  • Kathy Griffin To Replace The Late Joan Rivers On ‘Fashion Police’

Kathy Griffin was officially announced as the replacement for the late Joan Rivers on E!‘s red carpet series Fashion Police.

The series set the standard in “diss and dismiss” when it comes to celebrity award show fashion.

A big part of the show’s success was peerless insult machine Joan Rivers.

However, when Rivers passed away, it seemed there would be no one either willing or capable of filling in for the bold comedienne.

Kathy Griffin seems like the most promising of suggested choices.

For one thing, Griffin seems to fall into a brand of humor not too dissimilar to Joan.

Kathy is known for her brand of harsh, biting, unapologetic humor. Perhaps aside from Rivers herself, Griffin is most known for being able to “go there”.

As such, Kathy Griffin was likely always at the top of the list to replace Rivers.

But it’s not a challenge to be taken lightly, and Griffin revealed during the announcement that she understood she had “big shoes to fill”.

“Joan was truly one of a kind. Now I hope you will accept me for me,” said Griffin. “I’m just Kathy. Did I say, ‘I’m just Kathy’? I meant, ‘I’m Kathy F***ing Griffin and you celebrities better strap yourself in, as I am taking no prisoners’.”

It won’t be until January, when the Fashion Police covers the Golden Globes that we learn whether or not Kathy Griffin can deliver on her promise.

    Or was that a warning?

In any case, Kathy Griffin will not be going it alone. Also returning for the new season of Fashion Police are Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic.

Griffin also won’t be the only newcomer to the series: The show is expected to welcome fashion stylist Brad Goreski of the former Bravo reality series It’s A Brad, Brad World.

  • Elsa Pataky Paints Life Saver on Belly Bump

Gotta love Elsa Pataky’s sense of humor.

Chris Hemsworth’s wife — who is expecting twins — is embracing her pregnant figure and could care less about recent criticism by Joan Rivers, E!’s Fashion Police, and fashion analyst George Kotsiopoulos.

The 37-year-old Spanish beauty was photographed at a Baywatch-inspired photo shoot Tuesday, March 4, wearing a red sports bra and tiny red shorts with a life-saving ring painted on her very pregnant belly.

Following the Oscar broadcast on Sunday, March 2, Joan Rivers and E!‘s Fashion Police went too far by not only criticizing Chris Hemsworth’s pregnant wife Elsa Pataky’s Oscars dress but also bashing the size of her belly.

“I know why she’s huge,” Rivers said on Fashion Police Monday, March 3. “I saw her sonogram.”

George Kotsiopoulos chimed in with his opinion of Pataky’s Ocar look.

“The last thing I wanna do is rip on a pregnant woman,” Kotsiopoulos said. “But it’s a horrible dress on her. It doesn’t look like a baby bump, it looks like a beer belly.”

Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic just had to join the bashing.

“It’s just not the appropriate dress to wear if you are pregnant. You have to go with an empire style, or just dress like Olivia Wilde,” Osbourne said Osbourne ”

Rancic managed to be a bit more generous in her put-down.

“Beautiful baby bump, but beautiful in a different dress,” Rancic added. “I have to say, pregnant or not, I just don’t like this dress.”

Hemsworth and Pataky began dating in early 2010, married that December, and are parents to 1-year-old India Rose.

“I think [parenthood] brings out the child in all of us,” Hemsworth recently told Parade magazine. “That’s what’s so beautiful. It reminds you of the fascination you had with things and how you can spend hours just being with someone. It’s amazing.”

Don’t you just love Pataky’s sense of humor?
