If you’re a fan of American Psycho, Huey Lewis and/or Weird Al, than this video is for you. Funny or Die put out this pretty great parody of the film’s iconic Huey Lewis scene, cleverly putting Huey in the Patrick Bateman role, discussing the film’s context and Christian Bale’s performance in the manner that Bale discussed Huey and his work. Weird Al does a fine job in the Paul Allen role as well.

iSteve, Funny or Die’s Steve Jobs Biopic, Gets a Teaser Trailer
Last month, online comedy site Funny or Die announced that they had already made their own Steve Jobs biopic and were planning on launching it on April 15th.
The film, called iSteve, is set to run over an hour – much longer than most Funny or Die projects. The film stars Justin Long as Jobs (Dodgeball, Accepted, Waiting, and the “Mac” in those old PC vs Mac Apple ads). Lost‘s Jorge Garcia stars as Steve Wozniak.
Today, Funny or Die has dropped the official teaser trailer – and it doesn’t seem all that funny. Which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, of course. Just, unexpected.
iSteve will be the first of three noteworthy Steve Jobs biopics to land, premiering on April 15th. Jobs (formerly titled jOBS), or the Ashton Kutcher one, was originally slated for an April 19th release – but was recently pushed back for additional marketing. Then there’s the biggest-budget Steve Jobs biopic, Sony’s still untitled project based on Walter Isaacson’s bestselling autobiography Steve Jobs. That’s currently being penned by The Social Network and The West Wing‘s Aaron Sorkin.

Funny or Die’s Steve Jobs Biopic Will Debut April 15th
That one starring Ashton Kutcher and that one written by Aaron Sorkin aren’t the only Steve Jobs biopics in the pipeline.
If you want your Steve Jobs movie a little on the comedic and less-researched side, you’re in luck. Online comedy powerhouse Funny or Die has announced that they have made their own Steve Jobs biopic, and it will be ready to view on April 15th.
The film, titled iSteve stars Justin Long as Jobs. You may know Long for his roles in Dodgeball, Accepted, Waiting, and as the “Mac” in those old PC vs Mac Apple ads. Lost‘s Jorge Garcia stars as Steve Wozniak.
We made a movie! “iSteve” stars @justinlong & will be the FIRST Steve Jobs biopic on April 15th. Read all about it: ow.ly/jaI6Z
— Funny Or Die (@funnyordie) March 18, 2013
The film was written and directed by frequent Funny or Die contributor Ryan Perez. Unlike most Funny or Die productions, this will be a feature-length film, clocking in at somewhere between 60 and 75 minutes.
“In true Internet fashion, it’s not based on very thorough research – essentially a cursory look at the Steve Jobs Wikipedia page,” Perez told the NYT. “It’s very silly. But it looks at his whole life.”
After iSteve, the next Steve Jobs biopic on the calendar is Jobs, starring Ashton Kutcher. That film was originally slated for an April 19th release, but we just learned that it has been pushed back so that it can benefit from additional marketing.
The other, bigger-budget film is still in its early stages. That film, written by Aaron Sorkin, is based on last year’s bestselling biography Steve Jobs, written by Walter Isaacson.

That NRA Ad About President Obama’s Kids Gets a Funny or Die Response
As you may have already know, the NRA has released an ad that attacks President Obama because his kids have armed Secret Service to protect them.
“Are the President’s kids more important than yours,” asks the ad. “Then why is he skeptical about putting armed security in our schools when his kids are protected by armed guards at their school?”
Here’s that ad:
And here’s the response from Funny or Die, who argues that the security needs of the President’s family and the average family are different and comparisons are irrelevant.

Maude Apatow Does A Perfect Kardashian Impression
Over the years, Judd Apatow and his wife Leslie Mann have given us some great material, both to laugh at and repeat over and over with our friends. Who among us hasn’t run lines from “The 40-Year Old Virgin” at some point?
With that in mind, it’s not hard to believe that their offspring would be hilarious too, and 15-year old Maude sure has her comedic impressions down. After appearing in “Knocked Up” at nine years old, she’s all too familiar with her director dad’s sense of humor…and his fans’. Although this scene ended up being deleted, it’s definitely worth a watch. Check out Maude doing spot-on impressions of the Kardashian girls over a webcam chat in “This Is 40” (her young co-star’s reactions are pretty perfect, too).

Will Ferrell Helps Funny or Die Celebrate 5M Twitter Followers [VIDEO]
Humor site Funny or Die just hit a significant social media milestone: 5 million Twitter followers. And with gems like “If you live in a free world, and you’re not eating ice cream at least once a week, you’re f*cking up,” it’s no wonder people want to follow the account.
Funny or Die co-founder Will Ferrell is celebrating the news by analyzing some of the tweets that made the account so popular. How popular? Well, the account has as many followers as Singapore has people. How does he knows that? Deep Wikipediaing, my friend. Deep.

Drunk History TV Series Coming to Comedy Central This Summer
One of the funniest web series to ever exist is coming to television as Comedy Central has announced an eight-episode run of the Funny or Die original, “Drunk History.”
Drunk History first hit the web over five years ago. The premise of the short videos is simple: Someone drinks a bunch of liquor and proceeds to tell the story behind a famous historical event – the friendship of Lincoln and Douglass, Benjamin Franklin discovering electricity, Alexander Hamilton & Aaron Burr. etc.
The videos feature the drunk storyteller as narrator, but also feature dramatic recreations of the events as they unfold – as they unfold from the mouths of the drunk storytellers, of course.
Tied to produce the project are Funny or Die co-founders Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, along with creator Derek Waters and original writer/director Jeremy Konner. As you probably know from watching the original web series, A-list actors have always been eager to make an appearance in a dramatic reenactment. Online, that has included names like Jack Black, Jim Carrey, Michael Cera, Zooey Deschanel, Ryan Gosling, John C. Reilly, Jason Ritter and Danny McBride.
Apparently, we can expect more of the same when it hits Comedy Central. Episodes will run for 30 minutes and are slated to air this summer.
“Will and I have always believed booze brings out truth. Sometimes that truth involves hitting on airport bar janitors or eating cheese fries at 4 a.m. But in this case, we hope that truth will shine on our nation’s history,” said McKay.
In honor of the announcement, here’s a healthy serving of Drunk History:

Django Unchained, Les Miserables Lead Christmas Box Office
It may surprise people who never think to go to the movies on Christmas, but the day is one of the largest movie-going days of the year. My pet theory is that after the presents are opened and the brunch is devoured, families that don’t have much in common would much rather see a movie than sit and stare at each other silently.
This Christmas, two movies ran away with the majority of box office receipts on what was one of the biggest holiday movie days of all time. Les Misérables, the adaptation of the famous musical, scored the second-largest Christmas opening of all time, taking in $18.2 million in one day. A very different movie was right on the heels of Les Mis, with Quentin Tarantino’s bloody southern slave-era revenge tale Django Unchained taking in $15 million to become the third-largest Christmas opening.
The success of these films was never really in doubt. Last week, Samuel L. Jackson, who stars in Django, teamed up with Les Mis star Anne Hathaway to promote their flicks with a “sad off.” The video below is filled with NSFW language and some of the humor could even be considered racially insensitive. It’s perfect for bringing the message of despair home for the holidays:

If You’ve Seen One 3D Movie, You Really Have Seen Them All
You know, it’s funny ’cause it’s true.
Bless creator PatB and Funny or Die for this amazing trailer for “Every 3D Movie.” If you’ve sat through any movie this summer and seen a preview for the next big action movie in 3D, this might resonate. Is it Battleship? The Avengers? Brave? The answer is that it’s all of them and it doesn’t matter. That’s because apparently, there’s a set way to edit a trailer for a 3D movie and it involves buildings falling in similar ways, three things flying away from you on the screen, and weird blue lights shooting up into the sky.
To be fair to 3D, I’m sure you could do a supercut of action movies in 2D and many of the shots would be the same. But something about some of those stereotypical 3D shots have the tendency to wind up in anything and everything. I guess that’s why they’re stereotypes.
Check out the trailer for “Every 3D Movie” below. I’m sure Christopher Nolan would have a laugh at this one:

Omar Comin’ to Broadway: The Wire as a Musical
Forget Game of Thrones. Forget this magnificent season of Mad Men. The pinnacle of modern TV series storytelling has to be HBO’s much-loved show The Wire. And I’m not just saying that as a middle-class white guy who’s never been to Baltimore (the show’s stereotypical fanbase). The Wire was a brilliant show and anyone who has yet to watch it is doing themselves a tremendous disservice.
That’s why I’m so happy that they’ve decided to turn the gritty crime drama into a musical. Okay, not really. But this amazing video from Funny or Die imagines what it might look like if they did.
You have some actual actors from the series participating in the musical, as well as some interesting choices for some characters whose original actors weren’t available. For instance, Stringer Bell probably doesn’t look like the Stringer Bell you remember.
Check it out below:
The video jokes that the reviews are in from the New York Times:
“I’m pretty sure David Simon doesn’t know they’re doing this. But if he did he’d love it!”
Apparently, they were right about the show’s creator. Earlier today on his personal blog, Simon called the video “hilarious.”
“Felicia’s (Snoop) turn alone is worth the time. Ya hair look good, Snoop. Someone hand me a burner and Sondheim’s number,” he wrote.
Maybe it’s not such a far-out idea after all.

“Fifty Shades Of Blue” Video Spoof With Selena Gomez
“Fifty Shades Of Blue”, a new Funny or Die skit by Disney-channel princess Selena Gomez and “The League” actor Nick Kroll, spoofs the book “Fifty Shades of Grey” and shows a whole new side to Bieber’s special lady.
The book tells the story of a young woman who falls for a wealthy, older man and documents their sexual journey; it was a hit after its release last year and is said to have origins in “Twilight” fan fiction.
The video, however, tells the story of a young woman entranced with a ridiculously disgusting man who picks his belly-button lint in front of her and hacks up mucus in the middle of conversations. As their encounter goes on, the girl only narrates the story and never speaks, lending it another dimension of humor when Kroll comments on her creepiness.

TBS invests in Funny or Die: TV show in the works?
The 2007 startup co-founded by Will Ferrell, Funny Or Die, sees 6 million unique viewers and 60+ million video views a month. Not bad for a user-video comedy service. It was enough for Turner Broadcasting to take notice and make a minority investment in the company. The strategic partnership is aimed to increase content and sales.
“While we are incredibly excited about how this partnership will catalyze our growth and make Funny Or Die an even better place for comedic talent, we are even more excited about the opportunities this will open up to brands and advertisers to create far-reaching, hilariously funny cross-platform content and messaging,” said Dick Glover, president and CEO of Funny Or Die. “TBS, Adult Swim, Turner Digital Sales and the rest of the Turner organization are a fantastic fit with us in all ways. Plus, we are instantly gaining an even larger sales staff, something it would take us years to develop. This is very cool.”
“We’re thrilled by our acquisition of Turner,” said Adam McKay, co-founder of Funny Or Die, jokingly. “We’re now taking a long hard look at Viacom. These are heady days over here at Funny Or Die.”
The partnership will bring Funny or Die to other platforms, including television and mobile. This brings up some interesting possibilities for future TV shows. Would they do a sketch based kind of show or expand some of their current skits into a longer format. A real Zack Galifianakis talk show would be hilarious.
It is unclear if television shows will be launched on Adult Swim or if they will start making their way to TBS. Either one has interesting possibilities. According to both Turner and Funny or Die, they have already began working together on the creative side of the business.
On the not so creative side of business, Turner Digital Sales will now handle Funny or Die advertising, exclusively. This will hopefully open the doors to some big buyers, and we can see an increase in both the quantity and quality of Funny or Die’s programming.

ComComedy Site to Broadcast Standup Gigs
ComComedy, a new internet comedy channel that will screen exclusive standup and comedy festival content, is set to launch next month.
ComComedyTV has operated as a Youtube channel for the past two years, but will commence broadcasting from its own website, beginning on April 12th. All footage, even backlogged, can be viewed for free, and users aren’t required to register.
Comedians including Jimmy Carr, Griff Rhys Jones and Jon Richardson have so far appeared on the channel, and ComComedy hopes to be the largest archive of comedy circuit videos existing on the internet. The content will also include artist profiles, interviews, session gig clips and exclusive footage of unconventional location recordings.
ComComedy was founded in 2009 – the main competition would be the site Funny or Die, where users upload their own content – after 5 years online, the site generates about $40 million in revenue annually, and is worth rougly $300 million.

‘Honest Bachelor’ Spoofs The Bachelor Season Finale
David Spade gives us the “Honest” Bachelor, a swear-laden rendition of “The Bachelor”. In this version, Ben Flajnik returns to another season of The Bachelor a little bitter and jaded from the events of the previous season.
He then proceeds to verbally abuse all the women in the room with language that would make a Comedy Central Roast look tame.
Deciding to watch ‘The Bachelor’ or ‘Jersey Shore’ is like being on the toilet & deciding if you want to puke or have diarrhea on the floor.

Humor site Funny Or Die has launched a new digital magazine for the iPad. “The Occasional” is a bi-monthly magazine that will feature a variety of content including interviews, videos, games, and articles. The iPad app is available as a free download from the App Store and will appear in Newsstand. The magazine itself is $1.99 per issue, or $9.99 for an annual subscription. The Mystery of Paul McCartney Solved
Well, folks, you asked. At least the future brain surgeons and rocket scientists of America did. It’s a question that burned in our collective conscious as we staggered about, trying to figure who the hell that was performing with during The Grammys?
Who the hell is Paul McCartney?
Thanks to the hard-hitting investigative reporting of Funny or Die, the question has been answered. We now know who the hell Paul McCartney really is. As the report disclosed, the person America was asking about was actually born Sirpaul McCartney, “a hella long time ago, probably in Europe or somewhere.” Even though he might look like “that bitch from Murder, She Wrote,” make no mistake, Sirpaul is actually a boy. He’s just really old.
Confused? Allow Funny or Die to clear it up:
Hopefully, this little public service announcement will eliminate any future embarrassment, provided Sirpaul ever turns up on television again. Maybe next time, Sirpaul will have Lil B from The Pack with him.
