  • Gisele Audited by IRS After Listed as Forbes’ Highest-Paid Model

Brazilian supermodel, Gisele Bundchen, was recently reviewed by the IRS after making “The World’s Highest-Paid Models of 2013” list on Forbes.

According to Forbes, the 33-year-old earned $42 million last year and “replaced Beyoncé as the face of H&M, reportedly beat out Rihanna for Chanel and took over David Yurman from Kate Moss.”

This assessment obviously comes at a time when taxes are due for completion tomorrow, Tuesday April 15.

But, the mother-of-two and wife of NFL player Tom Brady told sources that Forbes’ calculations-determined by merchandising partnerships, photo shoots, contracts, and other fashion gigs-were terribly off.

“It’s sad because the people who write these things don’t have my bank-account details,” she told Brazilian magazine Mdemulher, according to Mail Online.

And, it appears that making it on the list doesn’t impress Bundchen whatsoever.

“I do OK, I earn plenty, but not as much as they say,” she said. “I’ve already been audited by the IRS because of this list, and, truthfully, whether I’m on this list or not doesn’t interest me.”

She later stated: “I’ve got the same interests, the same day-to-day life, as any woman. I want to raise my children well, be a good wife and work.”

The supermodel apparently doesn’t view figures as of importance to her daily life. To her, family is what truly matters.

“This is what I value: Are my children educated, is my husband happy, are people feeling positive energy from me? There should be a magazine to quantify knowledge, understanding and love for people: That is power.”

Bundchen ranked first place yet again for the seventh year in a row, supposedly making her the richest and most powerful supermodel in the fashion industry.

However, after thorough investigation, the IRS determined that Forbes’ estimations were actually more than what Bundchen garnered in 2013.

Additionally, models Miranda Kerr ($7.2M), Adriana Lima ($6M), and Kate Moss ($5.7M) made the list.

  • Bill Gates Tops Forbes’ 2014 List Of 500 Richest People

On March 3rd, Forbes, the well-known American business and financial information magazine, released its yearly tally of the 500 richest people that the magazine has been closely following. The list was first published in 2000 and includes various well-known names, such as: Prince Al-Waleed, Warren Buffet, various members of the Walton family, Michael Dell, and Paul Allen; however, this year, former Microsoft CEO and philanthropist Bill Gates wins the #1 slot on Forbes’ “500 Richest People” list.

2014’s Forbes Billionaires: Full List Of The World’s 500 Richest People was published online at 7:00 AM EST by Abram Brown. In Brown’s commentary of the “500 Richest People,” he mentions his methodology for compiling this comprehensive list and states that the billionaires included within the list are “worth $6.4 trillion, a greater sum than any other Forbes has previously calculated.”

As for the list’s #1 spot, Bill Gates (listed under Microsoft) was listed at $76 billion, beating out Carlos Slim Helu & family of Mexico’s Telmex corporation, who was listed at $72 billion. Brown praised Gates in the following statement in Forbes’ article:

“Bill Gates saw the potential in PCs before anyone else truly grasped the commercial value of the concept. His foresight allowed him to build Microsoft into a $400 billion behemoth, and made him a passionate believer in the system that allowed him to do so.”

The “Top 5” richest people included in Brown’s list are:

    1. Bill Gates ($76 billion) – Microsoft
    2. Carlos Slim Helu & family ($72 billion) – telecom
    3. Amancio Ortega ($64 billion) – retail
    4. Warren Buffett ($58.2 billion) – Berkshire Hathaway
    5. Larry Ellison ($48 billion) – Oracle

It has been a while since Gates has been listed #1 on Forbes’ list. For the past few years, Gates has appeared in the #2 spot since his last #1 appearance in 2009. Other well-known names who are included within the list are: Michael Bloomberg ($33 billion) of Bloomberg LP, Mark Zuckerberg ($28.5 billion) of Facebook, Rupert Murdoch ($13.5 billion) of FOX, and Eric Schmidt ($9.3 billion) of Google.

Forbes also tweeted the announcement of the “500 Richest People” list on Twitter:

  • Britney Spears’ Earnings Top Forbes List

Britney Spears may be the last name you expect to see on a list of top earners, but her comeback has become official; Forbes says she is the top female earner in the music industry for 2012, just ahead of Taylor Swift. Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Katy Perry rounded out the top five on the list.

Spears has been carefully constructing her return to the spotlight after a breakdown, nasty court disagreements, allegations of drug abuse, and thousands of ugly headlines full of speculation and rumor. Her last album, Femme Fatale, and the subsequent tour plus a new gig on the enormously popular talent show “X Factor” and the release of a new perfume have given her bragging rights, as she brought in a whopping $58 million in the past year.

While some may be surprised at the top earner, longtime fans say they always knew she’d be back.

Music attorney Lori Landew, who helped sign Spears to her first record deal as a teenager, describes the star as one who knows how to work her fanbase.

“Britney has an electricity that connects with audiences on screen and off, and it is that intangible quality that always seems to leave her fans, old and new, breathless,” she said.

  • Most Overpaid Actor: Forbes’ List May Surprise You

It’s time for the annual Forbes’ list of celebrity earnings, and the section reserved for this year’s overpaid actors may hold some surprising names.

Heading the top ten is Eddie Murphy, who went from raunchy “Beverly Hills Cop” to kid-friendly fare in a heartbeat; the only problem is, the raunchy stuff brought in more dough at the box office. It’s estimated that Murphy only brings in about $2.30 for every dollar he’s paid per film, a sad turn of events for the comedian who once drew in sold-out crowds to his stand-up performances.

Following Murphy on the list is Katherine Heigl, who doesn’t fare much better with box office returns with an estimated $3.40 for every dollar she’s paid. Her foray into romantic comedy seemed a good fit at one time, but things have stalled a bit since 2007’s “Knocked Up”, the Judd Apatow vehicle which got her into some hot water when she described it as “sexist”.

“It paints the women as shrews, as humorless and uptight, and it paints the men as lovable, goofy, fun-loving guys,” she said in an interview. “It exaggerated the characters, and I had a hard time with it, on some days. I’m playing such a bitch; why is she being such a killjoy? Why is this how you’re portraying women? Ninety-eight percent of the time it was an amazing experience, but it was hard for me to love the movie.”

The comments were blasted online and all over entertainment news sites, with her co-stars taking offense to her description. Since then, it seems her image has taken a bit of a hit. Even “One For The Money”, based on the hugely successful book series by Janet Evanovich, wasn’t enough to rake in the money; it fell short of its $40 million budget at the box office.

Among some of the other names on the list–which might not come as such a shock–are stars one would think still have some earning power under their belt, like Ben Stiller, Reese Witherspoon, and Denzel Washington. However, it takes more than a big name to bring in movie-goers these days, and if the film is one they feel has been done to death, the returns will show it.

    Here are the top ten:

    1. Eddie Murphy – Returns $2.30 for every $1 paid.
    2. Katherine Heigl – Returns $3.40 for every $1 paid.
    3. Reese Witherspoon – Returns $3.90 for every $1 paid.
    4. Sandra Bullock – Returns $5 for every $1 paid.
    5. Jack Black – Returns $5.20 for every $1 paid.
    6. Nicolas Cage – Returns $6 for every $1 paid
    7. Adam Sandler – Returns $6.30 for every $1 paid.
    8. Denzel Washington – Returns $6.30 for every $1 paid.
    9. Ben Stiller – Returns $6.50 for every $1 paid.
    10. Sarah Jessica Parker – Returns $7 for every $1 paid.

  • Ashton Kutcher Is Richer Than You’ll Ever Be

Forbes has released their top earners on TV for the year, and taking the number one slot is Ashton Kutcher, who earned around $24 million between May of last year and the same month this year after signing on to “Two And A Half Men” after Charlie Sheen left.

Hugh Laurie and Ray Romano take the next spots, with Alec Baldwin and Mark Harmon rounding out the top 5.

So, to recap, Ashton Kutcher can swim in his money like Scrooge McDuck and is dating the Sexiest Woman Alive. Happy Thursday!
