UPDATE: The NFL and NBC have both spoken out about the incident.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: You remember how we said the Madonna performance was flawless? Well, it’s not so flawless anymore.

It has been revealed that M.I.A. flipped off the camera when she came out on stage to support Madonna for “Give Me All Your Luvin’.”

  • Madonna’s Super Bowl Performance Near Flawless

There was a lot of speculation regarding Madonna’s Super Bowl performance on whether it was going to be good, bad or just okay. She proved to everybody that she still has it.

Madonna’s Super Bowl performance was the best in years according to some people. Your humble reporter here was hugely impressed as well to find that Madonna still has it. The message of World Peace at the end was kind of cheesy, but it worked well within her show.

All the speculation of guests and songs were mostly spot on. The appearance from LMFAO was especially enjoyable.

Twitter, like always, has something to say. Let’s look at what people have to say about #MadonnaSuperBowl.

Kelly Clarkson Doesn’t Blow National Anthem At Super Bowl

Were you betting that Kelly Clarkson would pull a Steven Tyler and make a mockery of the most sacred of songs? Well, she didn’t.

The pop singer performed the National Anthem just mere minutes ago and the crowd was ecstatic. She pulled it off very nicely.

The added touch of the children singing it alongside her really made the moment. It really captured the American spirit on display at the Super Bowl.

  • Madonna’s Super Bowl Performance Details Emerge

Madonna’s Super Bowl Performance Details Emerge

As you all are aware, Madonna will be performing at this year’s Super Bowl. While some people are less than thrilled with the idea and some even threatening legal action, the pop star is sure to cause quite a stir.

MTV has all the juicy details on the performance and what is most likely to happen during her show.

Madonna is not the only one who is going to be on the stage during the halftime show. It’s been confirmed that M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj will be joining her during the performance. While that is already an impressive show, there are rumors circulating that Cee Lo Green and LMFAO will also be part of the act. Cirque du Soleil will be backing the whole show up alongside Madonna’s choreographer Jamie King.

People are already going off of the aesthetics of her recent “Give Me All Your Luvin’” music video as what the show may look like. When asked about the show at a premier, she said that “pom poms” would play heavily into the act. She also told ABC News that she wanted a drum line to drop down from the ceiling for the act.

The biggest mystery right now are which songs the pop star is going to choose for the event. A good set list is going to make the halftime show memorable. She has confirmed that she will be singing three old songs and one new one. MTV predicts that she’ll be singing “Give Me” which is off of her new album alongside classics like “Vogue,” “Music” and “Ray of Light.”

The stage is reported to be full of LED lights in various shades of blue, green, pink, purple and red with the word “Vogue” at least confirming one song.

Regardless, whatever happens is sure to bring a lot of reactions – good and bad. We’ll be here watching it with you to let you know what the world thinks of Madonna.

  • Jimmy Kimmel Wants You To Unplug The TV During The Super Bowl

Jimmy Kimmel is becoming something of a master troll these days. Every now and then, he asks viewers to do something to piss off loved ones, capture it on film, and post it to YouTube. He then selects the best clips and shows them on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

In October 2011, he asked parents to trick their children into believing that they had eaten all of their Halloween candy. The responses from the children were hilarious, and ranged from anger to utter despair. During Christmas, he asked parents to give their kids a crappy present – and the results were similar.

Now he wants you to mess with one of the most scared institutions in America – the Super Bowl.

Kimmel is asking that you wait for a big moment in the game on Sunday, maybe a crucial 3rd and 1 or a game-winning field goal attempt – and just before it happens, unplug the TV. Of course he wants you to film everyone’s reaction and upload it to YouTube with the title “Hey Jimmy Kimmel, I Unplugged The TV During The Game.”

He will pick the best reactions and present them on his show next week.

Be prepared: this prank is sure to bring about harsh reactions. Vases may be broken, noses could get punched. You might even get a hot wing to the face. But the reactions are sure to be pretty awesome.

Earlier, I mentioned Kimmel’s Halloween and Christmas pranks. Check them out below and please note that your friends might have the same reactions as these children when you black out the game on Sunday.

  • Madonna’s Super Bowl Show Under Threat Of Lawsuit From Girls Gone Wild’s Joe Francis

Here’s a little Super Bowl, aging pop star, naked girl on camera drama for your Friday afternoon. Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis is threatening the Queen of Pop with a lawsuit if she goes through with her Super Bowl plans.

TMZ obtained the cease and desist letter sent by Francis’ attorney threatening legal action if Madonna sings her new song “Girls Gone Wild” at the Super Bowl halftime show. It should be pretty clear what he’s basing this threat of legal action on, but here’s what’s detailed in the letter:

Mr. Francis and Girls Gone Wild have worked tirelessly for an excess of two decades to build his brand and to protect his trademark Girls Gone Wild.

Obviously, your misappropriation of my clients’ trademark will not to be tolerated.

Girls Gone Wild’s trade identity and trademark are extremely valuable assets which my clients protect vigorously.

My research indicates, and numerous news articles have mentioned, that Madonna plans to perform publicly the song entitled Girls Gone Wild at this Sunday’s Super Bowl on February 5, 2012. It is clear Madonna is making unauthorized commercial use of Girls Gone Wild’s trademark.

Your attempt to “free ride” on the valuable consumer goodwill and brand recognition of my clients’ trademark constitutes, inter alia, unfair competition, and false designation of origin, trademark infringement, and trademark dilution.

The letter goes on to demand Madonna and her “co-conspriators” perform a few actions if they wish to avoid “costly and extensive litigation.” First, they must agree not to perform the song at the Super Bowl. Next, he wants Madonna to negotiate an immediate licensing agreement. Lastly, he wants her to go back and count all the times she’s already used the phrase to promote her song and pay up.

Madonna released her new video for “Give Me All Your Luvin” earlier today on YouTube. Any ZZ Top fans will recognize that she’s skirting close to the line on that one too.

  • David Beckham Gets Naked For Super Bowl Sunday

Have you ever wanted to see pro-footballer David Beckham sporting high-end underwear? You’ll have your chance this Sunday during the Super Bowl.

Beckham signed on with H&M to provide his ruggish good looks to a new line of underwear sporting his name. The briefs will only cost £7.99 or $12.95. That’s an expensive pair of underwear!

They better be as the Guardian is reporting that H&M spent $3.5 million for the ad spot on Sunday. I don’t know how successful they will be selling a Football star to those watching American Football, but at least we’ll get some eye candy out of it. The ad will air in the second quarter.

If you can’t wait till Sunday to see a near-naked Beckham, you can watch the ad now.

  • Madonna Halftime Show Preceded By YouTube “Give Me All Your Luvin’” Video Release

Ahead of her Super Bowl halftime show appearance, Madonna has premiered her new music video on YouTube, which has obviously replaced MTV as the place where music fans turn to watch videos.

The video is for the song Give Me All Your Luvin’ (Feat. M.I.A. and Nicki Minaj).

Not be confused with ZZ Top’s Gimme All Your Lovin’:

Rumor has it that the halftime show appearance will include appearances from Nicki Minaj, M.I.A., Cee Lo and LMFAO.

Madonna, being the former queen of MTV music videos is embracing YouTube and Google all the way. She is also on Google+, where she will be providing news and behind-the-scenes photos leading up to the Super Bowl, according to Google.

  • Taiwanese Ad Shows Faux Steve Jobs: Offensive or Funny?

Action Electronics, a Taiwanese computer firm has recently released a line of their own tablets and to advertise them, they hired American born Chinese comedian Ah-Ken.

The company apparently feels that poking at the late American technology giant will help boost sales of their product, but has it also created negative controversy? The ad is intended to be humorous and is a hit in Taiwan, but after being revealed on YouTube in America, critics are a little offended.

What do you think about the commercial? Harmless or hurtful? Do you think Action Electronics is being intentionally rude or do you feel it’s a homage to the tech juggernaut? Let us know what you think by commenting.

  • Melanie Amaro Earns “Respect” For Elton John/Pepsi Commercial For Super Bowl

Since winning X-factor, singer Melanie Amaro has really entered onto the scene, while the show itself isn’t doing so well. Amaro is jovial after recently shooting a Pepsi Super Bowl ad with the music giant and piano man Elton John.

The commercial itself is set in a royal court in what looks to be during the renaissance times. The almighty king is played by Sir Elton John himself and the kindly king seems to be holding a talent contest of some sort. The king files through failure after failure only to find the woman played my Amaro who only wants to present herself before the king for “treasure” (Pepsi) after that she proceeds to sing a dance remix of Aretha Franklin’s smash hit “Respect”

    http://youtu.be/dRs-pLNW6cY

Reportedly, Elton John had this to say about Amaro:

“She oozes personality, you can see it by talking to her. She’s very voluptuous. She’s cheeky and fun.”

  • 1.25 Billion Super Bowl Wings Expected To Be Consumed During The Game

The Super Bowl is expeditiously approaching and with the date comes, of course, great football, but also great food. The foods of the big game have long been a staple of the day and this year is absolutely no different. Over time, convenience has become a must for the American populace from mobile web to fast food, the quicker we can satisfy our appetites, whether physical or technologically speaking, the better.

Chicken wings, whether hot, barbecued, plain, sweet and sour or any other way, are one of, if not the most convenient fast foods available. Now with Super Bowl Sunday encroaching upon us, it’s apparent that wings are at the forefront of the food category. It has been estimated, no matter how they’re prepared, there will be approximately 1.25 billion wings served at parties, bars and other social gatherings alike on the day of the game.

One wing enthusiast was quoted saying:

“They are easy to bring to parties and easy finger food to eat.”

Reportedly, Buffalo wings were created in the year 1964 at a bar in Buffalo, NY. Apparently the delicious wings attracted such celebrities as John Candy to Hilary Clinton. Traditionally, wings are served with bleu cheese and celery or ranch dressing and celery. In Buffalo, NY, Mayor Stan Makowski titled July 29th Official Chicken Wing Day back in 1977. Travel back to 1984 where Marino Games introduced “The Buffalo Style Chicken Wing Game”. in the game player could use cards to complete orders of wings and answer chicken associated trivia questions.

    http://youtu.be/LJn_hLbatxs

If you can do the math, 1.25 billion wings comes out to somewhere around 100 million pounds of chicken flappers: that’s certainly an impressive number. Traditional wings are found to be most popular among people, but boneless wings are steadily gaining popularity. Restaurants across the nation are preparing for a booming take-out business day well within the week and franchises aren’t going to slack on service either according to one manager of Buffalo Wild Wings. Even with the one day event of the Super Bowl, the wing popularity doesn’t intend to stop with March madness just around the corner, wings are ready to fly into the mouths of basketball fans too.

With the day so close, what type of convenient food do you prefer? Pizza? wings? Chips with dip? Let us know your favorite game day foods in the comments section.

  • X-factor Host Steve Jones Dismissed As Host

According to a recent story the now one time host of Fox’s X-factor has been let go. rumors have been circulating for a while that he may not continue his post. representatives earlier dismissed it as a fabrication, but now it has been confirmed. he recently took to twitter to announce his departure.

Show creator Simon Cowell has this to say:

“I don’t think he did a bad job, but there is a Brit limit on the show.”

As of yet there is no news on who may replace Jones, but Cowell commented saying there would be changes coming to X-factor U.S.A.

Also, reportedly popular singer Nicole Sherzinger will not return to the show either, she says she wants to work more on her own personal music career and doing X-factor nearly everyday has halted her from doing so. Surprising enough Paula Abdul will not come back either. She did not leave on her own, rather she was asked to leave; I guess that’s a nicer way to say Donald Trump’s famous line “you’re fired”.

  • Football Fans Prefer To Watch The Super Bowl On TV Instead Of Live

It’s been said that experiencing the real thing is much better than something fabricated, but in the case of this years Super Bowl, it seems the real thing is just not going to cut it. TechBargains.com released a survey recently in which they probed customers for information regarding the matter in which they would be viewing the game; the results were a bit surprising.

The survey revealed that 8% of customers want to buy a new television before the Super Bowl. Surprisingly, of those who bought a new TV last year for the game, over half of them plan on buying an even newer television for this year.

It seems a bigger and better picture quality trumps the actual live game; why chance sitting in the nose bleed section when you can almost be on the field with a high-def TV set? 25% of those surveyed said the size of their TV depended on how pleasurable their viewing experiences would be. According to consumers, high resolution is the most important factor when purchasing a new TV; sound quality even came in second to picture quality. According to Jeff Haynes:

“Bigger is better. The reason people are spending more is they are upgrading the size of their television. Consumers have moved from wanting televisions around 42 inches to now buying 46 inches to 55 inches, the TV has become the center piece of the American family room and the difference in just a few more inches is noticeable.”

As online shopping gains momentum, in-store television buying is on the decline. The survey say 67% of people planning to buy a tv before the big game, plan on purchasing theirs online rather than the old fashioned store.

Winter is coming. Not only that, but so are quite a few nerdgasms as HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones is almost back for its second season.

HBO has just released the newest teaser trailer for the season, and it shouldn’t be a shock to anyone that it looks awesome. All of your favorite characters like Tyrion Lannister & Daenerys Targaryen play a part in the trailer, as do some of the show’s most hated like the wretched Joffrey. Check it out below:

The season two premiere is set to take place on April 1st, unless it’s some sort of cruel April Fools Joke.

Twitter is buzzing about the little tease:

I really don’t want to do anything today except watch the #GameofThrones trailer over and over again. 31 minutes ago via web · powered by @socialditto

If you haven’t seen season one, you’ve got just over two months to catch up. I would recommend it.
