Olsen Twins: John Stamos Says Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Are Lying About Not Knowing of ‘Full House’ Spinoff

The Olsen twins made news recently when they claimed they just found out about the Netflix reboot of Full House. Fuller House is set to air on Netflix next year in a premiere season featuring 13 episodes. The show will star Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber in their Full House roles as D.J. Tanner, Stephanie Tanner, and Kimmy Gibbler. John Stamos will reprise his role as Uncle Jesse on a recurring basis. He is also one of the show’s producers.

When word broke last week about Fuller House, it was said that actors Lori Loughlin, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, and the Olsen twins were in talks about whether or not they would reprise their roles on a recurring basis as well. Shortly thereafter, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen claimed they didn’t even know the spinoff was happening.

“We just found out about it…I guess we’re going to talk to the creators and see what’s happening…I’m shocked I haven’t heard from John [Stamos],” Mary-Kate Olsen said.

This clearly raised the ire of John Stamos, who spoke out via Twitter.

Does this indicate there’s been some trouble among old Full House cast mates?

Lori Loughlin indicated recently that perhaps some of the show’s actors weren’t offered deals quite as lucrative as those Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, and Andrea Barber received. But she also admitted money certainly isn’t an issue for the Olsen twins.

“They made deals with half the cast, but not the other half,” she said. “I think we would all like to come back, if the powers that be are fair to all of us,” Loughlin–who played Aunt Becky, wife of John Stamos’s character Uncle Jesse–said during an interview with Access Hollywood.

What do you suppose the real deal is with the Olsen twins? Have they become way too big for their Michelle Tanner britches?

And are you shocked to see ‘nice guy’ John Stamos call ‘bullsh*t’ on the fact that they said they knew nothing about the spinoff or talks of reprisal deals?

That said, what do you suppose the chances are that the Olsen twins will appear on Fuller House? And even if they did, how would they handle the two girls–one role situation?

Jodie Sweetin Expands On “Fuller House” Plot

Jodie Sweetin is super excited to be part of the upcoming Netflix Full House spinoff, Fuller House.

Jodie Sweetin sat down with Entertainment Weekly to talk about returning to the screen as Stephanie Tanner.

As Stephanie, Jodie Sweetin grew up in front of our eyes and she can’t wait to work with her TV family again.

Jodie Sweetin said of the opportunity, “For a really long time, this is something we had hopes for—and I had gotten to a place where I was like, ‘You know what? If it happens, it happens.’ I had no control over it. Jeff Franklin and I had a conversation yesterday, and we realized the first time we met and talked about bringing Full House back as a spinoff series was like, 2007 or 2008. Now that it’s actually happening, it’s almost too good to be true.”

She continued, “To be able to do a series with people I love—who are like family—to play a character I loved so much and to be able to do that in this point in my life when things are going so well for me and I have a completely different perspective on things… I’m really, incredibly grateful.”

Jodie Sweetin also explained more about what the show will be about, so that fans can get set in their minds what to expect when the show debuts next year.

She said, “It’s based around D.J., Stephanie and Kimmy, so there’s still going to be that really fun dynamic, which I’m looking forward to—Stephanie and Kimmy being arch nemeses, and teaming up to help D.J. [a pregnant, widowed mom of two].”

Jodie Sweetin added, “It will be very similar, certainly, to the first Full House, but we’re definitely trying to bring it back as a little more modern take. Stephanie has sort of been the wild world traveler, and I’m looking forward to bringing to life Stephanie as she is today and creating a real backstory for her. She’s a free spirit, and that will be obvious in the character she’s become.”

Are you looking forward to seeing Jodie Sweetin as Stephanie Tanner again?

  • Andrea Barber, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin: ‘Fuller House’

Andrea Barber, best known for her role on the hit TV series Full House, will soon reprise that role. Barber, along with Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin will all return in the show’s spinoff, Fuller House, set to air via Netflix in 2016. Bure and Sweetin played D.J. Tanner and her younger sister, Stephanie.

Kimmy Gibbler and D.J. Tanner were best friends on Full House, and the actresses who played them–Andrea Barber and Candace Cameron Bure–are best friends in real life, too. They are very excited to be working together once again.

The two shared their sentiments about the reprisal of their roles after word was released Monday via Netflix that the spinoff is a go.

    Candace Cameron Bure quickly replied.

In addition to Andrea Barber, Candace Cameron Bure, and Stephanie Tanner, John Stamos has signed on to play Uncle Jesse on a recurring basis. Stamos is also one of the producers for Fuller House.

Lori Loughlin, the Olsen twins, Bob Saget, and Dave Coulier are all in talks to reprise their roles on a guest starring basis.

John Stamos announced confirmation of the spinoff while a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! following the Netflix announcement on Monday.

Will you be tuning in some time next year to see Full House stars Andrea Barber, Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, John Stamos and more reprise their roles in Fuller House? Are you among those fans who have awaited this reunion for many years?

  • Candace Cameron Bure, Andrea Barber: ‘Full House’ Spinoff May Happen

Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber are likely best known for their roles as DJ Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler on Full House. Now it sounds like a Full House spinoff–starring Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber–may actually happen.

Netflix is working on the deal, which means the spinoff won’t air on network TV, but fans of Full House would likely go to any lengths to see a spinoff of their beloved show.

Us Weekly reports that Bob Saget, John Stamos, and Dave Coulier–known for their roles as Danny Tanner, Uncle Jesse, and Uncle Joey, respectively, may make guest appearances on the spinoff.

Neither Candace Cameron Bure nor Andrea Barber has commented yet on the likelihood of a spinoff. The two have remained close friends since Full House ended back in 1995.

“I think we value friendships. And it’s true: I can’t look at any other show and see the casts that are still hanging out and are as tight as we are,” Candace Cameron Bure told Us Weekly back in August of 2014.

“I think being moms really brought us closer together,” Andrea Barber said at that time.

If the Full House spinoff comes to fruition, fans will get to see Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber in a 13-episode spinoff series.

Are you among those jumping up and down with excitement at the notion of DJ Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler appearing in a series together again?

Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber are both 38. Do you expect they’ll still have the same appeal they had during their days on Full House?
