  • Nina Dobrev And Derek Hough A Couple Again?

Nina Dobrev and Derek Hough were a dazzling, but short lived, couple back in the fall of 2013.

Now, it seems possible that they might be rekindling their romance!

Nina Dobrev and Derek Hough both showed up at Roosevelt Hotel in LA seperately, but were soon partying the night away as a pair.

A source told Hollywood Life that they very quickly began acting like a couple.

As for Derek, after arriving, “he soon went over to her area and talked to her as if the night was set up for them to see each other.”

    Things escalated quickly.

“He took her and grabbed her and started dancing with her, basically throwing her around and she loved it.”

The source added, “They were talking close and holding each other and she was laughing at everything he said, she was enamored and definitely was equally flirting with him and he was really trying to impress her.”

After some raucous dancing and flirting, Nina Dobrev and Derek Hough reportedly opted for some alone time downstairs in the Public Kitchen & Bar.

They were “talking and drinking alone at the bar together catching up and heavily flirting. He had his hand on the small of her back and he definitely was doing things to show he wanted her.”

The source continued, “He was very touchy-feely with her.”

After leaving the Public Kitchen & Bar, Nina Dobrev and Derek Hough returned upstairs for more fun.

The source said, “They returned and requested a few songs from the DJ and one of the songs was Ginuwine’s “Pony” where they danced together and was very grindy with each other. Nina was having a blast and it is obvious that Ian is not on her mind at all. She acted as if she moved on 100%.”

The two even left together, according to the source.

This news comes as rumors fly around speculation that Nina Dobrev may be leaving Vampire Diaries in order to get away from her ex, Ian Somerhalder, and his new(ish) squeeze, Nikki Reed.

According to I4U, Ian Somerhalder brings his love around the set on a regular basis and the two don’t hesitate to show a little PDA.

That would make a girl want to bug out!

While Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder seem civil in public, it is said that they are not that nice when cameras aren’t looking.

Hopefully, should the rumors of a new love with Derek Hough be true, Nina Dobrev can move on without making a major career change!

  • Julianne Hough on Derek Hough: Not Afraid to Judge ‘DWTS’ Moves

Julianne Hough is back on Dancing With the Stars, but in a much different capacity these days. The two-time mirrorball trophy winner now sits at the judges’ desk and critiques the dance moves of season 19’s DWTS contestants. One of those contestants–YouTube sensation Bethany Mota–is partnered with dance pro Derek Hough–who just happens to be Julianne’s brother. How does this situation make her feel?

“Everyone’s fair game at this point,” Julianne told Hollywood Life. “It’s not me judging my brother — it’s me judging the collaboration and connection that he has with his partner and the growth that I see her do. If I see something where I’m like, ‘Yo Derek, you didn’t up your game with your partner, she could have done better this week,’ then I will call him out for sure. I’m not afraid of that. But he knows and hopefully everybody else knows too, it’s never to diss anybody or call anybody out, it’s because I really do want to see the people improve.”

Julianne Hough sits alongside longtime Dancing With the Stars judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Toniolo, and Len Goodman, and has her work cut out for her this season. Season 19 premiered on Monday evening, September 15th, to some amazing performances.

“That’s where it all began for me so to be there with the judges on the other side of the panel is what is most exciting about returning,” she says. “Just being able to watch the celebrities grow and become better.”

Tuesday night will see the first season 19 elimination from Dancing With the Stars, along with a special performance of Smokey Robinson with Aloe Blacc.

Did you see the premiere of Dancing With the Stars on Monday evening? How do you think Julianne Hough did in the judges’ seat? And which of the dancing acts do you think will be eliminated on Tuesday’s show?

  • Cheryl Burke Hanging Up Her DWTS Dancing Shoes?

Dancing With the Stars dance pro Cheryl Burke dropped a bombshell Monday on Good Morning America when she announced that this will be her last season on the popular ABC dancing competition.

    Say it isn’t so!

“As of now, this is probably going to be my last season,” the two-time champion said on the day of the first live performance with her season 19 star partner, Antonio Sebato Jr.

For a decade, the dancing star has been a fixture on the hit ABC series for 18 out of the show’s 19 seasons.

“I started when was 20. I’m 30. I want to try new things and just see what’s out there,” she explained.

The two-time mirror ball winner has appeared in the finals seven times and the semi-finals 10 times.

The complete Dancing With The Stars celebrity roster for tonight’s premiere looks like this:

Olympian Lolo Jones; partnered with Keo Motsepe
Tommy Chong of Cheech and Chong; partnered with Peta Murgatroyd
Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson; partnered with Mark Ballas
Actor Antonio Sabato Jr.; partnered with Cheryl Burke

One of these teams will be eliminated tonight. Who do you think will have to turn in their dancing shoes?

Dancing With the Stars airs 8 p.m. every Monday on ABC.

  • ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 19 Premiere

‘Dancing With the Stars’ Season 19 Premiere

Dancing With the Stars premieres its 19th season on Monday evening, and the cast members are reportedly ready–and very excited–about their first forays across the dance floor.

Thirteen ‘stars’ will compete for that coveted mirrorball trophy throughout season 19. This season’s contestants include Jonathan Bennett, Tommy Chong, Randy Couture, Betsey Johnson, Lolo Jones, Bethany Mota, Janel Parrish, Alfonso Ribeiro, Sadie Robertson, Antonio Sabato, Jr., Tavis Smiley, Lea Thompson, and Michael Waltrip. Of course each of these contestants is paired with a dance professional. This season’s pros include Mark Ballas, Cheryl Burke, Sharna Burgess, Witney Carson, Artem Chigvintsev, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Allison Holker, Derek Hough, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd, Emma Slater, and Karina Smirnoff.

Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba return to the Dancing With the Stars judges’ desk. They are also joined this season by two-time mirrorball trophy winner and film star Julianne Hough–whose brother Derek is one of the pro dancers.

USA Today reports that some of these ‘stars‘ are amateurs at best, and that it really is quite a stretch to call them stars. Since the show is called Dancing With the Stars, however, the producers had to do what they could to come up with contestants who could somewhat fit that criteria.

Duck Dynasty star Korie Robertson is already soliciting votes for daughter Sadie Robertson.

Will you be tuning in to the season 19 premiere of Dancing With the Stars on Monday evening, September 15th, at 8PM? Dancing With the Stars airs on ABC.

Which of the ‘stars’ might you be rooting for during season 19?

  • DWTS Season 19 Cast Leaked: ‘Duck Dynasty’ Star Sadie Robertson Reportedly Among the New Cast

The Dancing With the Stars Season 19 cast was recently leaked, and it looks like it will be a great season.

Duck Dynasty star Sadie Robertson, 17, will reportedly have her chance to fulfill her dream to compete with other stars for the Mirror Ball Trophy when the new season premieres Sept. 15 on ABC.

Korie Robertson, the mother of the teen and wife of Willie Robertson, told Us Weekly that her daughter has always wanted to be on the dance reality TV show.

“I think that our kids are really natural in front of the camera and they have fun with it,” said Korie. “Sadie I think wants to maybe be in a talk show and she wants to be on ‘Dancing with the Stars!’”

Joining Robertson is Janel Parrish, who plays Mona on Pretty Little Liars, confirmed by Us Weekly.

Others competing on the new season of DWTS are Olympian Lolo Jones and Antonio Sabato Jr., a former Calvin Klein model and former General Hospital actor.

Former pro-dancer Julianne Hough — and brother of pro-dancer Derek Hough — will also be returning to the reality show for Season 19 as a fourth judge, joining returning judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli.

“I’m so excited to be back with my Dancing with the Stars family again on a regular basis,” said Hough in a press release.

The list of pro-dancers includes DWTS veterans Cheryl Burke and Mark Ballas. It has also been confirmed that Derek Hough will be returning to the show, as well as Val Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Emma Slater, Peta Murgatroyd, and Witney Carson.

Reportedly joining the returning pros this season are new pro-dancers Artem Chiqvintsev, Keoikantse Motsepe, and Allison Holker.

The Dancing With The Stars complete celebrity roster will officially be revealed on Good Morning America on Thursday. The leaked list, as reported by The Christian Post, looks like this:

Olympian Lolo Jones; partnered with Keo Motsepe
Tommy Chong of Cheech and Chong; partnered with Peta Murgatroyd

Actor Antonio Sabato Jr.; partnered with Cheryl Burke

  • Julianne Hough To Return To DWTS As 4th Judge

Julianne Hough recently announced that she will be joining the panel of judges when the 19th season of Dancing with the Stars kicks off next month. She will be joining Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli at the judges table.

“My role is to encourage and be supportive, and to also be candid and honest and try not to beat around the bush, to be too politically correct,” Hough told People. “I want to give critiques so they can improve. I’m not there to be harsh or cause a controversy. I won’t be mean or malicious. That’s not who I am. That’s not my role at all.”

Hough has previously been a guest judge on the show, and is a two-time champ. However, she felt that it was time to make a more permanent move, and traded in her dancing shoes for a shot at the judges seat.

“After being on tour with my brother [Derek Hough], it felt like time to move on,” Hough, who got her start in Hollywood from dancing on the show in 2005, continued. “I felt like I really reconnected with fans, and the people have supported me since day one. They have followed me from Dancing with the Stars to my other aspirations. It just feels like the perfect time to reconnect and be a part of where it all began, with my family.”

Derek is set to return to the stage during the upcoming season, and many wondered how that would contribute to Julianne’s decisions and critiques. However, she said it will not be a problem. “Derek has been known to be very good with his partnerships,” Hough said. “But it’s not about my brother, nor is it about Cheryl or Mark. It’s about the partnership and the celebrity who is dancing.”

The other celebrity dancers have been revealed as well and include: Mark Ballas, Witney Carson, Cheryl Burke, Artem Chigvintsev, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Allison Holker, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd, Emma Slater, and Karina Smirnoff.

  • Julianne Hough Encouraged By Brother, Derek

Julianne Hough is officially returning to Dancing with the Stars for season 19.

The show will begin next month and will present 26-year-old Hough seated at the judges table with Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli.

Julianne Hough is a two-time season champ on DWTS, but she is ready to take on the role of judge.

She has been a guest judge a couple of times, but feels that now is the time to make it more permanent.

So just because she knows what the dancers are going through, does that mean she’ll take it easy on them? Not really, she says.

“My role is to encourage and be supportive, and to also be candid and honest and try not to beat around the bush, to be too politically correct,” Hough said. “I want to give critiques so they can improve. I’m not there to be harsh or cause a controversy. I won’t be mean or malicious. That’s not who I am. That’s not my role at all.”

Her brother, dancer Derek Hough, gave his approval of her new role.

Julianne Hough said of her brother’s reaction, “He texted me today just to say, ‘Hey, congrats babe! Saw that it’s all out now…’ ”

She and her brother have a very close relationship, but when asked if she would have a hard time judging her brother, she said it wouldn’t be hard. In fact, the judging is more about the partnership and how well the featured celebrities do.

“Derek has been known to be very good with his partnerships,” Hough says. “But it’s not about my brother, nor is it about Cheryl or Mark. It’s about the partnership and the celebrity who is dancing.”

Julianne Hough also said, “It’s all supportive. It’s all in good fun. At the end of the day, we’re all pretty lucky we get to do the show. It’s not a have-to or a super competitive thing where it’s life or death. This is fun.”

Derek Hough will return for the 19th season, along with Cheryl Burke, Mark Ballas, Karina Smirnoff and Tony Dovolani.

Congrats to Julianne Hough on her new job as judge!

  • Julianne Hough Returns to Her Roots on ‘DWTS,’ This Time as a Permanent Judge

Julianne Hough is returning to the long-running ABC reality competition series, Dancing With the Stars, where she got her start in Hollywood in 2005. This time, however, she will return as a judge.

Hough will join returning judges Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli for the season premiere on Sept. 15.

This isn’t the first time the two-time DWTS champion has judged. She returned in April to be a guest judge, but this time the position will be permanent.

The professional dancers for the 19th season have been announced and include Mark Ballas, Witney Carson, Cheryl Burke, Artem Chigvintsev, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Allison Holker, Keo Motsepe, Peta Murgatroyd, Emma Slater, Karina Smirnoff, and Julianne’s brother, Derek Hough.

Hough has had her hand in a variety of different endeavors since leaving the show in 2009, including films like Christina Aguilera‘s Burlesque, Footloose, Rock of Ages and Safe Haven, with Channing Tatum.

Also during her time away from DWTS, the singer debuted an album, which topped Billboard’s country music chart in 2008.

Her latest endeavor was a North American dance tour with her brother called Move Live on Tour. The siblings are also developing a series for Starz, Blackpool, which follows the world of international competitive ballroom dancing.

Fans of DWTS will have to wait until Sept. 4 to learn which celebrities will vie off this year for the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy, when it is announced on Good Morning America.

The 26-year-old Jackie-of-all-trades seems pretty pumped for the new gig, posting a snap on Instagram Thursday, along with the caption: “Warming up for Dancing With The Stars with @heineken_us! #USopen preparty”

  • Hayden Panettiere Confirms Pregnancy During Ice Bucket Challenge

Hayden Panettiere is the latest celebrity to take on the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to raise money for Lou Gehrig’s disease.

On Wednesday, August 20, Hayden completed her challenge and confirmed her pregnancy with Wladimir Klitschko while doing so.

Hayden can be seen wearing a pair of black leggings and a loose T-shirt, standing in a parking lot. “I accept my ALS Challenge,” the Nashville star said in the clip that was posted on Instagram. “I re-nominate Kacey Musgraves — you’re not getting out of this, [fiance] Wladimir Klitschko, and my unborn child.”

Hayden then can be seen bracing herself for what is about to come. Derek Hough, Hayden’s close friend and Dancing with the Stars pro, then proceeded to dump the bucket over her head, dousing her with ice cold water. “Holy shhhhhhh,” Panettiere said, trying not to use foul language. “Yup, that’s cold,” she added while jumping up and down.

Hayden could not figure out how to post the video on her Instagram, so Hough posted it on his. “Couldn’t figure out how to post it on @haydenpanettier twitter so I’m posting it for her,” Hough wrote. #als #icebucketchallenge (Hayden shortly went into labor after this) Jus kiddin,” he added.

  • Nikki Reed and Ian Somerhalder Dating

Twilight franchise actress Nikki Reed is reported to be unironically dating The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder, according to US Magazine.

The two were spotted jogging together in Los Angeles on Saturday, and then again at the Studio City Farmer’s Market on Sunday. Somerhalder kept his arms around Reed, repeatedly kissing her on the cheek. The couple was also seen at dinner last week in the San Fernando Valley, and at Kiwami in Studio City on Tuesday, July 15.

Aside from a mutually deep understanding of vampiric acting technique, Reed and Somerhalder have run in the same circles. Somerhalder dated Reed’s Twilight costar Ashley Greene in 2009, and Reed is close friends with Somerhalder’s The Vampire Diaries costar and ex Nina Dobrev. Both Dobrev and Reed dated Dancing With the Stars’ Derek Hough, who was Reed’s first fling after divorcing American Idol alum Paul McDonald, after two years of marriage.

Nicole Houston “Nikki” Reed, 26, began her career co-writing and starring in Catherine Hardwicke’s 2003 drama Thirteen. The script was written in six days, and was a semi-autobiographical take on Reed’s life. Though critically acclaimed, the film courted a bit of controversy due to its portrayal of drug and alcohol abuse, underage sexual behavior and self-harm.

    Here is the trailer:

Ian Joseph Somerhalder, 35, got his start in modelling at the age of ten, and went into acting at 17. Aside from his role as Damon Salvatore on The Vampire Diaries, he is best known for playing Boone Carlyle on ABC’s cult hit Lost.

Vampire enthusiasts appear to be pleased with the match:

  • Julianne Hough On Ryan Seacrest and Brooks Laich

Julianne Hough graces the cover of the August issue of Redbook magazine and within its pages she dishes on her split from Ryan Seacrest and her bold move to take a chance on new love. Julianne, who is presently on tour for “Move Live,” her dance extravaganza with brother Derek Hough, says there was more to her split from the American Idol and radio personality than what the media was initially told.

When Julianne Hough and Ryan Seacrest announced their split back in March of 2013 they cited their crazy schedules as the catalyst for the break up.

“Every relationship, there was nothing wrong or bad, but there was nothing right,” Hough says in the magazine. “I had one foot out because I didn’t want to get hurt. And I didn’t say what was on my mind because I didn’t want to ruffle any feathers. I needed to be perfect.”

Nine months later Julianne started dating hockey player Brooks Laich, and she has a whole new attitude on love.

“But now I’m not holding anything back, because I’d rather get my heart broken than never know what it is to be completely, madly in love,” she says. “If I had been this open in my last relationship, who knows?”

It seems a six-day seminar on destiny–and creating your own–may have contributed to Julianne Hough’s new outlook. The young woman has faced many obstacles in her life. Maybe this seminar helped move her past at least one of them?

“I was not into it at first, but I learned so much about myself and why my relationships didn’t work that by the end I was on a high,” she says. “I was seeing a couple people, but immediately [pretends to text guys], ‘You are nice, but this is going nowhere.’ The next day my ‘Curve’ costar introduced [Brooks and me]. It couldn’t have been a better time. We’ve been open and honest from Day 1.”

Happiness seems to be a way of life now for the former Dancing With the Stars pro. A recent Instagram post is captioned, “Good morning! Let’s be happy today, tomorrow, and for the rest of our lives! 🙂 Have a joyful day everyone! Xoxo” Her outlook is almost contagious.

Julianne Hough and Ryan Seacrest never seemed to be right for each other. Aside from their age difference there always appeared to be something lacking between them. Julianne has now defined this, learned from her inability to let go, and moved on to a happy, love-filled life. She probably wishes the same for Ryan Seacrest.

For now Julianne is dancing her way into pure, unadulterated happiness–in both her career and her private life, too.

  • Julianne Hough and Brother Derek on Tough Childhoods, Today’s Success

Julianne Hough and older brother Derek Hough spoke recently with PEOPLE magazine about their tough childhoods and how that time led them to where they are today. Dancing With the Stars was essentially the catalyst that moved the brother and sister pair from simply being professional dancers to becoming household names. Derek was this season’s champion. Julianne has gone on to add ‘actress’ to her impressive resume as well. It all started, however, when they were just young kids.

It was back when Derek and Julianne Hough were only 13 and 10, respectively, that their parents sent them from their sheltered home life in Utah to London where they would study at the prestigious London dance school Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts. They lived with family friends Shirley and Corky Ballas, whose son Mark Ballas is one of the current DWTS pros.

Julianne recalled leaving the house early in the morning to catch a London train.

“I remember one of my first days there I got off at the wrong train station,” she said. “I was just standing there thinking, ‘Where am I?’”

She was taken advantage of as a young girl in a sensual world–most likely because her parents weren’t nearby keep a watch over her.

“I was 10 years old looking like I was 28, being a very sensual dancer,” she said during a recent interview with Cosmopolitan. “I was a tormented little kid who had to put on this sexy facade because that was my job and my life. But my heart was the same, and I was this innocent little girl.”

Both Derek and Julianne Hough acknowledge that they made lots of sacrifices–ultimately their childhoods–but that without those sacrifices they wouldn’t be where they are today. The dancing duo is presently on tour with their own show called ‘Move,’ in venues across the U.S. Julianne posted photos from a rehearsal for their Connecticut show on Instagram.

“People will say, ‘How could your parents let you go off to do that?’” Derek said. “I think it’s great that they saw an amazing opportunity. That is the reason we are here today.”

Do you suppose that’s how Julianne and Derek Hough really feel or might they harbor resentment they’re reluctant to share because of how it might mar their professional personas? Will giving up their childhoods and being separated from their family at such a young age one day come back to haunt the brother and sister?

  • Nikki Reed Spotted Canoodling With Derek Hough

Nikki Reed is apparently ready to move on. It’s only been about a month since the Twilight star and the American Idol alum Paul McDonald announced their split after two years of marriage. However, several sources have reported to Us Weekly that Reed is currently dating Dancing With the Stars professional Derek Hough.

The couple was reportedly spotted getting romantic at Rock & Reilly’s in Los Angeles in April. A source told Us, “The whole group was drinking and partying. Derek bought shots for Nikki at the bar. There was lots of PDA, Nikki was feeding him, holding hands, and they left together. They didn’t seem to care if anyone was watching.”

Reed, 25, has also been seen hanging around The Dancing With the Stars set. The actress is friends with Derek’s sister, former Dancing With the Stars pro Julianne Hough. A source describes Reed as a sweet and down to earth girl. However, it looks like the new pair is just having fun as Reed is reportedly concentrating on her career and finalizing her separation from McDonald. A source close to the actress told Us, “Nikki isn’t currently dating anyone. She is focused on her divorce from Paul and caring for that relationship as well as her latest film projects. Nikki and Julianne are good friends, and she has hung out with Derek a few times through her. They’re having fun but it’s nothing serious.”

Reed and McDonald met while the singer was a contestant on Season 10 of American Idol. They were married in 2011. Despite their uncoupling, they reportedly both plan to move forward with their album I’m Not Falling.

Most fans know Reed from her role as Rosalie Hale from the Twilight films. Apart from her career as an actress, she is also a screenwriter, singer-songwriter, and model.

  • Amy Purdy Hospitalized After Sustaining DWTS Injury

Amy Purdy joined the Dancing With The Stars injured list Monday after sustaining a shoulder injury while dancing with partner Derek Hough.

At the start of Monday’s show, Purdy and pro partner Hough were happy to learn they were safe from elimination.

Their first routine was a 36-out-of-40-point rumba which – not surprisingly – earned high praise from the judges for their rendition of Light My Fire by The Doors.

“Right after judging, I turned my head and my back cracked and it just seized up,” Purdy, 34, told Erin Andrews in a backstage interview. “Everything’s really painful right now. It’s hard to breathe.”

The pair were unable to perform in the group dance routine with their team once everyone realized the 34-year-old snowboarder needed further medical attention at the hospital.

The judges decided to use Purdy and Hough’s dress rehearsal dance to judge the final routine.

“We just hope the best for her and hope she’s back soon,” teammate Meryl Davis said on the show.

Purdy tweeted about having to leave early:

She also sent NeNe Leakes some encouragement after he was eliminated during Monday’s competition.

And the paralympian gave a final update to fans:

Purdy is the third dancer to be injured this season. Danica McKellar returned to DWTS Monday after sustaining a broken rib last week, and Billie Dee Williams had to withdraw from the competition with a chronic back issue.

No word yet when – and if – Purdy will return to the dance floor.

Here’s the dance routine that led to her injury.

  • Amy Purdy Sent to Hospital After DWTS Performance

Amy Purdy and Dancing With the Stars partner Derek Hough wowed the crowd and the judges with their performance last night, but left Purdy with a trip to the hospital.

Last night was Latin Night on the show, meaning that each contestant shimmied and shook their way through Latin-style dances, such as the tango and salsa.

Purdy and Hough performed a sensual rumba to a slow rendition of the Doors’ “Light My Fire,” and earned 36 out of 40 points for their dance. The pair continues to impress with their technique and chemistry, and caused head judge Len Goodman, who is known to be tough, to gush.

“You lit my fire,” exclaimed Goodman. “First out, first class!”

Guest judge Ricky Martin also had a few words of praise for the pair.

“You were stunning,” said the singer. “You made me feel a lot of things.”

    Watch the performance, here:

The good news came to a halt, however, shortly after the performance. Purdy revealed to co-host Erin Andrews that she hurt her shoulder and back during the dance and was in a great deal of pain. Purdy was in so much discomfort that she told Andrews it hurt to breathe.

“My shoulder’s been bothering me a little bit,” Purdy explained. “It’s been fine, though, just kind of sore. And then right after judging I turned my head and my back cracked and it just seized up and everything’s really painful right now. It’s hard to breathe.”

Many took to Twitter to show their support:

Purdy was taken to the hospital and was unable to perform in the team dance competition later in the show. After last week’s show, the remaining pairs were split into two groups, Team Vida and Team Loca, and created dances to Martin songs. Because Purdy was absent, the judges watched footage from the dress rehearsal to come up with their scores, instead of watching it live like they could for the other team. Purdy’s team, Team Loca, still ended up beating out Team Vida.

This week was tough for many contestants. Danica McKellar broke a rib while rehearsing, Meryl Davis injured her wrist and Charlie White hurt his knee.

  • Julianne Hough Returns to Judge ‘Dancing with the Stars’

Julianne Hough returned to Dancing with the Stars Monday night when she sat on the judges’ panel of the show’s “Switch Up” episode.

Hough joined Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli to judge switched up dancing pairs.

Hough caused ripples on DWTS last season when she appeared as a guest judge in week four. In her critique of pro dancer Mark Ballas and his partner Christina Milian, Hough cautioned Milian against remaining in the background, saying that Ballas can tend to overshadow his partners.

Ballas, who had choreographed the dance, was reportedly miffed by Hough’s critique.

Some fans speculated that Hough’s comments had contributed to Milian’s elimination the following week.

“You can always count on me to tell the truth,” Hough said prior to Monday night’s show. “It’s all about making comments that whoever the dancer or celebrity is, they can be better for next week. There’s never any harsh criticism just because I want to be harsh, that’s not my nature or my character.”

Hough admitted that sometimes critiques can come off as harsher than the judge intends.

“You go in trying to give constructive criticism, but when the nerves get to you, you sometimes put your foot in your mouth, which I have done in the past. So this is my do-over,” she said, admitting that when it came to critiquing Ballas and Milian, she “could have probably said it a little differently.”

Hough is no stranger to the DWTS contestant perspective, having been one herself in past seasons. She and Olympic speed skater Apolo Ohno won season four. She followed that up with a season five win, partnering with Brazilian race car driver Hélio Castroneves. Hough competed in seasons six through eight but was unable to achieve another win.

Hough and her brother Derek are currently preparing for their 42-city Move Live on Tour show. Derek is a professional dancer and DWTS alum. He’s won five seasons of the show and is currently partnered with paralympic snowboarder Amy Purdy.

Paralympian Amy Purdy and her Dancing With the Stars partner Derek Hough performed a heartfelt and tear-jerking dance on last night’s show.

This season’s episode three required that the dancers choose their most memorable years and then use those experiences to create their dances. Purdy selected 1999, the year in which she contracted bacterial meningitis.

In her battle with the disease, Purdy had both legs amputated. She also lost kidney function, so much so that her father donated one of his to help her. She dedicated the dance to him.

Hough and Purdy danced fittingly to Christina Perri’s “Only Human.” The pair recreated Purdy’s struggle to walk after receiving her prosthetic legs, and how she eventually overcame the obstacles to compete in the Paralympics.

The show assigned Hough and Purdy to dance in the contemporary style. Dancers typically perform while barefoot and are required to point their toes in contemporary. Purdy’s usual prosthetics feature flat feet, however, which impede the dance. The snowboarder found a special pair of prostheses with pointed feet for the dance. She had to learn how to dance and balance on the new legs and feet.

    Watch the performance, here:

This episode is also the first time Purdy has shown her exposed legs. The contestant was wearing a flowing skirt that bared her thighs from time to time. Viewers could see the black stockings she wore over the ends of her legs where the prosthetics attach, as well as the complete prostheses.

As expected, the judges were completely blown away by the performance, as was Purdy’s father, who was crying in the audience. The athlete walked over to him after the dance and gave him a hug.

“There won’t be a dry eye in the country tonight,” stated judge Bruno Tonioli. “Borderline miraculous.”

Guest judge Robin Roberts was equally impressed. “I hope you know what you are doing for people,” she said. “Anyone who is facing a challenge, you let them know they can begin again.”

Twitter also showed its support for Purdy:

The pair scored 36 points out of 40.

  • Derek Hough And Kate Hudson Dating Rumors Surface

This coming Monday, Dancing With The Stars season 18 premieres, including pro-dancer and five-time champion Derek Hough, partnered with Olympic snowboarder Amy Purdy. With the new season of the dance/reality show gaining momentum, Hough and Purdy are not the only thing starting up, but dating rumors encircling Hough and actress Kate Hudson are starting to surface as well.

Hough has been involved with Dancing With The Stars since the show’s fifth season and has won the mirror ball trophy with stars Brooke Burke (Charvet), Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Grey, Kellie Pickler, and Amber Riley. Hudson is a well-known actress and singer, best known for her roles in Almost Famous and How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days. Hudson has also recently starred in Glee as Cassandra July.

Celebrity Dirty Laundry said it best with the following quote as the article’s first line:

“Kate Hudson and Derek Hough just might be the epitome of a perfect blonde couple. While nobody can be 100% certain as to their romantic status, rumor has it that Kate hired Derek Hough to be her private dancer — whoops, I mean private dance teacher.”

According to Hollywood News Daily, Hough (28) and Hudson (34) have been involved in private dance lessons together (Hough hired by Hudson) along with having “immediate chemistry” together as well. Hollywood News Daily also reports that the couple has been publicly affectionate and seen together at a recent visit to Disneyland.

If the rumors of Hough and Hudson are true, this would confirm the recently discussed rumors of Hudson breaking up with Matthew Bellamy. Hudson and Bellamy have a two-and-a-half-year old son but have been “on the rocks” for quite some time.

  • Candace Cameron Bure Joins Cast of DWTS

Candace Cameron Bure has joined the cast of celebrities who will compete on Season 18 of Dancing with the Stars.

The new cast of celebrities for the new season was revealed on Good Morning America Tuesday by host Tom Bergeron and his new partner Erin Andrews.

The Full House star joins a slew of other great names to compete on the ballroom floor, including Charlie White and Meryl Davis, the ice dancing pair who won the gold medal at the Sochi Olympics.

Ironically, DWTS pro Derek Hough choreographed the pair’s short routine for the Olympics.

“I think we’re excited for a little healthy competition,” Davis told Lara Spencer about competing against his partner.

Paralympic snowboarder Amy Purdy is also joining the cast and will be paired with Hough.

The 34-year-old activist and former Amazing Race competitor is the first contestant with two prosthetic legs to compete on DWTS. Purdy’s legs were amputated below the knee due to a form of bacterial meningitis when she was 19 years old.

As for Candace, she is already Tweeting away with excitement.

  • Julianna Hough Dating Brooks Laich

It looks like the gorgeous Julianna Hough is no longer single. Sorry guys!

The Safe Haven actress sparked romance rumors with Canadian hockey player Brooks Laich when the two were spotted holding hands.

The couple went for a hike with Hough’s two dogs. Both looked relaxed in casual clothes and hiking shoes.

Hough and Laich were spotted together the day before Valentine’s day holding hands and constantly smiling.

While it’s not exactly clear that the new duo spent the 14th together, both took to social media to spread a little love. Perhaps they were meant for one another?

    Hough captioned the Instagram pic with, “#regram #truth #love #valentinesday #everyday”

And when the two aren’t spending time with the dogs, they’re still having a ball.

The couple stepped out together the day after Valentine’s at Disneyland in Anaheim, Ca., where they were spotted holding hands and sharing a kiss or two.

One insider eve said,”She’s happier than ever.”

The former Dancing With the Stars pro has dated anyone since her split from Ryan Seacrest in March of 2013. Hough has mostly been spending her time with her close girlfriends.

Hough’s rep hasn’t made any comments about the newly blossoming relationship, but we’re confident they will work out perfectly since they both like to stay active and like to have fun together.

  • Derek Hough And Nina Dobrev Are Now Dating

I’m sorry ladies, but Derek Hough, the four-time winning Dancing With The Stars pro dancer and choreographer, is actually now off the market. The media has not really seen Hough publicly involved with anyone in a while since Shannon Elizabeth, the American Pie star who partnered with Hough in season six of Dancing With The Stars. Now, it has been confirmed that Derek Hough and Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev are now dating (Source: Life and Style Magazine).

Nina Dobrev (born as Nina Constantinova Dobreva) is a Bulgarian-born model who moved to Canada at a young age (Source: IMDb), where she became interested in the performing arts (dance, theatre, and acting). Dobrev is currently known for her roles as Elena Gilbert and Katherine Pierce in the CW show The Vampire Diaries.

Rumors of the couple’s involvement with one another started when a tweet from Dobrev’s Twitter account @ninadobrevj (shown below) expressed her happiness for Hough’s Emmy win.

A tweet later published by Derek exclaimed “You’re the best babe” in response to another tweet that Dobrev posted praising Hough for his win during this year’s Emmys.

According to Life and Style Magazine, the couple was set up by Derek’s sister Julianne, who originally was another pro-dancer on Dancing With The Stars, but left early on to set her sights on a country music career (Source: TV Guide).
