  • Ron Burgundy Will Temporarily Be The Name Of Emerson College’s Communication School

We have all heard of the immense amount of promotion that has gone into the sequel to the 2003 hit film Anchorman.

There is now one more stunt to add to the list-a list that includes Ferrell’s character doing commercials for the new Dodge Durango, a flavor of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, and more.

For one day only, Emerson College will change the name of its communication school in order to honor the Anchorman character.

On December 4th, the fictitious news anchor, Ron Burgundy, will be represented at the college, and Will Ferrell is also set to make an appearance at the college, while in character of course.

Ron Burgundy will speak to the students, and share his path to success and journalism greatness. Ferrell’s visit will include a news conference, the renaming ceremony, as well as an advance screening of the new film, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.

Burgundy and his famous news team have also been included in an exhibit that is on display at the Newseum in Washington D.C.

The students of Emerson College can clearly get excited about such an event happening, and luckily for them, they will also be able to see the much anticipated film weeks before the rest of the world. Lee Pelton, the president of Emerson College, says that “Burgundy understands the power of media, as well as hairspray, firsthand.”

Now, of course that must be have been told in a slightly joking manner, but needless to say, Pelton is excited to introduce the Anchorman star to the students of his college, and it is clearly bringing attention to the small college, which is located in Boston, Massachusetts.

The final trailer for Ron Burgundy’s new film was also released recently, and Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will debut in theaters on December 20. The wait is finally over for all of the fans of the first film, which was released 10 years ago.
