans, where the air is thick with humidity and greenery and, apparently, ghosts. The Game Of Thrones star told Jimmy Kimmel this week that she crashed at her co-star Michael Huisman’s place in the historic city and knew right away that she was dealing with the supernatural.

“Oh my goodness, it was definitely, definitely haunted. They said, ‘You know it’s haunted because the air is really thick and it feels kind of super humid,’” Clarke said.

Huisman claims his house isn’t full of spirits, but in a city as old as New Orleans–where death is often celebrated rather than made into a somber affair–it’s easy to imagine ghosts making themselves at home.

Emilia was in New Orleans to shoot scenes for Terminator: Genisys, in which she plays Sarah Connor. For director Alan Taylor–who also directed her on Game Of Thrones–Clarke’s strengths are much the same whether she’s playing Sarah or Daenarys.

“There’s such authority in this young woman coupled with this tremendous vulnerability. You look at those eyes and you kind of want to take care of her at the same time that she’s barking orders at you and scaring you,” Taylor said.

Emilia, whose father was a sound designer for stage productions in London when she was younger, says she can’t remember a time when she didn’t want to be an actress and recalls her first interview, when she chose age three as the year she discovered her calling.

“It was one of the first interviews I’d ever done and it was like, pick a number, any number, and I was like, ‘Let’s go with 3. Sure. Why not?’ Basically I just wanted to say from very young. I just can’t even think of a time in my life where I didn’t want to be an actor,” she said.

  • Emilia Clarke, Channing and Jenna Tatum: Would He Do It?

Emilia Clarke, famous as Daenerys ‘Khakeesi” Targaryen on HBO’s Game of Thrones, admitted recently that she had offered a threesome to Channing Tatum and his lovely wife Jenna Dewan Tatum.

    Emilia Clarke told Harper’s Bazaar:

“I was at a Golden Globes after party and Channing f–king Tatum came up to me, and his stunning missus, Jenna Dewan. And they said, ‘We call each other ‘moon of my life’ and ‘my sun and stars’ and all that. And I was like, ‘I cannot contain this. Please, can we all have something sexual together? You’re both beautiful, even just a hug.’”

The news of this offer from Clarke spread far and wide, leading radio host Howard Stern to be sure to ask about it when Channing Tatum visited his show last week. Stern particularly asked if Jenna Dewan Tatum would possibly consider such an arrangement.

“I think if anyone she would entertain, it would be [Emilia Clarke],” Channing Tatum said. “I think I even called [my wife] ‘Khaleesi’ for a little while.”

But how did Channing Tatum react to the offer from Clarke? He told Stern:

“She said it, she said something like that to us, I don’t remember the exact words. My ears [started ringing]. I’m looking at my wife for a reaction. I’m like, ‘I don’t know what’s happening. I think this might be happening.’ Jenna’s a pro. She joked, ‘Oh, yeah. Let’s do it.’ And then, like, it never happened.”

But would he do it? Would he, if his wife was cool with it, actually have a threesome with Emilia Clarke?

Tatume told Stern, “What guy wouldn’t? I would put on a loincloth and some swords to make it happen. I’ll go find a dragon, if you guys really want me to. I’ll figure it out.”

Despite that exchange, Channing Tatum says he does not find any temptation to cheat on his wife with co-stars in films, or anyone else, for that matter.

“The temptation isn’t really an aspect,” he says. “I don’t really know how to describe that. If you keep the line taut between you and your lover, the person you’ve devoted your life to, that doesn’t have any room to squeak in. I’ve lived a crazy life before. I’ve had long-term relationships, really crazy play in between, then another long-term relationship. Once I’ve made the decision, it doesn’t become a thing.”

  • Emilia Clarke of ‘Game of Thrones’ Says the Violence and Abuse Against Women Depicted On the Show Is Just ‘Make Believe’

Emilia Clarke of Game of Thrones defended the abuse and violence against women depicted on the popular HBO show, reminding those offended that it is just “make believe.”

Season 5 was particularly brutal from women, especially when it came to Ramsay Bolton’s treatment of Sansa Stark and Cersei’s naked walk of shame in the finale and social media went crazy over the way women were perceived and treated.

Emilia Clarke defended the show and shared her views about the backlash with Entertainment Weekly Morning Live this week.

“Well, obviously, it’s never nice hearing criticism about something that you, and you know everybody else puts their heart, soul, blood, sweat, and tears into,” said Clarke.

“But in the same breath, it’s a shocking show so it’s going to invite commentary that everybody is free to have about the show. So I think it’s a couple of things, because I mean, as an actor, it’s bizarre, because you’ll relish those dark moments that allow you to get your teeth into a character and really kind of explore the darker depths to the reality of life and things that happen every day,” continued Emilia Clarke.

“But I think the thing that’s important to remember is that sadly, first and foremost, it’s a story that we’re telling that is make-believe—that is based in a fantastical world,” noted Emila Clarke. “So, whilst there is a political commentary that people can take from the show because that is everyone’s right to do so, I think not taking it too seriously is kind of the key here. So yeah, that’s kind of what I think, basically.”

Check out Emilia Clarke’s entire interview with EW:

“>propositioned to do “something sexual” by Emilia.

Clarke, otherwise known as Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones, told Harper’s Bazaar about the afterparty and the unusual proposition.

“Channing f—ing Tatum came up to me, and his stunning missus, Jenna Dewan,” said Emilia Clarke. “And they said, ‘We call each other “moon of my life” and “my sun and stars”‘ and all that. And I was like, ‘I cannot contain this. Please, can we all have something sexual together? You’re both beautiful, even just a hug.’”

If response, Tatum Channing told Howard Stern he and Jenna Dewan might be down with the idea … at lease he was down.

“She said something like that to us. I don’t remember the exact words, but my ears, I think, probably just went like beeeep,” said Tatum Channing. “And I’m just looking at my wife for her reaction. Like, ‘I don’t know. I don’t know what’s happening. Is this happening? I think this might be happening. I think she just said what I thought she said.’ … Jenna’s a pro. She’s like, ‘Oh, yeah, let’s do it!’ And then it never happens.”

When Stern asked Channing if he was down with the idea, Channing responded in the affirmative.

“Oh, come on, who wouldn’t? What guy in their right mind?” said Tatum. “Yeah, I mean, look, I would put on some loincloths and some swords to make it happen. I’ll go find a dragon if you guys really want me to. Like, I’ll figure it out.”

While the Magic Mike XXL star said he liked the idea, he reassured fans that there is no temptation that can distract him from his wife of six years.

“The temptation really isn’t an aspect,” he said of his relationship with Jenna Dewan. “And I don’t really how to describe that other than, if you keep the line taut between you and your lover, the person that you’ve devoted your life to, that doesn’t have any room to squeak in … Once I’ve made the decision [to settle down] it doesn’t ever really become a thing.”

  • Amanda Peet Defends ‘Game Of Thrones’ Despite Show’s Brutal Rape Scenes

The 5th season of Game of Thrones has drawn plenty of controversy, from rape, bloody battles, torture and sexism. Now, the wife of GOT producer David Benioff, Amanda Peet, speaks out in the defense of the show.

What caused the fans to accuse the show of sexism was the brutal rape of Sansa Stark, played by Sophie Turner, and Cersei Lannister’s ‘Walk of Shame’ played by Lena Headey.

In the aftermath of the big finale, the 43-year-old Togetherness actress Peet, has come to be an advocate of the show. Aside from disagreeing with the criticisms of sexism, Peet also concludes that the female characters on the show are some of the strongest women on television.

“I think it’s really misplaced. They write some of the greatest female characters that are on television,” Peet said in an interview with The Wrap.

Peet also echoed an often repeated sentiment saying, “It’s a misogynist world, this world that George R. R. Martin created, but we have to experience it without thinking that people are condoning this.”

Peet highly praised the roles of the women in GOT . “It’s much more insidious to have middling, ancillary female roles where the women are not part of the plot — where they don’t advance anything,” said Peet.

“Wife roles, girlfriend roles, there are very few of those in ‘Game of Thrones.’ If someone takes their clothes off and it’s a massive part of the plot? So be it,” Peet argued.

However, all her points about the show weren’t positive. Peet admitted that she was devastated over the season’s finale especially when Jon Snow was repeatedly stabbed.

“I was furious. He was already in Belfast, he’s back to work now on the next season, but I texted him and said, ‘I’m single now!’” Amanda Peet added, laughing.

  • Amanda Peet Defends Serial Misogyny On “Game Of Thrones”

Amanda Peet just may be the only woman who is ready to defend the heinous acts against women depicted in Game of Thrones episodes.

Of course, Amanda Peet is married to Game of Thrones co-creator and showrunner David Benioff. Her stance could be perceived as a woman standing by her man.

But, Amanda Peet says her stance is way more than that.

In fact, Amanda Peet explained that she feels the opposite to be true.

Amanda Peet said of the ever-growing backlash, “I think it’s really misplaced. They write some of the greatest female characters that are on television.”

She added, “It’s a misogynist world, this world that George R. R. Martin created, but we have to experience it without thinking that people are condoning this.”

I don’t know. Do we have to experience all of it?

Amanda Peet went on to insist that at least the female roles on GoT are strong.

She said, “It’s much more insidious to have middling, ancillary female roles where the women are not part of the plot — where they don’t advance anything.”

She added, “Wife roles, girlfriend roles, there are very few of those in Game of Thrones. If someone takes their clothes off and it’s a massive part of the plot? So be it.”

Taking off clothes is one thing. Repeated violent rape and excessive nudity? An entirely different thing.

One brutal rape scene prompted Senator Claire McCaskill to declare herself “done” with the series.

That actually summed up what a lot of people were thinking after this season.

What do you think? Has Game of Thrones gone too far or do you agree with Amanda Peet?

  • Emilia Clarke of ‘Game of Thrones’ Donning Crutches Offers Uncanny Arnold Schwarzenegger Impersonation

Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones and more recently as Sarah Conor in the new film Terminator: Genisys, gave an uncanny Arnold Schwarzenegger impression despite hobbling around on crutches.

The 28-year-old star ditched the crutches on Friday at a photocall for the film in Paris, and it is still unknown what ails the star. Her rep had no comment about her condition.

The crutches first made their appearance last week in Spain, where Emilia is filming her latest film, Me Before You.

While in London this week to promote the Terminator film, Clarke hobbled about wearing a powder half-sleeve blue Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2015 shift dress that featured child-like illustrations and the Italian words, “Tu la mamma piu bella del mondo,” which translates roughly to “You are the most beautiful mom in the world.” Odd choice considering the actress has no children of her own.

It was when Emilia Clarke joined Terminator co-stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, 67, model and actress Cara Delevingne, 22, Jake Gyllenhaal, 34, and British rapper Tinie Tempah, 26, that she schooled them with her impression of the former governor of California.

In Terminator: Genisys, Clarke plays a younger version of main heroine Sarah Connor. The movie will be released on July 1.

Who’s looking forward to seeing Emilia Clarke portray Sarah Conner in Terminator: Genisys?

  • Lena Headey And Her Body Double On “Game Of Thrones” Walk Of Shame

Lena Headey may not have bared it all physically for her Walk of Shame sequence on the Game of Thrones season finale, but she bared it all emotionally.

And that is what helped Lena Heady’s body double do such a great job.

Lena Headey’s body double for the scene, Rebecca Van Cleave, has spoken out about her experience.

She told Entertainment Weekly of playing Lena Headey’s body, “It was one of the scariest, most wonderful, most gratifying experiences I could have imagined.”

She added, “I never in a million years would have thought I would be in Dubrovnik surrounded by hundreds of extras and crew members throwing food at me, but it was amazing.”

Hmmm. Naked with people throwing food and even dumping chamber pots at you. It just doesn’t sound that amazing.

However, Van Cleave credits the full help and support of Lena Headey for helping her to get through the awkward scene.

She said, “Lena was so good about walking beside me and guiding me into what Cersei was thinking and the movements. We were playing tag team — ‘You’re it!’ — and trying to make light of the fact we’re all covered in everything and going through this together.”

    Sunshine love

Lena Headey, herself, was proud of the job that Van Cleave did. She said, “It was a long process trying to find somebody who got what it means physically to be there with all that stuff going on, and Rebecca is a great actress.”

She added, “It takes a lot to walk through the crowd naked for three days in a row with the crowd braying at you.”

I’m sure that takes a measure of confidence and courage that most people don’t have! What did you think about Lena Headey’s (and Rebecca Van Cleave’s) Walk of Shame?

  • Lena Headey Turned Away From Church For Walk Of Shame

Lena Headey has ridden the Game of Thrones season finale for almost a week now, as time-shifted fans of the show catch up to everyone else, desperately avoiding social media in their rush to watch the show.

There is probably no small number of guys watching the show for the first time, just to get to see the woman who played Sarah Connor take off her clothes. The joke is on them: Lena Headey was not naked for the scene.

The several minutes of the Game of Thrones finale that featured a naked, shorn Queen Cersei walking through Kings’ Landing toward her castle home has been given the title The Walk of Shame. It is a scene that book-readers were already expecting. Lena Headey pulled it of flawlessly — with help from another very talented actress

But the whole scene ran into some difficulty in filming.

First of all, the scene ended up costing $200,000 to film due to all the extra security involved. But security was not even the toughest part.

There was a bit of difficulty getting approval for filming the scene in the Dubrovnik, Croatia location. The Church of St. Nicholas, where other scenes were already shot, would only allow the location to be used if Headey did not disrobe in the church itself. So a fake religious set had to be built to accommodate their wishes.

Lena Headey said that she opted to not walk naked herself so she could better focus on the emotional content of the scene, rather than on her own feelings of being naked in front of a crew.

Lena Headey also has extensive tattooing, which can certainly be covered for such a scene, but this way they didn’t have to do that, either.

Actress Rebecca Van Cleave, who stood in as body double for Lena Headey in the Walk of Shame scene, told Entertainment Weekly that shooting the scene was actually quite thrilling for her, professionally.

“It was one of the scariest, most wonderful, most gratifying experiences I could have imagined,” Van Cleave said of working with Lena Headey on the scene. “I never in a million years would have thought I would be in Dubrovnik surrounded by hundreds of extras and crew members throwing food at me, but it was amazing.”

“It was actually the most comfortable casting I’ve ever had, considering,” Van Cleave says. “It’s definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but also the best experience of my life,” she says. “And I hope the next thing I do will have my head in it!”

  • Lena Headey Was Not Actually Naked In ‘Game Of Thrones’, Nude Body Double Revealed

Lena Headey Was Not Actually Naked In ‘Game Of Thrones’, Nude Body Double Revealed

In the Game of Thrones season five finale, Lena Headey’s character, Queen Regent Cersei Lannister, took a humiliating walk of shame. But it was not Headey alone who did the walk of shame, Rebecca Van Cleave has been revealed as the double of Queen Lannister’s nude body.

Queen Lannister was humiliated by walking naked down the streets of King’s Landing to atone for her crimes. Cleave is breaking her silence on enacting the horrifying walk of shame. Cleave performed the stunning sequence for a total of three days.

Cleave is a 27-year-old British-American actress and model popularly known for starring in The Royals, The Prey, and 50 Ways to Kill Your Lover.

Actress Cleave worked closely with Headey during the shoot of penance walk in the show’s finale. Headey just wore a simple beige shift while filming the scene in Dubrovnik in October, while Cleave wore nothing.

The graphics editing team of the show merged the performances of the two actresses. They mostly used clips of Headey’s facial expression and Cleave’s body movements to create the illusion that Headey was the one who was totally nude.

Cleave shared her experience with EW.  “It was one of the scariest, most wonderful, most gratifying experiences I could have imagined,” she said. ”I never in a million years would have thought I would be in Dubrovnik surrounded by hundreds of extras and crew members throwing food at me, but it was amazing.”

Cleave also talked about how Headey guided her while filming the six-minute long scene. “Lena was so good about walking beside me and guiding me into what Cersei was thinking and the movements,” the actress said.

There were several reasons why Headey used a body double for the sequence. First, she was pregnant at the time and second, she desired to put her focus on the emotions rather than nudity. “If somebody is brave enough to do this, I applaud it,” Headey told EW.

  • Maisie Williams Behaves Like A Fan After Viewing ‘Game Of Thrones’ Finale

Maisie Williams Behaves Like A Fan After Viewing ‘Game Of Thrones’ Finale

The Game Of Thrones British actress Maisie Williams had a major freak out moment after knowing how the show’s episode would end.

Williams’ character, Arya Stark, was blinded in the June 14 episode of GOT. Stark has a tough fate on the show. Apart from being brutally blinded, she also lost most of her family members. And what’s even worse is that her fave half-brother, Jon Snow, just ended up dead too.

The actress had a Q&A on Twitter on Monday night labeled #AskGOT. Williams shared hilarious reactions upon what happened in the Season 5 finale of GOT.

One fan from twitter asked her about her views on the episode, “@Maisie_Williams @GameOfThrones #AskGoT what was your reaction to the finale?”

“I DNT CARE ABUT UR SILLY FEKIN NIGHTS WATCH OMG STAHP STABBIN JON SNOOOO,” the actress promptly replied sounding like a typical fan girl.

Snow’s death was not the only thing that Williams discussed during the 35-minute Q&A. Fans shot more questions in line with the show.

She was asked by another fan, “How long did it take for you to learn the fight choreography for Arya’s vengeance scene?”

Williams wrote back saying, “Probably in total about 6 hours work. I was unprepared, Ian was totally amazing.”

Snow was bloodily killed at the end of the episode. Allistair stabbed Snow which left him severely weakned. Afterwards, most of the men of Night’s Watching started stabbing Snow as well leaving him completely dead.

The death was confirmed by Kit Harington, the actor who plays Snow, as well as the episode’s director. However, speculations have been spreading that Snow could be back anytime soon. George R.R. Martin, the author of the book GOT, has revealed in the past that Jon Snow’s fortune is inconclusive.

“Oh, you think he’s dead, do you?” he told Entertainment Weekly in 2011. “My readers should know better than to take anything as gospel.”

  • Lena Headey On “Game Of Thrones” Walk Of Shame: “Cersei Doesn’t Deserve This”

Lena Headey opened up recently about the harrowing scene her character had to endure in Sunday night’s season finale of Game Of Thrones, saying that while it wasn’t hard to get into Cersei’s headspace, she doesn’t feel the Queen Regent deserved it.

The scene (caution: spoilers) in question left fans of the show divided, as Cersei has infuriated just about all of us at some point. Her scheming ways, however, have led to her being one of those characters everyone loves to hate, and no matter how bitchy she can be, she still has her fans. The walk of shame she had to complete as penance for her incest confession–complete with a nun shouting “Shame! Shame” while ringing a bell behind her the entire time–was torturous to watch as the minutes ticked by. Cersei’s bloodied feet on the cobblestones, her nude body the target of anything the onlookers could find to throw…it was hard to watch, and Headey says she doesn’t think anyone deserves that treatment.

“It’s not hard when people are screaming at you and you look like s–t and you’re being f–king humiliated to figure out how that would feel. There’s a part of you that’s f–king terrified. I can’t even imagine people wanting your blood. Cersei has done wrong, but she doesn’t really deserve this,” Headey told Entertainment Weekly. “I don’t think anyone deserves that treatment. She’s been beaten and starved and humiliated. She thinks when she comes out and confesses that this is it—even when she’s on her knees confessing to the High Sparrow, she’s partly lying. She thinks she’s good to go. She has no idea what’s coming when she walks out to the steps, or that they’re going to shave her hair off like Aslan.”

It’s unclear at this point what fate awaits Cersei, as she will likely still face action from the High Sparrow and his court for her wrongdoings. However, Headey’s character did tell one of the nuns that her face would be the last the woman would ever see, so things might get bloody next season when it’s time for retribution.

  • Stannis Baratheon: ‘She Weighed the Same As a Duck’ [Spoilers]

Stannis Baratheon let that witch burn his daughter.

Game of Thrones fans used to be divided into two categories: those who had read the books, and those who had only seen the HBO series. Nowadays, fans seem to have a further division. The “TV-only” segment seems to have a subset of folks who have evidently not watched the entire series, but came along later.

The most recent episode of Game of Thrones, called “The Dance of Dragons” caused such an uproar on social media before the episode was even over that fans counting on DVR or other time-delay viewing were damn near spoiled.

One week after sharing a tender fatherly moment with his daughter, Stannis Barathon led her to his witch consort to be burned alive at the stake.

Now that is a hell of a thing to have happen. But these people act like they haven’t seen the Red Wedding. A pregnant woman’s womb was cut open, for crying out loud.

They act like they didn’t see The Hound run down Arya’s friend. They act like the very first episode didn’t feature the Kingslayer shoving a little boy from a high window to his intended death, paralyzing him.

The episode immediately prior to this one had zombie kids.

But all the ire is held for Stannis Baratheon. Perhaps they did not see all these other episodes? Or maybe the shock value in this one came from the fact that the terrible fate of this child was visited upon her by the man who was supposed to love her most, the man we hd seen being almost-uncharacteristically tender with her very recently.

Stannis Baratheon already killed his own brother, who opposed him for the throne. He regrets nothing about cutting off his most trusted advisors fingers. He has watched people who would not embrace the belief in his Fire God be burned at the stake.

Stannis is a nasty man, to be sure. When Davos gets back from the Wall, things may not sit well. He may be the only man in that whole army who would’ve jumped in to stop the killing. Which is exactly why Stannis sent him away.

    The season finale is coming.
