Cheating Note: Man Rats Out Pregnant Girl Texting Secret Lover at Football Game

A Detroit Lions fan claims that he caught a pregnant woman sitting in front of him at a game recently texting another man while her husband sat there unaware. Rather than mind his own business, the man slipped the unsuspecting hubby a note.

The man, who calls himself “Lye” posted to his Facebook account later that day about the incident.

“I was at the Detroit Lions game today when I noticed this woman who looked eight months pregnant in a seat in front of me texting a man messages like ‘I wish I was with you all day’ and ‘I will see you as soon as I’m done with him’.

“She kept hiding her phone every time her partner put his arm around her or reached in to talk to her.

“So being the man that I am I couldn’t help it…I had to write him a little note.”

He included a snapshot he had taken over the woman’s shoulder, as well as a picture of the note he handed to the other man. The note read:

    “Hey bro,

“I don’t know you & you don’t know me. When you get home check your girl’s phone.

“She’s been texting “Jason” saying she wishes she was with him all day!

“Take care, wish you the best,

    “Happy Thanksgiving & #Chive ON!’”

Some have theorized that his “#Chive ON” sign-off may indicate that the whole thing is a hoax, or perhaps even a marketing ply by Chive.

When the story hit Reddit, commenters were of more than one mind about what “Lye” may have stirred up.

“This man potentially spared another man a life of cuckold misery. Props to him.”

“Girl gets beat up on a regular basis by her husband. He swaps her birth control so she gets pregnant and can’t leave him. She meets Jason at Church and they plan to get her away from there, after the ball game when her husband is done beating her up drunk, and falls asleep. Plan is sabotaged by this a-hole, and when she gets home it’s all the excuse he needs to kill her.”

  • Pontiac Silverdome Memorabilia to be Auctioned Off

Pieces of the former home of the Detroit Lions will soon be auctioned off, as renovations of the Pontiac Silverdome get underway. Fans will have the opportunity to own seats, signs and even stadium urinals, by way of an auction being handled by Plymouth, Michigan-based RJM Auctions. The auction will be held between May 12-16, and a pre-auction is offering seats for sale, starting at $100 a pop.

The Silverdome held 80,000 seats, and RJM Auctions facilities manager Jim Passeno has stated that every seat will be sold, pending buyer interest.

The Silverdome opened in 1975, and is located in Pontiac, and spans 127 acres. It was once the largest stadium in the National Football League until FedEx Field in Washington, D.C. opened in 1997. The Silverdome hosted the Detroit Lions of the NFL (1975–2001), the Detroit Pistons of the NBA (1978–1988) and four first-round games during the 1994 FIFA World Cup.

During a winter storm, the dome was permanently damaged, as seen here:

The Silverdome is presently owned by Triple Investment Group, and renovations plan for a permanent, self-supporting roof which includes solar panels.

Potential buyers can order clusters of seats at the RJM Auction site here. One can have 4 adjoining Silverdome seats for $385, and for an extra $25, a certificate of authenticity would be included. The scoreboard will also be up for auction.

    Silverdome intrigue via Twitter:

During its heyday, the Silverdome hosted Elvis, Led Zeppelin, Pope John Paul II, The Who, Pink Floyd and the Jackson 5. On March 29, 1987, the World Wrestling Federation’s WrestleMania III set the record attendance of 93,173, the largest recorded crowd for a live indoor sporting event in the U.S.

  • Mike Zimmer Hired As Coach Of Minnesota Vikings

The NFL teams that struggled over the 2013 season continue to search for new coaches, and the Minnesota Vikings have already found someone to lead their team in 2014.

The Vikings struggled throughout the past season, and finished in last place in the NFC North, with a record of 5-10-1.

Whether they will be able to improve at all in 2014 is unclear, but they could be on the right track after hiring Mike Zimmer as their new head coach.

It can be hard for any team to start the rebuilding stage, and the Minnesota Vikings are certainly in need of rebuilding with Adrian Peterson being virtually their only strength on offense.

Another team in the NFC North, the Detroit Lions, also hired a new coach yesterday with Jim Caldwell, who was currently serving as the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens.

Unlike the Vikings, the Lions have several talented players, but were unable to work with the current staff, and as a result, Jim Schwartz was fired after being put on the hot seat.

In other NFL coaching news, Ken Whisenhunt was also hired as the coach of the Tennessee Titans yesterday, preventing the Lions from continuing to pursue him, and hire Caldwell instead.

If anyone is able to turn around the Vikings franchise, and get them to be a powerhouse in the NFC again, then Mike Zimmer might be the guy to do it. He is a longtime defensive coordinator for the Cinncinatti Bengals, and is also one of the more respected assistants in the NFL.

Zimmer will replace Leslie Frazier, who led the Vikings to another disappointing season, and what the Vikings truly need is a franchise quarterback who is able to lead them. Frazier was fired along with Jim Schwartz and a handful of other coaches during the black Monday firings.

Mike Zimmer is also the son of Bill Zimmer, a former defensive assistant with the Kansas City Chiefs. Before joining the Bengals, he had led the defense of the Dallas Cowboys from 2000 through 2006 after spending 1994 through 1999 as the team’s defensive backs coach.

As coach of the Minnesota Vikings, Mike Zimmer will be forced to rebuild the team on both sides of the ball, and work to recruit a quarterback that the team can trust in a division, and league that is continually relying on the quarterback to control the team.

Coming in as a defensive coordinator, he will also need to improve the defense of the Vikings, after being the defense that gave up more points than other team in the NFL last season.

  • Jim Caldwell Hired As Detroit Lions Head Coach

It’s official! Jim Caldwell will replace the fired coach Jim Schwartz as the new head coach of the Detroit Lions.

“On behalf on my entire family, I want to express how thrilled we are with the appointment of Jim Caldwell as our new head coach,” Lions owner William Clay Ford said in a statement. “We believe Jim is the right man to lead our team and deliver a championship to our fans.”

“I also want to commend Tom (Lewand) and Martin (Mayhew) on the thoroughness of the coaching search,” Ford continued. “We had a very specific plan and profile for our next head coach, and I am convinced that we found that man in Jim Caldwell.”

Endorsing Caldwell as the new head coach was Tony Dungy. “Martin called me and said we’re looking for a leader who can help turn our locker room into a winning one and to help us get the most out of our investment in Matthew Stafford,” Dungy revealed in a telephone interview with The Associated Press.

“I told Martin that Jim Caldwell is exactly what you’re looking for,” he continued. “He’ll lead by making people accountable and by being a role model on and off the field. And with his attention to detail and history of developing quarterbacks, Stafford is going to flourish just like Peyton Manning did with us in Indianapolis.”

Caldwell will serve as the first black coach to coach the Lions. John Wooten, the chairman of the Fritz Pollard Alliance, which promotes diversity in the hiring of NFL coaches, was extremely supportive of the move.

“To be openly frank, we felt that he should be the guy,” Wooten said. “We really wanted him in that particular team. Thought it was an excellent fit. Our overall reaction was probably very similar to what we felt when President (Barack) Obama was elected six years ago, when the Virginia vote came in,” he continued. “That’s how we felt. We felt that strongly about it. Great move for us.”

  • Detroit Lions Name Jim Caldwell As New Head Coach

After an intense quest for a new coach in Detroit, the Detroit Lions have found their replacement for Jim Schwartz with Jim Caldwell. Caldwell has most recently been serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Baltimore Ravens.

The Lions came into the 2013 season with high hopes, and did well for much of the season, but their season came crumbling down as the fans in Detroit have become used to experiencing. The Lions started the season 6-3, and somehow fell to 7-9 by the end of the season.

Detroit has been in a slump for a long time, and while Jim Schwartz helped them improve some over the past few years, they have not been able to advance in the playoffs.

With the stars on their team, they may have what it takes to become one of the top teams in the league, and it could be something that could be achievable in the 2014 season with Jim Caldwell as their new coach.

Jim Schwartz was fired along with several other coaches during the black Monday firings, but weeks before that, he was already in the hot seat after losing several games following an impressive start.

Love Smith was considered, but he was hired as the coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers soon after that, and after becoming the top candidate for the coaching job in Detroit, Ken Whisenhunt decided to take the job as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans.

William Clay Ford, the owner and chairman of the Detroit Lions, said of the decision to hire Jim Caldwell, “We believe Jim is the right man to lead our team and deliver a championship to our fans.”

As recently as earlier today, the Detroit Lions were still in the hunt for a new coach.

There were all sorts of possibilities, and they had already interviewed a handful of options, but they ended up going with Jim Caldwell, who was actually the first person that their staff interviewed first.

The Detroit Lions fell to third place in the NFC North by the end of the 2013 season, and with a new coach, they will look to improve that in 2014. With the appointment of Jim Caldwell, they are hiring a coach who achieved a record of 26-22 in three seasons after replacing Tony Dungy in Indianapolis.

In addition to Jim Caldwell, former Texans coach Gary Kubiak, former Titans coach Mike Munchak and former Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt all. interviewed for the position.

Does Jim Caldwell have what it takes to finally lead to the Detroit Lions to become champions of the NFC North, and earn a trip to the playoffs?

  • Detroit Lions Head Coach Hire Highlights Google’s Struggle With Real Time

Once again, Google is showing that its Knowledge Graph does not update fast enough.

During the World Series last fall, somebody vandalized the Wikipedia page for the St. Louis Cardinals, calling them a “gay butt sex team”. Wikipedia was quick to address the issue, but this remained in Google’s Knowledge Graph for hours.

Today, news broke that the Detroit Lions hired former Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell as their new head coach. This happened a few hours ago, and Wikipedia has reflected his change of jobs for a while now, but the Knowledge Graph has yet to update. It’s still listing him as the Ravens offensive coordinator.

    Jim Caldwell on Detroit Lions

Now, I’m sure it will update before too long, and nobody’s going to be overly offended that Google is taking a bit to update this info. It isn’t exactly erroneous (as it sometimes is). It’s just slightly outdated at this point (though not nearly as outdated as the images Google chooses to display).

But that’s kind of the point. Google, the dominant search engine on the web by far, really needs to be better at real time. Unfortunately, it’s significantly worse than it was a few years ago, since losing the Twitter firehose, which it’s never been able to make up for.

Sure, Google shows news results for Caldwell showing that he’s now the Lions’ coach. If you search for him, you’ll probably figure it out. But what about those cases that don’t show news results – that don’t make a bunch of headlines. How do we ever know that the Knowledge Graph is up to date at a glance? The reality is that you can’t completely trust it. Not even as much as Wikipedia, which is far speedier in its own updates.

Interestingly enough, the fourth result on a search for “jim caldwell” is a link to NFL.com for his profile as the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, which is obviously even more outdated than his job in Baltimore. That’s the fourth best result Google can come up with for Jim Caldwell? And as freshness has become a higher priority than ever in recent years?

If I were taking the “Bing It On Challenge,” I’d have to give the edge to Bing on this one.

  • Ken Whisenhunt Hired As Coach Of Tennessee Titans

On the hunt for head coaches, several teams have been interviewing with, and hiring new personnel to their team.

Ken Whisenhunt was in high demand as the offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers, and the Titans were the more aggressive team, being able to snag him before the Detroit Lions could get to him.

The Detroit Lions have been on a serious hunt for their head coach ever since firing Jim Schwartz at the end of their less than stellar season.

The Tennessee Titans hired Ken Whisenhunt while the Lions were in hot pursuit of him, in a smart move that prevented him from getting an interview with the Lions.

The Titans have also struggled as of recently, and could use even more rebuilding than the Lions, who at least have a roster of strong players, but continue to be unable to win.

After the brutal black Monday firings that saw a handful of coaches lose their jobs, a number of teams are already thinking about next season, and trying to get the best coach available.

The Lions are still on the hunt for a new head coach, but Jim Caldwell seems to be the top candidate, and has even come with a strong recommendation from Tony Dungy, who Caldwell spent years coaching under, before becoming the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.

Ken Whisenhunt was becoming the top candidate for the Lions, but both sides were beginning to wonder if he was the right fit since Whisenhunt is used to working with a 3-4 defense, and many of the players on the Lions have been drafted to play in the 4-3 scheme.

The Tennessee Titans announced the news on Monday, and those in Tennessee are excited over the news of their new coach. Tommy Smith, the CEO and president of the Tennessee Titans spoke highly of the new situation when saying “This is a big day for this franchise. Ken is a well-respected coach in this league and I am looking forward to seeing his vision become reality for this team.”

Ken Whisenhunt finished his duties as the offensive coordinator for the San Diego Chargers when his team suffered a loss to the Denver Broncos, who have moved on to play the New England Patriots in the AFC Conference Championship.

Whisenhunt has previous head coaching experience as the coach of the Arizona Cardinals, when he went 45-51, but led the team to their only Super Bowl.

At the age of 51, Ken Whisenhunt will look to take another shot at being a head coach, and hope to improve the Tennessee Titans franchise. The Titans are likely to need some help in the NFL draft as well, as they do not currently have a franchise player on offense that they can turn to in order to be a leader.

  • Detroit Lions Are On The Hunt For New Coach, Who Wants The Job?

The Detroit Lions have been on the search for a new coach ever since their terrible season ended recently. The Lions have a solid team, but simply need someone better in charge that can lead them.

The position should be a desirable one since most people would argue that the Lions had the best chance of making the playoffs when compared to the other teams that did not make it.

Working with one of the top quarterbacks, Matthew Stafford, and arguably the best receiver in the league, Calvin Johnson, the Detroit Lions are likely to have a succesful season again next year as long as they can get an experienced coach who can guide them well.

The Lions fired Jim Schwartz during the series of black Monday firings that also saw several other NFL coaches lose their jobs, forcing teams to go on the hunt for new coaches.

While the Lions started the season 6-3, they finished with a disappointing record of 7-9, which immediately put Jim Schwartz in the hot seat, and Detroit fans continue to scratch their heads after more disappointment.

Some teams have already found new coaches with Lovie Smith being hired as the coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, someone who the Lions had looked at briefly due to their familiarity with his style when he was at Chicago.

After that, they were seriously considering Ken Whisenhunt, who is the offensive coordinator of the San Diego Chargers, but they lost out on that opportunity when he was hired as the head coach of the Tennessee Titans.

The next most likely candidate, and the first person to actually interview with the Detroit Lions after Jim Schwartz was fired, is Jim Caldwell. Caldwell is currently the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens, another team that was predicted to go to the playoffs after winning the Super Bowl, but did not make it.

Jim Caldwell has previously been the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts, and before that coached under Tony Dungy as an assistant. Dungy was also briefly considered, but was not willing to come out of retirement.

As a result, he spoke highly of Jim Caldwell and what he thought he could do for the Detroit Lions when saying “I think the Lions were not only impressed with Jim’s interview but they were pleasantly surprised by the number of former Colts players who called on his behalf. Jim made Peyton Manning an even better quarterback — look at the numbers and wins — and I think he can do the same for Matthew Stafford.”

If Jim Caldwell is hired as the next coach of the Detroit Lions, it could mean good things for Detroit, and for the development of Matthew Stafford. The Lions team is filled with stars, and with a bit of help, they are capable of making a deep run in the playoffs.

  • Ken Whisenhunt Head Coach Interview With The Tennessee Titans Confirmed

Lately, there’s been lots of chatter in the NFL about San Diego Chargers’ Offensive Coordinator Ken Whisenhunt. Although he’s been working hard to prepare the Chargers for today’s playoff game, he’s obviously had other obligations on his agenda.

According to LA Times, on Saturday Jan. 11, it was confirmed that Whisenhunt had interviewed with the Tennessee Titans for their head coaching position.

Some NFL enthusiast might argue whether Whisenhunt is the best candidate for the position, given his topsy-turvy six seasons as head coach of the Arizona Cardinals.

His overall head coaching record of 45-51 with the Cardinals wasn’t the best, but he did manage to lead the team to their first Super Bowl in franchise history.

Even his following season with the Cardinals was quite impressive, as they finished the season off with 10 wins. Unfortunately, the walls slowly came crashing down when the team took a nosedive, with three straight non-playoff seasons.

Whisenhunt only managed to win 5 out of 11 games in both of his last two seasons as head coach. But, nevertheless, having competed in a Super Bowl does speak volumes. His work with the Chargers this season also helped to revitalize his candidacy. Whisenhunt’s coaching expertise was a vital component for the substantial improvement of the Chargers, who ranked No. 5 in the league this season. The impressive feat is exactly why the interviews didn’t stop with Tennessee.

It was also reported that Whisenhunt met with another NFL franchise – the Detroit Lions. On Thursday Jan. 9, a number of media outlets have reported that he traveled to Detroit for the interview, and that he’ll also be meeting with the Cleveland Browns this coming Saturday. However, he’s not divulging any information about plans for next season. He’s only focused on the present.

“The only thing that’s important to me, to be perfectly honest with you, is getting prepared for this game and that’s the work that has got my focus right now,” Whisenhunt said to Detroit Free Press. “Everything else is secondary.”

So football fans will have to just wait and see what the end result will be.

  • Black Monday Firings: Several NFL Coaches Lost Their Job Today

After unfavorable results at the end of the season, several NFL head coaches have been fired from their jobs. At the end of the season, some teams move on to the post-season, and others have the unfortunate task of having to think about next season.

In an event that has become known as the black Monday firings, each of the coaches that had been sitting in the hot seat recently found out if they would be keeping their jobs or not, and some teams will be looking at a new coaching staff in 2014.

During the black Monday firings, a handful of coaches lost their jobs, and other teams who struggled throughout the year were able to retain their coach, which may surprise some people.

It hit hard for a couple of teams that made the playoffs last year, and were kept out this year with embarrassing results. These teams of course were the Washington Redskins and the Detroit Lions, who fired Mike Shanahan and Jim Schwartz today, respectively.

The fate of Jim Schwartz was discussed recently after the Lions continued to struggle. If there was any year for the Lions to win the NFC North, this was certainly the year, and they were not able to get it done, losing Jim Schwartz as a result.

They were recently knocked out of the playoffs despite a strong start. After starting the season 6-3, the Lions fell apart, and ended their 2013 with a record of 7-9.

Of all of the teams to fire their coaches, the Lions had the best chances of making the playoffs, and with Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson, they clearly have the talent to become a great team with the right coach.

Mike Shanahan led the Washington Redskins to the playoffs last season, but this season was much different. While Robert Griffin III did not play the way he did last year after getting injured in the playoffs, the team continued to struggle, and finished with a record of 3-13.

In addition to Mike Shanahan and Jim Schwartz, the black Monday firings included Greg Schiano of the Tampa Bay Bucaneers, Leslie Frazier of the Minnesota Vikings, and Rob Chudzinski of the Cleveland Browns.

Unfortunately, for some of these coaches, they hardly got a chance to help the teams that they were fired from, and while the teams started out badly, they cannot be expected to improve immediately. Rob Chudzinski, for example, was in his first season as the coach of the Browns, and it has been several seasons since the Cleveland Browns have had any success in the NFL.

In addition to the firing of Greg Schiano, coach of the Buccaneers, the organization also fired their GM, Mark Dominik. After another upsetting season for Tampa Bay, the team will look to completely rebuild, and hope to improve next year.

Weeks before all of the black Monday firings happened, the Houston Texans were in such a bad place that they were forced to fire Gary Kubiak before the season had ended. While the Texans started the season with high expectations, and hopes of winning the Super Bowl, they quickly became one of the worst teams in the league and finished the season with a record of 2-14.

After a series of black Monday firings, several teams in the NFL will be looking for a new coach shortly, and hope that the replacement will be better than what each team had before.

  • Adrian Peterson Will Sit Out During Final Game Of Season

As someone who is no stranger to injuries, Adrian Peterson has missed a number of games throughout his career. He will be forced to sit out during the final game of the season when the Minnesota Vikings play the Detroit Lions.

Unfortunately, neither team has anything to play for in the week 17 finale showdown in the NFC North. The Detroit Lions are now 7-8 after starting the season on top of the division and a record of 6-3 earlier in the year, while the Vikings have a record of 4-10-1, and have remained at the bottom of the standings throughout the season.

Adrian Peterson has been one of the top running backs in the league in the past few years, despite his multiple injuries, and has been named MVP.

However, with a star running back and not much else to work with on the offensive end for the Vikings, they have struggled to win during the 2013 season.

Peterson is being troubled in multiple places, which will force him to sit out, including a strained groin that he suffered last week against the Cincinnati Bengals, and a foot injury that he suffered earlier this month.

Vikings Coach Leslie Frazier has said that if the coaching staff felt like he was ready, then he would be out there, but he is not in the right shape to be playing. Just two weeks ago, he played in a game against the Eagles, finishing with an odd stat line, rushing 30 different times for only 51 yards, and scoring 3 touchdowns.

Adrian Peterson seemed to start the season off on a high note, with an impressive performance against the Detroit Lions earlier in the season, despite the loss.

He had also stated that he had a goal of hitting the mark of 2,500 yards on the season, a mark that he did not even come close to. The awful record for the Minnesota Vikings, as one of the worst teams in the league, is yet another disappointment in Peterson’s season.

He has continually battled multiple injuries during the season, which has limited his production on the field. In the 2013 season, he has rushed for 1,266 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on 279 carries.

While this may seem like a lot for some running backs in the league, it is actually his second-lowest yardage total of Peterson’s career, behind only his injury-plagued 2011 campaign. Hoewever, he was still voted to the Pro Bowl somehow.

In addtion to Adrian Peterson, their star running back, Toby Gerhart will also be sidelined during their final game of the season. As a result, fans will see Matt Asiata take the field on Sunday against the Lions, in a game that neither team is looking forward to.

  • Carlin Isles, Fastest Man In Rugby, Signs With Detroit Lions

After a horribly disappointing season in 2013, the Detroit Lions are already attempting to rework their roster. In a recent move, the Lions have signed Carlin Isles, who is being hailed as the “fastest man in rugby,” and played the wing position for Team USA Rugby.

Isles has been signed to the practice squad, and with the hopes of making the playoffs out of the question, the Lions are already looking forward to 2014.

The Lions should have been able to make the playoffs, and led the NFC North for much of the season, but after losing 4 of their last 5 games, their season completely flipped around.

The Detroit Lions have already been looking forward to 2014, and while Carlin Isles is not the only one, the team has been hosting workouts for several players over the past week.

In a year that had both Jay Cutler and Aaron Rodgers injured for much of the season, the Lions were expected to win the division, and even started the season 6-3.

After falling to 7-8 on the year, Jim Schwartz is currently in the hot seat, and is unlikely to return as the head coach of the Lions next year.

It was reported that Carlin Isles worked out with the team on Monday, and ran a 4.22-second 40-yard dash. He has previously played football for Ashland University in Ohio, but has never played in the NFL before.

Although Jim Schwartz may not be sticking with the team much longer anyway, he was the one who was in charge of signing Carlin Isles, and the coach spoke on the unconventional signing when saying “An athlete’s an athlete. There’s skills that you can develop, and if you see something you like then you can work with him.”

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mfb8a1GFrxc

As fans of the Lions know, this is certainly not the first time that the team has taken an unconventional route to adding players to their roster. Just in the past year, they have tried out a German Football League wide receiver, and there was Harvard Rugland, a kicker who became a Youtube sensation for his kicking skills.

Carlin Isles was signed to the team’s practice squad on Thursday, and while his position is unknown, with his speed, he would likely be a punt and kick returner.

  • Bears-Eagles Game: Eagles Win Big, Take Control Of NFC East

On Sunday night, a potentially exciting game between the Chicago Bears and the Philadelphia Eagles occurred, leaving the Bears embarrassed once again. Despite the outcome of the game, both teams remain at the top of their respective divisions.

While still at the top of the division, the Bears will play against the Packers in week 17 determining which of the two teams will claim the NFC North, and head to the playoffs.

The NFC East features a similar situation in which the Eagles and Cowboys will battle it out for top place in the division, and a spot in the playoffs.

There are all sorts of NFL playoff scenarios that are being talked about, and many of them concern the NFC, as only two of the NFC teams have clinched a spot in the playoffs so far, which are the Seahawks and the Panthers.

The Seahawks have been the one dominant team throughout the season and clinched a couple of weeks ago, while the Panthers clinched yesterday with a big win against the Saints.

In an important statement from the Philadelphia Eagles, who have had an up-and-down season, they destroyed the Chicago Bears with a final score of 54-11. While the Eagles would have been playing their final game to decide the division no matter how the game ended, rookie coach Chip Kelly decided to play his starters anyway, and make an example of the Bears.

The Bears offense was not able to get going at all during the game, and was in part due to the fact that Jay Cutler was not getting any protection, and the opposing defense recorded a season-high number of sacks on the quarterback, a total of 5. He was harassed by the Eagles’ defense throughout the game, and as a result, the Bears only scored one touchdown in the game, a 6-yard pass on the last play of the third quarter.

After the Cowboys rallied to beat the Redskins earlier in the day, the Eagles knew that they were only playing for a No.3 seed, but that didn’t stop them from dominating the game, which they did from the start. Chip Kelly has brought his team to play, and that is just what they did.

After the game, the coach said “We’re from Philadelphia and we fight. If there’s a game on, we’re playing.”

The Eagles led the Bears 21-0 at the end of the first quarter, and LeSean McCoy added to his already impressive stats on the season by running for two touchdowns, and 133 yards in the game. Just weeks ago, he set the rushing record for an Eagles running back in a game against the Detroit Lions.

In a wild upcoming week 17, the playoffs will finally be set, with important games between the Bears and Packers, and Eagles and Cowboys.

  • NFL Playoff Scenarios: Week 16 Is Over, And Playoff Picture Is Wide Open?

It does not normally come to this point, but after 16 weeks of the season, several teams still have a chance to make the playoffs. In a number of possible NFL playoff scenarios, the NFC is especially wide open with only two teams that have clinched the playoffs.

Meanwhile, the AFC is slightly more clear with five teams that have clinched, although three teams are 8-7, and will battle it out in week 17 for the sixth spot.

The NFL has seen a number of teams go up and down throughout the year, but the two teams that have remained at the top throughout the season have remained to be the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks.

Several playoff scenarios are possible still, and fans will have to wait until the end of next week in order to find out the fate of a number of teams still.

For at least the second year in a row, the NFC East’s final game between the Eagles and Cowboys will ultimately determine which team will win the division, and go to the playoffs.

The NFC North is also host to a similar situation in which the Green Bay Packers will be playing the Chicago Bears with the winner taking the division. It is a bit of an odd year for the NFC North, a division that saw the Detroit Lions have a record of 6-3, only to see their season crumbling down after losses in five of their past six games, and losing the opportunity to play in the post-season.

Things have changed somewhat since the scenarios were released at the end of week 15, with the AFC getting the four teams other than the Broncos in, and the Panthers have also clinched since then, becoming the only other NFC team to receive a berth other than the Seahawks.

This was certainly the year for Detroit to win, since the Bears and Packers have been playing without their starting quarterbacks for much of the season, but continued to beat themselves with turnovers throughout the second half of the season.

Turning to the NFC West, things get really interesting as the Seattle Seahawks are the only team to have clinched a playoff spot in the division, and were the first in the league to do it, but two other teams have playoff-worthy records.

The 49ers and Cardinals both have playoff-worthy records, and if the 49ers are to win tonight, then they would already clinch a spot, although if they win next week, along with the Panthers and Seahawks losing, then they have a chance to earn the top spot in the playoffs. However, if the 49ers were to lose, both teams would have a record of 10-5, before playing each other in week 17.

The New Orleans Saints are also fighting for the second wild card spot in the NFC, and are likely to get it with their final game being against the Buccaneers.

Things are shaping up a lot easier with the NFL playoff scenarios in the AFC, as five of the spots are already secured, but the sixth could go to one of four different teams- Miami Dolphins, Pittsburgh Steelers, Baltimore Ravens, and San Diego Chargers. The scenarios for each of those teams getting in can get very complicated, and while the Miami Dolphins currently sit in the sixth position, a win will not be enough to get them in.

  • Green Bay Packers Are Without Aaron Rodgers Again

For a Green Bay Packers team that has been struggling since his departure several weeks ago, the news that Aaron Rodgers will be out of the lineup in this week’s game is not good for the Packers, and their fans.

As they are still attempting to make the playoffs, the inclusion of Aaron Rodgers in the lineup would certainly help, but without him, they will be hoping for a miracle in order to make the playoffs.

This Sunday, they will play against a Steelers team in a similar situation, although with the Packers playing in the NFC North, they have an easier time of making the playoffs than the Steelers, who trail both the Bengals and the Ravens.

The Green Bay Packers currently have a record of 7-6-1, and have struggled greatly since the loss of their star quarterback. Aaron Rodgers, being one of the best quarterbacks to play football, was surely going to be missed on the team, but they had no idea how much.

There has been plenty of speculation about the return of Aaron Rodgers recently, and he is continually not being cleared to play.

The latest report came from coach Mike McCarthy when he said “As an organization we do not feel like we are ready for him to play. He’s not medically cleared, that’s still the case today. As an organization, we don’t think this is the right time for him to play.”

After going down during a Monday Night Football game against the Chicago Bears on November 4th, Rodgers has not returned to the field, and they were not able to win a game during the month of November. They finally got their second win since his departure during a late comeback in their last game, with some help from Tony Romo’s interceptions, beating the Cowboys.

They have won their last two games, and in the remaining games of the season, they will play the Steelers and their division rivals, the Chicago Bears. The Bears currently lead the NFC North with a record of 8-6. The Lions led the division for much of the season, but after recent losses, they no longer control their own destiny, and may not make the playoffs.

After the Packers lost Aaaron Rodgers to injury, the Packers tried out a few different quarterbacks including Seneca Wallace and Scott Tolzien, but finally turned to someone they were familiar with, and re-signed Matt Flynn, who has started ever since.

With two remaining games, Matt Flynn and the Green Bay Packers will have to step up their game if they hope to continue playing in January.

  • Can Reggie Bush Get His 1,000 Yd Season?

Can Reggie Bush Get His 1,000 Yd Season?

Popular NFL running back Reggie Bush may have been a shoo-in for the Heisman Award in 2005 after his USC team won the BCS National Championship, but it’s doubtful he’s winning ANY kind of award from his fellow teammates lately after throwing them all under the bus with negative remarks about their apparent lack of discipline.

Bush told sources on Wednesday that the reason why the Detroit Lions had lost four out of their last five games was because the players had a discipline problem. According to him, none of his fellow teammates had any discipline at all.

Reggie Bush, a phenomenal college running back for USC, had no problem with discipline as evident from his 2005 Heisman win. However, looking several years ahead into his NFL career he’s just been good – Not quite like the crowd-pleasing runaway touchdowns and 2,000 plus yards during his Heisman year.

If Bush’s fans were to take the negativity he exudes towards his teamates, add in a handful of Heisman returned, measure up the latest calf injury that has kept him sidelined and lastly throw in the possibility of a 1,000 yard season…well…it doesn’t quite seem like the same ball player.

Reggie Bush is a favorite in fantasy football drafts, and always entertaining to watch on the big screen. He’s one of the true backs – simply sticking with his position alone. To earn a 1,000 yard season is a big deal to a running back, especially a true back like Bush. In order to obtain one of these seasons, the back has to have tried and true blockers, a strong offensive line, and a cooperative quarterback that’ll hand off to you enough times to get that number closer and closer. Even the defense comes into play here. If they don’t give the offense enough breathing room then those nice hand-offs to Reggie turn into receptions for Calvin.

With Bush so close to his golden season numbers, wouldn’t he want to make nice with his teammates? Especially the offensive line and tackles. Even the occasional tight end could need to be enlisted for a quick block down the sideline. Word of advice…don’t piss off the guys who have your back – literally. Or instead of counting up yards over 1,000 you could be counting stars.

  • Detroit Lions Lose Again, Possibly Out Of The Playoffs

As any fan of the NFL knows, the Detroit Lions have struggled a lot as a team. They seem to have finally rebounded, and are continuing to improve with the help of their star players, but it does not seem to be enough to help them.

The Lions were in charge of the NFC North earlier in this season, and if there was ever a year for them to win the division it would be this year.

The rest of the division has been disappointing all year, and while the Vikings have been out of the mix for much of the season, the Bears have been without Jay Cutler, and the Packers have been without Aaron Rodgers.

The Detroit Lions will often have control of a game, and then seem to find a way to turn the ball over multiple times, and let their opponents back in the game.

The team that embarrassed the Lions most recently was the Baltimore Ravens, who defeated them last night on the big stage during a huge game of Monday Night Football for both teams.

Last week, they fell victim to the Eagles, who somehow found a way to score 34 points and win even during a huge snowstorm.

Matthew Stafford, who threw two interceptions on 3rd and short, and a total of 3 in the game, admitted the obvious when saying “I didn’t play my best game by any means.”

Both teams needed the win in order to remain active in the hunt for the playoffs, although the Lions have been slipping in the rankings more than anyone recently.

The Lions had a record of 6-3 going into games against the Bucaneers and Steelers, which were two of the worst teams at the time, and lost both games. They have also lost four of their last five games since having the 5-3 record, and are now 7-7, with their hopes of making the playoffs falling apart, and no longer have the opportunity to control their own destiny.

The Detroit Lions are led by two of the top players in the league in Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson, but for whatever reason, they simply are not able to win on the big stage, and when the pressure is mounting. T

They had a chance to prove themselves last night against the Ravens, and while their defense came up big, not allowing any touchdowns, the Ravens capitalized with their kicker, using six field goals to win the game 18-15.

In their last two remaining games of the season, the Lions play the Giants and the Vikings. These should be easy games to win if they play like they did against some teams, but while they no longer control their own destiny, they need the Bears and Packers to lose as well.

  • Reggie Bush Expects To Play On Monday Night

Reggie Bush missed out on Detroit’s last game in Philadelphia but expects to play in their big game on Monday night. This will be the first time that the Lions have played in a Monday Night Football game, and Bush does not want to miss the opportunity to play.

He is one of the older running backs in the league, and has experienced injuries before, but Reggie Bush still remains a very tough runner in the NFL. He sat out during the Lions’ previous game with an injury that he had suffered before the game started.

In the game that Bush sat out, the Lions faced the Eagles in the middle of a Philadelphia snowstorm that somehow found the Eagles taking command of the game and winning with a final score of 34-20.

While it was originally reported that Bush had injured himself while slipping on the snow, he later denied that claim. He said that he was already fighting a calf injury and simply aggravated the pulled muscle while jogging before the game.

On Wednesday the running back stated that he simply wasn’t healthy enough to play, and did not want to chance it when saying “I didn’t fall. It was definitely icy out there. There was definitely a lot of snow, but I didn’t fall on the ground or anything like that. I was just out there jogging. I wasn’t even really going hard. I was just jogging, and it just grabbed on me.”

Watching from the sideline was hard on Reggie Bush, and he is determined to make it back to the field on Monday, in an important game against the Baltimore Ravens, as both teams battle to stay alive for the playoffs. He has never missed a game for a pulled muscle before, and looks forward to getting back on the field.

He explained his frustration in last week’s game further when saying “What was at stake, playing on the road and just being out there with my teammates. It’s always hard being on the sidelines, being a spectator. I hate it, so I look forward to getting back this week.”

The Lions have a big game while also playing in front of a national audeince on Monday night, and it will certainly help to have Reggie Bush back on the field. The Lions still remain in first place in the NFC North, but need to show up with better performances in the final three weeks of the season if they expect to stay there.

  • LeSean McCoy Plows His Way Through Snowy Philly, Sets Rushing Record

LeSean McCoy was by the far the most impressive performer in yesterday’s game between the Eagles and the Lions. In a game that started in a complete snowstorm, it was hard for either team to see what was going on for much of the first half, not to mention score.

The Lions led the game with a score of 8-0 at halftime, which seemed as if it may have been enough with the way the first half played out.

The Lions went up 14-0, and seemed to take control of the game, however, LeSean McCoy had other plans for how the game would play out. The game ended with a final score of 34-20 in favor of the Eagles.

LeSean McCoy put his best performance, and more than most players, when he rushed for 217 yards and lifted the Eagles to victory. Despite the snowy conditions, he was the one who was able to outshine everyone else and somehow find a way for the Eagles to win in the Philadelphia snowstorm.

McCoy broke the record for most rushing yards in a game that was previously held by Hall Of Famer Steven Van Buren in 1949, which was 205 yards. The Eagles rushed for 299 yards in total, while the Lions came into the game allowing the third-fewest yards rushing per game in the league.

To get an idea of just how hard it would be to run in the snowy conditions, check this out.

    (image)

He also became only the third member of the Eagles to rush for 200 yards in a single game in the the team’s history, with the other being Duce Staley in 2000. He is on pace for over 1,600 rushing yards, and would likely be in the hunt for MVP if it were not for all-star quarterbacks such as Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson.

In contrast to McCoy’s record-setting performance, the Lions were hardly able to run at all, and it was revealed later in the day that the reason fans were not able to see Reggie Bush on the field throughout the game was because he injured himself before the game started when slipping on the snow.

While completing his incredible performance through the snow, McCoy admitted how difficult it was to run when saying “It was tough, to be honest. But the guys were giving me so much room. I actually like to run in between the tackles.” It was certainly an impressive performance for the running back, and gave the Eagles their 8th win of the season.

The game was very important for both the Lions and the Eagles, and with LeSean McCoy’s performance leading the Eagles to victory, it is an important statement for the team going into week 15.

In his outstanding performance as a runner, McCoy had more yards than Matthew Stafford, Nick Foles or Calvin Johnson, who was held to only 49 receiving yards. Fortunately, Johnson only needed 40 yards to break the all-time record for receiving yards as a Detroit Lion.

  • Reggie Bush Injured Before Game Starts, Slips In Snow

Well, if anyone just watched the game between the Lions and the Eagles while wondering why Reggie Bush did not make an appearance on the field, it is because he sustained an injury before the game started. The veteran running back slipped in the snow, aggravating his calf, and prevented him from playing during the game.

Reggie Bush, the running back for the Detroit Lions, was forced out of the game before it even started in a very unlikely injury. The game continued to take a toll on both teams throughout, but especially the Lions, who had trouble running the ball.

Bush was injured during the pre-game warm-ups, and possibly re-aggravated an existing calf injury. He has played in 11 games this season, and the Lions are only 1-4 when Bush is not able to touch the ball more than 20 times.

That record turned to 1-5 after their disappointing loss today, and gave the Lions a record of 7-6 on the season. The game was important for both the Lions and the Eagles, and the Eagles made a big statement with the win.

It is hard to know how much better the Lions would have done if Bush would have been in the game, but they were not able to get much of anything on the ground during the game. Joique Bell and Reggie Bush typically share the responsibilities of running, but with Bush out, it was up to Bell to do it on his own. As a result, the rushing attack from the Lions was lackluster, and Bell only ran for 69 yards in the game.

Despite Reggie Bush’s attitude and positive outlook going into the game, he was not able to play due to what happened before the game. Earlier in the week, he welcome the snow filled conditions, saying “I actually welcome it. I love playing in the bad weather conditions because I feel like it’s an advantage for the running backs.”

In order to get a feel for just how messy the game was, look no further than this graphic.

    (image)

Both teams were playing through a complete snowstorm, finding it impossible to score in the first quarter, and a halftime score of 8-0. However, things started to heat up in the second half as the final score ended in favor of the Eagles, 34-20.

The teams battled back and forth for much of the game before the Eagles were able to take over in the 4th quarter, securing their 8th win of the season.

With Reggie Bush out due to his pre-game injury, the Lions were unable to do much in the running game, and lost in a disappointing way to the Eagles in Philadelphia.

  • Eagles-Lions Game Starts In A Snowstorm, Eagles Find A Way To Win

For anyone who just finished watching that epic game between the Eagles and Lions, many people are probably still wondering how the first half and the second half played out with such different performances.

The game started during a huge snowstorm, and throughout the first half especially, it was hard to see what was going on for players, referees, as well as the fans watching in Philadelphia and at home. As a result, neither team was able to score in the first half for the most part, and the first quarter ended with both teams unable to score.

Several games this week opened with severe weather conditions, but none as bad as the one that took place in Philadelphia with the field covered in snow, reaching a height of 8 inches at one point according to one reporter who was on the field.

    (image)

Somehow things calmed down a bit in the second half, allowing both offenses to explode, however it was the running game of the Eagles that truly took off, with LeSean McCoy setting an Eagles record for most rushing yards in a game, and destroying the Lions defensive ground game.

The Eagles finished with 299 yards rushing against a defense that didn’t allow a TD on the ground in the previous eight games and came in allowing the third-fewest yards rushing per game. McCoy was responsible for 217 rushing yards in the game, breaking the previous record of 205 that was held by Hall of Famer Steven Van Buren in 1949.

While the game completely lacked offense in the first half, and neither team was even able to kick a field goal or extra point throughout the game, there were a lot more points than expected at the start of the game. It became a back and forth scoring rout for a while, but eventually the Eagles took control, and dominated the 4th quarter.

The Lions led the game 8-0 at halftime, before taking a 14 point lead and appearing to take over the game. However, the Eagles quickly came back and under the running skills of LeSean McCoy, it became too hard for the Lions to come back. The snowy conditions were simply too much for the Lions to overcome, and fumbled on multiple occasions, twice during runs.

While it did not prove to be too big of a deal in this game, Calvin Johnson is one of the top receivers in the league, and the Eagles were fearing going up against him. Johnson, as one of the top receivers only needed 40 yards to break the all-time receiving yards franchise record, and did that in the first quarter, however, he was not very effective during the rest of the game.

    (image)

Despite the very snowy environment, both teams somehow managed to find ways to score, and the Eagles pulled away with the victory. The final score was 34-20, giving the Eagles a record of 8-5, and dropping the Lions to 7-6. It was an important for both teams trying to secure spots in the playoffs, and the Eagles made a big statement with the win.
