  • Ben Affleck and Matt Damon Comedy Pilot Picked Up by CBS

Famed Hollywood heart-throbs Ben Affleck and Matt Damon aren’t just acting in front of the cameras these days. They’ve taken on the role of screenwriters behind the scenes as well. After the Oscar-winning success of their first collaborative effort, “Good Will Hunting,” one can only expect impeccable quality from this dynamic duo.

Not only do they have an admirable ‘bromance’ that dates back more than 15 years, they also have unprecedented on-screen chemistry.

Now, they’re moving their creative ingenuity from the big screen to sitcom TV. Entertainment Weekly confirms that the two have struck a deal with CBS to produce a comedic sitcom entitled, “More Time with Family.

After a crucial bidding war, CBS landed the deal. However, 20th Century Fox also placed a put pilot deal on the table. The put pilot deal basically covers the show, stating that if CBS doesn’t approve the show for a full series, the network will be forced to pay penalties.

So far, the CBS network has ordered a pilot commitment for the sitcom, which will star comedian Tom Papa. In addition to screenwriting, Affleck and Damon will also serve as the executive producers for the project.

The half-hour sitcom will be produced through Pearl Street Films in conjunction with the network. Based on Matt Damon’s personal experiences with a glint of Papa’s stand-up humor, the dynamics they bring to the table will be the sitcom’s foundation. Papa portrays a man who undergoes new life experiences with career changes, leaving behind his life of continuous travel on the road to spend more quality time with his family.

  • Tebow Trade Rumors Persist; Peyton Manning Officially A Bronco

With the recent imminent deal between Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, the sports world has been flooded with speculation and rumors as to what the team will do with their current quarterback, Tim Tebow. Now that the announcement has been officially made that Manning is a Bronco, that speculation has only increased, due mainly in part to comments reportedly made by John Elway at today’s press conference, including his opinion that the Broncos would not be a “super bowl team” with Tebow starting.

Several teams are said to be interested in acquiring Tebow should he be released from Denver despite his recent reputation for erratic performance, including the Jacksonville Jaguars, which would place him in familiar territory. While no decisions have been made yet as to his fate, the talk of trades has swept around the NFL and was addressed in the press conference today.

“I know what kind of player Tim Tebow is, what kind of person he is, what an awesome year it was,” Manning said. “If Tim Tebow is here, I’m going to be the best teammate. If other opportunities are presented to him, I’m going to wish him the best.”

The 5-year, $96 million deal came with other perks for Manning as well; famed Broncos quarterback Frank Tripucka reportedly asked Peyton to take his old football number–18–so the team has brought it out of retirement just for him.

With so much in the news about Manning and his move to Denver, hype has spread to Twitter, where an unverified personal account for the athlete has been set up.

  • Denver Broncos Finalizing Deal With Peyton Manning

In a sudden–rather shocking–move by Peyton Manning, it was announced yesterday that he had finally made his choice of teams and will be playing for the Denver Broncos next season. Now Manning and Denver are working out the details of his contract, which could mean upwards of $95 million over the course of five years–quite a deal for a player who was out all of last season due to a string of neck injuries. But after passing all his physicals and displaying the throwing ability regained after his surgery, any worries the higher-ups in Denver had about his performance were soothed. Besides, Manning is a hot commodity– the NFL’s only four-time MVP–and before Denver snatched him up, he was also being courted by the Tennessee Titans and the San Francisco 49ers. The move to Denver comes just weeks after the Indianapolis Colts released him rather than pay out a $28 million bonus.

Of course, many are wondering what this means for current QB Tim Tebow, who is rumored to be traded after Manning’s contract is complete.

Tebow is said to have energized the team last season and helped lead them to the playoffs, but despite having a large fan base, some in the sports world think his game is too erratic to make him a dependable quarterback. The Broncos Vice President of football operations John Elway, who has developed quite a close relationship with Manning over recent years and helped bring him over to Denver, never seemed too impressed with Tebow despite the buzz that has surrounded him since the beginning of his career.

Broncos defensive end Robert Ayers said about Tebow, “I wouldn’t say I feel bad for him. It’s a business. And I’m pretty sure Tim understands that. … We wish him luck, no matter what he does. I hope he’s here. He’s a great leader, a great locker room guy.”

  • Microsoft And LG Sign Patent Licensing Agreement

Microsoft and LG have announced today that they have entered into a patent license agreement covering LG’s Android and Chrome OS devices.

This agreement expands upon a previous agreement between the two companies, and is one of ten similar deals with other Android and Chrome OS device makers. Other licensees include HTS, Acer, and Samsung. With the inclusion of LG, Microsoft now has licensing agreements covering 70% of all Android-based phones sold in the United States.

While the terms and details of the agreement have not been disclosed, the deal presumably allows LG to use technologies covered by Microsoft’s patents in their Android and Chrome OS devices for a fee. Microsoft’s intellectual property licensing program was begun in 2003. Since then Microsoft has been party to over 1,100 agreements.

  • iPhone 5 Rumor: Sprint Paid $20 Billion For Exclusive Release

There have been some whopping iPhone 5 related rumors the past few months, but if this turns out to be true it will dwarf them all. According to BRG.com, a source has confirmed that Sprint will purchase $20 billion worth of iPhones over the next four years. Which equates to around 30 million iPhones.

    Sprint iPhone 5 exclusive

The reason for the mammoth spending is it would provide Sprint an exclusive launch of the iPhone 5. Meaning, at the Apple event, on October 4th, Apple will be announcing the iPhone 4S for AT&T and Verizon, while Sprint will enjoy the initial release of iPhone 5 all by themselves. The article states an interesting caveat concerning the deal; the exclusivity would only run until the first quarter of next year.

Would a 3-4 month exclusive iPhone 5 launch be worth $20 billion?
    Tell us.

Along with the news, BGR also added some interesting tech specs for the handset:

    – Large 4-inch screen, similar to LG’s NOVA hi-res display
    – 1GB RAM
    – 32GB storage
    – Slightly larger design, but skinnier and a larger battery

As with all iPhone 5 rumors, this is all speculation and trusting that someone’s “inside source” is correct. If it turns out to be true, this has the potential for a huge shake-up in the mobile world. Will the exclusive release for a few months be enough to make up a $20 billion paycheck? A transaction that BGR states would lose them money until 2014.
