  • Camille Grammer Completes Chemotherapy

Camille Grammer rang in 2014 with the ring of a bell – the MD Anderson Cancer Center bell, that is.

Grammer’s chemotherapy came to a close Friday, Jan. 3. Just three months after receiving the frightening diagnosis of endometrial cancer, the 45-year-old former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star and ex-wife of Kelsey Grammer now tweets that she’s finished chemotherapy and radiation. Following her diagnosis in October 2013, Grammer had to undergo a radical hysterectomy. About a month after this procedure, she appeared on The Dr. Oz Show to speak about her journey to restored health, the men in her life, and the initial fears she had about the diagnosis and surgery.

“My heart sank,” she told Dr. Oz during the November 2013 interview.

She went on to say, “You know, you think about your children, am I gonna make it, I want to be alive for them.” Grammer also reflected on her children’s reactions to her medical news, explaining, “My son doesn’t really understand it that well, but my daughter said, mom, I’m so glad you’re getting surgery ’cause then the cancer’s gonna be all gone.”

Yet, cancer wasn’t all Camille would have to sort out during her road to recovery.

Rocky relationship dynamics don’t discontinue for those faced with illness, and Camille found herself to be no exception to this rule. She referenced ex-husband Kelsey Grammer’s absence in the lives of the two children they share when she mentioned, “My ex-husband hasn’t seen the kids since July, so I’m Mom. I’m there.” At the time, she also explained how she needed to request and obtain a temporary restraining order against ex-boyfriend Dimitri Charalambopoulos. In legal documents she expounded on the altercation, claiming that he had abused her after her surgery while she tried to recover in a hotel room and smashed her phone so that she couldn’t call for help.

With the strife of 2013 behind her, Camille is pleased to share this momentous event that marks the end of her treatment at the start of a new year.

  • Camille Grammer Completes Chemotherapy and Radiation Treatment

The last few months have been quite trying for Camille Grammar, but the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has definitely found a silver lining in it all.

According to E! News, the reality TV star is getting off to a great start this new year, with something monumental to smile about. She finished her chemotherapy and radiation treatments!

On Friday, Jan. 3, Grammer shared the announcement of her good news via Twitter. She tweeted, “I rang the bell at MD Anderson Cancer Center which marks that I have completed my Chemo and Radiation treatments. YAY.”

She also included a picture with her doctor. Grammer’s representative Howard Bragman stated that the 45-year-old ‘underwent a radical hysterectomy’ in October after being diagnosed with endometrial cancer.

The cancer was reportedly in the early stages, so Grammer’s doctors have taken great strides to expeditiously treat her condition.

Her doctors even congratulated her on the incredible feat! She responded by thanking them once more.

Her representative also said that Grammer’s risks were elevated due to genetics. Grammer even tweeted about her mother’s condition, as she too is battling cancer.

On Dec. 31, Grammer shared that her mother was still hospitalized. She also asked for the prayers of fans for her mother. Her tweet said, “Please send a prayer to my mom who is in the the hospital tonight. Her body is weak but her mind is strong. Bless her. Thank you!”

As fans began to tweet prayers and words of encouragement, Grammer replied thanking fans for all of their support.

People Magazine also reports that they spoke with Bragman as well. He touched on Grammer’s diligence and progress throughout the lengthy process of undergoing cancer treatments. “She has been diligent about regular checkups and monitoring, which explains the early detection and rapid treatment,” said Bragman.

“Ms. Grammer expresses gratitude to all the amazing health care professionals who have taken such loving and nurturing care of her,” he added. “She urges all women to be aware of genetic factors relating to women’s cancers and get regular checkups.”

  • Camille Grammer Talks Cancer With Dr. Oz

Camille Grammer, known for her role on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and for being Frasier star Kelsey Grammer’s ex-wife, chatted with Dr. Oz this week on his talk show about her cancer diagnosis and subsequent surgery.

Diagnosed with early stage endometrial cancer, Grammer says she was initially terrified, but doing much better now.

“It’s been four weeks today, a month ago. I’m feeling great,” she told Dr. Oz. “I have to say, once in a while I’ll get a little pain here and there, but I’m walking around. I was able to go trick-or-treating with my kids and my life is moving forward and I’m feeling very well, thank you.”

Grammer describes ex-husband Kelsey Grammer as an absentee dad, and maintains that she is the only present and active parent that her children have. This added extra stress made being diagnosed with cancer even more frightening.

“My heart sank. You know, you think about your children, am I gonna make it, I want to be alive for them,” Grammer said. “My kids — my ex-husband hasn’t seen the kids since July so I’m mom. I’m there. So I really needed to be here for them. My son doesn’t really understand it that well, but my daughter said, mom, I’m so glad you’re getting surgery ’cause then the cancer’s gonna be all gone.”

Cancer hasn’t been the only frightening thing on Camille Grammer’s mind either. She recently too out a restraining order on her younger boyfriend, Dimitri Charalambopoulos after he beat her up at a Texas hotel. Charalambopoulos denies the charges. This obviously added insult to injury to her healing efforts post-surgery. No one in the world should have to experience that kind of abuse.

Camille explained to Dr. Oz how she intends to get through both of her harrowing ordeals with the help of a therapist.

“Oh, it was just terrible ’cause, you know, right after any kind of procedure, you want to be surrounded by love and you need good healing vibes and positive energy around you,” she said. “I was physically abused and assaulted by this person and it was very traumatizing. But now, I’m working with a therapist and I’m going to be okay. I’m doing well.”

Did you catch Camille Grammer’s conversation with Dr. Oz on Thursday, November 14th? Don’t you admire her bravery in the face of these two incredibly scary challenges? Her strength will no doubt serve her well. Her cancer ordeal has proven to herself and to her children, too, that she can endure great challenges with courage and grace.
