In a statement issued to People magazine, Ryan Seacret shared what the show has meant to him.

American Idol has been a big part of my life for so long, it’s frankly hard to imagine it without it,” the statement reads. “It’s been a remarkable journey, and I feel very fortunate to have been part of a show that made television history in countless ways.”

He then talked about the impact American Idol has made on his career.

“It’s a show about chasing and fulfilling dreams, and truth be told, it helped some of my own dreams come true, too,” Ryan Seacrest said.

  • Jenny McCarthy, Ryan Seacrest See Nude People on New Year’s Eve

Jenny McCarthy and Ryan Seacrest will once again host Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve tonight from Times Square in the tradition of the late, great Dick Clark. Seacrest will preside over the actual countdown to the ball drop in Times Square, while Jenny McCarthy will chat with people on the ground from all around the packed streets.

Billboard magazine caught up with the pair earlier this week, and asked them what is the strangest sight they’ve ever witnessed on New Year’s Eve. Both immediately agreed it was nude people.

“Usually the naked people,” Jenny McCarthy answered.

“Naked people are always crazy, especially when it’s zero degrees,” Ryan Seacrest added.

“And you know that they’re not drinking, because you can’t really drink out there. So, they’re being nuts sober!” McCarthy said.

“They’re having much more fun in real life,” Seacrest said.

Can you imagine being naked and running around in the freezing cold weather that typically graces New York City on New Year’s Eve? To many, just standing out there in a warm jacket, mittens, and a hat seems insane. Once again this year the temperature is plummeting. Even though the actual temperature reading may be in the 20s, the wind chill is expected to hit the very low teens. That’s cold enough for certain body parts to very quickly become frostbitten if not covered up quickly–just a warning for anyone thinking of running around naked tonight in Times Square.

If you do opt to remove your clothes and take a jaunt through Times Square, at least catch some of the amazing acts that will be on hand. Taylor Swift, Florida Georgia Line, and Idina Menzel will all be performing in New York. If you’re naked in California, it won’t be quite so bad. You’ll get to see One Direction, Iggy Azalea, Meghan Trainor and Charli XCX. And you won’t freeze off any of your body parts.

Will you be checking out Jenny McCarthy and Ryan Seacrest tonight as we bid adieu to 2014?

  • Jenny McCarthy Set For ‘New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’

Jenny McCarthy and Ryan Seacrest are getting ready to celebrate New Year’s Eve as part of ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, which will begin at 8 pm. EST. McCarthy and Seacrest recently shared with E! a taste of what viewers can expect to see tonight. “We have Miley Cyrus on the show so in salute to women who do kind of crazy antics, why not be a little crazy this year,” the blonde co-host of The View said. Seacrest was quick to add, “Insanity, craziness. Just give her a camera and a live mic and you definitely want to stick around and watch.”

In an interview with Billboard, Seacrest explained the allure of New Year’s Eve. “In a world where people are on different pages all the time, this is the one moment where you feel like everybody’s on the same page,” he said. McCarthy chimed in, “Unless you’re at home living with cats.”

Though the process flows effortlessly to the appearance of viewers, both hosts gave insight into a hectic and exhausting day, albeit one that is still enjoyable. According to Ryan Seacrest, “Today we’re up to talk to people on television early. Then we’re gonna go up to the top (of One Times Square) where the 77-foot flagpole is to actually make sure that the ball is there. This afternoon we run through the show, where we’re gonna be, where we’re gonna stand, who’s performing where, what stage they’ll be on, the technical aspects of it.”

“It’s a good 15-hour day,” McCarthy said before adding, “but we will get cuddle time in. We’ll spend two hours spooning, warming back up.”
