  • Eddie Murphy Is Gonna Be A Daddy For The Ninth Time, GF Paige Butcher Is Pregnant

Congratulations are in order for actor and comedian Eddie Murphy.

The SNL alum seemed to be in high spirits when he was spotted out and about on Thursday morning. Murphy, who is usually averse to the paparazzi, indulged them with a modest smile while walking back to his car from a local Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in Los Angeles.

Photographers were hoping to get a glimpse – and perhaps, a few snapshots – of Murphy’s girlfriend, Australian model Paige Butcher, but to no avail. A representative of Murphy recently confirmed to USA TODAY that the couple is expecting their first child together.

This is will be baby number nine for the 54-year-old actor, and number one for 36-year-old Butcher. Murphy sires eight other children whose ages range from 26 to 8. He has five children with his former wife of 22 years, Nicole Mitchell; one son each with Tamara Hood and Paulette McNeely; and an eight-year-old girl named angel with former Spice Girl Melanie “Mel B” Brown.

Butcher talked about her relationship with the prolific and well-respected actor in 2013 during an exclusive interview with Vanity Fair magazine. Even after being together for four years and counting, the couple has not seen much media attention because as Butcher said, “I like to keep as much private as possible now.”

“I’m in a relationship with a celebrity, so I felt like there’s already enough of me out there,” she added, explaining why she decided to keep off social media.

Meanwhile, Murphy was recently awarded with the prestigious Mark Twain Prize at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington. While delivering his acceptance speech, the Nutty Professor actor made a jab at fellow recipient Bill Cosby, who is currently facing multiple rape and sexual assault charges.

“Bill has one of these,” Murphy said of this trophy. “Did you all make Bill give his back? Because I know there was a big outcry from people they were trying to get all of Bill’s trophies back.”

“You know you f— up when they want you to give your trophies back,” he told the audience, who laughed at the dig.

  • Jackie Chan Wants Media To Stop Making False Reports About His Imprisoned Son

At a press conference for his new movie Skiptrace, Jackie Chan was recently asked about his son Jaycee Chan, who was arrested on drug charges by the Chinese government in August. The elder Chan told reporters on Thursday, October 23, that he wanted to be a better father to Jaycee and implored the press to not hurt his wife, former actress Joan Lin, by printing false news about their son.

“I know as much about him as everyone else. I ask the media to please not report anything without proof. Please do not hurt Siu Fong Ji’s Mama [Joan Lin] and publish untrue reports. If necessary, I will give a clear explanation to everyone,” said Chan.

Chan revealed that he has been focusing on his film work, shooting by day and editing by night. He claims that his son’s arrest has had no impact on his career, despite rumors that Chan had to kneel in front of authorities and that the release of his film was delayed. Chan also denied such rumors.

There were also rumors that Chan and Lin visited Jaycee at a detention center and that Lin wished she had been jailed instead of her son. However, these were denied by Jaycee’s manager, who said that Lin had not left Hong Kong.

At the press conference in Beijing, Chan admitted that he could have been a better father to his son. “I am always a father. I used to be an unqualified father. Now, after this event, I want to be a qualified father,” he said.

Jaycee numbered among celebrities who were caught during a crackdown on drug abuse in Beijing and other parts of China earlier this year. More than 100 grams of marijuana were found in his apartment, and Jaycee is accused of accommodating drug users, which could land him up to three years in prison.

  • 13-Year-Old Father Alfie Patten Isn’t What He Thought He Was, DNA Tests Prove

Alfie Patten, who in 2012 broke UK records by becoming a 13-year-old father, was recently discovered not to be the father of the baby of Chantelle Steadman, his then 15-year-old girlfriend. DNA tests have reportedly proven that Alfie isn’t the father of Maisie Roxanne, the supposed result of the one time he and Steadman had sex during their relationship.

After several boys claimed to have had sex with Chantelle, Alfie’s mother Nicola Patten was able to convince him to take a DNA test, explaining that it would establish his paternity over Maisie. The results showing he wasn’t the baby’s father apparently devastated Alfie. “When we told Alfie the baby wasn’t his he was absolutely hysterical. He burst out crying and then he ran out of the room,” said Nicola. “It was a lot to deal with for an adult, let alone someone his age. But he dealt with it brilliantly.”

“When I found out about the DNA I was sad at first. I suppose if you want something that badly you make yourself believe it’s true,” said Alfie, who is now 15 years old. “But I just moved on. Family helped. Friends helped.”

The test also reportedly proved that Alfie was and still is a virgin, said Nicola. Alfie’s mother also claimed that he wanted to stay that way until he was 18 years old.

Back in 2012, Alfie made headlines when he was announced to be a father at age 13. His face has even been used on some condoms being sold on the Internet and Alfie became a subject talked about in places such as Parliament and news shows. Now that DNA results have shown that Alfie wasn’t a father after all, the boy’s life is once again under scrutiny.

“I don’t want a girl to be ashamed to take him home to meet her parents because they’ll think he was the one who got a girl pregnant when he was 12,” said Nicola.

  • Cecil Chao Doubles Offer to Any Man Who Weds Lesbian Daughter

A Hong Kong real estate billionaire has doubled the reward amount to any man who is willing to win over his lesbian daughter’s heart.

In 2012, Cecil Chao initially set the amount for $65 million after receiving news that his daughter, 33-year-old Gigi Chao, married her girlfriend of seven years.

Cecil claimed last year that his daughter’s sexual orientation was none of his business or concern, but his actions reveal other wise.

After 20,000 unsuccessful suitors, the billionaire has now doubled the amount to $120 million.

“I would not force her to marry a man,” he said. “But obviously I would, from my point of view, prefer her to be married and to have grandchildren.”

Cecil even stands by the assumption that his daughter is still single, although that’s clearly not the case. He believes that because she is still young that her sexual preference could somehow transform all of a sudden.

Gigi is already a very successful career-driven humanitarian. As the executive director of her father’s property development company, she is also chair of the Faith in Love Foundation.

Cecil has added the fact that he hopes to have his daughter inherit his business someday. How that has anything to do with her sexuality is unclear.

Thus, Gigi HAS MADE IT CLEAR that she is very happy with her marriage and no man would ever be able to change that. (image)

Shockingly, Gigi has stated that she is not at all upset by her father’s efforts to find her a man. She ultimately views it as “fatherly love;” a father’s sincere concern and willingness to do anything for his child.

Gigi’s wife Sean Eav, however, is devastated by Cecil’s relentless offers to break their marriage apart.  In response, Gigi has asked her father to avoid reporting his “bounty” efforts to the press for the sake of her and Eav’s private relationship.

“I understand that he loves me, it’s just he’s from another time and it’s difficult for him to understand the plight of the LGBT [community]. At the office it’s business as usual. At family gatherings we hug and dance. And we just agree to disagree on what marriage is and family is,” she reported to the South China Morning Post.

Gigi is an LGBT advocate and leads her own gay rights group, which helps to alleviate discrimination against sexual minorities.

As for the “bounty” award, it still stands. Hopefully someday Cecil will be able to accept and embrace his daughter’s lifestyle.

  • Simon Cowell: Prepping For Fatherhood?

Whether or not Simon Cowell will have the “X-Factor” to be a good father remains to be seen, but he was seen getting a bit of practice on the baby front.

The music mogul was spotted with pregnant girlfriend, Lauren Silverman, at the beach during their luxurious vacation in Barbados. In photos, Cowell is shown saying hello to an adorable little boy. What the conversation was about is anyone’s guess. Perhaps he was getting tips for midnight feedings. Or maybe the little tyke was asking about whether or not he has the chops for a singing career some day. It was clearly a light-hearted scene, and if Cowell is nervous or reluctant to be around kids, it certainly doesn’t show.

His girlfriend Silverman is showing. Clad in a simple black bathing suit, it was very clear that her due date is quickly approaching. There was a baby shower at Cowell’s Beverly Hills home earlier in the month.

They are anticipating a baby boy, who will be 54-year-old Simon Cowell’s first child. They also admitted to having a baby name already picked. If you’re hoping to find out what that name is, you’re just going to have to wait. The couple have no plans to announce the name until probably after their infant son is born.

We all know that celebrities can sometimes get a little crazy when it comes to baby names. In an effort to “stand out” from the crowd, they often embarrass their kids for life. Some of us are still not over Pilot Inspektor and Jermajesty is about as obnoxious as you can get. A name like Matthew or Thomas might be a little too plain for their liking as well.

What do you think Simon and Lauren will name their kid? Do you think Cowell is ready for fatherhood?

  • How to Be a Dad – Government Knows Best?

For those of you that enjoyed your Father’s day weekend, the federal government wants to remind you that being a father isn’t all presents and cookouts. The job is far from over, and the government wants to help you out by giving you “tips” on how to be a better dad in the form of instructional videos and outreach programs.

Our government has released a website that is to be used as an instructional tool for all the would be fathers out there. The parenting tips can be found at www.fatherhood.gov and are brought to you by the National Responsible Fatherhood Clearinghouse. Fathers can go to the site to get involved with outreach programs with other fathers in their community. They can also share stories and thoughts on what it means to be a father on the DadTalk Blog.

It links to to the videos on the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences’ Psychiatric Research Institute’s Web site that gives helpful hints for being a better father. Most of them are simple tasks to do with your children, like helping them develop healthy eating habits, brushing their teeth, washing hands and going to the library.

The site is funded with taxpayer money, and launched during the Clinton administration. It is currently being funded by the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 and is intended for “the development, promotion, and distribution of a media campaign to encourage the appropriate involvement of parents in the life of any child and specifically the issue of responsible fatherhood, and the development of a national clearinghouse to assist states and communities in efforts to promote and support marriage and responsible fatherhood.”

These tips could possibly be helpful to people that don’t know how to do these things. But who really doesn’t know how to show a child how to brush their teeth, or how to read a book to them. Which raises the question, is this website at all necessary? It is everyone’s duty to be socially responsible and teach their children how to be a proper person, but does the government really need to get involved in this? Some are going to argue that social initiatives like this will ultimately help Americans move forward as a society, others are going to argue that this is just another way for the government to enter our households.

One thing is certain, no one has ever said their dad was a good father because the government showed him how.
