  • Wesley Snipes on Prison: ‘You Can’t Take Life Too Seriously’

Wesley Snipes has served his time behind bars and is now back in his first role since being released — The Expendables 3 — joining his friend, Sylvester Stallone.

On Monday Snipes joked that Stallone had him slated for the first Expendables film but he couldn’t commit because he was “just a little occupied at the time.”

“They reserved a spot for me and when the opportunity came along he reached out again and said come join us, we would like you to be a part of this.”

Snipes began his jail term in December 2010 after being convicted and sentenced to three years in prison for tax evasion in 2008.

The movie takes a jab at Snipes’ time behind bars in the opening scenes with a tax-evasion joke.

Stallone also had a few jokes of his own to share about his friend’s time in prison.

“You don’t mind that I’m readying you for a part in Escape From Alcatraz 2 do you?” Stallone asked Snipes at a press conference in London.

“Whether I do something really funny or really stupid, it is okay with me,” said the 52-year-old actor. “I think that is what life is about. You can’t take life itself too seriously.”

At the end of the day, nobody really cares. You’re going to be forgotten anyway. The issues and problems that you think are like mountains that you have to deal with now, after time goes by, nobody cares. Might as well have a good time with it.”

The 52-year-old actor is eager to get back into the rhythm of filming action projects and is especially hopeful to return to his role as the vampire in the Blade franchise.

“A lot of people are calling for it and I would like to do it,” he said.

  • Pierce Brosnan Talks ‘Expendables’

    Pierce Brosnan Talks ‘Expendables’

Pierce Brosnan is ready to take on action films again, and he has his eye on one film franchise in particular – The Expendables!

According to The Wrap, the famed James Bond star expressed that he would be elated to be a part of the fourth installment of the Expendables film series. The 61-year-old actor also revealed that a deal is in the works and he’s discussed the possibilities with the film’s producer, Avi Lerner.

“Oh, the offer has come in for the next ‘Expendables’. I just worked over in Bulgaria with Avi Lerner who makes them. He said, ‘Would you like to be in The Expendables? I’d love to have you’, and I said, ‘Why not?’ So we’ll see,” he said.

If the Irish actor inks the deal, he’ll be the first James Bond actor to be added to the Expendables series. He went on to share a few details about his discussion with Lerner.

“I said to Avi Lerner, ‘If it works out and you have a good script, Avi, you know where to find me if you still want me.’ It’s as simple as that really. I had a grand time in his company,” Brosnan said.

The Bag of Bones star also shared his perspective of the film’s star-studded cast, praising Hollywood veteran and Expendables director, Sylvester Stallone. He also supported the casting of Kelsey Grammar for Expendables 3.

“Sylvester Stallone is the one that’s given us these wonderful platforms for actors who  have and had careers to go play and have fun and to entertain. To bring a bunch of guys together who saved the world, fought the bad guys, and put them all on  the same stage, that’s crazy good,” Brosnan said. “He’s a fantastic actor, Kelsey Grammer. You don’t have that kind of career without having a talent, without having something to say and to give to an audience.”

Expendables 3 is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide, August 14. No further details have been released about the fourth installment of the film series as of yet.

  • Pierce Brosnan Expected to Join Next ‘Expendables’ Film

Pierce Brosnan, the actor most famous for portraying James Bond in a string of 007 movies, just might be featured in the next Expendables film. With Expendables 3 still not even released, Brosnan says he’s already been approached to appear in future films in the action franchise.

“I said to producer Avi Lerner, ‘If it works out and you have a good script, you know where to find me if you still want me.’ It’s as simple as that really,” Brosnan confirms with ComingSoon.net.

The biggest draw? Starring opposite Slyvester Stallone. “I have a grand time in his company. Slyvester Stallone is the one that’s given us these wonderful platforms for actors to go play and have fun and to entertain. To bring a bunch of guys together who saved the world, fought the bad guys, and put them all on the same stage, that’s crazy good. It’s just a kick in the pants.”

If the deal gets sealed (which all signs point to yes), Pierce will be the first former Bond to sign on for the series, but he’ll have good company amongst action stars Jason Statham, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jet Li.

In the meantime, there’s Pierce’s new film, Long Way Down, out on limited release July 11th. The film, an adaptation of the Nock Hornby novel of the same name, also stars Toni Collette and Aaron Paul. “Nick Hornby always gets it right as a writer,” Brosnan says about why he chose this project. “He has the vernacular and passion. He is adroit and dry, and balances humor with the humanity of life. I was confident we would tonally hit a high mark,” Brosnan gushes.

Pierce also admits he hasn’t read the reviews of the film, which have not been kind. “I don’t read [reviews]: good, bad, or indifferent,” he says. Good thing for Pierce if he’s expected to join the Expendables cast, which is often reviewed as stale and underwhelming, despite the huge movie star names. Perhaps Pierce can breathe some life into the franchise?

  • Expendables 3 Trailer Is Revealed-See It Now [Video]

The trailer for the new Expendables 3 film is here, and it is packed with action. While it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, the franchise started with The Expendables in 2010, and came out with the sequel in 2012.

The films feature a cast of action stars that many people would probably argue are way past their prime as they have been in many films leading up the franchise.

As a result, some people have refused to see the films. In any case, the films boast a cast of some of the best actors from action films of all time.

Despite the fact that certain fans have chosen not to see the films, they have been highly successful at the box office, and the first film was able to bring in $270 million worldwide, while the sequel made $300 million.

The Expendables 3 brings in stars such as Harrison Ford, Wesley Snipes, Antonio Banderas, and Mel Gibson, joining a cast that is already jam packed with actors such as Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jet Li, among others.

Bruce Willis was originally a part of the cast, but has since been cut from the franchise.

Fans are now able to get a look at at what the latest from the franchise will bring with the new trailer, and a host of well-known actors that action fans have come to love over the years. It is hard to find a film with such a large cast, although it is hard to know if the big cast and big names are able to make the next installment in the series a success.

The plot is said to find Barney (Stallone), Christmas (Statham) and the rest of the team cominh face-to-face with Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson), who years ago co-founded The Expendables with Barney. Stonebanks, who eluded death once before, is making it his mission to end The Expendables, although Barney has other plans. It will be a clash between old school fighting and new high-tech weapons.

The film is directed by Patrick Hughes, and production began earlier this year in August. The Expendables 3 is set to be released on August 15, 2014.
