  • Creflo Dollar Denies Attacking His Teenage Daughter

Creflo Dollar, the controversial pastor of World Changers Church International who was arrested last Friday for allegedly striking and choking his daughter, proclaimed his innocence at his church service on Sunday. Dollar was met with a standing ovation from his congregation, and he wasted absolutely no time in setting the record straight.

“I will say this emphatically: I should have never been arrested,” Dollar explained. “I want you all to hear personally from me that all is well in the Dollar household.”

The pastor, who also heads up Creflo Dollar Ministries, allegedly charged, choked, and tossed his daughter to the floor during an argument that soon turned violent. The teenager called police after her father “took his shoe off and started whooping her with it,” according to deputy reports. Dollar was charged with simple battery and cruelty to children.

Following his arrest, Dollar issued a statement through his attorney, stating, “As a father I love my children and I always have their best interest at heart at all times, and I would never use my hand to ever cause bodily harm to my children. The facts in this case will be handled privately to further protect my children. My family thanks you for your prayers and continued support.”

On Sunday, Creflo took the opportunity to address his congregation at-length about the allegations. “The truth is that a family conversation with our youngest daughter got emotional. And emotions got involved and things escalated from there,” he said. “The truth is she was not choked, she was not punched. There were not any scratches on her neck. But the only thing on her neck was a prior skin abrasion from eczema. Anything else is exaggeration and sensationalism.”

Dollar is the pastor of a “megachurch”, which is defined by having more than 2,000 in attendance every week. World Changers Church International claims to have 30,000 members and nearly 6,000 weekly worshipers, most of whom have supported their pastor through this ordeal.

  • Creflo Dollar, Megachurch Pastor, Arrested for Domestic Violence

Creflo Dollar, pastor of World Changers Church International in Atlanta, Georgia and head of Creflo Dollar Ministries, was arrested Friday morning on charges of domestic violence. The Associated Press reports that an argument between Dollar and his daughter soon became physical, causing the teenager “superficial injuries”. Creflo was charged with simple battery and cruelty to children, both of which are misdemeanors. He was released on bond, and is expected to preach this Sunday.

The 15 year-old reportedly told investigators that her father charged and choked her after following her into the kitchen. Deputy reports stated that the Dollar “slammed her to the ground and began punching her and took his shoe off and started whooping her with it.” The pastor claims he was only trying to “spank” her.

In a statement issued by his lawyer, Dollar explained, “As a father I love my children and I always have their best interest at heart at all times, and I would never use my hand to ever cause bodily harm to my children. The facts in this case will be handled privately to further protect my children. My family thanks you for your prayers and continued support.”

World Changers Church International is considered a “megachurch”, which, by definition is “a church having 2,000 or more in average weekend attendance”. According to World Changers’ official website, Dollar’s ministry sports 30,000 members and nearly 6,000 weekly worshipers. The pastor himself has often been the center of controversy, drawing criticisms from many for his extravagance and his philosophy that prosperity is good.

  • Scott Hall Arrested For Choking Girlfriend, Denies Violence

Pro wrestler Scott Hall was arrested on Friday for domestic violence after police were called to his Florida home. When they arrived, Hall’s girlfriend, Lisa Howell, said he had been on a several-day drinking binge and that the two of them had been arguing. When she tried to leave, Hall grabbed her by the neck and attempted to pull her from the car seat. After officers verified that Howell had red marks on her neck–and that Hall was heavily intoxicated–they took the wrestler into custody and booked him.

Howell refused to press charges, however, and the story is getting a little murky. Now Hall is denying that he harmed her after the news of his arrest broke this week. Hall’s lawyer, Loredana Nesci, said there was no violence involved in their dispute despite what the police report says.

“The police arrested Mr. Hall against the wishes of Ms. Howell, who insisted that the argument did not result in violence,” said Nesci. “Ms. Howell claims that there was no physical abuse.”

  • Scott Hall Arrest: Drugs, Alcohol Played Part In Domestic Violence

Professional wrestler Scott Hall, who was known in the ’90s as the villainous character Razor Ramon, was arrested on Friday after police were called to his Florida home on a domestic dispute call. His girlfriend, Lisa Howell, said Scott had been on a drinking binge for days and the two had an argument that escalated. She tried to leave, but the 6’7″ wrestler pulled her from her car by the throat. He was arrested after police found marks on Howell’s neck, but because he was so intoxicated he had to be taken to a local hospital to be checked out before police could book him.

Hall has had run-ins with the law before, and drugs and alcohol have been an issue for him for years. Unfortunately, this incident led to someone being hurt. Howell has so far refused to press charges.

WWE vice president of operations Stephanie McMahon says the company has spent thousands of dollars in an effort to get Hall clean, the most they have ever spent on anyone.

Hall built a career in a time when drugs and excess were the norm in the industry. More than that, wrestling in those days was about taking absurd risks with the body, jumping off the top rope without a thought to what it might do to the joints later in life, bashing against the turnbuckle in a way that made wrestling look easy but which really took a toll on the guys who did it. It was a true balls-to-the-wall spectacle, and the industry saw a huge boom in popularity in the early ’90s because of the wild attitude surrounding it.

Because of the soap-opera like dramatics that go along with it, wrestling is often not viewed as a “real” sport, but those who participate sacrifice their bodies in more ways than one; along with the residual pain that comes from taking hits every day comes the need to dull those aching bones, the inflamed joints. Drugs and alcohol become a way to go on with the show.

    Unfortunately, that also means dependence.

“I tell my kids this, ‘I can’t tell you not to drink and do drugs, they are fun. It’s fun. They work,’” Hall said in an interview with ESPN. “But what sucks is when you want to quit and you can’t, and pretty soon you alienate or you hurt everyone around you. It’s a family disease and then you can’t keep a promise to anybody. What sucks the most is when you can’t even keep a promise to yourself.”

While wrestling is still a dangerous occupation, the new generation of athletes aren’t quite so eager to put their bodies in the way of careless harm. Wrestling superstar Terry Bollea–or Hulk Hogan to most of you–says the attitude has definitely changed.

“Wrestlers have been more educated, more up to speed,” said Hogan. “I mean before, back in the day, you’d have the match at Madison Square Garden, the Boston Garden, all the wrestlers would see each other down at the Marriott bar. Nowadays, all the guys go up and they go to the room and play video games, or go on their computer.”

Hall, who was the subject of a brief documentary on ESPN last year, has been compared to Mickey Rourke’s character–Randy “The Ram” Robinson–in the 2008 film “The Wrestler“, and it’s true there is a striking similarity there. The hope is that Hall won’t come to the same fate Randy did.

  • Google Executive’s Brother Accused of Brutalizing his Girlfriend

Women’s groups are reporting dramatic increases in domestic abuse across the country; the increase is thought to be correlated with the rise in economic stress. When money gets tight couples tend to argue as they feel more strain and fear about their future.

More cases of domestic violence occur around the holidays. Greater access to technology is also thought to be a factor in DV because it is easier for partners to screen communication:

But domestic violence is also committed by affluent and well connected individuals. We reported earlier that Hugh Hefner’s son, Marston, allegedly beat his Playmate girlfriend and that Jaleel White’s ex-girlfriend is claiming that he pushed her around.

Now a top Google executive’s brother has found himself in a similar predicament. Marissa Mayer’s brother, Mason, is accused of three felonies- assault, false imprisonment, and domestic violence after he allegedly brutalized his girlfriend after they left a social engagement in San Francisco.

The details of the alleged attack paint a fairly horrific picture: According to a police affidavit Mason went ape s&*% on his girlfriend, Kelly Ann Trent, and slammed her head on the ground, pulled her hair, ripped out her eyelashes, and spit on her while she tried to shield herself from his blows on the ground.

If you or someone you know is unsure about whether or not they are in an abusive relationship here are some signs and symptoms to consider:

Are you fearful of your partner a large percentage of the time?

Do you avoid certain topics or spend a lot of time figuring out how to talk about certain topics so that you do not arouse your partner’s negative reaction or anger?

  • Do you ever feel that you can’t do anything right for your partner?

Do you ever feel so badly about yourself that you think you deserve to be physically hurt?

Have you lost the love and respect that you once had for your partner?

Do you sometimes wonder if you are the one who is crazy, that maybe you are overreacting to your partner’s behaviors?

Do you sometimes fantasize about ways to kill your partner to get them out of your life?

Are you afraid that your partner may try to kill you?

Are you afraid that your partner will try to take your children away from you?

Do you feel that there is nowhere to turn for help?

    Are you feeling emotionally numb?

Were you abused as a child, or did you grow up with domestic violence in the household?

Does domestic violence seem normal to you?

If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence you can get help here.

  • Hugh Hefner’s Son Pled Guilty to Harming Playmate of the Year

Hugh Hefner’s 21-year-old son, Marston, pled no contest to a charge of domestic violence. Apparently he got into an altercation with his playmate girlfriend Claire Sinclair.

Marston supposedly punched Claire, kicked her in the stomach, and wouldn’t let her leave their home.

According to Pasadena assistant city prosecutor, Chris Blankenhorn, Marston is scheduled to be sentenced on June 12 in Pasadena after entering his plea on Tuesday to the charge of corporal injury to a cohabitant.

Hefner is expected to receive no jail time. Instead, he will have to pay for and attend one year of domestic violence counseling and refrain from any contact with Sinclair for three years.

Claire had some bruising shortly after the incident that was rumored to be a result of the altercation.

Claire was named the 2011 “Playmate of the Year.”

Hugh Hefner told Fox News that Claire’s style reminded him of Bettie Page, a popular 1950s pinup model who was also Playboy Magazine’s Miss January cover model in 1955.

In the following YouTube video Claire said her relationship with Marston was going well, “But said it was very tumultuous, to be honest — we’re very good friends when it comes down to it. I am blessed to have someone who is so supportive.

She may have even implied that Marston was very possessive, “Marston travels out to see me no matter what I am doing.”

When she was asked if wedding bells were in the future she said, “Hell No! Hell No!”

The couple have been dating off and on since 2010.

During an interview with Maximo TV in November, Claire dominated Marston and hardly let him answer questions from the reporter.

Claire said she wouldn’t press charges on her boyfriend if he apologized publicly and received psychiatric treatment.

Hopefully Claire will move on from this unfortunate experience and have a safe and wonderful life.

  • Hugh Hefner’s Son Pleads No Contest To Domestic Violence Charge

Hugh Hefner, the infamous founder of Playboy magazine, is in headlines today after his 21-year old son Marston pleaded no contest to charges of domestic violence filed by his girlfriend, Playmate Claire Sinclair.

Sentencing will be on June 12 and will likely include at least one year of domestic abuse counseling and a court order to stay away from Sinclair for three years. Sinclair, who was Playmate of the year in 2011, says Marston kicked and punched her during an argument. Marston reportedly told police that the two of them had argued, but it never got physical. He was eventually arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence and was later released on $20,000 bail.

After the model filed an emergency restraining order against her boyfriend in February, she was photographed while removing her belongings from the apartment they shared sporting a large bruise on her upper arm.
