Witney Carson, one of the Dancing With the Stars dance pros, tied the knot with Carson McAllister in January. In a recent interview with People magazine, she dishes on married life and what her new husband thinks of the sexy dances she often takes part in on the show.

It was on New Year’s Day that Witney Carson married Carson McAllister. She says love ever since has been wonderful.

“It’s been so much fun so far,” she said. “I feel like everyone needs to get married because it’s just the best.”

Witney and Carson honeymooned in the Bahamas following their Utah wedding. Prior their wedding, the couple split their time between Utah and L.A. • Eli Manning Explains Stoic Meme-Worthy Face at Super Bowl

Eli Manning maintained a rather stoic face at the Super Bowl–long enough for many to deem it meme-worthy. When brother Peyton Manning’s team, the Denver Broncos, scored a very important touchdown, the cameras captured a shot of Eli Manning, who looked more like he lost his best friend than someone whose brother’s team was close to winning the Super Bowl.

On Monday, Eli explained the face.

“I was focused on whether they were going for two, and knew the defense had to step up and make some stops,” he said in an interview with TMZ.

Twitter lit up with Eli Manning memes almost instantly.

    It continued on Monday, too.

Fortunately, Eli Manning is a good sport about the memes.

He called them, as well as all the reports questioning why he looked so sad, “all good stuff.”

Did you catch a glimpse of Eli Manning live during the Super Bowl? Did you wonder what was with that face?

  • Pia Wurtzbach: Miss Universe Dances With Denver Broncos Cheerleaders, Does “The Dab” Ahead of Super Bowl

Pia Wurtzbach, Miss Universe, was spotted dancing with the Denver Broncos cheerleaders on Friday, just ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl. She joined the squad for an early morning practice and shared snippets via social media.

“Early morning practice with the Broncos Cheerleaders. #?? -Pia,” she captioned this short video clip of dance practice.

“I’ve got a really big team. #? -Pia,” Pia Wurtzbach captioned this photo of herself posing with the Denver Broncos cheerleaders.

Does all this mean Pia Wurtzbach is performing with the Denver Broncos cheerleaders at the Super Bowl on Sunday?

    No.

Instead, in her official capacity as Miss Universe, Pia Wurtzbach is reporting as a special correspondent from the Super Bowl for the TV show Inside Edition.

To ensure she isn’t–or at least hasn’t–chosen signs in Sunday’s face off between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers, Pia Wurtzbach joined members of both teams as they taught her how to dance “the dab,” which became a trend, thanks to Panther’s star Cam Newton.

Even if you’re not a football fan, there’s always something fun to watch on Super Bowl Sunday. In addition to the fun advertisements and the great halftime show, non-fans now know they can tune in to get a glimpse of Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach, too.

  • Peyton Manning Vehemently Denies Doping Claims, Saying ‘the Allegation Is Complete Garbage’

Peyton Manning, quarterback for the Denver Broncos, has denied allegations that he used a banned drug during his recovery from neck surgery in 2011.

A claim was made in an Al Jazeera investigation into doping in sport, which is due to be broadcast on Sunday, that Manning was treated with a human growth hormone during his recovery.

According to the report, Manning was given the banned substance by an Indianapolis clinic, which sent it to his wife.

The 39-year-old quarterback was quick to deny the claim.

“The allegation is complete garbage,” he said in a statement. “It never happened.”

Peyton Manning missed the 2011 season as quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts with a neck injury and joined the Broncos in 2012.

“I really can’t believe somebody would put something like this on the air,” he said. “Whoever said this is making stuff up.”

Al Jazeera is claiming that British masters athlete Liam Collins, who was working undercover for the report, spoke to Charlie Sly, a Texas-based pharmacist who worked at Indianapolis anti-ageing clinic the Guyer Institute in 2011.

Sly allegedly names Manning and several other athletes as having received HGH from the clinic.

In a later statement to Al Jazeera, Sly said Collins recorded his conversations without his knowledge or consent and the recorded conversation is false.

“The statements on any recordings or communications that Al Jazeera plans to air are absolutely false and incorrect.

“Under no circumstances should any of those recordings, statements or communications be aired,” he added.

Manning won the Super Bowl with the Indianapolis Colts in 2006 and is statistically the most successful quarterback in NFL history, according to the BBC.

He holds the records for most passing yards and touchdown passes and has been voted the league’s most valuable player on a record five occasions.

Peyton Manning is currently sidelined with a foot injury.

  • Jana Duggar, Tim Tebow: Is A Set Up Underway?

Jana Duggar and Tim Tebow may be dating (or courting, as is customary in the 19 Kids and Counting household) soon–at least if Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have anything to say about it. Jim Bob has reportedly met with Tim Tebow’s mom, Pam Tebow in his push to match up his eldest daughter with the former Denver Broncos quarterback.

Both Jana Duggar and Tim Tebow come from strict Christian homes where morals and modesty–in addition for a strong faith in Jesus Christ–is a huge part of their fabric. In Touch Weekly questions whether Tebow is ready for dating yet, fearing he might still be a bit out of sorts since being replaced by Peyton Manning and working to determine his next career choice.

RadarOnline reports that Jim Bob Duggar is most definitely hoping for a way for the two to meet. He realizes Tim would make an excellent husband for Jana.

“Tim would be a perfect addition to the family and a feather in his cap. Can you imagine the press attention a Tim-Jana wedding would get?” a source says.

E! News reports that Jana Duggar and Tim Tebow have lots in common, ranging from their love of children (both have several nieces and nephews) to the fact that they’re both virgins.

What’s your take on a union between Jana Duggar and Tim Tebow? If it is something Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are hoping to orchestrate, do you think the two will hit it off? And how do you think each of them will feel knowing they’ve been placed in an arranged courtship?

  • Matt Prater Suspended For Four Games

Matt Prater Suspended For Four Games

Denver Bronco’s kicker Matt Prater has been suspended for the first four games of the season after he violated the NFL’s substance-abuse program.

According to Prater’s lawyer Harvey Steinberg, Prater was first enrolled in the program after he was arrested for drunk driving in August 2011.

Although Prater wasn’t suspended for his DUI, the incident left him open for random alcohol tests. Prater recently tested positive for alcohol, however Steinberg said he was simply having a few drinks at home while he was on vacation, and it shouldn’t violate the policy.

“This guy was off probation. There’s no allegation that he used PEDs or illegal drugs,” Steinberg said. “He was on vacation, had three beers three years after a DUI. Come on, give me break.”

Steinberg did acknowledge that he and Prater had been treated very well, under the circumstances. “Having said that, the NFL under the constraints of the policy couldn’t have treated us better,” Steinberg added.

Although it is frustrating that Matt will be sitting on the bench during the opening games, his punishment could have been a lot worse. Prater was originally looking at a year-long suspension, but Steinberg was able to get his time reduced to only four games.

Prater does not plan on appealing the punishment, and is taking full responsibility for his actions. “I’ve made some mistakes,” Prater said. “I’m accepting full responsibility. I’ll learn from it and come back a better person. I want to apologize to my teammates, my coaches, the Broncos’ organization and the fans.”

  • Denver Broncos Kicker Receives Four-Game Suspension

This football player’s timing couldn’t be worse–Denver Broncos kicker Matt Prater will be suspended for four games for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy. Prater has been with the Broncos since 2008 and was selected to the 2014 Pro Bowl team.

The news that the Denver Broncos kicker was suspended came Sunday morning. Prater confirmed the suspension with The Denver Post, but an announcement from the league isn’t expected until Monday. Prater was charged with DUI in 2011, and as part of the NFL’s substance abuse program, Prater can be fined or suspended if he has a positive test. According to Harvey Steinberg, Prater’s attorney, it sounds like the Denver Broncos suspended their kicker over a relatively small amount of alcohol.

“No one feels worse about this than Matt Prater,” Steinberg said of the suspension. “He feels terribly for his teammates. It’s cost him personally, both professionally and financially. I wonder if we shouldn’t take a second look at the policy when only a couple beers were consumed at home while he was on vacation. Having said that, the NFL under the constraints of the policy couldn’t have treated us better.”

Even though the Denver Broncos kicker will have to miss the first four games over a couple of beers, he isn’t making any excuses for what happened. “I’ve made some mistakes,” Matt Prater said. “I’m accepting full responsibility. I’ll learn from it and come back a better person. I want to apologize to my teammates, my coaches, the Broncos’ organization and the fans.”

According to a tweet from ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, there may be a good reason that Prater isn’t complaining about being suspended from the Broncos for four games. According to Schefter, the kicker was facing a year-long suspension before Steinberg intervened.

Some fans feel that the suspension is too long, considering that Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice was only suspended for two games after being arrested for domestic violence.

The Denver Broncos first regular season game is September 7 against the Indianapolis Colts. Prater should return for the October 12 game against the New York Jets. Until then, Mitch Ewald will likely take over Prater’s placekicking duties. The Broncos signed the recent Indiana University graduate last month.

  • Denver Broncos’ Peyton Manning On Retirement

Denver Broncos QB Peyton Manning has been busy this offseason. With stops at college campuses around the country, speaking engagements for his foundation, and preparation for the next NFL season, Manning could never be accused “slowing down.”

In fact, in an interview with The Associated Press, Manning talked about his recent visits to retiring stars Derek Jeter and David Letterman, as well as why he’s not ready to hang up the cleats just yet.

“Sometimes I sort of kick back and I pause and I think what sorts of things would I miss the most if I wasn’t playing,” Manning said.

“Being in the huddle. That’s what I missed most when I was injured, I’ll say that. I mean, there’s no other type of unity or bond that I think any other job can provide. I know there are meetings, there are video conferences. But that huddle, because of where it takes place: it’s often on the road, in the middle of the field, in front of 80,000 people, it’s unique.

“When you don’t play football anymore, you can broadcast, you can coach, you can be in management, whatever, but you are not allowed to go into the huddle anymore. That huddle is just for players. You can go into the locker room after the game and you can speak to the team, but I think any retired player would probably tell you they miss the huddle.”

His most recent stop took him to Eastern Tennessee, where he spoke highly of Butch Jones and the University of Tennessee football program, saying he’s a big “Butch Jones fan” and that the Tennessee program is heading “in the right direction.”

His stop included more than football, however. He spoke in Knoxville for the annual Go Red For Women campaign, an event that is held every year by the American Heart Association with the goal of preventing heart disease among women.

“I really enjoy coming back to Knoxville. It is an honor for me to be here for such an important cause,” said Manning, as reported by 6 News in Knoxville.

  • Tim Tebow Still Receiving Flak From NFL Peers

When one discusses the biggest flops in the history of the NFL, several names consistently rise to the top: Ryan Leaf, Jamarcus Russell, and Tim Couch. The common theme amongst this group, you ask? All three were highly touted quarterbacks with remarkable college careers and abysmal professional stints.

And, after being selected as the 25th pick in the 2010 NFL draft by the Denver Broncos and lasting only 3 seasons in the NFL, Tim Tebow’s name may join that list anytime soon.

At the time of his selection, many thought Tebow would be the quarterback which would redefine offensive and defensive schemes of football. Known for his toughness and running ability, Tebow had specific packages built around his dynamism. As the old saying goes, though, the proof is in the pudding. Unfortunately, Tebow was tapioca at best.

Because of his poor performance versus the media sensation which surrounded his short professional career, many people still use Tebow as the brunt of their jokes. Case in point: New York Jets coach Rex Ryan.

Ryan had the (mis)fortune of coaching Tebow during his 2012 campaign. From the beginning, it was obvious Ryan wanted nothing to do with Tebow, and the stats show. During his time with the Jets, Tebow played in 12 games but only attempted 8 passes for 39 yards. His running stats were a bit better, but nothing to laud over: 32 carries and 102 yards with 0 touchdowns.

It was these numbers and his personal experience with the former Florida Gator which led Rex Ryan to lambaste Tebow during his recent conversation concerning the Jets’s newly-acquired wide receiver, Eric Decker.

When asked if Decker was worth the money the Jets paid for him and if he would be able to put up similar numbers playing with second-year quarterback Geno Smith, Ryan tried to put the situation into perspective:

“He did catch eight touchdown passes when [Tim] Tebow was the quarterback. Hey, that’s pretty impressive.”

Whether the statement is more of an attempt to put-down Tebow or boost Decker is still to be debated. However, Ryan is not the only one guilty of perpetuating the continuance of Tebow’s legacy despite the fact that he no longer plays the game.

Much attention has been given to Tebow, lately, through the use of comparisons.

The Browns have taken a unique approach to their rookie camp this season due to the precedent set by Tebow during his rookie campaign. When Cleveland selected Johnny Manziel in this year’s NFL draft, they knew they were embracing a media firestorm. Instead of letting the circus come to town, the Browns decided to take the bull by the horns and banned the media from the rookie camp – all in an attempt to avoid the Tebow phenomenon.

Tebow’s personal life also left its own impact on the NFL. The craze “Tewbowing” first started as a parody of Tebow’s touchdown gesture, in which he would get down on one knee and recreate an act of prayer. Tebow’s intense Christian beliefs led many to publicly criticize the quarterback, stating that he should not be using his platform by which to proselytize.

This year, the first openly-gay college football player was selected in the NFL draft – Missouri’s Michael Sam. Since revealing his sexuality, many have come to the support of Sam, praising him for his courage. Tebow fans, however, like to point out the double-standard of free speech in the NFL, citing the fact that while Tebow was criticized for his outward Christian actions, Sam is being bolstered and supported.

What people are seemingly failing to realize is this: As long as people keep talking about Tebow, Tebow will continue to exist. If one would rather not hear news about the man, or derive comparisons to his brief, lackluster career, perhaps the collective mind should just erase his entry by forgetting him.

And, if society cannot accomplish that one simple task on its own, Tebow’s new stint with the already defunct SEC Network will do the trick just fine.

  • Peyton Manning Carrying Green Ball, But Why?

Peyton Manning has never been one to shy away from the media. In fact, he’s one of the most well-spoken, camera-ready athletes, which is obvious when you watch his many commercials and interviews. The Denver Broncos quarterback was tight-lipped however when reporters asked about his newest accessory – a green football.

Manning was spotted clutching the emerald-colored, Lycra-covered football during the start of the Broncos Organized Team Activities today. And although holding it while he walked over to a sea of waiting reporters, and placing it down right in front of them, the quarterback made it clear he didn’t want to talk about it.

“That’s Denver Broncos offensive business,” Manning said as he started his news conference.

Manning wasn’t the only player spotted with the bright football; his No. 1 receiver Demaryius Thomas worked with it as well.

A reporter was quick to make the connection between this football and the one Thomas was required to carry with him during part of the 2012 season, after fumbling in back-to-back games. But when he asked the former Colt, he again refused to answer.

“Like I said, that’s official Denver Broncos offensive business, right,” he stated. “It’s kind of an A and B conversation and you can C your way out of it.”

It would make sense that the team is working on its ball control skills, as Broncos players fumbled 27 times last year and lost 16 of them. Manning himself lost six fumbles, including one in the Super Bowl. The most fumbles Manning ever had in a season before this is three.

    Watch the Super Bowl fumble:

So although the star is hush-hush about the reason for the fancy ball, it’s pretty clear that fumbles are a major concern, one of which offensive coordinator Adam Gase wants to address.

“Guys really hurry themselves, then all of a sudden they get a little lackadaisical with the ball,” Gase stated. “We have to do a better job as a group with that. That was a big downfall for us early, where the ball was on the ground way too much. It’s almost two seasons in a row and we have to address that right away. We’ve got to be so much better as far as holding onto the ball as a group.”

  • Peyton Manning is Better Than Brady, Says Talib

When the best quarterbacks in the NFL are discussed, it’s no surprise that Peyton Manning and Tom Brady are often mentioned. But the debate over who is better out of the two is not so easy to decide.

Former New England Patriots cornerback Aqib Talib, however, has weighed in on the conversation and put his two cents in, although it may be a bit biased considering he was just signed to the Denver Broncos, the team for which Manning plays.

“You gotta go Peyton Manning,” Talib told the NFL Network. “Tom is a good friend of mine — what’s up Tom, baby. Manning had an awesome year. He tore it up. He like set the record for touchdowns. He beat Tom in the AFC Championship. You gotta give it to Peyton. Tom know that’s my dog man, he know.”

Talib was named the 79th player in the network’s 2014 Top 100 player series and just signed a six year, $57 million deal with the Broncos. Talib replaced Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and instead of Talib, the Patriots signed Darrelle Revis.

    See the quarterbacks in action:

“Bill [Belichick] sure didn’t want to give me that money so hey man, he gave it to Revis,” Talib said. “It is what it is.”

Here’s what Twitter had to say:

Talib will join former Patriot Wes Welker on the Broncos. Welker received much criticism for an infamous play during the championship game last year in which he collided with Talib and caused him to leave the field. Belichick was reportedly furious with Welker’s actions and even called them “deliberate.”

Talib, however, has moved passed the questionable play.

“Man, me and Wes we good, man,” he stated. “It’s a football play, man. It just so happened it happened on a stage in the AFC Championship Game. I watched the play 1,000 times. I’m sure Wes didn’t do it on purpose.”

    Watch the play:

Who do you think is a better quarterback? Do you think the Broncos made a good decision in signing Talib? Leave your comments below!

  • Denver Broncos: Terrance Knighton Will Honor His Contract

Denver Broncos defensive tackle Terrance Knighton had a pretty good year in 2013. He was able to score four sacks last season which is more than can be said about some players in the NFL. The only downside to his career with the Broncos is his salary as he’s making far less than other players.

The Denver Post reports that Knighton signed a two-year $4.5 million contract with the Broncos in 2012 that will see him getting paid $2.5 million this year. That’s chump change in comparison to players like Paul Soliai. He’s making $11 million this year with the Atlanta Falcons.

Knighton must be feeling pretty jealous of these players as he got locked into a cheap contract. After all, he joined the Broncos after being benched by Jacksonville Jaguars. He wasn’t a very productive player at that point and the Broncos needed somebody to take up space. After a successful 2013, you’d think Knighton would want to renegotiate for better pay and renegotiate he did.

After all, Knighton is the guy who sacked Tom Brady:

The only problem is that the Broncos weren’t in a position to do so as it was already spending millions on other players.

According to The Denver Post, the Broncos are spending $32 million this year on defensive end DeMarcus Ware, cornerback Aqib Talib and strong safety T.J. Ward. There’s just no room in the budget to accommodate a pay raise for a defensive tackle in the final year of his contract.

The Broncos are also likely to spend quite a bit of money this year on upgrading its offensive lineup:

With all that being said, Knighton isn’t just going to abandon ship. He says that he’s going to honor his contract with the Broncos:

“I’m definitely going to honor the contract. I want to get something done and I’d like to get something done here. I don’t want to bounce around. But I’m at the point now where once the season starts, I’m just strictly football.”

Besides, Knighton and the rest of the team will likely want revenge for the embarrassing loss they suffered against the Seattle Seahawks at this year’s Super Bowl. He’ll get his chance on August 7 as the Broncos will be playing against the Seahawks in their first game of the year.

  • Emmanuel Sanders Signs Deal With Denver Broncos

Wide receiver, Emmanuel Sanders, has signed a three-year deal with the Denver Broncos last Sunday. The deal is worth $18 million if Sanders is able to achieve all the performance bonuses in the contract.

However, striking the new deal with the Broncos left Sanders’ agent in hot water. According to a team official, the 25-year-old football star’s agent did not adhere to the rules of negotiations.

Reports say that Steve Weinberg, Sanders’ agent, has already accepted a deal with the Kansas City Chiefs. He then started negotiations with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers without providing information about the negotiations with the Chiefs. In the end, the agent finally signed an agreement with the Broncos on behalf of Sanders.

Sources previously stated via ESPN that other teams might be hesitant to sign Sanders due to medical concerns. Sanders sustained injuries in the 2010 season and as a result, has a screw placed in each foot.

Weinberg’s process angered executives in the 49ers organization, as he blew off several meetings regarding Sanders that were already scheduled. One of the executives said, “This was one of the worst situations in modern football negotiations.” Weinberg had no comment about the allegations.

On Sunday’s news conference, Sanders talked about the issue saying that there was no handshake, and that the negotiations with the other teams were close, but not anything official.

John Elway, Broncos’ executive vice president and general manager, says that they did not have an idea that there were issues with other teams when they were in negotiations with the player. He also said that miscommunication in negotiations happens all the time.

The Denver Broncos officially welcomed Sanders by tweeting an image of the player with the caption “Emmanuel Sanders has officially signed with the #Broncos. RT to welcome him to Denver!”

Sanders also mentioned that he is happy to have ended up with a team that he wanted to be part of.

  • DeMarcus Ware Signs $30 Million Deal with Broncos

DeMarcus Ware became the Denver Broncos’ last defensive addition in free agency Wednesday, when he agreed to a three-year, $30 million deal with the team.

The deal will reportedly pay Ware $13 million in 2014 – $250,000 more than he was slated to make with the Dallas Cowboys, who released him Tuesday.

The contract is contingent upon the 31-year-old Ware passing a physical exam Wednesday.

Ware, out of work less than 24 hours, apparently received attention from at least a dozen teams after Dallas let him go.

Along with Ware, the Broncos added quarterback Aqib Talib and safety T.J. Ward in less than a day as well. The latter two were acquired Tuesday.

“They’re trying to make a statement – a statement we’re a team to be reckoned with,” the 31-year-old Ware said.

“Their mentality is a ‘now’ mentality. Not looking forward to next season or the season after that, the time is now,” added Ware.

The Cowboys released Ware to save $7.4 million against the salary cap. Jerry Jones, the Cowboys’ owner and general manager, called the decision “extremely difficult” in a statement released Tuesday.

Ware recorded 117 sacks in nine seasons with the Cowboys and earned Pro Bowl honors every year from 2006 to 2012.  Ware was set to count $16.003 million against Dallas’ cap with a $12.25 million base salary before he was let go.

  • Dallas Cowboys Cut Two Pro Bowl Players

Dallas Cowboys Cut Two Pro Bowl Players

The National Football League’s first day of free agency started with a bang. After another disappointing season in which the Dallas Cowboys once again failed to make the playoffs, team owner Jerry Jones and company decided to release the organization’s all-time sack leader DeMarcus Ware and Pro Bowl wide receiver Miles Austin.

Ware has been a total defensive beast for the Boys for nine seasons in which the linebacker has tallied 117 sacks, averaging 21 sacks a season. However, the 31-year-old former first-rounder is coming off an injury-plagued season on a defensively challenged Dallas squad. Ware only got to the quarterback six times in 2013.

The move made sense for the Cowboys because it freed up $7.4 million in cap space. Even still, it was a tough decision to make for Jones. “A decision like this, involving a man who is a cornerstone player in the history of your franchise, is extremely difficult.”

Additionally, Dallas has also officially released two-time Pro Bowler Miles Austin. The move will save Dallas $5.5 million against the cap.

One of the former Cowboys already has a job. Ware signed a three-year contract worth $30 million with the Denver Broncos not 24 hours after being released by the Cowboys. A whopping $20 million of the contract is guaranteed. The Broncos, who just got pummeled in the Super Bowl by the Seattle Seahawks, also signed cornerback Aqib Talib to a six-year deal worth $57 million, of which $26 million is guaranteed.

Now, the Cowboys have to go out and try to find a defensive replacement on par with Ware, which won’t be easy. There are rumors that the team is interested in Broncos defensive end Robert Ayers, a five-year player out of Tennessee.

  • DeMarcus Ware Inks New Deal With Denver Broncos

DeMarcus Ware was released from the Dallas Cowboys recently, and he already has a new job with the Denver Broncos. The veteran pass rusher became one of the most wanted free agents as soon as he was let go, and the Broncos took advantage.

He has been one of the stars on a struggling Dallas Cowboys for several years, and perhaps after being added to the Broncos he will be able to make even more of a difference for them.

According to ESPN, DeMarcus Ware has reached an agreement with the Denver Broncos on a three-year, $30 million contract, which includes $20 million in guaranteed money. The deal is set to earn Ware $13 million this season, which is $250,000 more than he would have received from the Dallas Cowboys.

Ware is an aging star in the NFL, and at the age of 31, his best days may be behind him. However, he may be able to make a difference for the Broncos in his last few seasons in the NFL. Last season, he was plagued with injury, and only had 6 recorded sacks, although he was only forced to miss 3 games after toughing it out. He had averaged 15.5 sacks per season up until then.

The power of the offense is what got the Denver Broncos to the Super Bowl last season, but perhaps their defense will receive a big boost with the addition of DeMarcus Ware, and be an even bigger threat next year. The Cowboys released Ware, their all-time leader in sacks, in order to save $7.4 million against the salary cap.

In addition to DeMarcus Ware being released, Julius Peppers was also released from the Chicago Bears, and as one of the top free agents on defense, it will be interesting to see who ends up signing the veteran defensive end.

Ware had spent his entire career with the Dallas Cowboys after being drafted in the first round of the 2005 NFL draft. The all-star pass rusher recorded 117 sacks in nine seasons.

DeMarcus Ware had a lackluster season in 2013 due to injury, but was selected to the Pro Bowl every year from 2006 until 2012. Will he be able to make the Pro Bowl again, and be a star with the Broncos?

  • Floyd Mayweather Jr. Denies Losing $10 Mil on Denver

Did you put a few bucks on Denver to beat Seattle in yesterday’s Super Bowl? If you did, of course, you’re probably feeling a little sorry for yourself and your lighter wallet. But if misery loves the company, then you were most likely loving the fact that boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. lost a staggering $10 million on Denver yesterday. But now Mayweather is denying it all.

Yes, many of us know about Mayweather’s propensity to put big money on games and his general love of gambling. However, the boxer contends that the internet rumors are false.

And if you believe his Instagram post, he didn’t put a single penny on the biggest game of the year.

The luxury-loving pugilist has said that he rarely bets on his own sport of boxing. He also claims that he has never bet on himself, which seems like the surest bet of all considering he is undefeated.

You can see Mayweather in the ring on May 3rd in Vegas. The fight will be against either Amir Khan or Marcos Maidana. If you have an opinion on who you think he should take on, go to Mayweather’s Twitter or Instagram page and cast your vote.

  • Seattle Seahawks’ Earl Thomas Isn’t Very Good At Madden NFL

In the near future, we may be faced with a year without a Super Bowl. It’s certainly something that I don’t want to think about, but it could happen. If that ever were the case, we can at least rest easy that the teams participating could just play Madden NFL to decide the victor.

Seattle Seahawks’ safety Earl Thomas and Denver Broncos’ running back Knowshon Moreno were at the Xbox lounge this week and decided to play a friendly game of Madden NFL on the Xbox One. While both players are no doubt very good on the field, Moreno is obviously the better Madden player as the final score of their exhibition match was 34-0.

According to the annual Madden NFL simulation, the Broncos will win the Super Bowl 31-28. With two wins for the Broncos in Madden, the Seahawks will have to fight that much harder this Sunday to beat back the forces of foreshadowing currently gripping the team. Maybe a quick rematch on Saturday between the two can realign the cosmic forces in the Seahawks’ favor.

  • Richard Sherman Sticks By Peyton Manning Comments

It’s not unusual for a professional athlete to talk a little smack in the days leading up to a big game, but the situation is magnified when that games is the super bowl, and then blown up even more when the player doing the talking is media lightning rod Richard Sherman.

Since breaking the internet with his post-game interview after leading his Seattle Seahawks to victory in the NFC title game, Sherman has become one of the most polarizing sports figures in recent memory. However, that hasn’t stopped him from speaking his mind when it comes to the game he is so passionate about.

In an interview a month ago Sherman was asked to rank the top ten smartest quarterbacks in the NFL. Although he ranked Peyton Manning, his competition in the upcoming super bowl, number 1, he wasn’t so high on the QB’s arm strength: “His arm, however, is another story. His passes will be accurate and on time, but he throws ducks.”

When asked during a Seahawks media day if he stood by his comments, Sherman refused to back down. Although, it must be noted that he did so while maintaining the utmost respect for Manning:

“He’s a great quarterback, he does a great job. But at the same time, when he catches the ball, he doesn’t necessarily catch the laces all the time. But he throws an accurate ball, regardless of how he catches it, how he gets it — he delivers it on time and accurately.”

While Sherman has drawn both criticism and support leading up the championship game, it is without question that he realizes the gravity of his current situation. It seems as if this time he would rather let his play make the statement while still maintaining some of the spark in his words.

  • Denver Broncos Beat Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl Simulation

The Denver Broncos have beaten the Seattle Seahawks to claim the Lombardi Trophy in 2014 . . . or so sayeth Madden 25.

The popular video game franchise from Electronic Arts has correctly predicted the winner of 8 of the past 10 Super Bowls, and now it’s saying that the Broncos, currently favored by 3 points in Vegas, will edge the Seahawks on Groundhog Day, 31-28 in overtime. If that bears out, then that fact will add to the already legendary career of Peyton Manning, who would become the first NFL quarterback ever to lead two different franchises to Super Bowl victories (he previously won with the Indianapolis Colts in 2006).

There’s plenty in the simulation that would keep fans glued to the TV, regardless of whether some of the anticipated commercial spots pan out. Loudmouth cornerback Richard Sherman has an interception for a touchdown that puts Seattle up 10-7 at the half. Manning shuts him up in the second with a TD pass to Demaryius Thomas, which is shortly followed with another score by Knowshon Moreno. Seattle stays alive, thanks to TDs by Russell Wilson and Marshawn Lynch, and a 2-point conversion sends the game to overtime. But Broncos kicker Matt Prater seals it with a 48-yard touchdown to win in the first OT. Manning gets the MVP nod with 322 passing yards, 3 TDs, and one interception.

    Good game, right?

Well, odds are strong that EA gets it right again. In addition to picking 80% of the games in the past decade, the simulation has had other impressive prognostications. Last year, it predicted the winner (Ravens over 49ers), the spread (3 points), and the MVP (Joe Flacco). The year before, it picked the winner (Giants over Patriots), got within one point of the spread, and called the MVP (Eli Manning). The only two years the game got the winner wrong (Super Bowls XLII and XLV), each game was decided by a one-possession score. It’s also either gotten the spread right or gotten within a point of the spread in three other contests (XXXVIII, XLI, and XLIII).

All that’s left is to wait and see whether weather moves the game date. As yet, there’s no word whether that give EA a mulligan if they got it wrong.

  • Demaryius Thomas Is Up For The Challenge, Wants Richard Sherman To Cover Him

The upcoming Super Bowl will be host to one of the most exciting match-ups in recent history. It will feature the top offense, the Denver Broncos, facing the top Defense, the Seattle Seahawks.

The game will also feature a match-up that has two of the game’s players already talking about the excitement, and with Demaryius Thomas and Richard Sherman set to face off in an epic battle.

Demaryius Thomas is welcoming the challenge of going up against Richard Sherman, and wants him to cover him during the Super Bowl.

Sherman is believed to be the best cornerback in the NFL, and he also recently said that Thomas was one of the top five receivers. Richard Sherman has more interceptions than any other player, and is also one of the toughest players in the league.

Richard Sherman’s recent antics following the NFC Championship Game have gained plenty of attention in the media, including an outrageous post-game interview with Erin Andrews, He also received a fine later in the week for taunting Michael Crabtree.

Unlike Crabtree, who was referred to as a “sorry receiver” by Richard Sherman, he had high praise for Demaryius Thomas, and looks forward to guarding him during the Super Bowl. Despite his recent antics, Richard Sherman has had an excellent season, and is a likely candidate for defensive player of the year.

His jersey also made it to the top ten list of highest selling NFL jerseys of the past year, with Peyton Manning and Russell Wilson coming in first and second. Sherman was the only defender to make the list, with everyone else being a running back or quarterback.

Sherman had high praise for Thomas, who is the favorite target of Peyton Manning, saying “He put together the type of year and done everything in his power to put himself in that conversation. He’s made big catches, he’s got a lot of run after the catches, he turns some small plays into huge plays, and I think that he’s a great receiver.”

It will be one of the top match-ups of the Super Bowl, and while it is being talked about already, fans are likely to have an eye on the what goes on between Thomas and Sherman.

Demaryius Thomas is also able to recognize the quality of Richard Sherman, and when talking about the upcoming match-up between the two of them, he said “(Sherman’s) a great player. I’d love to have that match-up to show what kind of player I am. I don’t know if we’ll match up, but like I said, he’s a great player.”

The Broncos bring the top offense in the league while led by their elite quarterback, Peyton Manning, and the Seattle Seahawks have the top defense, which has been nicknamed “The Legion Of Boom,” in addition to their dedicated fan base, which has been called “The 12th Man.”

Whether they end up matching up against each other or not, Demaryius Thomas and Richard Sherman will certainly be prepared, and it should be a highly competitive game on both sides of the ball.
