  • Jessa Duggar: Former “19 Kids and Counting” Star Named Her Baby What?

Jessa Duggar has finally named her baby. She and hubby Ben Seewald welcomed a baby boy into their lives one week ago, following a grueling 48-hour labor and emeergency trip to the hospital via ambulance for Jessa following the home birth. Nearly a week went by with the former 19 Kids and Counting grandchild having no name. Late on Wednesday, the announcement came.

    Spurgeon Elliot Seewald.

    Why?

Prior to the announcement, both Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald admitted they were having difficulty choosing a name for their baby boy. They wanted something strong–something reminiscent of biblical heroes.

Charles Spurgeon was a British preacher in England in the 1800s. He wrote several hymns that are still sung in Christian churches today. Ben Seewald told People magazine that Spurgeon has long been one of his “personal heroes.”

“Elliot” comes from late missionaries Jim and Elisabeth Elliot. Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald have long admired the work they did in South America.

Even though Jessa Duggar asked fans for ideas for names for their baby–long before he was born–they clearly opted not to use any of the more than 100,000 options sent in.

Spurgeon Elliot Seewald is the sixth grandchild to grace the Duggar family. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have four grandchildren from Josh and Anna Duggar, and one from Jill Duggar Dillard and husband Derick Dillard.

What do you think of the name Jessa Duggar Seewald and her husband chose for their baby boy?

Might little Spurgeon one day be teased mercilessly for his name? After all, kids can be cruel.

Surely as he grows older, Spurgeon Elliot Seewald will appreciate the thought put into his unusual moniker.

  • Josh Duggar And Family Continue To Air Their Dirty Laundry Publicly

Josh Duggar’s mom, Michelle — the one who thinks transgenders are child molesters — announced via the family blog that her molester, cheater son is headed to rehab.

The Duggar matriarch announced to the family’s legions of die-hard supporters that Josh had brought great difficulty and insult to their world.

“We are so thankful for the outpouring of love, care and prayers for our family during this most difficult situation with Josh. As parents we are so deeply grieved by our son’s decisions and actions. His wrong choices have deeply hurt his precious wife and children and have negatively affected so many others. He has also brought great insult to the values and faith we hold dear. Yesterday Josh checked himself into a long-term treatment center. For him it will be a long journey toward wholeness and recovery. We pray that in this he comes to complete repentance and sincere change. In the meantime, we will be offering our love, care and devoted support to Anna and our grandchildren as she also receives counsel and help for her own heart and future. During this time we continue to look to God—He is our rock and comfort. We ask for your continued prayers for our entire family.”

When Josh Duggar first admitted to cheating on his wife, he also did so with an announcement to fans.

“I have been the biggest hypocrite ever. While espousing faith and family values, I have secretly over the last several years been viewing pornography on the internet and this became a secret addiction and I became unfaithful to my wife.

“I am so ashamed of the double life that I have been living and am grieved for the hurt, pain and disgrace my sin has caused my wife and family, and most of all Jesus and all those who profess faith in Him.

“I brought hurt and a reproach to my family, close friends and the fans of our show with my actions that happened when I was 14-15 years old, and now I have re-broken their trust.

“The last few years, while publicly stating I was fighting against immorality in our country while hiding my own personal failings.

“As I am learning the hard way, we have the freedom to choose our actions, but we do not get to choose our consequences. I deeply regret all the hurt I have caused so many by being such a bad example.

“I humbly ask for your forgiveness. Please pray for my precious wife Anna and our family during this time.”

Why the Duggar family continues to air their dirty laundry publicly is a source of much puzzlement for many. Are they still looking for an audience? Why not go away and heal like a normal family?

  • Duggar Family Woes Blamed On Jim Bob’s Militaristic Parenting

The Duggar Family provided audiences and tabloid readers with lots of light-hearted fun for years. People were wowed by how the 19 Kids of the show’s title were so well-behaved, especially in the ways of relationships.

But now that The Duggar Way seems to have a few holes in it — as evidenced by Josh Duggar’s molestations, porn addiction, pursuit of an affair online, and cheating on his wife — the squeaky clean image is starting to look a bit draconian to more people. And some sources say the blame lands at the feet of the patriarch, Jim Bob Duggar.

“Jim Bob’s favorite word is ‘no,’ ” one Duggar family acquaintance tole People Magazine. “He’s like a dictator. He once saw a guy kissing a girl before marriage and confronted him about it. And the guy said, ‘Jim Bob, show me that verse in the Bible that says we can’t kiss. Get out your Bible.’ And Jim Bob was like, ‘Uhhhh …’ because no one ever confronts Jim Bob. No one.”

That innocent Duggar avoidance of contact during courtship, as well as the continued rules even during engagement, is now looking more like a dictatorial approach to sex that avoids the subject like a disease.

“They don’t talk about sex. They don’t talk about sexuality,” says the source.

There is even the claim that Jim Bob Duggar would not let his kids have toys that made music, or removed the batteries from those that did, so his kids would not be tempted to dance to the music. He supposedly did this “because he didn’t want [his kids] to dance or move their bodies that way.”

Now some folks are saying that Jim Bob Duggar’s approach did not keep his kids pure. It made them worse.

Andrea Denhoed says in a recent New Yorker article, “The flip side of the strict sexual prohibitions in the culture to which the Duggars belong is a belief, sometimes bordering on the prurient, in the unbridled nature of male sexuality. Men are often portrayed as sexually ravenous, constantly on the edge of losing control of their libidos. Women, meanwhile, are generally seen as guardians of purity who must not stoke men’s passions.”

  • Anna Duggar: Parents More Concerned About How a Divorce Would Look

Anna Duggar has been the center of attention ever since her husband Josh Duggar was revealed to have molested girls when he was a teen. Anna Duggar stood by him, announcing that she knew about his youthful indiscretions before they were married.

Now the world knows that Anna did not know everything about Josh. She did not know he had an Ashley Madison account. Anna did not know that he had cheated on her.

One popular Facebook post this week took a pitied look at Anna Duggar’s plight.

Let me tell you: Anna Duggar is in the worst position she could possibly be in right now. Anna Duggar was crippled by her parents by receiving no education, having no work experience (or life experience, for that matter) and then was shackled to this loser because his family was famous in their religious circle. Anna Duggar was taught that her sole purpose in life, the most meaningful thing she could do, was to be chaste and proper, a devout wife, and a mother. Anna Duggar did that! Anna Duggar followed the rules that were imposed on her from the get-go and this is what she got in reward- a husband who she found out, in the span of 6 months, not only molested his own sisters, but was unfaithful to her in the most humiliating way possible…. She lived up to the standard that men set for her of being chaste and Godly and in return, the man who demanded this of her sought women who were the opposite. “Be this,” they told her. She was. It wasn’t enough.

Anna Duggar’s brother has made no secret of his wish that Josh Duggar get away from his sister. In a series of Facebook posts, Daniel Keller railed against those who argued that Josh’s sin was no worse than anyone else’s. They argued that Josh confessed and is forgiven.

“Confessing and getting caught are two different things,” Keller countered.

But Keller even went so far as to throw his own parents under the bus for their attitude toward the Josh Duggar scandal.

“[My] parents are preaching stay w[ith] him,” Keller wrote. The[y’re] more interested in how [their] daughter getting a divorce will make them look than they are in trying to truly get [J]osh some help and getting Anna and the kids out of there till he has gotten that help.”

  • Anna Duggar: Will She Leave Josh Duggar Since Learning He Cheated On Her?

Anna Duggar learned some shocking news this week, right along with fans of the former 19 Kids and Counting reality show. Josh Duggar cheated on Anna Duggar as a subscriber of the hook-up site Ashley Madison. Will she leave him?

Everyone who follows the Duggar family saga knows that Josh Duggar sexually molested four of his sisters and one non-relative when he was a teen. Anna Duggar said she knew this about him before she married him. She claimed at the time that Josh repented of his sin and asked the Lord for forgiveness. She has since had his four children–the most recent was born this summer.

Now a source tells People magazine that Anna Duggar won’t leave Josh.

“Anna will not leave him,” the source claims. “As with her in-laws, she is turning more to her faith than ever. She and Josh are probably praying around the clock right now, I would assume.”

The source added that Anna Duggar might even take some of the blame.

Yes, you read that correctly. Anna Duggar might take some of the blame for her husband cheating on her.

“Maybe not publicly, ever, but privately, there will be some suggestion of whether or not she should have been more aware of the pressures Josh was under, of the issues he was facing, and how she could have better counseled him or helped him,” the source says.

“She is fully and permanently committed to her marriage and her children. And she’ll have the support of Jim Bob and Michelle and everyone else in their circle in terms of staying with him and making this work,” the source continues. “Divorce is not even something that will be discussed.”

Anna Duggar should likely run–not walk–to the nearest lawyer and immediately file for divorce from Josh Duggar. Forgiving his transgressions from his teen years is one thing, but accepting even part of the blame for his cheating on her is something else entirely.

Anna Duggar needs counseling. She may choose to get that from a church source–and that’s just fine. But hopefully she will seek that counsel from someone not affiliated with the Duggar family.

Would you leave Josh Duggar if you were his wife?

  • Jill Duggar, Derick Dillard Back in U.S., Spotted in NYC With Jessa Duggar

Jill Duggar and her hubby Derick Dillard have left Central America where they served as missionaries and have returned to the United States. In fact, they were spotted in New York City on Thursday.

Carolina J. Moreno is an editor for The Huffington Post. She saw Jill Duggar, along with her sister Jessa Duggar Seewald, and their mom Michelle Duggar at the M&M store located in Times Square. Moreno shared word of her 19 Kids and Counting family member sighting via Twitter.

A few minutes later Moreno Tweeted yet another message.

It is believed that Jill Duggar, Jessa Duggar Seewald, and Michelle Duggar are likely in New York City where filming for TLC’s special on sexual abuse is taking place. It’s uncertain if Michelle Duggar will appear in the documentary or if she is just along for support.

TLC recently cancelled 19 Kids and Counting because of Josh Duggar’s sexual molestation scandal, but said they would be featuring both Jessa Duggar Seewald and Jill Duggar Dillard in the upcoming documentary.

Earlier on Friday, Jill Duggar posted a photo of herself, her husband and their baby boy Israel on a plane.

    “Traveling!” she captioned the photo.

A photo posted by Jill Dillard (@jillmdillard) on

It’s uncertain if the Dillard family is traveling back to Central America or if their duties as missionaries were fulfilled when they traveled to New York City.

Surely Michelle Duggar will soon update all on the family’s latest escapades via the Duggar Family website.

Do you think Jill Duggar, sister Jessa Duggar Seewald, and the rest of the gang spotted in New York City are all back in Arkansas by now?

The TLC special featuring Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa Duggar Seewald is supposed to air some time in August.

  • Michelle Duggar Clings to Faith After ’19 Kids and Counting’ Gets Axed

Michelle Duggar is clinging to her faith even more than usual these days, in light of TLC’s cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting. The mom of 19 is a devout Christian, but Christians have their struggles, too.

Via the Duggar Family website, Michelle Duggar shared her feelings, noting that other mothers no doubt feel the same during their own struggles.

It was 1:00 AM in the morning as I stood folding laundry with tears streaming down my cheeks. Feelings of being overwhelmed flooded my mind. I cried aloud, “LORD I NEED YOUR HELP, I can’t do it all! I feel so inadequate! Diapers, dishes, laundry, meals, cleanup, school lessons, baths, hugs, kisses, correction…” My list seemed to go on and on.

Then it was as if a still small voice said, “Michelle, it’s easy to praise ME when things are going good, but are you willing to praise ME now?” Immediately the scripture that says, “Offer up a sacrifice of praise”, came to mind.

I said, “OK Lord, I will praise you even now! It really is a sacrifice!” So through the tears I began to sing, “The joy of the Lord is my strength”. In my heart there was a release as if a burden had been lifted. I finished the laundry at 2 AM and went to bed.

Days later, I was at our piano teacher’s home (at 7 AM) trying to catch up on paperwork while the children were taking their lessons. Instead, I kept drifting off to sleep! The teacher noticed and asked, “Are you OK?” I replied, “I’m fine, I’m just tired. I was up late finishing laundry.”

As we talked more she said that she actually enjoyed doing laundry and that she would be glad to come and help me! That weekend when she arrived we had mountains of dirty laundry, and when she left we had nice, neat, orderly stacks of clean laundry! For 12 years now, our piano teacher, whom we consider a part of our family and loving call “NaNa” has faithfully come (now twice a week) to help us with laundry! GOD sent “An angel” in answer to my cry for help.

He is faithful to hear the humble cries of his children. “Humble thyself in the sight of the Lord and He will lift you up.” God lifted my burden (literally mountains of laundry!) and freed me to meet the more urgent needs of my family. “Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto Him be glory…”

Michelle Duggar has learned something every mom needs to learn. t’s okay to ask for and/or accept help. In these weeks since the Josh Duggar sexual molestation scandal hit the media, Michelle Duggar has been pushed and pulled in countless directions. Just because she’s a reality TV star doesn’t mean she’s without feelings and frustrations. Not only has their family taken a huge hit financially, they’ve been ostracized in the media. Michelle Duggar is feeling a lot of pain.

Even those who feel the Duggar family is getting their due need to stop and think about the human side to this situation. No mother is without fault. Even if Michelle Duggar and her husband Jim Bob didn’t handle their son’s situation properly, they’re still human beings.

Hopefully Michelle Duggar and the rest of the 19 Kids and Counting family will continue clinging to their faith in the weeks to come.

Who knows what’s in store for the Duggar family in the coming days?

Do you expect they will ever return to TV?

  • Josh Duggar Civil Suit: What This Means for Him and ’19 Kids and Counting’ Family

Josh Duggar may soon be sued in a civil case stemming from his sexual molestations from several years ago. The person who may sue the eldest of the 19 Duggar siblings is the fifth of his five underage victims–four of whom are his sisters. Victim number five was a babysitter at the 19 Kids and Counting household at the time the molestations took place.

The babysitter reportedly stayed quiet for all these years, and her sexual molestation took place in the same way sisters Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa Duggar Seewald’s did–meaning they were asleep at the time. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar told the babysitter and her family at the time they learned about the molestations.

Fox News reports that the statute of limitations has passed, so Josh Duggar cannot be prosecuted for his crimes. They do believe there’s a chance that the babysitter could be awarded some money if she does in fact choose to sue Josh Duggar.

Right now, allegations say only Josh Duggar will be named if there is a civil suit. Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar–and the way they handled the situation, reportedly won’t be named in the potential lawsuit.

Josh Duggar is, of course, the reason behind TLC’s cancellation of the Duggar family’s reality show, 19 Kids and Counting. He is also a new father for the fourth time. Josh and Anna Duggar welcomed daughter Meredith Grace Duggar into their world a week ago.

A photo posted by Josh Duggar (@joshduggar) on

No one would willingly walk in Josh Duggar’s shoes right now. The young man who once had such a bright future is now unemployed–and possibly even unemployable. He has four children to care for. The most lucrative means of income his family had is gone.

Do you expect this former babysitter will actually open herself up to the scandal that will ensue if she does in fact sue Josh Duggar for the crime he committed when he was a teen?

And if so, do you think she will win?

How will Josh Duggar pay if ordered by a court to forward such damages to his as-yet unnamed victim?

Will that fall on parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar if Josh has no income?

  • Jessa Duggar Shares New Pregnancy Progression Photo, ’19 Kids and Counting’ Cancellation Not Keeping Her from Limelight

Jessa Duggar has shared yet another pregnancy progression photo with her followers, and by the number of comments she’s received, it’s clear that the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting isn’t keeping Jessa Duggar from the limelight.

The mom-to-be and her husband Ben Seewald are expecting their first child on November 1st, which is also their first wedding anniversary. If they know the gender of their child, they haven’t yet shared that news with their followers.

In a picture posted on Friday, Jessa Duggar Seewald shared her growing belly. She is now 25 weeks along.

“#BabySeewald at 25 weeks 4 days! Just a little over 14 weeks to go! Counting down the days with @ben_seewald!” she captioned the photo.

A photo posted by Jessa Seewald (@jessaseewald) on

Shortly after sharing that Instagram post, Jessa Duggar donned an adorable apron embroidered with ‘Mrs. Seewald’ across the front, and shared a delicious recipe with her followers.

“Amy Cornett’s Super Easy Pretzel Cheesecake! This certainly isn’t a healthy dessert, but I love it so much that I have to make it at least once a year or so! So yummy and easy to throw together!
    Makes one 9×13 pan!
    _Layer 1:
•1 stick butter melted, with 2 T. sugar, poured over
    •2 cups broken pretzels
Bake at 350 for 2-5 min! (be careful not to let it burn!) _Layer 2:
    •16 oz. cream cheese
    •8 oz. sour cream
    •1 cup sugar
_Layer 3: 2 containers strawberries or blueberries
•1 jar strawberry or blueberry preserves
After layers are mixed individually, layer in pan… and then, if you can muster up enough self-control, refrigerate over night for best flavors! Enjoy!” she captioned the photo.

A photo posted by Jessa Seewald (@jessaseewald) on

Maybe Jessa Duggar Seewald will one day make a return to network TV with her own cooking show?

It’s good to see that despite the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting, Jessa Duggar is carrying on with her life, and that her social media followers still support her efforts. Jessa was one of brother Josh Duggar’s sexual molestation victims. His actions are the reason behind TLC canceling the Duggar family’s reality show.

Do you think there’s any chance at all that Jessa–and maybe sister Jill Duggar Dillard, too–might find their way back to appearing on TV?

  • Amy Duggar and Fiance Disappointed TLC Won’t Air Their Wedding in Wake of ’19 Kids and Counting’ Cancellation

Amy Duggar and her fiance Dillon King are looking forward to getting married, and they were looking forward to sharing their nuptials with their fans via a TLC special. It seems they are the latest casualties of the Josh Duggar sexual molestation scandal, because they recently received word from TLC that the wedding won’t be aired.

RadarOnline reports that Dillon King shared word of TLC’s decision via Instagram, in a post that has since been deleted.

The publication says Amy Duggar’s fiance wrote that the two of them, “were very excited about having the opportunity to share our life experience with you all,” but that they won’t be exchanging vows in a TV special.

“TLC [called] us yesterday stating they have decided that they will NOT be filming our wedding and they are ‘glad they got to work with us.’ So, Amy and myself apologize that we will not be able to share our special day with you all on the TLC network.”

This is likely–at least in part–to TLC’s recent cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting. If they can’t get sponsors to support the Duggar family’s reality show, it’s highly unlikely they’d find sponsors to support a cousin’s wedding.

Amy Duggar’s fiance went on to urge their fans to contact TLC and to “voice their opinion” about the network’s change of heart.

Amy Duggar is the daughter of Jim Bob Duggar’s sister. Her father has recently caused embarrassment for the 19 Kids and Counting family when an old lawsuit, claiming he transmitted genital herpes to a woman with whom he had unprotected sex many years ago, surfaced recently.

What do you suppose the chances are of another network picking up the Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s family’s reality show? Could 19 Kids and Counting–as well as Amy Duggar and her fiance’s wedding–wind up being aired somewhere else?

  • 19 Kids and Counting: Duggar Petition Site a Scam To Collect Email Addresses?

When the Duggar’s show 19 Kids and Counting was finally officially cancelled by TLC, fans of the show were livid. They took to comment sections of blogs, Twitter accounts, and Facebook pages by the score to vent their displeasure that their favorite show had fallen victim to its bad press.

Now comes the news that there is a petition out there that fans can sign in an effort to bring the show back. The petition that is getting so much press is found at SupportTheDuggars.com.

The text of the petition reads as follows:

While the Duggar family may not be perfect and they’ve had difficulties like so many other families, their show WAS one of the few clean, family-friendly shows on TV. Sadly, there isn’t much a family can watch together any longer. The airwaves are full of terrible, trashy television! It isn’t right that the Duggars must be forced off the air while the filthy shows remain!

We want our voices to be heard! We all know the power of standing together—just ask A&E what happened when they cancelled Duck Dynasty!

It seems that every day in America our values and way of life are disappearing. We must all stand together.

Please complete the petition form below to tell the Duggar Family we support them and to tell TLC that we want the Duggars back on the air!

There is then a simple form where fans can enter their name, state, and email address.

Just a side note: Duck Dynasty was never canceled. Phil Robertson was suspended from the show, but it was never termed as permanent, and he was brought back.

But there is a bigger concern with this site.

Why wasn’t this petition hosted somewhere like change.org, where many such petitions are started and seen? In fact, a petition hosted there got almost 200,000 supporters asking for 19 Kids and Counting to be canceled. Others there, asking for the show to be brought back, have 500+ supporters.

The site, though, is hosted at Godaddy and registered through a service called Domains by Proxy, which many use to keep their ownership of a site anonymous. Nothing shocking there.

But a look at the “fine print” terms you have to agree to in order to submit your name as wanting the Duggars back on TV.

I knowingly and voluntarily add my name and other personal information to this petition. I understand that, by doing so, I am indicating my support for both 19 Kids and Counting and the Duggar family. I am over 18 years old and agree that any personal information collected through this site, including, without limitation, my name, geographic location, email and/or support for 19 Kids and Counting and/or the Duggar family, may be shared with TLC and/or other third parties for any purpose; and that such parties may use such information in any manner, including, without limitation, to communicate with me.

By signing the petition, you give permission for the anonymous owner of this site, which was wholly unnecessary in the first place, to collect your information and sell it to anyone they wish.

If this was a legitimate effort to get the 19 Kids and Counting show back on television, why would that be a requirement? Does the wording of these terms sound like a simple fan wanting their show back on?

  • ’19 Kids and Counting:’ Petition Launched to Bring Duggar Family TV Show Back

19 Kids and Counting was officially cancelled by TLC last week. The network issued a statement about their decision to pull the show, as well as one stating they won’t be creating a spinoff starring members of the Duggar family. They feel the family’s name has been too badly tarnished by the Josh Duggar sexual molestation scandal to continue airing the brand.

Now an online petition has surfaced, with fans urging others to sign. Their sole purpose is to bring 19 Kids and Counting back to TV.

“TLC has announced that it has permanently cancelled 19 Kids and Counting,” the Support the Duggars petition reads. “While the Duggar family may not be perfect and they’ve had difficulties like so many other families, their show WAS one of the few clean, family-friendly shows on TV. Sadly, there isn’t much a family can watch together any longer. The airwaves are full of terrible, trashy television! It isn’t right that the Duggars must be forced off the air while the filthy shows remain!”

“We want our voices to be heard! We all know the power of standing together–just ask A&E what happened when they cancelled Duck Dynasty!” the petition continues. “It seems that every day in America our values and way of life are disappearing. We must all stand together.”

Despite this petition to try to bring back 19 Kids and Counting, it seems the Duggar family has accepted their inevitable fate. Shortly after TLC made their announcement last week, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar issued a statement of their own.

“Today, TLC announced that they will not be filming new episodes of 19 Kids and Counting.

Years ago, when we were asked to film our first one hour documentary about the logistics of raising 14 children, we felt that it was an opportunity to share with the world that children are a blessing and a gift from God.

We are so thankful for our film crew that has shown up at our house for over a decade. They have become like family to us. They have invested their time and energy into our lives and have been so loving and patient. We love and appreciate them so much!

Over the last several years people have said to us, “We love your show!” We have always responded, “It’s not a show, it’s our lives!” Our desire in opening our home to the world is to share Bible principles that are the answers for life’s problems.

With God’s grace and help Josh, our daughters and our entire family overcame a terrible situation, found healing and a way forward. We are so pleased with the wonderful adults they have all become.

It is our prayer that the painful situation our family went through many years ago can point people toward faith in God and help others who also have lived through similar dark situations to find help, hope and healing, as well.

We appreciate the love, support, prayers and kindness extended to us by many of you. You have deeply touched our hearts and encouraged us, during this time.

God’s faithfulness and goodness to us, along with His abundant grace have given us strength and joy even in the most difficult days.

We have committed to Him that in all things—difficulties or success, good times or bad—we will purpose to bring Him honor by staying true to our faith and our family.

We look forward to working with TLC on this upcoming special documentary and hope that it is an encouragement to many.

We know Who holds the future and are confident that He will work all things together for good.

We love each of you and look forward to unfolding the future with peace and joy.

    With Gratefulness,

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar family”

Do you think this petition to bring back 19 Kids and Counting will amount to anything at all? Or is it simply helping fans feel like they are doing something to show their faith in the Duggar family?

Members of the Duggar family–Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa Duggar Seewald–will reportedly appear in a TLC special on child sexual abuse. The special is set to air some time in August.

  • Duggar Family Members Jill Duggar Dillard, Jessa Duggar Seewald to Appear in TLC Child Sexual Abuse Documentary

Duggar family members Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa Duggar Seewald will reportedly be featured in an upcoming documentary on child sexual abuse produced by TLC in the wake of their cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting.

The Duggar family reality show has been off the air since May, when oldest son Josh Duggar’s sexual molestation scandal broke in the media. Josh sexually molested five underage girls–four of whom are his sisters–when he was a teenager. The fifth girl was a family babysitter at the time of the sexual molestations.

“We spent the past month and a half in thoughtful consideration about the best way forward here,” Marjorie Kaplan, who is the group president of TLC, Animal Planet and Velocity networks, said in a statement.

When announcing the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting this past week, TLC also announced they will be airing a documentary in August that will featuring two members of the Duggar family, who also happen to be two of Josh Duggar’s victims. Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa Duggar Seewald will be included in the documentary, as will the sexual abuse advocacy groups RAINN and Darkness to Light.

TLC had hoped to use members of the Duggar family in a 19 Kids and Counting spinoff, but determined that the family’s name has been so irrevocably tarnished by the Josh Duggar sexual molestation scandal that they simply couldn’t consider airing such a show.

Might the upcoming TLC documentary on child sexual abuse be the last time any members of the Duggar family appear on TV? Will Jill Duggar Dillard and Jessa Duggar Seewald draw in enough viewers that TLC might reconsider creating some sort of a show featuring one or more of the Duggar family members?

  • “19 Kids” Haters Dance In the Streets As Duggar Family Fans Mourn

When TLC made the decision to not continue airing the adventures of the Duggar family on 19 Kids and Counting, Michelle Duggar took to her blog to tell their fans the news.

“Today, TLC announced that they will not be filming new episodes of 19 Kids and Counting,” the matriarch said.

“Over the last several years people have said to us, ‘We love your show!’ We have always responded, ‘It’s not a show, it’s our lives!’ Our desire in opening our home to the world is to share Bible principles that are the answers for life’s problems.”

The scandal that has rocked the Duggar household and generated debate, discussion, and outright flame wars for weeks may finally come to a close.

“With God’s grace and help, Josh, our daughters and our entire family overcame a terrible situation, found healing and a way forward,” Michelle Duggar said of her family.

Reactions from the public have been, as expected, mixed. There are the fans, those who feel cheated out of watching the family they honestly felt did no wrong.

There are those who feel there is some justice in the decision, and those who are just plain gleeful.

  • Anna Duggar And Sister-In-Law, Jessa, Show Off Their Baby Bumps

Anna Duggar, wife of scandal-plagued Josh Duggar is expecting their fourth child, but little Duggar is late in getting here. The newest member of the big, big family was supposed to arrive on July 10.

The Duggar family posted on their official Facebook page a photo of the very pregnant Anna, 27, standing back-to-back with her also pregnant sister-in-law, Jessa. The latter is 23 weeks pregnant. Both the Duggar mothers were cradling their growing baby bumps.

The photo was posted last Sunday for every 19 Kids and Counting fan and follower to see.

“Well, sweet Anna is now past her due date!” captioned the said photo. “First time she has ever gone ‘late’ instead of early. “Here she is with our Jessa. Be praying for these girls. Pretty soon we will get to kiss the sweet face of another Duggar grandbaby!!!” Josh and Anna were married last 2008. They confirmed their fourth pregnancy in December. Four months later, they announced that the new addition is a baby girl. The family was subject to controversy in May after Josh confirmed he molested a family babysitter and four of his sisters, which included Jessa and Jill, when he was 14 years old. This resulted in TLC Network canceling the show. Josh went on a low-profile during the wake of his molestation scandal. He also quit his job with a conservative Christian lobby group in Washington, D.C and returned to his home in Arkansas. The fans of the show were quick to point out that Josh was missing from the Facebook photo for Amy Duggar’s engagement to longtime beau Dillon King.
A longtime friend of the family tells the Daily Mail “Josh and Cousin Amy are actually the closest in age and grew up together. They are close.” “If the scandal hadn't come to light I have no doubt he would have been happily posing in the group photo.”

  • Duggar Family Makes Statement After TLC’s Cancellation Of ’19 Kids And Counting’

TLC announced that they will be canceling the hit reality series 19 Kids and Counting. The network said the show “will no longer appear on the air.”

The series was centered on the devoutly Baptist Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar who have ten sons, nine daughters and six grandchildren – two of which are still unborn.

The show has been subjected to controversy since May following the shocking revelations that Josh Duggar molested five underage girls. The event shattered the family’s squeaky-clean image and let thousands of fans and followers down.

Josh confessed to groping five girls, four of them are his sisters. One of the five underage victims wass their family babysitter at that time. He was 14 years old when he committed the said molestations.

Josh, now 27, is married to Anna Duggar since 2008. Anna is carrying their fourth child whom they announced is a baby girl.

TLC insisted the show opened up a “critical and important conversation about child protection.”

The network will be partnering with the victims’ rights and advocacies groups on a “multi-platform campaign to raise awareness and educate parents and families about the issue.”

They have confirmed that they would be working with the family one last time to produce a one-hour commercial-free documentary with sisters Jessa, 22, and Jill, 24, who have come forward as victims. They also said that they have already forgiven their brother.

“We look forward to working with TLC on this upcoming special documentary and hope that it is an encouragement to many.”

The controversial family responded with their own statement. They hoped that the “painful situation” they went through would help others find “help, hope, and healing.”

“We are so thankful for our film crew that has shown up at our house for over a decade. They have become like family to us.

“They have invested their time and energy into our lives and have been so loving and patient. We love and appreciate them so much!”

  • ’19 Kids and Counting:’ TLC Officially Cancels Duggar Family Reality Show

19 Kids and Counting has been officially cancelled. TLC made the announcement via a statement on Thursday.

“After thoughtful consideration, TLC and the Duggar family have decided to not move forward with 19 Kids and Counting. The show will no longer appear on the air.

The recent attention around the Duggars has sparked a critical and important conversation about child protection.

Over these past weeks, TLC has consulted regularly with leading victims’ rights and advocacy organizations in the U.S., including RAINN and Darkness to Light, to discuss how to use this moment to address the issue and make a positive impact. Unfortunately, child sexual abuse is not an isolated issue; it affects many children and families around the world.

To that end, we are partnering with both organizations on a multi-platform campaign to raise awareness and educate parents and families about the issue. In the first phase of this initiative, TLC will work closely with both groups and with the Duggar family on a one-hour documentary that will include Jill and Jessa and other survivors and families that have been affected by abuse.

TLC has been especially concerned for the victims in this situation, including the Duggar family, and it is our hope that this effort will help those in need learn where to turn for information and help. The documentary will be commercial free, and we anticipate it will air later this summer.”

After thoughtful consideration, TLC and the Duggar family have decided to not move forward with 19 Kids and Counting….

Posted by TLC on Thursday, July 16, 2015

TLC pulled episodes of 19 Kids and Counting from the air shortly after word of the Josh Duggar sexual molestation scandal hit the media.

This statement also seems to negate rumors that there will be a 19 Kids and Counting spinoff based on Jessa Duggar Seewald and Jill Duggar Dillars. Rumor had it a show called Two Brides and Their Grooms was in the works. Jill Duggar Dillard and her husband Derick are overseas serving as missionaries, which fueled speculation a couple of weeks ago that the spinoff might not take place.

19 Kids and Counting fans are no doubt very disappointed that the show has come to an end.

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar issued a statement about the show’s cancellation.

We have committed to Him that in all things — difficulties or success, good times or bad — we will purpose to bring Him honor by staying true to our faith and our family.

How do you suppose the Duggar family is really feeling today?

Might they beholding Josh Duggar–or maybe even themselves–responsible for the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting?

  • Duggar Family: Lots Going On in the ’19 Kids and Counting’ World

The Duggar family has been front and center in the media for a while now. It hasn’t all been bad, however. Even though the Josh Duggar sexual molestation scandal cast a most unfavorable light upon the 19 Kids and Counting clan, there are still some positives to report.

Jill Duggar Dillard and her husband Derick–along with their baby boy Israel–departed a little more than a week ago to serve as missionaries overseas. Derick has served as a missionary before. It was while serving in Nepal that he met Jim Bob Duggar and later met Jill. The couple celebrated their first anniversary in June.

Jessa Duggar Seewald’s pregnancy is proceeding in a normal, healthy manner. She and Ben Seewald’s baby is due in November–on the 1st, which is also the couple’s first wedding anniversary.

Anna Duggar–Josh Duggar’s wife–hasn’t had the couple’s fourth child yet. As of Sunday she was considered overdue. Her first three babies came early, so this is something new for Anna.

While those are indeed positives for the Duggar family, there are still some things that could darken the days to come in the 19 Kids and Counting household.

TLC has yet to announce whether or not they’ll continue producing 19 Kids and Counting, and with Jill Duggar away, it’s uncertain if a spinoff of the Duggar family reality show is a consideration. The speculated spinoff was to have starred both Jill and Derick Dillard along with Jessa Duggar Seewald and her husband Ben.

Another small-scale scandal has touched the Duggar family. Jim Bob Duggar’s brother-in-law allegedly passed along genital herpes during unprotected sex with a woman several years back, and that has since resurfaced. The resurfacing not doubt comes as a result of media outlets trying to dig up dirt on the Duggar family and cause them even more shame. Many people don’t realize that Christians–even conservative Christians like the Duggar family–don’t claim to be perfect people. In fact they readily admit that they are sinners.

Jim Bob Duggar’s brother-in-law–the genital herpes spreader–is Amy Duggar’s father.

And in one last happy note for the Duggar family, Amy announced her engagement this weekend to Dillon King.

Life is certainly abuzz in the 19 Kids and Counting household–for better or for worse.

The Duggar family appear to be survivors, however. They’ll no doubt make their way through all of these events, too–the good as well as the not so good.

  • Jessa Duggar: Hubby Ben Seewald Shares Dating Tips, Issues Warning to Single Women

Jessa Duggar and her husband Ben Seewald are very involved in their church and they share their Christian faith at every opportunity.

The 19 Kids and Counting dad-to-be did just that on Sunday night via Instagram. He not only shared some advice about dating, but he issued a warning to single women.

“Ladies…watch out for dudes that want to date you, but have no intention whatsoever of any serious relationship. A lot of guys want to enjoy you and play with your heart and emotions with no commitment or responsibility on their part. They’re thinking “Why do I need to commit? I’m getting what I want…and when I get tired of her I’ll just move on to the next girl I can use.” Just be careful girls. Don’t give away your heart or your body to someone who isn’t prepared to cherish you for the long haul,” Jessa Duggar’s husband captioned a photo of a random couple.

A photo posted by Ben Seewald (@ben_seewald) on

Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald–along with the whole 19 Kids and Counting family adhere to a strict no sex before marriage policy. In addition, the Duggar family members court instead of date. They look at the process as planning for a future mate.

Jessa Duggar and her family have come under much criticism in light of Josh Duggar’s sexual molestation scandal. Many wish to discredit all of the 19 Kids and Counting family’s beliefs because of what Josh did to five underage girls when he was a teenager. Jessa Duggar and sister Jill Duggar Dillard were admittedly two of their brother’s victims.

Fortunately Jessa Duggar and her family clung to their faith in their recent time of family turmoil. Ben Seewald shared his via social media.

What’s your take on Jessa Duggar’s husband’s Instagram post?

  • ’19 Kids and Counting:’ Jim Bob Duggar’s Brother-in-Law (Amy Duggar’s Dad) Sued for Spreading Genital Herpes

The 19 Kids and Counting gang simply can’t catch a break. The Duggar family now has a new sex-related scandal to deal with in addition to Josh Duggar’s sexual molestation scandal. No, nothing new has happened, but as with the Josh Duggar situation, a long-ago mistake has come back to rear its ugly head.

The year was 1991 and the state was Arkansas. The players involved Jim Bob Duggar’s brother-in-law and a woman whose identity hasn’t been disclosed. It seems Terry Jordan–singer Amy Duggar’s dad–engaged in sexual intercourse with this woman and passed along a very unwanted gift–that of genital herpes. The woman filed suit against Jordan, claiming he not only left her with the incurable STD, but never mentioned she was at risk of contracting it from him. She suffered both outbreaks of genital herpes as well as “extreme emotional distress,” according to RadarOnline.

The woman was seeking a one million dollar settlement. The lawsuit was dismissed about a year later when the woman refused to answer medical questions attorneys for Jordan asked.

In the meantime, however, Jim Bob Duggar’s brother-in-law said he had no clue he’d been infected with genital herpes, but he also refused to take a blood test at that time.

This STD debacle was no doubt brought back out into the media to cause even more shame for the 19 Kids and Counting family. Even though Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar–as well as Jessa Duggar Seewald and Jill Duggar Dillard–went on TV to answer questions about the Josh Duggar case, it surely proved embarrassing for all involved.

Some people want the 19 Kids and Counting family to disappear, and they hope TLC cancels 19 Kids and Counting as a result of the Josh Duggar sexual molestation scandal. Do you think those same folks are hoping that this latest STD scandal will weigh on TLC as they make their decision?

It wouldn’t seem as though the 19 Kids and Counting gang could be blamed for something Jim Bob Duggar’s brother-in-law–who was an adult at the time–did 24 years ago.

Do you think the Duggar family will wind up paying for this scandal?

  • Josh Duggar: Has Wife Anna Had Their Baby Yet?

Josh Duggar and wife Anna Duggar are expecting their fourth child, and Anna is now considered overdue for giving birth to their baby.

The disgraced 19 Kids and Counting star moved his wife and family back to Arkansas after resigning from his job with the Family Research Council in Washington, D.C. after word of his sexual molestation scandal made news.

Anna and Josh Duggar are already parents to one daughter–Mackynzie is five–and two sons–Michael and Marcus are four and two, respectively. This overdue baby is a girl, so things will soon be even in this Duggar household.

Anna Duggar posed for a picture over weekend with sister-in-law Jessa Duggar Seewald. In it the two ladies compare the sizes of their bellies, with Anna’s being significantly larger than Jessa’s. Jessa and Ben aren’t due until November with their first bundle of joy.

It’s uncertain what Josh Duggar is doing for work these days. Might Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar be supporting Josh and Anna and their children?

The 19 Kids and Counting family has a lot to contend with right now following Josh Duggar’s sexual molestation scandal resurfacing, two pregnancies in the family, and Jill Duggar Dillard and her husband and son leaving the country to serve as missionaries.

Josh Duggar and wife Anna will soon welcome a new member of their family. How sad that their baby will be born surrounded by the scorn of so many.

Did Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar do Josh Duggar a big disservice by trying to keep his sexual molestations quiet all those years ago? Had they been handled differently, might Josh and Anna Duggar–as well as the entire 19 Kids and Counting family–not have this scandal hanging over their heads now?
