  • Farrah Abraham Congratulates Fellow ‘Teen Mom’ Maci Bookout On Her Engagement

Feuding Teen Mom stars Farrah Abraham and Maci Bookout are setting aside their differences, as Abraham congratulated Bookout on her engagement.

Abraham, 24, told Us that she attended Bookout’s post-engagement celebration over the weekend.

“After her new fiancé proposed, they came to the studios to finish our reunion taping,” Abraham revealed. “I stopped by their green room to congratulate them. We all hugged and embraced and congratulated Maci!”

Bookout announced her engagement to her boyfriend of three years, Taylor McKinney, on Instagram on Tuesday, January 9, along with a photo of them kissing at the beach. “Well y’all, my best friend asked me to marry him! I’m one lucky lady, I love you T!” Bookout captioned the snapshot.

Farrah Abraham, who previously had a rocky relationship with Bookout, expressed how happy she is that her fellow Teen Mom will be walking down the aisle soon. “It was very fitting and great to catch their memories for everyone to see. I look forward to supporting their engagement and look forward to their wedding,” she said.

Abraham also revealed to Us that McKinney had tricked his girlfriend into thinking she was doing an MTV interview before proposing.

Fellow Teen Mom Amber Portwood is also engaged to her beau Matt Baier, and they are set to exchange their vows in October 2016. Catelyn Lowell and her husband Tyler Baltierra tied the knot in August 2015.

This leaves Farrah Abraham as the only single lady in the gang, but the reality star is still hopeful.

“I’m sure they will both bounce ideas off each other as they plan,” said Farrah Abraham. “I’m excited to see their plans come together on their wedding days! Hopefully this engagement luck rubs off on me as I’m the only single lady left.”

  • Peta Murgatroyd And Maksim Chmerkovskiy Get Engaged On ‘DWTS’ Stage

Dancing With the Stars sweethearts Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Peta Murgatroyd will probably have to start rehearsing their wedding dance soon.

Chmerkovskiy proposed on the DWTS dance floor on Saturday, right after a performance of Sway at the Olympia Theater in Miami. Murgatroyd, 29, was surprised when Chmerkovskiy, 35, got on his knees and popped the question in front of the audience and other dancers.

“I’m in love with you, and I will be in love with you for the rest of my life,” Chmerkovskiy told his soon-to-be-wife. Then he presented Peta Murgatroyd with a lovely custom-made Cantamessa engagement ring, which he designed especially for his fiancée.

“Maks’ romantic proposal is something I will cherish for the rest of my life,” Peta Murgatroyd said of Chmerkovskiy’s proposal. In a brief interview with People she said that she is excited for the next chapter of their lives together and that she can’t wait to plan for her dream wedding with him.

A source told People that the pro dancers have weathered many obstacles in their relationship. They have been on and off since 2012, but Maks Chmerkovskiy never stopped wanting to be around Peta Murgatroyd.

Friends and family members of the Dancing with the Stars pros took to Instagram to congratulate the happy couple.

Dancing with the Stars Sharna Burgess shared her excitement on the photo-sharing site. “So this just happened!!!! Ahhhhh I’m so excited for my loves!! @maksimc and @petamurgatroyd it’s about bloody time!!!! Congratulations you two!!!”

  • Instagram Destroys Twitter in Brand Engagement, Says Report

Brands looking to cultivate a robust social media following should be putting a lot of their time into Instagram, according to recent data.

Socialbakers says that brand engagement on Instagram is blowing Twitter out of the water. In fact, the average engagement per post for the top 25 most-engaged brands in 50 times greater on Instagram than it is on Twitter.

“Instagram gives brands an outlet for creative storytelling and engagement with tight communities of people who share a passion for the the brands’ values,” says Socialbakers.

In other words, if you’re likely to follow a company on Instagram, it’s more likely that you “share its values” and will therefore be more apt to participate with the company.

This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen data to prove that engagement on Instagram soars above the rest. Earlier this year, a Forrester study showed that brands saw 58 times more engagement on Instagram than they did on Facebook and a whopping 120 times more than on Twitter.

Instagram recently topped 300 million monthly active users, which puts it barely ahead of Twitter. Though some might not really care about this metric, it’s a pretty big deal to advertisers. More eyes plus more engagement per eye? That’s a big check mark in the Instagram column.

  • David Arquette Claims He’s “Done” with Fiancee Christina McLarty

If there is one thing to be learned from celebrity couples, it’s to keep arguments behind closed doors.

On Friday night Scream actor David Arquette got into a heated argument with his fiancee, Entertainment Tonight reporter Christina McLarty, outside an upscale Los Angeles restaurant. The two had just finished a romantic dinner together when apparently something went wrong.

Caught on video obtained by MailOnline, disheveled-looking Arquette can be heard saying, “That’s it, I can’t take it any more. I’m done, I’m sorry. Just like the last guy. I’m just like him.”

33-year-old McLarty, wearing high heels and an elegant black and white dress, tried to follow him down Santa Monica Boulevard crying, “Stop David…Come here, please!”

Upon exiting the restaurant, Arquette joked around with cameramen and even posed with a tanned brunette. McLarty was nowhere in sight. Moments later she excited the facility and the argument began.

The couple have been together since 2011 and got engaged in July of this year. They have a son together named Charlie.

Arquette was previously married to Friends actress Courteney Cox but the couple split in 2010 after 11 years of marriage and one daughter together.

Arquette told Howard Stern in 2011, “She said to me, ‘I don’t want to be your mother anymore.’ And I appreciated that about her … She didn’t want to tell me, ‘Don’t do that.’ She didn’t want to nag me anymore.’

McLarty had dated film producer Joe Francis but, after exchanging vows with him in a commitment ceremony in 2010, they broke it off when she moved to New York to further her career.

Although representatives for Arquette claim that he and McLarty are “fine,” the 43-year-old actor was seen flying solo on Saturday night. He entertained himself by paying a visit to the Seventh Veil strip club and urinating in the bushes outside of a 7-11 convenience store.

Brittany Kerr Is Engaged To Jason Aldean

Former American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr is engaged to country music superstar Jason Aldean!

Aldean’s rep confirmed the engagement and Kerr took to her personal Instagram account to share the exciting news.

The photo shows the couple sharing a passionate kiss with Kerr’s diamond shining brightly into the camera.

“We’ve been on cloud nine the past few days!!” Kerr captioned the photo. “My heart has never been more full of happiness and love… Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with this man.”

“So many blessings and memories are in our future and SO thankful I get to share them with him,” she added. “Thanks for all the support and kind words y’all have given us #love #foreverandever #itdidnthappenatthezoo #happyhappyhappy.”

So far, details of the proposal have not been revealed.

Aldean was first linked to Kerr in 2012 when he was spotted kissing her while he was still married to his wife Jessica Ussery, whom he has two young daughters with.

Aldean has repeatedly defended himself and his relationship with Kerr since he and Ussery divorced in 2013. “It has been two years of this [expletive] — get over it, already!” he told Billboard magazine. “I’m not blaming anybody. Obviously, a lot of that stuff is my own deal. But I could go post something on my page right now that says, ‘Hey, we just donated $5 million to a children’s cancer research center,’ and somebody would get on there and go, ‘You’re an [expletive] cheater.’”

“So sick of people judging me and @brittanylkerr over things they know nothing about,” he wrote on Instagram. “I have made mistakes but I am a better person because of it, and wouldnt change a thing. I’m happier than i have ever been, so thank u to all the people who support us. We are happy and life goes on. Its time to move on people. #aldeanarmy #oldnews #timetomoveon”

  • Martina Navratilova Proposes At US Open

Tennis legend Martina Navratilova proposed to her longtime girlfriend Julia Lemigova at the US Open at the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City on Saturday, September 6.

Navratilova, 57, could be seen wearing a white ensemble as she got down on one knee to pop the question. Lemigova wore a black pencil skirt and a black and white V-neck top.

“I have been waiting for the right time to ask Julia to marry me. I thought this was the right place and the right time to pop the question and thankfully I got a ‘yes’,” Navratilova said. The big screen then caught the couple as they kissed.

Navratilova admitted that she was incredibly nervous to ask Lemigova, especially in front of so many people. “I was very nervous,” Navratilova said.

“It came off. She said yes. It was kind of an out-of-body experience,” she continued. “You’ve seen people propose at sporting events before, in movies, in real life. Here it was happening to me. It was like I was watching myself do it.”

  • Twitter Analytics Reveal Low Reach, Suspect Engagement

“On Twitter, nothing comes between your Tweets and your followers.”

That’s what Twitter said in July when it introduced organic tweet analytics. This week, Twitter opened the analytics dashboard to all users after previously only letting advertisers and verified users access it. Now everyone gets to see each of their tweets’ impressions, engagements, and engagement rate. The question is how useful is this information really?

Can you engage in effective marketing on Twitter without paying? Let us know what you think in the comments.

Twitter rival Facebook has been making it increasingly difficult for marketers to reach their audiences without paying. You’ve no doubt heard about the organic reach decline story by now.

When Twitter introduced organic tweet analytics, it seemed to suggest that you don’t have to worry about that type of thing on Twitter (see the introductory quote above). While that maybe technically true (at least for now – some fear Twitter will folllow Facebook’s algorithmic News Feed approach eventually), Twitter tends to be an entirely different experience for users in terms of volume of accounts users’ follow. Most people who use both Facebook and Twitter likely follow significantly more Twitter accounts. Some of these Twitter accounts push out a tremendous amount of content. Timelines are bombarded. So while you may have access to everything from all accounts you follow, it’s going to take you a long time to dig through it all if you follow very many accounts, and chances are, you’re going to miss a lot of tweets.

Twitter’s new analytics show you just what kind of reach you’re achieving. You can clearly see how many impressions one of your tweets got. This is, of course, the number of times that a tweet was seen. You can also see engagements and engagement rate.

Here’s where Twitter’s analytics could make things seem a little better than they actually are.

When you hover over the word engagements, it explains just exactly what that means: “Total number of times a user has interacted with a tweet. This includes all clicks anywhere on the tweet (including hashtags, links, avatar, username, and Tweet expansion), retweets, replies, follows, and favorites.” Actually, it also includes clicks on embedded media, as pointed out in a help center article.

That’s a lot more broad than you might otherwise think. Jim Edwards at Business Insider, writing about the launch, describes engagement of one of his tweets as being comprised of retweets and favorites. It’s entirely possible that this is the case in this instance (he doesn’t show the screenshot for the drill-down of the specific tweet), but that number is often going to be comprised of additional “engagements” including less meaningful ones like hashtag clicks or avatar clicks.

If you’re a business trying to get a real action out of a user, that engagement number may not be incredibly meaningful.

Think about it like this. If you ran an ad in a publication’s email newsletter, a metric that takes into account irrelevant clicks within that newsletter, such as those on the support link or on a link in an article, wouldn’t be all that helpful.

Of course Twitter’s new release is all about giving non-paying users access to some insights that paying customers are getting, and certainly a play to transition some of those freeloaders into paying customers. There is, after all, a link to Twitter’s Advertising site as well as links to set up billing and whatnot from the dashboard page. They want you to look at your numbers, and then try to boost them with advertising. It makes a great deal of sense for Twitter.

While the engagement metric may not be the most helpful thing in the world, Twitter does at least provide some pretty good options for those that decide to take the plunge into the paid side of things. Tweet engagement campaigns are an option, but you can also do followers, clicks/conversions, app installs/engagements, leads, etc.

You can’t really complain about free data. It’s just something that people relying on an organic presence should be aware of. “Engagement” may not be as great as it seems.

For that matter, engagement rates are higher when you have less followers, because this is calculated by dividing engagements by impressions. You may have a high engagement rate on a tweet, but how much is that really helping you if you if a small number of people are seeing it to begin with?

And that’s just it. Even if you have a large number of followers, it’s likely that a small number of them are actually seeing the tweets. Many seem to consider this the chief revelation from Twitter’s new dashboard.

According to Twitter itself, brands that tweet two to three times a day can reach roughly 30% of their follower base during a given week. “This indicates that Tweet consistency is a key factor when it comes to maximizing your organic reach on Twitter,” it said.

So, you should probably tweet more frequently if anything.

Other than that, the main takeaway here is that impressions are your first hurdle on Twitter, but even after that, engagement is is not necessarily as great as you may have thought. Unsurprisingly, and like most other platforms, you’re probably going to have to pay to play to get any real bang out of Twitter for marketing.

Twitter does provide some “best practices,” which include keeping tweets conversational, employing your knowledge and voice, making content shareable, tweeting exceptional content, asking questions and listening, tweeting things that are timely, and experimenting with different wording and content. They elaborate on all of these here.

  • Is Your Organic Social Reach As Bad As You Think?

Getting organic posts in front of users on social media has become increasingly difficult for brands – particularly on Facebook, which has been quite open about its reduction of organic reach (even if some find its stated reasons a little questionable).

What actions have you taken in your social strategy in response to organic reach decline? Share in the comments.

There’s no question that it’s harder to reach Facebook fans without paying these days. The social network even does the courtesy of informing Page admins how few people actually saw their posts (usually it’s significantly less than the Page’s fan count).

Facebook is certainly the one that matters most as it has the largest user base (by far), but others like Twitter and Google+ also offer brands great potential for reaching people.

A new study looks at content across these social networks, and finds that brands are generally still able to reach a significant amount of people without paying, but also that the overwhelming majority of posts don’t get any engagement.

SocialFlow analyzed 1.6 million posts on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+, and concluded that how you distribute your social posts is more important to improving engagement than what you’re actually posting. The industry you’re in, it says, is a “crucial factor” in picking the right method.

The study says that even as competition for user attention increases, companies continue to attain significant reach and generate substantial engagement with organic, non-paid social posts.

One of the study’s key findings was that while organic social posting can still deliver substantial reach and engagement, there’s a “steep drop” from the best-performing posts to the long tail.

Another key finding is that data-driven posts saw far more reach and engagement than scheduled posts.

According to SocialFlow, companies that take a data-driven approach to social publishing improve effectiveness by publishing more content with little corresponding increase in overall effort and better matching posts to the types of content their audiences are already engaging with because there are more posts.

The third key finding was that real-time posts provide “substantial benefit” to media and entertainment companies, but don’t benefit marketers in technology, retail, fashion, healthcare, and non-profit verticals.

“Across the industry verticals we analyzed, Media and Entertainment companies were by far the most prolific content producers,” the study says. “And while only 10% of their Real-Time posts outperformed Data-Driven posts, the cumulative benefit for those 10% generated almost 90% of the total engagement.”

“Across the industry verticals we analyzed, Media and Entertainment companies were by far the most prolific content producers,” it adds. “And while only 10% of their Real-Time posts outperformed Data-Driven posts, the cumulative benefit for those 10% generated almost 90% of the total engagement.”

After all is said and done, the study comes away with three major implications of its findings: scheduling of social posts is ineffective; real-time posting is less effective than data-driven optimization unless you’re a media or entertainment brand; and organic publishing should be as data-driven as other marketing efforts.

Take advantage of the tools the social networks give you. Pay attention to the data you get for free (like Facebook Insights). Keep an eye on trends. Look at what works and what doesn’t. If you need to boost a post every now and then, do it, but even with the fall of organic reach, there are likely moves you can make to help your overall engagement without paying.

  • Lisa Marie Presley’s Daughter is Engaged

Lisa Marie Presley’s Daughter is Engaged

The legacy of U.S. rock royalty Elvis Presley is continuing to live on, as one of his granddaughters this week became engaged.

It was revealed on Thursday, August 14 that actress Riley Keough, born Danielle Riley Keough, is now engaged to Ben Smith-Petersen. The announcement was made via Smith-Petersen’s Facebook page, though the post (which included a photo) now appears to be gone. According to an Us Magazine report, the post included the text “So that happened” with a photo of the couple and Keough’s engagement ring prominently displayed.

Smith-Petersen is an actor and stuntman who has worked on projects such as The Great Gatsby, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.

Keough is the oldest daughter of Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis Presley’s only daughter. Keough was born in March 1989 to her mother’s then-husband Danny Keough. In addition to Riley, Presley and Keough had one other child, Bengamin Keough, born in October 1992. Presley and Keough later ended their five-year marriage in May 1994.

Presley would go on to marry Michael Jackson less than a month after her divorce from Keough. That marriage would last less than two years. Presley also married actor Nicolas Cage in 2002 and stayed married to him for less than two years. Presley is currently married to music producer Michael Lockwood.

Following in her family’s famous footsteps, Riley Keough has recently begun acting and modeling. She starred in the 2010 movie The Runaways and also had a part in 2012’s Magic Mike. Keough has modeled for Australian lingere brand Bonds and appeared in the music video for Justin Timberlake’s “TKO.”

Keough is currently set to star in next year’s Mad Max: Fury Road. She is reported to have met Smith-Petersen on the set of Fury Road. Smith-Petersen is credited as a stunt performer for the movie.

Like her mother, Keough seems to be prone to numerous short, intense relationships. Keough was briefly engaged to actor Alex Pettyfer in 2012 and, according to Us, has been previously linked to both Ryan Cabrera and Robert Pattinson.

  • Caroline Wozniacki Break-Up Key to McIlroy’s Success

On Sunday, Rory McIlroy sealed a fantastic stretch of golf over the past three months by winning the 2014 PGA Championship over a hard-charging Phil Mickelson. Unlike his previous win at the British Open, McIlroy faced great challenges during the last round of competition. Despite the obstacles, however, McIlroy was able to win his second, consecutive major event, putting him among golf’s greatest golfers already at age 25. So, what’s the key to his recent run of success, you ask? Apparently, it’s bachelorhood.

Rory McIlroy and tennis star Caroline Wozniacki announced their engagement on New Year’s Day this year via Twitter. The announcement came somewhat as a surprise considering recent rumors surrounding the couple’s impending doom. Fast-forward four months and that doom would be less impending and more real as McIlroy called Wozniacki to break-up moments before the first round at BMW PGA Championship – an event McIlroy would go on to win.

McIlroy’s success would not end there, as the golfer from Northern Ireland would go on to win the British Open and WGC-Bridgestone Invitational back-to-back, both in convincing fashion.

In speaking with The Daily Mail about the reason behind his increased performance (especially considering his one-win year in 2013), McIlroy opened up about the developments in his personal life:

I think what happened has been for the better in terms of my golf. I’ve put a bit more time into it and it has refocused me. I mean, what else do I have to do now? I go to the golf course, I go to the gym and it’s just my life at the minute… I worked pretty hard before but the past couple of months I’ve really just buried myself in my game. It obviously works pretty well, so I am going to keep doing it.

While many may question the cause-and-effect nature of McIlroy’s break-up with Wozniacki, the numbers don’t lie. McIlroy’s last three performances have been other-worldly, and who are we to tell McIlroy was the key to his success was or was not?

Unfortunately, the road has not been as nice for Wozniacki. She lost her first event after the break-up and has only won one tournament since, losing in the first round at the French Open, the fourth round at Wimbledon, and most recently in the quarterfinals to Serena Williams at the 2014 Rodgers Cup.

  • Liam Hemsworth: Missing Miley Cyrus?

Liam Hemsworth recently praised ex-fiancee Miley Cyrus publicly, fueling some speculation that the Hunger Games star is missing the ‘Wrecking Ball’ singer. Hemsworth was reportedly overheard dishing about Miley in a restaurant in Italy, where he’s been vacationing, saying that the two would “always be best friends” and they had “an instantaneous and powerful connection.”

“Liam kept raving about how amazing she was, how much they clicked and understood everything about each other. He also said they bought a lot of furniture but he had to leave it behind when they broke up and he got his new place, which was furnished,” a source shared.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth met when both starred in the Nicholas Sparks film The Last Song back in 2009. Hemsworth proposed to the iconic twerker three years later with a 3.5 carat Neil Lane engagement ring.

Liam and Miley were last spotted together for the L.A. premiere of his film Paranoia. It was shortly thereafter that he announced their split. Miley Cyrus told Elle magazine during a post-breakup interview that she once believed she couldn’t live without both Disney and Liam Hemsworth.

“When I went through a really intense breakup — you know, I was engaged — and when I was with him [Hemsworth] or when I was on Disney, the thing that gave me the most anxiety was not knowing what to do with myself when Disney wasn’t there to carry me anymore or if I didn’t have him,” she said.

“And now I’m free of both of those things, and I’m fine. Like, I lay in bed at night by myself and I’m totally okay, and that’s so much stronger than the person three years ago, who would have thought they would have died if they didn’t have a boyfriend,” the ‘Party in the U.S.A.’ singer added.

Do you believe Liam Hemsworth really said those things about Miley Cyrus while in an Italian restaurant? Do you suppose the ‘source’ may have embellished his comments just a bit? It stands to reason that Liam might be missing Miley–they spent a long time together, after all. However it seems quite unlikely that he wants her back. Her behavior and his upbringing by religious Aussie parents don’t really go hand in hand.

  • Fanny Neguesha Says Yes to Mario Balotelli

With the FIFA World Cup being played only once every four years, one can only imagine the pressure soccer’s greatest superstars are under to perform at their peak level for their respective nations. While Brazil is obviously under the most pressure to succeed this year (being the host country and whatnot), there are certain countries which are expected to win the cup every year. Italy, led by soccer stud Mario Balotelli, is one such country.

Balotelli, a 24-year-old striker for the Italian national team, perhaps felt more pressure than most coming into the World Cup due to his high potential and athletic prowess. Therefore, Balotelli most likely made the right move in proposing to his girlfriend, Fanny Neguesha, days before the kickoff of the 2014 World Cup.

Unlike most teams, Italy’s coach, Cesare Prandelli, has decided to open Italy’s training camp in Brazil to the girlfriends and wives of the players, allowing Balotelli and Neguesha much time together before Balotelli’s schedule becomes quite hectic.

One should not let the happy nature of the Tweets and Instagram posts fool oneself, however. Balotelli and Neguesha’s relationship has been rocky, to say the least.

In May of this year, Neguesha changed her relationship status on her Instagram account to single, making many think that she had finally decided to part ways with Balotelli. Shortly after Neguesha’s relationship status was made known, a bookie in Italy started taking bets as to who would be Balotelli’s next girlfriend.

Their split supposedly came after Balotelli and his brother were rumored to have had a foursome with an Italian Playboy model.

Obviously, the two have rectified their differences, however, and are eager to start their new lives together.

The couple does not have long to celebrate, though, and Balotelli’s teammates were the first to remind him of his priorities: “He must have gone through a lot of emotions last night. But now we all need to focus on the World Cup,” stated teammate Claudio Marchisio.

Balotelli’s Italian squad faces England Saturday. The other two teams in their group are Costa Rica and Uruguay.

  • Lauren Scruggs: Jason Kennedy Proposes, She Says Yes

Lauren Scruggs is officially engaged to Jason Kennedy. Just eight months after the E! News host admitted he was falling fast for the blogger and author of Still Lolo, he popped the question and she said yes.

“She’s amazing,” Kennedy said in an interview with PEOPLE magazine.

“It’s a blur but I can’t stop smiling,” Kennedy told E! “She told me I couldn’t surprise her, but I got her good. This is the best night of my life.”

Lauren Scruggs clearly expected Jason Kennedy to be elsewhere on Friday evening. According to Kennedy’s tweet, he definitely pulled off the ultimate surprise.

The proposal took place in Scruggs’s Texas hometown, in front of a small group of close friends and relatives. Walking out on a balcony, Scruggs saw a field where Kennedy had arranged candles that spelled out the message, “Will you marry me?”

Lauren Scruggs quickly met him downstairs and that’s when he presented her with a Jennifer Meyer diamond ring.

Both Scruggs and Kennedy are deeply religious people. She is the model who inadvertently walked in front of an airplane propellor back in 2011 and sustained life threatening injuries as a result of the accident. Many have described their romance as being a gift from God.

“I’ll admit it, being a so-called good boy has paid off for me. I’ve got my dream job. And I’ve found my dream girl,” Jason Kennedy recently told Glamour magazine of his relationship with Scruggs.

It is uncertain when or where Lauren Scruggs and Jason Kennedy will get married but there will no doubt be lots of happy friends and family members celebrating with them. Both families must be thrilled about the daughter or son-in-law they are about to get via marriage.

  • Rory McIlroy Calls Off His Engagement

On Wednesday, just a few short days after sending out their wedding invitations, Rory McIlroy, 25, called off his engagement to Danish tennis player Caroline Wozniacki, 23.

In a statement, released by McIlroy’s communication team, he revealed that sending the wedding invitations was eye-opening, and made him realize that he wasn’t ready for the commitment that comes along with marriage. McIlroy and Wozniacki had been dating since 2011, and got engaged on New Year’s Eve, while in Australia.

“The problem is mine. The wedding invitations issued at the weekend made me realize that I wasn’t ready for all that marriage entails,” the statement read.

“I wish Caroline all the happiness she deserves and thank her for the great times we’ve had. I will not be saying anything more about our relationship in any setting,” the statement continued.

McIlroy then addressed the break up just before the BMW PGA Championship. Although the split was McIlroy’s idea, he said that the final decision was mutual, and they had decided to go their separate ways.

”It is quite a difficult time for Caroline and myself, and the statement really said it all this morning,” McIlroy said. ”It was mutual and we both thought it was the best for us, the best for both of us. Time to move on, and I’ve said all that I need to say.”

McIlroy, seemingly annoyed, explained that all break ups are hard, but what he was there to talk about was golf, and those were the questions he was going to answer.

”Look, I’m no different than anyone else,” he said. ”Everyone has been through breakups, and it’s obviously very, very difficult. But look, I’m here to try and concentrate on this week and answer questions about golf, and that’s what I’m going to do.”

McIlroy won his first major in 2011 at the U.S. Open and then went on to win the U.S. PGA Championship in 2012. While Wozniacki is considered a top player in her sport, she has yet to win a major title.

  • Jessie To Feature Disney’s First Engagement

Disney’s Jessie will soon be stepping on new ground for a Disney Channel television series.

The lead character Jessie, played by Debby Ryan, will soon become engaged on the show, during a four-episode arc that will mark the finale of season three.

Jessie is about a 22-year-old woman that moved from Texas to New York to pursue an acting career. However, upon arriving in New York, she lands a job as a nanny for a family with adopted children from India, Africa and America.

Adam Bonnett, Disney Channel’s executive vice president of original programming, revealed that Jessie will be the first lead character to become engaged on the children’s network. “Jessie is an adult, and we felt we could tackle this in a way that still feels appropriate for our audience,” Bonnett said.

During this season, Jessie falls in love with her boyfriend Brooks, played by Pierson Fode. Bonnett explained that they kept the relationship very innocent, and showed them bonding over picnics and walks in the park. “The way we deal with this romance is very pure Disney fairy tale,” Bonnett said.

Bonnett also explained that, although the children will not be getting engaged anytime soon, they can still relate to the story line. “Our audience isn’t dealing with somebody proposing to them, but they are dealing with choices they have to make in their life, and thinking things through, following their heart and wanting to make the right choice,” he said.

Jessie averages a weekly audience of 2.9 million viewers. The targeted age is between 6-11, but the show also draws attention from the “tween” group of 9-14.

  • Jill Duggar Sets A Wedding Date For June

Jill Duggar Sets A Wedding Date For June

Just a few short weeks after announcing their engagement, Jill Duggar and her fiancé Derick Dillard have set a wedding date.

According to their wedding website, the couple will tie the knot on June 21, 2014. Also, on their website, Derick detailed how he met the love of his life.

“The answer to my prayer came in August 2013, just before I left Nepal for a two week trip to Japan,” he wrote. “During a conversation with Jim Bob, he mentioned how he thought Jill and I might get along well, having similar personalities and direction in life. He gave me Jill’s phone number and we began texting, then emailing, then skyping/ talking on the phone. Over the next few months we became very grateful for modern technology as we continued to get to know each other better. Most of our conversations were centered around our values and life goals.”

“At the end of November, Jill and her dad got to come to Nepal for a couple weeks,” he continued. “I had no idea what to expect, but I was excited and prayed that God would give clear direction during this time. By the end of the trip I felt the Lord directing me to ask Jill to officially begin a courtship relationship. She agreed and we continued getting to know one another. It would still be two months before I completed my two year term and would move back home to Arkansas. Upon my arrival home (January 2014), I was met by the Duggar clan; this was my first time to meet Jill’s family in person. Over the next few months, I enjoyed spending time getting to know Jill and her family better.”

Jill revealed to ABC News that the will most likely have a large wedding. “I think it’ll probably be a Duggar-sized wedding with lots of friends and lots of family, and everything centered on God,” Jill said. “We’re looking forward to it!”

When asked if they are planning on having children, Jill explained that she would follow in her parents footsteps and have as many children as God will give them. “Both of us want as many kids as God will give us,” she said, “and we’ve talked about adoption.” She added, “My parents have kept popping them out so we’ll see how [our] fertility is!”

  • Johnny Depp and Amanda Heard: It’s Official!

Johnny Depp and Amanda Heard: It’s Official!

It looks like Johnny Depp’s excessive amount of jewelry hasn’t put any kind of damper on his love life.

He has been happily in love with his new fiancé Amber Heard. The Pirates actor recently made his engagement to the gorgeous actress public while promoting his latest film Transcendence.

The 50-year-old actor was hanging out in Beijing earlier in the week for promotional appearances when he officially confirmed the anticipated news. The story broke after a journalist noticed some bling on his ring finger.

“Can I take that as confirmation of your engagement?” the journalist asked.

“You can take that anyway you like, absolutely,” Depp replied. “The fact that I’m wearing a chick’s ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway. Not very subtle.”

Depp wasn’t shy about how he felt about the stunning Heard either.

“She’s a wonderful girl,” Depp said of his new love. “She’s sharp as a tack. A southern belle and sweet as can be, and very good for me.”

The two celebrated their blissful relationship with a blowout of an engagement party earlier this month at the Carondelet House in downtown Los Angeles.

Steven Tyler, Mandy Moore and Marilyn Manson were some of the famous guests in attendance at the party.

Depp and the 27-year-old first met on the set of the 2011 film The Rum Diary and began dating in 2012. The duo originally kept their romance extremely private until the past year.

  • AJ McCarron and Katherine Webb Engaged

AJ McCarron and Katherine Webb Engaged

Former University of Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback AJ McCarron got engaged to long-time model girlfriend and former Miss Alabama Katherine Webb Friday. McCarron popped the question at Coast Restaurant at The Beach Club in Gulf Shores, Alabama which was witnessed by other patrons.

McCarron, 23, a Heisman trophy runner-up, is noted for being the first quarterback to win back-to-back consensus national championships in the BCS era, following the 2013 BCS National Championship Game against Notre Dame. McCarron has also been a part of three national title teams under Alabama coach Nick Saban in 2009, 2011, and 2012.

Katherine Webb, 24, gained national notoriety during the 2013 BCS National Championship Game broadcast, in which announcer Brent Musburger began gushing over her as a camera zeroed in on her face as she sat watching the game in the stands. Musburger called a “lovely lady” and “beautiful,” and remarked to his broadcast partner Kirk Herbstreit, “You quarterbacks get all the good-looking women.”

After the proposal, Webb quickly took to Twitter, showing off the ring which McCarron had designed himself:

Judging by the size of the diamond, McCarron is likely banking on a lucrative NFL contract, though some analysts are unsure of how well the quarterback’s collegiate success will translate in the NFL. McCarron is currently ranked fifth heading into the 2014 NFL Draft by NFL Draft Countdown.

After Musburger’s BCS comments, Webb gained a bit of a celebrity status, and appeared as a model in the 2013 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Some had regarded Musburger’s comments as sexist, and ESPN spokesperson issued an apology. Though, Webb wasn’t offended and told Matt Lauer that “I think the media has been really unfair to (Musburger). I think that if he would have said that we were hot or sexy or made any derogatory statements like that, I think that would have been a little bit different. But the fact that he said we were beautiful and gorgeous, I don’t see why any woman wouldn’t be flattered by that.”

  • Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis Didn’t Like Working Together

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis starred opposite one another on the hot TV show That 70s Show–but they apparently didn’t enjoy working together. This may come as a surprise to those who have witnessed just how happily in love the Two and a Half Men star is with his beautiful fiancee.

Sources say there was “no love lost” between the two who costarred together from 1998 to 2006. Their former colleagues can’t believe the two are going to get married.

“Everyone shakes their head over the romance. Ashton and Mila were absolutely not friends during much of the making of That ’70s Show. In fact, they couldn’t stand working together. The two were never close on the set. Quite the opposite!” one of the sources says.

Their mild disdain didn’t translate to the small screen at least.

It seems Mila Kunis reached out to Ashton Kutcher following his very public split from Demi Moore.

“Mila was the one who came forward to bury the hatchet. She could see Ashton was going through a tough time and reached out to him. They built a solid friendship, which was a new thing for both of them.”

One thing very clearly led to another and culminated with Ashton Kutcher asking Mila Kunis’s dad for her hand in marriage before officially proposing to her.

“He talked with Mila’s dad around Christmas time,” a source said. “He asked for Mark’s blessing to marry her. It was important to Ashton to be respectful and traditional. This is the real thing for him and he wants to do it all right.”

Stranger things have certainly happened. Some of the very best friends started out as enemies–and while it certainly doesn’t sound like that was actually the case between these two, they definitely didn’t start out thinking that one day they would tie the knot.

Did you know about Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis’s early days? Are you surprised to learn they didn’t like working together on That 70s Show?

  • Brands Are Probably Overusing Facebook Hashtags

    #Brands #need #to #stop #being #so #hashtagheavy.

Simply put, your Facebook posts are way less engaging when you overuse the hashtag. Sure, hashtags can be a great tool for brands to utilize across a wide range of social platforms-but when it comes to Facebook, less is more.

Socialbakers crunched some data from over 200,000 brand posts on Facebook on found that the moment brands start to load up on hashtags in their post, the fewer interactions they receive.

“Be careful about how many hashtags you use in your brand’s posts. Just as using too many hashtags is generally considered bad form on personal profiles, it applies doubly for brands. As we said before in our report on Instagram, abusing hashtags is bad practice, and a major red flag for users, regardless of network. We looked at branded Facebook posts from last month, and our findings support that consensus,” says the social analytics company.

Just how much does your brand’s post suffer from over-hashtagging?

Well, the average number of interactions with posts containing 1 or 2 hashtags was 593. When a post had 3 to 5 hashtags, the interactions dropped to 416. Posts crowded with 6 to 10 hashtags only received 307 interactions on average.

And posts bogged down with ten or more hashtags only got 188 average interactions. It’s a smooth slope down for brands who over-hashtag.

You have to make those hashtags count. Make sure they’re capitalizing on a trending topic, so your post has a greater chance of getting caught in Facebook’s trending stories net.

Of course, getting users to interact with your posts requires the user actually seeing your post. Once a certainty, it’s now incredibly hard for brands to organically reach their followers with content. And the super bad news is that it’s probably going to get worse.
