  • Nina Dobrev Had No Idea How Big Vampire Diaries Was

Nina Dobrev is done with Vampire Diaries. Despite the best efforts of Executive Producer Julie Plec to get her star to stay, Nina Dobrev had a six-season contract. Her time is up, and she is moving on.

There are rumors that Nina Dobrev may be looking to get into a film series, perhaps a superhero franchise or a Young Adult series to launch her film career.

In a recent interview with TV Guide, Nina Dobrev revealed that she did not realize how big a phenomenon The Vampire Diaries had become in the earlier days of the show.

“It wasn’t until we started doing press tours and began traveling across the globe to promote the show that we realized how popular it was and how big the fandom was. Also, I don’t feel any different and I surround myself with people who don’t treat me any different. So I know the show is very popular, but I don’t have people who give me special treatment by any means.”

In fact, Nina Dobrev says that it was a high school kid who first clued them in to just how big a deal the show was to kids.

“But I think one of the first few times I realized was when a friend of a friend’s kid in high school said our poster from the show was on their locker and all over their rooms. I was like ‘Really?’ And they were like, ‘Yeah, unless you watch The Vampire Diaries on Thursday nights you have nothing to talk about on Fridays.’ When somebody told me that I was like, ‘We’re a pop culture reference now; that’s so cool!’”

That kept-in-the-dark feeling stayed with Nina Dobrev throughout the series. She reveals that it was not just Julie Plec’s choice, but her own choice to know as little about the arc of her character ahead of time as possible.

“I never knew what was going to happen more than an episode in advance, let alone during the course of the series! And I liked it that way. After a few years Julie trusted us a little more and would tell people more, but I never wanted to know more than what was happening in that episode because it helped me go through what the character was going through. I wanted to be just as shocked when I read it for the first time when she felt that heartache or pain or whatever it was.”

In fact, she has not even seen the final episode that she appears in yet.

“I felt like there was closure for me and there will be closure for the character. And now the adventure begins for both me and the show, and it’ll have a different vibe and energy, but I’m looking forward to how Julie does it because she does it so well.”

  • Chelsea Handler Gives An Emotional Goodbye

Chelsea Handler Gives An Emotional Goodbye

Chelsea Handler, the American comedian known for her crazy antics and sarcasm, gave an emotional goodbye on the finale of her late-night show Chelsea Lately.

Before addressing the camera, Handler and Ellen DeGeneres performed a hysterical shower scene and Miley Cyrus and 50 Cent performed.

Then, Handler’s BFFs Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock, and Mary McCormack, who appeared on Handler’s very first show, staged a fake intervention, with Mary using Netflix as a euphemism for rehab. “Netflix is a wonderful facility that will give you all the help you need,” Mary said.

    Watch the clips below:

Chelsea, who is not known for being the serious type, then took the time to address the crowd and the millions of people who have made her show a success. “First of all, I want to say thank you to every single person who showed up for me tonight,” she said. Many other celebrities stopped by to see their friend off including Gwen Stefani, Selena Gomez, Tim Gunn, and Trace Adkins.

She then thanked “everybody who works on the show, the crew and the sound people who have to deal with my bad moods and my good moods and the bad people I dated and the good people I dated.”

“I never really got a good chance to be serious and say ‘thank you’ and I want you to know that I am grateful for this career, thank you very much,” Chelsea continued. “Thank you to my family and mom. I hope you’re watching me! I’ll see you on Netflix!”

  • Alyson Hannigan Talks Emotional Series Finale

Alyson Hannigan has spent nearly a decade of her life playing the character Lily on the television series How I Met Your Mother.

With the series finale quickly approaching, Hannigan sat down with Time to talk about her feelings about the show coming to an end.

Hannigan explained that filming the final season wasn’t as hard as she expected. She, and the other cast members, were very busy during filming so it made it easier for them to get used to not seeing each other every day.

“You know, I think I did most of my grieving at the end of the season because now I feel like, ‘Oh, that was great!’ This ninth season was shot around so many different schedules, and it was such a weird season that it was almost like our methadone,” she explained. “It was a nice way of getting used to not seeing everyone every day of the week. So it prepared us for the finality of it all.”

The finale is set to air on March 31, and Hannigan informed us that she would be watching the episode from the comfort of her home due to her having to film a pilot that day. She said it was probably best that she stay home because she would probably get very emotional watching the show finally come to its conclusion. “… all the blubbering I’ll do, I should probably stay at home,” Hannigan said. “I shouldn’t be out in public.”

Fans are anxiously awaiting to find out if the mother will be revealed. Some believe that she has been dead all along, but Hannigan wouldn’t confirm the rumor. “We could all be dead. Who knows? But I just love that even though it’s only [two] episodes left, people are still trying to figure out the end. As Barney would say, wait for it!”

The only thing that Hannigan would say is that the episode will definitely be a tearjerker. “I killed a lot of trees with my crying,” Hannigan revealed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Tuesday. “99 percent of the room was crying. That’s executives and everything.”

  • Pretty Little Liars Season Finale Recap

Pretty Little Liars Season Finale Recap

Warning: If you did not get to watch the season finale of Pretty Little Liars, STOP reading. Spoilers are ahead.

The Pretty Little Liars season four finale just ended, leaving viewers with even more questions than they had before.

In the episode Ali Tells All, Spencer, Aria, Emily, and Hannah finally track down Alison. She has been staying above a restaurant while the owner was out of town. He agreed to let her stay if she kept an eye on the place.

Alison tells the girls that she is ready to tell them everything that has happened to her, and what she says is shocking! Not only did Spencer not kill Ali, Ali’s mother buried her alive. Yes … you read that correctly.

Spencer had been fighting memories of the night Ali was supposedly killed, thinking that she had been the one to murder her while she was still using drugs. However, Ali reveals that she and Spencer did have a fight, but she was sleeping soundly when she left the barn.

Alison had been receiving messages from A for quite a while, but it had not progressed to any physical harm until that night. While Ali was looking through the window at her mother, someone threw a rock at her, knocking her unconscious. Alison’s mother then proceeded to bury her daughter, not realizing that she was still breathing. Alison revealed that her mother kept talking to someone saying, “what have you done”, over and over hysterically.

Ali manages to get out of her shallow grave, and is found by Mona walking down the street. Mona plays Alison and pretends to help her, when she was helping A the entire time.

While Alison is telling her friends all of the details, the police are searching for them. They locate Spencer’s car, but not the girls. At the end of the episode, someone shattered the glass of the restaurant window and started shooting at the girls. They ran up the fire escape, to the roof, but find that there is nowhere else to go. After reaching the top of the building, Ezra appeares, but he is not the shooter. He yells at the person holding the gun, who then shoots at Ezra. Hannah grabbs the gun and pointed it at the person who had been chasing them, and all of the girls start yelling at him to take off his mask. However, he jumps off of the building, leaving his identity still unknown.

The girls are left standing there in shock. Aria walks over to Ezra, and then realizes that he has been shot. He falls to the ground and closes his eyes with all of the girls surrounding him screaming. Then, in true Pretty Little Liars fashion, we are left hanging, wondering who was trying to kill the girls and if Ezra is going to live.

Sadly, we will have to wait until summer to find out the answers to our questions. Season five is scheduled to premiere on June 10, 2014.

  • Carrie Ann Inaba Talks DWTS Finale

The question on everyone’s mind…who will be the winner of the 17th season of Dancing with the Stars? The first part of the two-part finale aired last night on ABC. The second part will air tonight and the winner will be announced.

During a recent interview with TVGuide.com, Carrie Ann Inaba talked about the final four contestants and described the competition as having “two completely different types of competitors.”

“I think we have two completely different types of competitors,” Inaba said. “We have Corbin and Amber, who are in one class. And then you have Jack and Bill, who are totally of a different class. I think it’s really interesting the way the fans have voted. I think people are really a fan of the whole idea of somebody who doesn’t know how to dance really making the transformation, which is what Jack and Bill fall into.”

Inaba also talked about the person to beat on the show…Bill Engvall. Throughout the season, Engvall’s fans voted to keep him in the competition, even when he received lower scores than the other dancers.

“I think we’ve gone back to what the heart of the show is, which makes me really proud of our viewers,” Inaba says. “They remember what the show was about when we first started, which was taking people who didn’t know dancing and transforming them into dancers. I think that it’s really nice to see people voting that way. … People like watching people that they can relate to [and] they’re rewarding somebody who’s just going for it, gung ho, not afraid, and sometimes making a fool out of himself. But he’s having a great time and he’s doing it the way it should be done, which is all in good spirits and all in good fun.”

However, last night just was not Engvall’s night, as he left the competition, leaving only three to fight for the trophy. The final three contestants were revealed and are Jack Osbourne, Amber Riley, and Corbin Bleu.

“Well, it just goes to prove to me that there is a God because I couldn’t make one more dance,” said Bill. “I can’t tell you how proud I am of Emma. She’s like my second daughter now — we just had a blast.” He thanked the judges and then made a special point of thanking his wife, Gail, who was in the audience every week. “I will never forget this — and thanks to the fans who voted this long.”

Tune in to ABC tonight for the crowning of the new winner.
