  • Kerry Washington Hits Red Carpet Post-Baby at BET Awards

Kerry Washington stepped out on the red carpet Sunday night for the BET Awards in Los Angeles.

The event marked Washington’s first live television appearance since giving birth to daughter Isabelle Amarachi on April 21. The child is the first for both Washington and her husband, former San Francisco 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha.

Observers said Washington looked “slim, fit, and healthy” in a brightly-colored floral strapless Dolce & Gabbana dress, white Jimmy Choo pumps, and the bare minimum of jewelry.

Washington was nominated for a Best Actress award this year alongside Angela Bassett (Black Nativity, American Horror Story,) Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave,) Gabrielle Union (Being Mary Jane,) and Oprah Winfrey (The Butler.) Lupita Nyong’o won.

Washington won the BET Best Actress award in 2013.

Washington, 37, and Asomugha, 32, married in a small, private ceremony in Hailey, Idaho in June 2013. The notoriously private couple managed to keep the wedding secret for over a week.

The couple kept their daughter’s birth from hitting the news for an impressive 11 days following her birth.

Washington began acting in 1994 and landed small television and film roles for the next few years, including parts in Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt and The Last King of Scotland with James McAvoy and Forest Whitaker.

In 2012 she gained notoriety for her performance opposite Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, and Christoph Waltz in Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained.

Also that year she landed the lead role in ABC’s hit series Scandal. Thanks to her role as Olivia Pope, Washington is now a household name. The term “gladiators” and the phrase “It’s handled” have become synonymous with the series and millions of viewers covet Olivia Pope’s wardrobe.

  • Gabrielle Union Gives Details Of Proposal

Gabrielle Union has proven that she’s the “stand by your man” type. When she and basketball player Dwyane Wade took a short break, Wade accidentally impregnated another woman. While most people assumed that Gabrielle would leave Wade after she found out about his love child, she surprised everyone and decided to stay.

Wade proposed shortly after the couple reunited and Gabrielle decided to share the details of the special moment while on Live with Kelly and Michael. According to Gabrielle, the proposal happened at the construction site where the couple is building a home. Wade brought his two sons and nephew who lives with him, along with him for the proposal.

“I was completely surprised, him and the boys planned it completely as a family. We were just going to spend the day together, have a little bit of quality time. … I’m completely clueless. Dwyane’s like, ‘Do you want to do any make-up?’ I’m like, ‘No.’ So my nails aren’t done. We were literally going from brunch to our house, that is under construction, so I’m dressed to go to a construction site, not for anything exciting.”

She continued, “So we do a little tour of the house. Me and Dwyane are upstairs, the boys are downstairs and the boys say, ‘We want to do a presentation for you.’ I thought they were going to do a skit or a song or something, so me and Dwyane turn around … and they’re holding signs saying, ‘Will you marry us?’

Gabrielle admitted that at first she thought it was a joke because the boys had ask her on several occasions to be their stepmother. Soon she realized that the proposal was the real deal.

The couple was engaged shortly before Christmas, right around the same time Wade came forward with the news of his son by another woman. Gabrielle has obviously accepted his family and forgiven him for his affair during their break up.

  • Gabrielle Union Talks About “Being Mary Jane”

Last night BET premiered its first episode of the dramedy series “Being Mary Jane,” starring Gabrielle Union, which comes several months after the release of “Being Mary Jane” the movie.

In an interview with TV Guide, the flawless beauty said she can relate to the character she plays, and it’s very similar to the way she was in her younger days. “When I was in my twenties, I was all about getting the ring,” she said. “Cut to: I’m divorced. Some of us put more work into choosing the right therapist than choosing the right guy. Nobody talks about the work–the really hard work–that goes into marriage.”

In the series, Union’s character–talk show host Mary Jane Paul–pretty much has her professional life in order but not her personal life, since she’s involved with a married man played by actor Omari Hardwick. “Mary Jane’s reality can be worse than a nightmare,” she says. “She just acts without thinking things through. And just wait, in season one Robinne’s character shows up at the TV station wanting information about the affair. You think Mary Jane might be a little contrite, a little sorry. Nope. She’s like ‘You want answers, b—-? I’ll give you some answers.”

Playing the show’s antagonist is veteran actress Margaret Avery, who plays Union’s mother and often throws roadblocks in Mary Jane’s way as she’s trying to cope with her relationship mistakes.

“There’s a bit of survivor guilt when it comes to her family,” Union detailed. “And she’s also an enabler and a control freak. She resents having to be the problem solver, the one who’s always expected to pull out her checkbook and pay for s—, yet she enjoys being able to manipulate her loved ones through her handouts. She gets to be Geppetto.”

“Being Mary Jane” airs on the BET Network on Tuesdays at 10:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time.

  • Dwyane Wade Has A New Baby. Gabrielle Union Is Not The Mother

Just last week Dwyane Wade announced his engagement to actress Gabrielle Union. Now this week, Wade confirms that he fathered a son with a woman other than Union. Apparently Wade sought comfort in the arms of another woman during a one-month break in his relationship to Gabrielle Union. The child is about one month old now.

When asked if he had seen his new son yet, Wade responded,”Yeah, I’ve got a chance to see him. You know me. I’m involved in my kids’ lives. When my kids were living at home with me, or wasn’t living at home with me, I tried to do everything I could to see them. Obviously I got custody of them for different reasons, but nothing changes with my life. Like I’ve said, this is something that my family knows and my now fiancée worked through when we got back together, and understood that we wanted to continue our lives together and continue supporting our family and we’re going to do that. That’s what I’ve always done.”

The Miami Heat star is also a father to two other children, Zion and Zaire, from a previous marriage with Siohvaughn Funches. Wade was awarded custody of the kids after a three-year court battle with Funches.

The NBA star is all too aware of the public scrutiny that comes with fathering a child with someone other than his soon to be wife but he says he is prepared to face it. Right now, he says he is focused on being a great father and making sure he is involved in his kids’ lives.  “I’m always going to be a father first. That doesn’t change.” said Wade

Wade published a book called A Father First in 2012 in which he talks about how his life became bigger than basketball after becoming a father.

  • Dwyane Wade Confirms ‘Love Child’, Birth Certificate Released

Lately, Miami heat star guard Dwyane Wade has been making headlines left and right. His whirlwind romance has created a media firestorm. However, his romantic involvement hasn’t just been centered around one woman.

It’s been nearly two weeks since the 3-time NBA champion proposed to his girlfriend, actress Gabrielle Union. Now, there’s a baby. But, it’s not one he fathered with Union.

A couple days ago, rumors began to float that Wade fathered another child during his relationship with the Deliver Us From Eva star.

However, the news is no longer a rumor, as the 9-time NBA All-Star has confirmed that the child is his.

According to Hollywood Life, Wade released a statement to reporters in regards to his newborn child on Monday, Dec. 30.

“As I’ve always done my whole life … is always focus on what’s most important to me and my family, and that’s being a great father,” said Wade. “I’ve always tried to show my importance in my kids’ lives and it doesn’t change now.”

Wade also clarified that the child was conceived during his split from his fiancé’. He also expressed that the child was conceived during a rather difficult time in his life, but the child is, indeed, a breath of fresh air for him.

“Yeah, I had a time … in our pain and our hurt, (but) a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy,” Wade told reporters. “So, I’m moving on.” ‘D-Wade’ went on to share his sentiments of fatherhood and the importance of his involvement in his children’s lives.

“You know me,” Wade said. “I’m involved in my kids’ lives. When my kids were living at home with me, or wasn’t living at home with me, I tried to do everything I could to see them.” He actually has full custody of his two older sons, Zion and Zaire, while raising his nephew Dahveon Morris.

“It would compromise it if I wasn’t a father first,” said Wade. “I’m always going to be a father first. That doesn’t change. If you decide to when you can be a father, that’s when it compromises. But, like I said, this is something, obviously, private for my family that we will continue to deal with as a family but we have a blessing to the bloodline, to the Wade bloodline. And from that standpoint, it doesn’t, to me, state anything differently from what I’ve always shown.”

TMZ reports that the Wade’s newborn son, Xavier Zechariah Wade, was born Nov. 10, 2013. The child’s mother, Aja Metoyer, did not list Wade as the father on the child’s birth certificate, but the baby does has Wade’s last name. The publication also released the public documented birth certificate in a tweet.

  • Dwayne Wade Fathered A Child With Another Woman

Miami Heat Superstar Dwayne Wade has confirmed that he did, in fact, father a child while he and his now fiancé Gabrielle Union were separated.

The couple started dating back in 2009, but took a brief break from each other to focus on their careers. “I was dealing with my injuries, trying to win a championship, so we kinda took a step back,” Wade said. It was during that time that Wade says he fathered a baby boy.

“I had a time, a part in our break, in our pain and our hurt, a blessing came out of it in my life, having a son that was born healthy,” Wade said. “So I’m moving on.”

Reports say that Union was initially upset when she heard the news. However, it is obvious that the couple reconciled seeing as Wade just popped the question last week. Wade says that all he is concerned with is being a good father to his children. “I’ve always tried to show my importance in my kids’ lives and it doesn’t change now,” he said. “So, I, my lady and my family have continued to move forward, and I think that’s evident with the ring and the proposal that I gave her, with our lives.”

Wade says that he will continue to work out the situation privately. “But, like I said, this is something, obviously, private for my family that we will continue to deal with as a family. But we have a blessing to the bloodline, to the Wade bloodline.”

  • Gabrielle Union: She Said Yes to Dwayne Wade

Gabrielle Union said yes when Miami Heat star Dwayne Wade proposed to her on Saturday. Union, who is 41, was married once before–as was Wade, who will turn 32 in January.

Dwayne Wade proposed to Gabrielle Union shortly before the two attended the Miami Heat Christmas party. The two have dated for several years.

Those close to the couple received a bit of a hint about their future plans when they received Christmas cards from them. The return address read ‘The Wade-Union Family.’ This is the first year for that connotation, and it was continued inside the cards as well.

“Happy Holidays from the Wade-Union Family,” the signature reads.

Although no official announcement came from either Gabrielle Union or Dwayne Wade, social media was abuzz with the news.

Dwayne Wade posted the same photo to his Instagram account with the caption, “She said yes!”

The official Miami Heat team Twitter account was all to happy to share the news as well.

Dwayne Wade has spent his entire basketball career playing for the Miami Heat. The team drafted him back in 2003. Gabrielle Union is an actress who has appeared in the BET TV series Being Mary Jane, as well as films like Bring It On and Think Like A Man.

Fans are no doubt eager to learn what Gabrielle and Dwayne set for a wedding date, and to follow details of all the impending plans.

  • Dwyane Wade Makes One of His Best Moves Ever

Dwyane Wade Makes One of His Best Moves Ever

After four years of dating, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade and Hollywood starlet Gabrielle Union are officially engaged.

The news came via Wade’s Twitter account, as he gave a brief announcement of the couples engagement. “She said yes!!!” he Tweeted, and he shared a photo of the two holding hands, showing off Union’s huge but tasteful ring.

With Wade being 31 years of age and Union 10 years his senior at 41, some may consider their relationship a May-December romance, but their age difference never seemed to be a problem, at least not on the surface or through the media image the couple has presented.

This marks Wade’s second marriage, his first being to his high school sweetheart Siohvaughn Funches from 2002 to 2010, which ended in a very public divorce.

If you recall, earlier this year Funches stood on a downtown Chicago street holding a sign that expressed just how neglected she felt by the multimillionaire basketball player. The sign read “NBA Miami Heat star, mother of his children on the streets,” which Wade and his lawyer quickly responded to.

“Despite false allegations by Ms. Funches claiming to be homeless and destitute, Dwyane Wade has maintained over the years financial support to his ex-wife by providing her with income over $25,000 on a monthly basis, timely paid her home mortgage, maintenance and security at the house, 4 cars, insurance, taxes and all of her attorney fees throughout this process.”

Since then things have simmered down for the former couple.

And now, Wade seems to be floating on Cloud-9, as he and Union have been seen in public together on many occasion looking quite blissful, and they’ve done a stellar job of announcing their relationship to the public, but still not sharing that many details.

As far as the actual wedding day, there hasn’t been an announcement yet, but better believe when it does happen it’ll be a major media event. Both in Hollywood and in the sports world.

  • Gabrielle Union to Star in BET Original Series

Gabrielle Union has starred in side roles in movies such as Bring It On and Bad Boys II. Now, the actress has landed the starring role in her very own TV series.

Union will star in the upcoming BET original series Being Mary Jane. She will take on the role of Mary Jane Paul, a single talk show host who strives to balance her professional life and her struggling love life. The drama premieres Tuesday, July 2 on BET.

Union’s fans have been getting impatient for the series and have been tweeting about the show all day. Union herself has taken to retweeting a few of her choice mentions:

  • Gabrielle Union Heckles Dwyane Wade, Gets Banned from Courtside Seats

Gabrielle Union may look innocent and sweet, but beneath those incredible looks and charming smile beats the heart of a true heckler. Her professional basketball-playing boyfriend, Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade, is frequently the target of her zingers, though she isn’t above talking some smack to opposing teams and referees.

So loud and frequent are her heckles that Wade has asked her to sit a few rows back from the court. Her usual seat is right behind the Miami Heat bench.

While promoting her latest motion picture, director Tim Story’s romantic comedy “Think Like a Man”, Gabrielle opened up to Conan O’Brien about her unpopular courtside habits. When asked if she went as far as to ridicule her own boyfriend, Union wasn’t ashamed to admit the truth.

“Oh sure, I feel like who’s gonna tell him if not me?” she replied. “I’m like dance mom. … I’ve become like Bobby Knight and like the Great Fettucini, it’s bad. I scream like ‘brick!’ and ‘air ball!’”

Her attacks don’t stop with just the players. Union has been known to toss a few choice words towards referees, young and old alike. “Recently, like maybe last week, there was an older ref, perhaps it was Dick Bavetta, and I said ‘you’ll get your Viagra if you just make a call’”, the actress explained.

The couple met while co-hosting a 2007 Superbowl party. Although public scrutiny of their relationship has been particularly brutal, the pair remain dedicated and incredibly happy. As always, members of the Twitter community have something to say on the topic. A handful of their responses have been embedded below.
