  • Dakota Johnson’s SNL Monologue Mocks ’50 Shades of Grey,’ Features Parents Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson

Dakota Johnson has had quite the month with the release of her much-anticipated film Fifty Shades of Grey.

Dakota Johnson rounded out her stellar month by following in her mom Melanie Griffith’s footsteps Saturday by hosting Saturday Night Live.

Mom Melanie Griffith hosted in the ’80s and last night Dakota Johnson had her turn by taking on a variety of characters, including aa introverted blogger, an ISIS recruit and even Emma Stone.

Dakota Johnson started her monologue by dissing the latest New York weather.

“New York is so beautiful this time of year; just kidding” said Johnson.

Dakota Johnson then mocked the film that has made her a household name, Fifty Shades of Grey.

“I have a feeling at next year’s Oscars, it’s going to be… not anywhere,” she predicted glumly.

She then pointed out that the movie has “already made like $500 million” and has a “very specific group of fans.”

A leather-clad man then interrupted, but Dakota Johnson said she wasn’t taking any audience questions.

“What if I begged?” he asked, before saying he wanted Johnson to sign wife’s ball gag.

Johnson explained who her parents are and shared about her mom hosting the show.

“In December of 1988, my mother stood in exact spot and hosted ‘SNL,’” she said.

“And this is true — right after the show, my father got down on one knee and proposed to her, for the second time. And exactly 9 months later I was born. So I must’ve been conceived after the show or even during the show.”

The camera then panned to Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson in the audience, shielding their eyes.

Johnson asked her parents if they were embarrassed to watch her now.

“We were just afraid you were going to be naked,” quipped Don Johnson.

  • Emma Stone Brings To Life Gilda Radner’s Famous Character During SNL Anniversary Special

Being on primetime television for 40 years is no easy feat, that’s why NBC went all out in celebrating Saturday Night Live’s monumental success. The special featured a number of A-listers and celebrities who became a part of the show’s colorful history. Emma Stone made the audience laugh out loud when she paid tribute to Gilda Radner’s famous character, Roseanne Rosannadanna.

The Academy Award-nominated actress hit the stage during a Weekend Update sketch that saw Tina Fey reuniting with Amy Poehler on the anchor spotlight. Emma Stone considered Gilda Radner as one of her comedy heroes which is why she was up to don the ridiculously large wig and suit that fans all over the world loved.

Radner debuted the character back in 1977 and it became one of her most beloved characters during her stint at SNL. Roseannadanna was the consumer affairs correspondent of the skit who gave crazy replies to letters of “the viewers.” The character would usually dish out far-fetched stories involving celebrities and would frequently make derogatory comments to those living in New Jersey for comedic effect. Radner passed away in 1989 due to cancer after starring in over 100 SNL episodes.

The Birdman actress showed off her full costume in a behind-the-scenes snap posted on SNL’s Instagram account. Stone really looked the part when she traded her red hair with the black wig that Radner’s character made popular. She also wore the signature oversized coat and flowery blouse that made drove fans to nostalgia.

Stone wasn’t the only one who made the audience laugh during the Weekend Update sketch. Edward Norton made a hilarious appearance as Stefon 2 along with Bill Hader who also played the character that he made popular. Melissa McCarthy also appeared, paying tribute to the late Chris Farley by playing his famous character, Matt Foley.

  • Emma Stone And Bradley Cooper In “Aloha”

Emma Stone is set to star in a new movie with Bradley Cooper, Aloha.

Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper in the same movie is impressive enough, but the rest of the cast is enough reason in itself to go see this film.

Aloha is the first film from Cameron Crowe since We Bought a Zoo.

Aloha follows Bradley Cooper, as playboy military contractor Brian Gilcrest, as he returns to Hawaii after messing up an important assignment.

Emma Stone plays Allison Ng, who is a hard-hitting no-nonsense Air Force officer who finds herself slowly falling in love with Gilcrest as she works with him.

However, no romance movie is complete without a little competition that seems to threaten a perfect love. Emma Stone’s character is no exception.

Emma Stone’s competition is the lovely Rachel McAdams, who stars as Gilcrest’s ex-girlfriend who struggled to put her life back together after he left her in Hawaii.

In addition to her pretty face, Rachel McAdams exudes sweet nostalgia for Bradley Cooper’s character.

Sweet suspense! Who will win Brian Gilcrest’s heart in the end?

In addition to Emma Stone, Bradley Cooper, and Rachel McAdams, the film also features Bill Murray as a billionaire who is in the process of launching a satellite system.

Not to mention John Krasinski as Rachel McAdams’ current partner, and even the great Alec Baldwin as Gilcrest’s cranky superior officer.

    This movie looks so great!

Emma Stone hasn’t really played many a role as a by-the-book stickler.

What do you think of Emma Stone’s role in Aloha as Bradley Cooper’s unlikely love interest?

  • Emma Stone, Bradley Cooper Star in ‘Aloha’

Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper star in a new romantic comedy called Aloha. They are joined by a star-studded cast, including Rachel McAdams, Bill Murray, Alec Baldwin, John Krasinski, and Danny McBride. The first official trailer for Aloha was released this week.

Written and directed by Jerry Maguire’s Cameron Crowe, Aloha not only features a robust cast, but a gorgeous backdrop–set in Hawaii, obviously, as well. Bradley Cooper portrays a military contractor who returns to Hawaii, where he experienced his greatest career triumph as well as a broken heart at the hands of with his former girlfriend–played by Rachel McAdams. His character finds himself reconnecting with his ex while falling for an Air Force watchdog who is assigned to him. She is played by Emma Stone.

Emma Stone has been busy. Not only has she been working on Aloha, she has also been playing Sally Bowles on Broadway in Cabaret. She hands the reins to that role over to Sienna Miller, however, beginning on February 17th–leaving her open for even more new roles.

Check out the trailer for Aloha.

MTV.com probably sums up Emma Stone’s role in Aloha best.

“Emma Stone is so stratospherically adorable as a peppy military liaison that it might cause overheating in the cockles of your stony, gray heart.”

Will you be checking out Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper on the big screen in Aloha? The film is set to hit theaters in May.

  • Rachel McAdams in “Aloha”: First Look At Trailer

Rachel McAdams, along with a slew of other big stars, is in the new Cameron Crowe movie, Aloha.

Aloha stars Bradley Cooper as a military contractor, Brian Gilcrest, who returns to the site of one of his greatest career wins after blowing a big assignment.

That career win would be none other than the U.S. Space program in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Rachel McAdams plays his ex-girlfriend who struggled to put her life back together after he left her in Hawaii.

Rachel McAdams’ character and her nostalgia must compete with the new girl.

Emma Stone stars as Allison Ng, who is a hard-hitting Air Force officer who slowly, but surely, falls in love with Gilcrest as she works with him.

If the trailer was interpreted correctly, it seems he has a soft spot for her as well, and must decide whether his heart belongs to Emma Stone’s character or Rachel McAdams as his lovely ex.

    My sister.

The cast in this movie is amazing.

In addition to Rachel McAdams, Bradley Cooper, and Emma Stone, it also stars Bill Murray as a billionaire who is in the process of launching a satellite system, John Krasinski as Rachel McAdams’ current partner (boyfriend? husband? Can’t tell.), and even Alec Baldwin as Gilcrest’s angry superior officer.

This is Cameron Crowe’s first film since We Bought A Zoo. He is also known for many other films including classics like Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous, and Say Anything.

I absolutely cannot wait to see this movie.

What do you think? Does Aloha look awesome or what? And can you wait to see Rachel McAdams and Emma Stone acting together?

  • Patricia Arquette: From ‘Medium’ to Golden Globe Winner

Patricia Arquette: From ‘Medium’ to Golden Globe Winner

Patricia Arquette, known for her role as psychic Allison Dubois in the hit NBC show Medium, won a Golden Globe on Sunday for Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for the film Boyhood. Arquette beat out some stiff competition on the road to this award. She was up against Jessica Chastain, Keira Knightley, Emma Stone, and Meryl Streep. That’s a cast of characters that aren’t easy to beat.

Genuinely touched by her win, Patricia Arquette started by honoring her fellow nominees when taking the stage to accept her Golden Globe win. She thanked in particular Meryl Streep, for “for giving me a hug, I hope your DNA transferred to me.”

“Ethan Hawke, the amazing Ethan Hawke,” she continued to audience applause. “Ellar Coltrane, Lorelei Linklater, I love you all. And our visionary director, Richard Linklater, thank you for letting me a part of something that’s so human, so simple and groundbreaking in the history of cinema. You placed in my hands the part of Olivia, an under-appreciated single mother, thank you for shining a light on this woman and the millions of women like her and for allowing me to honor my own mother with this beautiful character.”

Arquette even went so far as to compare her late father and Ethan Hawke.

“To my parents Louis and Marty, who are no longer with us, you were very inspirational to me on this whole project and Ethan reminded me so much of my own father,” she said.

And she thanked those who stood by her throughout thick and thin, outside of the acting world.

She said thank you to “friends who watched my kids while I was trying to build a career as a 20-year-old single mother. To my man, Eric White, happy anniversary…and especially to my kids who I love and respect with all my heart. My favorite role in my whole life has been being your mom.”

Boyhood is an American coming of age drama. The film was shot intermittently over a 12-year period, starting in May of 2002 and ending in October of 2013. It shows the growth of a young boy and his older sister into adulthood. Patricia Arquette plays the role of their single mother, Olivia Evans, in the film.

Did you see Patricia Arquette receive her Golden Globe award on Sunday? Do you agree with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for giving her the award or do you believe Jessica Chastain, Keira Knightley, Emma Stone, or Meryl Streep may have been more deserving?

  • Emma Stone To Continue In “Cabaret” Role

Emma Stone will continue in her role as Sally Bowles in the Broadway revival of Cabaret for a little bit longer.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star took over the role from Michelle Williams. Williams snatched it up after Stone had to initially drop the role due to scheduling conflicts.

Emma Stone will be rocking the stage until February 15th, but another woman must be cast to finish out the show’s run until March 29th. That replacement will be announced later.

Stone began her performance with Cabaret on November 11th of last year. In doing so, she joined a long list of distinguished actresses who have played Sally Bowles over the years. Gina Gershon, Melina Kanakaredes, Natasha Richardson, Jane Leeves, Lea Thompson, Alyson Reed and Judi Dench are also among those who have been privileged enough.

The show is set in Berlin in 1931. The plot centers around the goings-on of the extravagant Kit-Kat Klub as the world outside becomes chaotic and war-torn.

Cabaret has found success as both a Broadway show and a film starring Liza Minnelli (in the role that Emma Stone now holds), Joel Grey, and Michael York. The film and play are both based on the 1951 Broadway play I Am a Camera.

I Am a Camera was based on the book Goodbye to Berlin by Christopher Isherwood.

All are great works of art and they have built a legacy that Emma Stone can be proud to be part of. But, that is not all she has going on right now!

Emma Stone starred in several movies that were released last year. Also, it was recently announced that she will reprise her voice role as Eep in the upcoming sequel, The Croods 2.

What do you think of Emma Stone’s role in Cabaret and her recent movies?

  • Emma Stone Takes Black Eye For “Caberet”

Emma Stone worked hard to land the role of Sally Bowles in the Broadway production of Caberet–which she took over from Michelle Williams–so she’s not letting a little personal injury stand in the way of her enjoyment onstage.

The 26-year old actress told the L.A. Times recently that she swung her leather jacket off during a show and accidentally whacked herself in the eye with a buckle, but the incident came in the midst of one of several vibrant performances and Stone hasn’t let it mar her time on the stage.

“This year has been mind-boggling. Exciting and then … ‘Omigod!’ And yet, a year ago or two years ago, I remember sitting on the couch crying about something — not surprising, I cry all the time … projects that weren’t going to happen or projects someone else was chosen for. That perspective never goes away. This will be just another period in my life that will ebb and flow, and the ups and downs are so clear to me,” she said in the interview.

Stone has been a fan of the show since she was a kid, when her mother took her to see a performance starring Natasha Richardson. Since then, it’s been her dream role, and one she was actually offered several months before she was able to accept it. That time, she had to turn it down due to a hectic schedule.

“There was one day on the schedule where I would land from Tokyo in the morning and have enough time to make it to perform in that afternoon’s matinee. I realized that this schedule would turn the dream of playing Sally into a kind of nightmare. It felt like forcing something that wouldn’t fit. But I was telling myself I can do this, and everyone wanted to make it work, and it’s hard to say no when people are being so accommodating. But part of me also thought, ‘It’s going to kill me.’” she told the New York Times.

Despite that full schedule, she hasn’t slowed down; not only is she getting rave reviews for her turn as Sally Bowles, she’s also earning them in droves for her performance in Birdman, opposite Michael Keaton. In the film, she plays a somewhat troubled young woman at odds with her father, who never bothered to have much of a relationship with her. Keaton’s character is a former film superhero trying to make a comeback on Broadway.

  • Emma Stone Flips Off Photographers

    Emma Stone Flips Off Photographers

Emma Stone has become known as a charming, down-to-Earth, hilarious young woman since she burst onto the Hollywood scene with 2007’s Superbad, but even she can’t resist showing her nasty side every now and then when it comes to nosy paparazzi.

The Caberet star finally got fed up with photographers as she was walking through the streets of NYC recently with beau Andrew Garfield and flipped off the camera, although she did it subtly so as not to draw any more attention to herself.

It’s not the first time the star has had to give the paparazzi a piece of her mind; back in June, she and Garfield held hand-written signs over their faces as they left a restaurant which read, “Good morning! We were eating and saw a group of guys with cameras outside. And so we thought, let’s try this again. We don’t need the attention, but these wonderful organizations do: www.youthmentoring.org, www.autismspeaks.org, (and don’t forget) www.wwo.org, www.gildasclubnyc.org. Here’s to the stuff that matters. Have a great day!”

Stone has had confrontations with photographers before, such as earlier this year when she stopped to talk to a man who had been following her with a camera to talk about when it’s okay to take her picture. The two spoke for a long time about their differing opinions, but unfortunately it looks like her words weren’t taken to heart.

  • Emma Stone Helps Make “Caberet” A Success

Emma Stone has been drawing big numbers to her Broadway debut in Caberet, despite the loss of co-star Alan Cumming for four shows while he was on vacation.

The show has grossed $686,271 for eight performances, and while it’s not as much as initially expected, the departure of Cumming and the price of tickets–over $110 apiece–factored into the payday as well.

Stone, who spoke recently in an interview about her love of the stage, has been garnering good reviews for her performance as Sally Bowles. The actress was actually offered the role once before but was forced to turn it down due to a hectic schedule. She officially took over for Michelle Williams on November 11.

Stone says she’s wanted the role since she was a child and admitted she was scared about her debut at first.

“I’m scared s***less! But I’ve wanted to play that part since I was, strangely, nine years old, which is way too young,” she said.

  • Emma Stone Makes Triumphant Broadway Debut

On November 11, Emma Stone made her highly anticipated Broadway debut as Sally Bowles in the musical Cabaret. It was an important moment for the actress, who has been vocal about her desire to perform in a musical, especially one as iconic as Cabaret. In an interview with HitFlix, the star said, “Honestly, I’m having the time of my life. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but it’s the most fun I’ve ever had. So it’s one of those. I guess this is what being a parent might be like but without the child part.”

Stone’s boyfriend, actor Andrew Garfield, was there to show his support for the actress. “Andrew came sharply dressed in a suit. Andrew came backstage after the show with Emma’s mother and his guests. He kissed her and congratulated her,” a source told Us Weekly. According to reports, Garfield made it a point to attend Stone’s Broadway debut before flying off to Taiwan to shoot the upcoming Martin Scorsese film Silence which also stars Liam Neeson and Adam Driver.

Garfield and Stone met on the set of The Amazing Spider-Man and the two started dating in the summer of 2011. While the two have been seen in public together, they have managed to keep their relationship private. In a rare candid interview with ABC Nightly News, Stone talked about her beau. “He’s obviously one of the greatest actors, I think, we have alive today. He’s also just a remarkable human being. I love him very much,” she said in the interview.

She is joined in the play by Alan Cummings, who’s been seen lately in the role of Eli Gold in the hit TV show The Good Wife. • Emma Stone Crushes Broadway Debut In Cabaret

“Life is a cabaret, old chum”

All eyes were on Emma Stone last night as the Hollywood actress made her Broadway debut as Sally Bowles in Cabaret. How’d she do? By many accounts, despite some understandable first night jitters, Stone gave a winning performance.

Stone, who replaced Michelle Williams in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival, has admitted that playing the role of Sally Bowles has been a lifelong dream. The actress has also confessed that she doesn’t have a classically trained power voice.

Even so, many critics seemed to love her performance. Joanna Robinson of Vanity Fair wrote, “Emma Stone nailed her emotional Broadway debut.”

Alex Needham wrote in The Guardian, “When it come to her big numbers, however, she delivers. Maybe This Time locates the vulnerability inside the camp, and Stone gives a bravura performance of the title song, at once defiant, pathetic and heroic.”

Here’s Stone, all smiles, taking her first ever Broadway curtain call.

The list of actresses who have played Sally Bowles on Broadway is a long one. We’ve seen everyone from Molly Ringwald to Brooke Shields to Lea Thompson to Gina Gershon play the role that Liza Minnelli made famous in her Academy Award winning performance in the film version of the same name in 1972.

The current adaptation of Cabaret is actually the production’s third Broadway revival. Film director Sam Mendes (American Beauty, Skyfall) has taken the helm this time around. Alan Cumming plays the sinister and creepy Master of Ceremonies.

If you would like to see Stone’s turn as Bowles on Broadway, you better act fast. The actress’ run ends on February 1, 2015. For more information and how to get tickets click here.

  • Emma Stone Talks Getting A Second Chance On Cabaret

Emma Stone didn’t realize what she was giving up when she passed on a role in the Broadway musical Cabaret. That is why she is incredibly thankful to have a shot at the role again.

The 25-year-old actress spoke to the New York Times last week and admitted that she regretted giving up the role. Stone was originally slated to play the part of Sally Bowles, however she decided to give up the part, and was replaced by Michelle Williams.

“It was painful,” she said of her decision to give up the part. “I’d said goodbye to the idea of ever playing Sally on Broadway, and it upset me; it really upset me. But I think it also helped me learn about having a real work-life balance, as cliché as that sounds.”

“I realized that [my] schedule would turn the dream of playing Sally into a kind of nightmare,” she continued. “It felt like forcing something that wouldn’t fit. But I was telling myself I can do this, and everyone wanted to make it work … But part of me also thought, ‘It’s going to kill me.’”

After finishing her commitments, Stone went to see Williams perform the part that was originally hers. That’s when Stone realized that she wanted another shot at the part and she told Roundabout Theater Company artistic director Todd Haimes that she was still interested.

“It was weird to think of wearing someone else’s clothes,” she said. “But this was my chance to do Cabaret with Alan and in Studio 54, and that would never happen again … I’m just glad the chance came around again to earn my stripes as Sally.”

Stone will take over the role from Williams on November 11.

  • Emma Stone On Getting Another Shot At “Caberet”

Emma Stone has massive talent, but she knows as well as any actor does that when a chance to play a plum role comes around, it rarely–if ever–comes knocking twice. That’s why she’s so excited to play Sally Bowles in a Broadway revival of Caberet, because she actually did have the role once before, only to have to turn it down.

Stone cites a hectic schedule as the reason she couldn’t take the role, saying it was “painful” to have to give it up. Michelle Williams eventually took the lead.

Stone has said she didn’t think she had the voice to do a musical when she was younger, but actress Natasha Richardson gave her the confidence–at nine years old, when she first saw the actress in a revival of the show–to realize she didn’t have to have a perfect sound as long as she was conveying feeling. On that point, says director Rob Marshall, she’s stellar.

“She doesn’t know how to sing a lyric without giving it color and feeling and point of view. A lot of actors are preoccupied with the technical work and hitting the notes. Emma illuminates,” Marshall said.

Stone was able to work out her scheduling conflict and expressed to the director that she was still interested in the role; she will take over for Williams in the role on November 11.

  • Emma Stone ‘Scared S***less’ of Upcoming Broadway Debut

Emma Stone, 25, is apparently “scared s***less” of making her debut on Broadway next month.

The Birdman actress will take over the role of Sally Bowles in Cabaret from Michelle Williams and says she’s just a wee bit nervous about the undertaking.

“I’m scared s**tless!” she admitted. “But I’ve wanted to play that part since I was, strangely, nine years old, which is way too young.”

Stone talked about the first time she saw Cabaret while promoting Birdman on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

“I saw it in New York for the first time with Alan as the Emcee when I was nine years old, which is the most inappropriate show to take a nine-year-old to,” she said. “Do not bring a child!”

The girlfriend of Andrew Garfield has been “singing and dancing eight times a week” in preparation for the role, which she admits is “terrifying but fun.”

Stone will star in the role from Nov. 11 to Feb. 1, 2015.

The actress has future plans in the works as well, which include starting a family.

When asked what kind of life she would like to have in 10 years, she told People , “Family, peace, a home and challenging work.”

The magazine also reports that if the Spider-Man 2 star does have kids in the future, she may teach them about one of her fascinations — astrology.

“I know way too much about it, and it’s ridiculous,” she said. “I know it’s not real… but it could be. We don’t know.”

  • Bill Murray Talks All-Female ‘Ghostbusters’ Cast

Bill Murray starred in Ghostbusters thirty years ago, and he doesn’t want to star in any future Ghostbusters productions. However, that hasn’t stopped the funny man and actor from discussing the possibility of a remake with an all-female cast. And what an amazing cast that would be.

“I’m fine with it; I’d go to that movie,” he said during an interview with The Toronto Star at the Toronto International Film Festival, where his drama/comedy with Melissa McCarthy, St. Vincent, premiered. “They’d probably have better outfits, too.”

Bill Murray even shared the names that immediately came to mind when he imagined that Ghostbusters all-female cast.

“Melissa (McCarthy) would be a spectacular Ghostbuster,” Murray said, mentioning his latest co-star first. “And Kristen Wiig is so funny. God, she’s funny!”

Word spread quickly, it seems, throughout those present at the Toronto International Film Festival.

    That’s not all, however.

“I like this (Mad Men’s) Linda Cardellini a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there,” he added.

    Kristen Wiig even replied.

Do you suppose Sony will heed Bill Murray’s suggestions and produce a new Ghostbusters with his all-female list of characters? It would likely have a box office draw, but probably nothing compared to the original.

Ghostbusters was a supernatural comedy film, first released in 1984. It was written by Dan Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, and in addition to Bill Murray, starred Dan Akyroyd, and Harold Ramis. The film was originally scripted to include parts for John Belushi and John Candy. John Belushi’s death and Candy not opting in forced some re-writing. A huge box office success, Ghostbusters was nominated for two Oscars, but didn’t win.

Bill Murray and Melissa McCarthy will appear in theaters next month in St. Vincent, where Murray plays the role of a retired, drunken war veteran–who also likes to gamble. McCarthy’s character–his new neighbor–recruits him to watch over her 12-year-old son. Murray’s character’s ideas of after-school entertainment are vastly different from those of McCarthy’s.

While fans might be a bit disappointed to learn Bill Murray won’t appear on the big screen in a new Ghostbusters, they will no doubt enjoy seeing him alongside Melissa McCarthy. St. Vincent opens in U.S. theaters on October 10th, and looks to be perfect vintage Murray–almost akin to his What About Bob? persona.

  • Bill Murray’s Dream All-Female ‘Ghostbusters’ Cast Includes Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, and Emma Stone

Bill Murray isn’t likely to star in a new Ghostbusters movie any time soon, but that doesn’t preclude him from sharing his thoughts on who he would cast in an all-female reboot of the classic 80s film.

Murray revealed his thoughts on the rumored all-female Ghostbusters movie that Sony is said to be considering while at the Toronto International Film Festival this week.

While Murray has nixed starring in any more Ghostbusters films, he’s certainly not against an all-female version of the hit movies.

“I’m fine with it; I’d go to that movie,” Murray told The Toronto Star at the TIFF premier of his film, St. Vincent, which also stars Melissa McCarthy. “They’d probably have better outfits, too.”

Speaking of McCarthy, Murray thinks the 44-year-old Tammy actress would be perfect in the film.

“Melissa would be a spectacular Ghostbuster,” Murray said. “And Kristen Wiig is so funny. God, she’s funny!”

    He didn’t stop there.

“I like this Linda Cardellini (of Mad Men) a lot,” he said. “And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there.”

McCarthy seems to think the idea of a reboot may actually materialize, but has not received offers from the studio.

“I think that somebody is really trying to do it, but nobody has talked to me about it,” she said. “Listen, if the people I think are doing it are doing it, I must never question them.”

Walking in the footsteps of the original cast members seems like a particularly challenging proposition for The Heat actress, but says working with the women on Murray’s list would be a dream come true.

“Oh, my God, that’s daunting. That’s taking on a legend, a legendary movie. But I would do anything with those ladies, anything at all,” she gushed.

In August, Sony was reportedly considering the idea of a reboot, with Bridesmaids director Paul Feig at the helm.

  • Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy To Return?

Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy To Return?

Emma Stone played an amazing Gwen Stacy in recent Spiderman installations. However, many thought we’d seen the last of Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy when Stacy was killed off in the most recent movie.

But, fans of the Spiderman movies should think twice before writing her off. Yes, she had to go to make way for Mary Jane Watson, but in a recent editorial at ComicBookMovie.com, the author says that this doesn’t have to be the end for Emma Stone.

The author observes, “Within the fictional universe, Gwen Stacy’s death has enormous repercussions. From day one we all knew that Gwen Stacy will die and be replaced by Mary Jane Watson in the Webb franchise. Well now Captain Stacy and Gwen Stacy have both died so you must be thinking that we will [not] see Mary Jane in the next instalment (sic); well you’re wrong.”

He adds, “Due to the successful response from Peter and Gwen’s relationship I believe that the writers will bring back Gwen Stacy. Wait what? Yes, there are many storylines in comics were we have seen Gwen Stacy return after her death; it’s comics after all.”

Interesting! If you are familiar with Spiderman only through movies, this is a revelation!

Apparently one scenario could go something like this. The author points out, “Miles Warren was secretly in love with Gwen. Following her death, Warren grows increasingly insane and adopts the persona of the Jackal who had managed to create a clone of Gwen.”

However, a more plausible situation, according to the same author, would look a little more like this:

“The Chameleon’s most ambitious hate against Spider-Man happened when he formed an alliance with Harry Osborn; Harry told Chameleon Spider-Man’s secret identity could be found through Peter Parker, so he constructed androids of Peter Parker’s parents. The plan led to a psychotic breakdown for Spider-Man. After tricking Spider-Man to the bridge where his first love Gwen Stacy died, Chameleon threw himself off the bridge. He reappeared some time later in a mental institution, completely incapacitated.”

“I believed from the start this story should be included in the franchise. Now that Gwen is dead. It makes more sense for it to be Gwen Stacy instead of Peter’s parents. Because it would really hit Peter hard if his future villains bring up Gwen’s death causing Peter to have a huge breakdown when he is fighting the villains.”

What do you think? Would you like to see Emma Stone make a reappearance as Gwen Stacy in the next Spiderman movie? What would a good storyline be to bring her back, in your opinion?

  • Emma Stone Shows Off New Choppy Bob

Emma Stone has had a few style changes in recent years, going from red to her natural blonde for The Amazing Spider-Man and then back to red again. Now, she’s showing off a new choppy haircut that’s several inches shorter than the hairstyle she’s been rocking lately, and it’s making headlines.

The actress put in a dazzling appearance at the Venice Film Festival last week with a forest green Valentino ball gown, her auburn hair cut into a short style that accentuates her delicate features. According to MSN, celebrity stylist Mara Roszak did the honors.

Roszak has worked with Stone before and says the star is generally down for whatever she suggests, even when it’s new bangs before a big premiere.

“We both were like, ‘This is gonna be a fresh look, let’s do it!’ I knew they would be a really fun look for her so I just felt like why not have them for a premiere, like an accessory,” she said.

Stone will be making her Broadway debut this fall in Caberet and will appear next in Birdman alongside Michael Keaton.

  • Emma Stone Set for Broadway Debut

Emma Stone, known for film roles in The Help and The Amazing Spider-Man series, is set to make her debut on Broadway this fall. She will replace Michelle Williams in the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of Cabaret. Emma will play the role of showgirl Sally Bowles.

Michelle Williams will reportedly vacate the role in early November, with Emma Stone stepping into her shoes from then until some time in April. Stone has big shoes to fill in Cabaret. In addition to Michelle Williams, the role has previously been played by a slew of top notch actresses including Jill Haworth, Gina Gershon, Melina Kanakaredes, Natasha Richardson, Jane Leeves, Lea Thompson, Alyson Reed and Judi Dench. No worries, however. There is little to no doubt that Emma Stone has what it takes to make Broadway–and her role as Sally Bowles–her own.

Those worried that Stone will forgo her film work for Broadway needn’t be concerned either. She is already set to star alongside Michael Keaton, Naomi Watts, Edward Norton, and more in Birdman.

Word that Emma Stone will soon be on Broadway is spreading quickly.

One thing is for certain regarding Emma Stone heading to Broadway. Her Spider-Man costar and boyfriend Andrew Garfield will support her wholeheartedly. He received a Tony Award nomination for his Broadway performance as Biff Loman in Death of A Salesman on a Broadway stage back in 2012.

Will you head to the bright lights of the big city to see Emma Stone make her Broadway debut as Sally Bowles in Cabaret? You’ll likely be in good company. With word of her debut spreading like wildfire, however, tickets might be difficult to procure.

Emma Stone Will Debut On Broadway In ‘Cabaret’ Revival

Screen star Emma Stone will debut on Broadway’s revival of the classic musical Cabaret as Michelle Williams ends her run. Stone will take over Wiliams role as Sally Bowles, the troubled 19-year-old cabaret performer.

The Roundabout Theatre Company officially released the news Wednesday, welcoming Stone into the cast for a limited run. The 25-year-old’s prior work include The Amazing Spiderman 2, Crazy, Stupid, Love and Easy A.

USA Today reported that Williams’ final curtain call as Bowles will be on November 9. Stone will take over two days after November 11 and will remain in the cast through February 11.  The show is scheduled to run until March 29 with Alan Cumming staying put in his role as the chilling Emcee who oversees all the cabaret action.

Cabaret is a Kander and Ebb musical first produced on Broadway in 1966. It was based on the 1951 Broadway play I Am a Camera which, in turn, was based on a book written by Christopher Isherwood. It was very well received and later inspired numerous other productions in New York and London. It was also adapted into film in 1972 which cast Liza Minnelli as Bowles.

The current show is a revival of the revival which ran for more than 2,000 performances from 1998 to 2004. That run won the Tony Award in 1998 for best musical revival.

The story is set in Berlin before the Second World War, just as the Nazis are rising to power. It is a peek in and around the Kit Kat Klub, the life of showgirl Sally Bowles and her relationship with American writer, Cliff Bradshaw.  The plot also highlights a doomed romance between a German boarding house owner and an elderly Jewish fruit vendor.

In addition to Minnelli and Williams, the part of Bowles has also been played by Judi Dench, Gina Gershon, Jill Haworth, Melina Kanakaredes, Jane Leeves, Natasha Richardson, Alyson Reed and Lea Thompson, among others.
