  • Jessa Duggar Digs in for Online Kiss with New Hubby

Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald waited over a year to have their first kiss. Then a thousand people turned up at their wedding to see it happen. And they cheated everyone by not kissing in the ceremony either.

“They wanted their very first kiss ever to be in private,” said officiating pastor Mike Schadt. “It was important to both of them.”

Among wedding attendees was Christmas-saver and Halloween revisionist historian Kirk Cameron, who flew in with his own daughters to celebrate the couple who barely touched until their wedding day.

“We flew to the Duggar hometown,” Cameron posted, “not only to be part of the fun and excitement of honoring this precious couple, but as a father, I want my daughters to see what it looks like when a couple reserves their ‘first kiss’ for at the altar. Wow! This kind of moral excellence and purity is rare today.”

Not sure why Kirk Cameron put “first kiss” in quote marks. By all accounts, they had not kissed before. In fact that was part of Duggar dad Ben’s rules for dating his daughter.

“Dad allowed them to do a side hug when they were officially courting,” Jessa’s mom Michelle said. “Jessa and Ben have said that was the only contact they would have, when they initially greet each other, when he comes to visit for their first hello, they have a quick 30 second or less side hug and a goodbye side hug and they agreed that would be the only contact they should have.”

“They want to wait on the physical relationship until later,” she explained. “If there is an engagement that comes about, they will work together on their goals and standards for that.”

But now that the wedding night is behind them and the Duggar-style baby-making is ahead of them, Jessa and Ben have finally given their adoring public what they wanted: a picture of two inexperienced people kissing like there’s no tomorrow.

  • Strangers Kiss in Tatia Pilieva’s Short Film

As I opened up my iPad for my daily pre-shower Pinterest browsing session I came across a black and white still that captured my attention. A friend of mine had pinned this picture of a man and woman in a locked embrace that was so passionate I had to force myself to look away. It was simply mesmerizing. The caption to the picture read, “strangers kissing.”

But why did my friend feel the need to pin a picture of two random people in a deep embrace? And why did I find the picture so beautiful?

After logging onto Facebook, I was greeted once more by the intriguing black and white picture. Yet another friend of mine shared the image but this time I realized it was a video. So naturally, my curiosity drew me in to click on the box that contained such vast visual appeal with equal parts intrigue.

Tatia Pilieva’s short film appropriately titled, First Kiss has one simple premise: Get 20 complete strangers to intimately kiss. Nothing more.

It sounds bizarre and I suppose it is. But after having watched the film, I thought it was perfect in its own non-perfect way.

It was awkward, it was random but it was interesting. It was so interesting. It made me smile and it made me happy.
