  • Katie Holmes Talks Kissing “Dawson’s Creek” Costars, Who Was the Better Kisser?

Katie Holmes was a guest on The Late Late Show on Wednesday night, and she chatted with James Corden–along with fellow guests Judd Apatow and Ryan Reynolds–about her time on Dawson’s Creek. The talk soon turned to kissing, and the question arose about which of her former costars–James Van Der Beek or Joshua Jackson–was the better kisser?

Playing coy, Katie Holmes turned the tables on Corden.

“Who do you think?” she asked him.

“I think Der Beek, because I would get straight up in his grill,” James Corden said.

“I went to high school with Josh, and I can tell you right now, he’s a terrific kisser,” Ryan Reynolds said. He and Joshua Jackson attended Kitsilano Secondary School in Vancouver together.

“Well, I mean if he says so…” Katie Holmes said, laughing at the foolishness the three men conjured.

Those who remember the days of Dawson’s Creek likely recall that Katie Holmes and Joshua Jackson were dating when the show first aired. That would have made choosing Van Der Beek as the better kisser a bit uncomfortable.

Another uncomfortable topic that came up on The Late Late Show was how kissing an actor on TV compares with a real-life first kiss.

“It’s so awkward because with a first kiss in [real] life, if it doesn’t go well you can kinda be like, ‘Oh I gotta get home,’ or ‘thanks.’ You never have to deal with that person again,” Katie Holmes explained. “But on screen, you’re gonna have to have lunch and you’re probably have to work together tomorrow, so it’s a little bit [awkward].”

Something else that’s awkward is the rumor flying around (yes, it’s still out there) that claims Katie Holmes is dating Jamie Foxx.

Do you think there’s any truth to the rumor?

  • Katie Holmes Opens Up About Life After Tom Cruise, But Won’t Discuss Former Married Life

Katie Holmes did something she doesn’t often do during a recent interview with More magazine. She talked about ex-husband Tom Cruise–or at least her life since divorcing him.

“You’ve got to keep going. In every part of your life,” she said of her life after Tom Cruise, with whom she had a daughter, Suri, before they split in 2012. “Focus on the positive. Stay creative. Go to things that interest you. Do work that’s fulfilling. Challenge yourself. What’s amazing about the human spirit, there are so many people doing inspiring things. If you focus on that, it makes your life richer.”

When asked about her dating life, Katie Holmes came to an abrupt halt, however.

“That’s not something I want to answer…I don’t have a five or 10-year plan. I feel like I’m still a teenager in a lot of ways. I do a lot of things I did then. I paint, I color. I cook sometimes. I still feel like a girl. I don’t quite feel like a woman, maybe because I’m the baby of my family. I’ll probably be 90 and feel like, ‘Not a woman yet!’ Ha!” she said.

Something else off-topic for Katie Holmes was the years she spent as Tom Cruise’s wife.

“Holmes doesn’t discuss that part of her life,” More writer Joanna Schneller said.

The former Dawson’s Creek star is interested in exploring new options in her career, however.

“I feel more creative,” she said. “I feel ready. When I was a young actor, things happened quickly. My second job was ‘Dawson’s Creek,’ and suddenly I was known. I was 18 years old; I had no life experience. I felt, ‘I don’t have anything to bring. I don’t know what it’s like to be, say, really angry. I’m doing the best I can.’ But with age I’ve gained confidence. I understand the kind of stories I want to tell. I have more experience in business. I feel more certain.”

Is it a bit curious that Katie Holmes remains so mum about her life with Tom Cruise? Might she still fear the repercussions of his connections to the Church of Scientology?

It sounds like her life has improved significantly since divorcing Tom Cruise–and hopefully continues to improve. She is focused on Suri’s upbringing, which is her most important role for now.

  • Angie Harmon, Sasha Alexander Out of Work as TNT Axes “Rizzoli & Isles”

Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander will soon find themselves out of work as TNT announced this week they are ending their crime drama, Rizzoli & Isles. The show’s seventh season will air this summer, and that will be its last.

Angie Harmon plays the role of homicide detective Jane Rizzoli alongside Sasha Alexander’s role as medical examiner Maura Isles.

TNT has recently undergone some management revamping. New boss Kevin Reilly reportedly prefers both edgier shows, as well as those that develop episode by episode. Rizzoli & Isles features individual stories that begin and ended in each episode.

“It had a good run,” Reilly said on Thursday. “It felt like it was time.”

Angie Harmon’s initial claim to fame came during her work as a fashion model. Her first big acting job was in Law & Order.

Sasha Alexander is a Dawson’s Creek alum, on which she played the role of Gretchen Witter. She starred for the first two seasons of NCIS as Special Agent Kate Todd.

Are you a Rizzoli & Isles fan? Are you disappointed to learn that Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander have but one summer season left to star in these roles?

  • Katie Holmes Not All That Keen On a ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Reunion — ‘I Don’t Want Them to Grow Up’

Katie Holmes is not all that eager to see a reunion or reboot of Dawson’s Creek any time soon.

The 36-year-old actress told Yahoo! Style that there are no plans for a Dawson’s Creek reunion and doesn’t want to revisit the characters all grown up.

“I don’t know, does it work today?” Holmes told fashion editor Joe Zee. “I don’t want them to grow up. You know, it’s kind of like your parents — they never get out of their fifties, that’s where they are.”

When we last left the Dawson’s crew, which included Joey (Katie Holmes), Leery (James Van Der Beek), Jen Lindley (Michelle Williams), Pacey Witter (Joshua Jackson), and Jack McPhee (Kerr Smith), among others, they were in their mid-20’s. The finale in 2003 actually fast-forwarded from college to seeing the characters out in the world.

In the finale of the series, Katie Holmes‘ character was living in New York City as a book editor. She eventually chose Pacey over Dawson.

“We just did it, we all enjoyed it,” Katie Holmes said of the five years she spent on the show. “It was of a certain time, it was pre-Internet. There was an innocence there.”

Just because she is not all that keen for a reunion doesn’t mean Katie Holmes doesn’t enjoy running into her former cast mates from time to time.

When asked if she sees her cast mates, Katie Holmes responded, “Every now and then…. I just saw Michelle, I just saw her in Cabaret, she was amazing. So we all run into each other now and then.”

  • Katie Holmes Ditched Busy Philipps At Dawson’s Creek

Katie Holmes apparently left Busy Philipps, one of her closest friends and her Dawson’s Creek co-star, high and dry after she met and married Tom Cruise.

Many friendships, especially between stars who work together for years, fizzle slowly and come to and end. Or the status of a friendship changes from real life friends to Facebook friends.

But, with Katie Holmes’ friendship with Busy Philipps, it seems there is a definite date to pinpoint.

That would be when Katie Holmes married Tom Cruise after their short, whirlwind romance.

Busy Philipps was on Watch What Happens Live when she was asked if she kept in touch with Katie Holmes after Dawson’s Creek.

She said she had no idea what was going on with Katie Holmes all of a sudden.

    #TBT my first job 🙂

“I left her several voicemail messages,” Philipps said.

She added, “I just remember when it happened and I was like, ‘Are you on a plane in San Francisco with Tom Cruise? What’s happening?’ And then I saw her like three years later and she had a kid.”

We just can't help how happy we are to be together…

A photo posted by Busy Philipps (@busyphilipps) on

Ouch. That had to hurt a little!

After that, Katie Holmes quickly went under the radar and Holmes got pregnant soon after the wedding.

Then a whole mess of speculation as to what was going on inside Katie Holmes’ relationship with Tom Cruise began swirling around. Of course, there was the Scientology thing, and many other issues.

    Happy Wednesday

A photo posted by Katie Holmes (@katieholmes212) on

When she was asked if she had any sort of speculation about what was going on with Katie Holmes, she admitted only that she was concerned along with the rest of the world.

That’s kind of a crummy way to end a friendship.

What do you think of Katie Holmes ditching her friend, Busy Philipps, without any explanation?

  • Katie Holmes Talks ‘Dawson’s Creek,’ ‘All We Had’

Katie Holmes spoke with Elle Canada recently, and shared how she never moved past playing Joey Potter on the hit show Dawson’s Creek.

“I don’t know if I have moved past it, but I don’t really care,” she says candidly. “I had a ball doing it, and it’s really nice to be a part of something that did affect people.”

In addition to launching Katie Holmes’ career, Dawson’s Creek launched the careers of some of her co-stars as well. James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, and Joshua Jackson all got their big breaks on the WB show.

“It created a lot of opportunities for all of us,” Holmes said.

These days Katie Holmes is enjoying a new opportunity–one of directing a film. Her directorial debut, All We Had, is based on a novel by Annie Weatherwax. She will also star in the film, which is said to be a mother-daughter drama.

“There aren’t as many movies being made, period, so the challenge is to create projects for yourself,” she said during her Elle interview. “Sometimes offers are flying in, and sometimes they’re not.”

Would Katie Holmes consider a Dawson’s Creek reunion show if the rest of the cast members were game? Michelle Williams would love it–even though her character died.

“I would very happily do a reunion show, I don’t know what it would be,” Williams said at a Comic-Con press conference for Oz: The Great and Powerful a couple of years back. “My character died in the end, so there are certain limitations for me. It’s either I come back as a ghost or I’m shot through a lot of gauzy, hazy light as my 19-year-old self.”

CBS News reports that Katie Holmes did in fact express interest in doing a Dawson’s Creek special. How would she ever fit it in between working on All We Had and being a mom to daughter Suri Cruise?

Do you think fans would be excited if the former Mrs. Tom Cruise were to return to the small screen in a reunion episode of Dawson’s Creek? How would a grown up Joey Potter go over these days?

  • Katie Holmes Not Looking Back at Tom Cruise or Dawson’s Creek

It used to be that Katie Holmes lived in danger of being known for the rest of her career as the girl who played Joey Potter on Dawson’s Creek. Being stuck with that as her identity is almost funny, since Holmes would not even show up in person to audition for the role. She sent in a video tape made in her basement.

“I don’t know if I have moved past [Dawson’s Creek], but I don’t really care,” Holmes recently told Elle Canada. “I had a ball doing it, and it’s really nice to be a part of something that did affect people. And it created a lot of opportunities for all of us. You can’t really ask for much more than that.”

Of course, Holmes has another chapter of her life that might be harder to shake than the Joey Potter chapter. She was Mrs. Tom Cruise, Scientology wife, the girl he jumped on Oprah’s couch for. And the girl who America cheered for when she finally snuck away with her daughter while Cruise was away on a film shoot.

Does Holmes ever regret any of these chapters in her life?

“I’ve always been adventurous,” she says. “I liked who I was at 20, and I think that you just have to go along for the ride with everything. I have a lot to be grateful for, so I do count my blessings every day. I really do.”

“I just keep going,” she says. “That’s what I do: I don’t really think about it; I kind of just keep going.”

Nowadays, Holmes is working like she used to, lining up one film project after another while she can.

“It’s a very hard business,” she says. “You have to work hard every day and hope for the best. Sometimes offers are flying in, and sometimes they’re not. There aren’t as many movies being made, period, so the challenge is to create projects for yourself. But that’s fun too. You have to make your own opportunities.

“I think ambition is a wonderful thing, but I see a lot of people who might be a little bit more ambitious [than me]; I just do what I do and go home. I have a balanced life. I like having different experiences, and I like being inspired.”

Creating projects for herself has led Holmes to try her hand at directing. Her project is All We Had, based on the book by Annie Weatherwax.

“I’m scared,” Holmes confessed about directing, “but I’m going to give it a try,”

Holmes said she is always “looking for stories that really show women in the best light,”

“I have three sisters and a ton of aunts and a lot of friends, so I’m constantly amazed and inspired by all kinds of women and the dedication it takes to have a career and be a mother,” she says. “I’m also amazed by the community of women it takes for one person to really succeed. I think that that’s really important to remember.”

  • Sasha Alexander Has An Annual Tradition — A ‘Gratitude’ Meal with Her Besties

Sasha Alexander likes to end her year on a high note.

Each year, the actress gathers her best girlfriends and treats them to a very special meal.

“At the end of every year I always feel very reflective, and so I always do a gratitude dinner or a gratitude lunch to thank [my girlfriends] for being there for me, and for being amazing women,” Alexander told People.

Alexander told the magazine that the annual celebration begins with the Dawson’s Creek alum tying a red piece of yarn to guests’ wrists as they arrive for good luck and health.

“It’s an old Italian tradition,” said the Rizzoli & Isles actress. “It’s something you’re supposed to keep on as long as it stays on.”

    Check out #peoplemagazine #gratitudelunch @muscularcalves @hilaryshor @anniebelangerwehrle @negs8 Love you ladies!!!

A photo posted by Sasha Alexander (@thesashaalexander) on

The menu plays an important part in the tradition and always features dishes with an Italian flair. The 41-year-old actress told People that this year’s meal includes recipes from Sophia Loren, who is the mother of Alexander’s husband, Edoardo Ponti.

“The ricotta cake is pretty amazing, I have to say,” she said when asked which dish is her favorite. “It’s pretty awesome, especially if you serve it with raspberries on top!”

The highlight of the celebration is when Alexander takes some time to thank each of her friends individually for their role in her life.

“I really treasure the friendships with the women in my life because they’re the ones I call and can talk about anything with,” she said. “We all have such busy and full lives, and especially when you have children and families, and you’re juggling work and kids, you just don’t get to spend that time together to just say, ‘Thank you’ and ‘You’re so awesome.’”

  • Katie Holmes Moves to L.A., Talks “Dawson’s Creek” Reunion

After living in New York with daughter Suri since 2012 when she and Tom Cruise called it quits, Katie Holmes has decided to jump coasts.

The 35-year-old recently bought a home in the Los Angeles area in order to revamp her acting career.

“New York has been very good to both of us. I like feeling a part of something big,” Holmes said.

“I love the community in New York. I love New Yorkers. I ran into someone on the street the other day that I went to high school with – I love the moments of spontaneity every day.”

After appearing in popular films like Batman Begins and The Giver, Holmes is set to return to the big screen in 2015 in The Woman in Gold, an American-British drama also starring Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds, Jonathan Pryce, and Charles Dance.

Holmes has also been approached about a Dawson’s Creek reunion to which she is ” hugely flattered.”

“I think that show touched a certain generation,” she told Gossip Cop. “It was innocent at a time when innocence was very valued and present. But it had that teen angst that really revealed what everybody was going through.”

Holmes appeared on the popular WB show from 1998-2003 playing Joey Potter.

Even though no official plans have been made, Holmes thinks that she understands why everyone seems to want a reunion.

“Maybe we all want to feel those feelings again.”

As of last week, Dawson’s Creek is no longer available for streaming on Netflix.

In other Katie Holmes news, it was recently reported that she was starting a relationship with singer Robin Thicke after his public (and slightly embarrassing) attempts to win back his wife, Paula Patton, fell flat.

“They’ve arranged a date in New York after his tour ends,” an insider said. “Everyone’s encouraging this as they have so much in common and if anyone can get him over Paula, it’s Katie.”

Niether Holmes or Thicke have commented on the nature of their relationship.

  • Katie Holmes Talks Possible Dawson’s Creek Reunion

Katie Holmes made herself a household name after starring in the hit teen drama Dawson’s Creek.

Holmes portrayed the character Joey Potter from 1998-2003, and although the show hasn’t aired a new episode in over ten years, she said she may be open for a reunion.

Since the series ended, there has been a major demand for a reunion, which Holmes calls “hugely flattering.”

“I think that show touched a certain generation,” Holmes told Gossip Cop. “It was innocent at a time when innocence was very valued and present. But it had that teen angst that really revealed what everybody was going through.”

Rumors of a possible reunion have circulated for years, but so far none have proven to be true. So, why is everyone dying to see Holmes return to the creek?

“Maybe we all want to feel those feelings again,” Holmes speculates. “I don’t know. Maybe that’s why they want a reunion.”

Holmes has moved on since Dawson’s Creek, and has become one of Hollywood’s top actresses. Despite her successful career, Holmes says that she will always have a special place for the show that gave her her start.

“It was very difficult for me to leave Wilmington, to have my little glass bubble burst and move on,” she said. “I hate change. On the other hand it was refreshing to play someone else.”

  • Katie Holmes Says Acting Dry Spell Had Nothing to Do With Tom Cruise

Katie Holmes is making a comeback of sorts after a very quiet few years during her marriage to Tom Cruise.

The Giver actress has four new movies completed and awaiting release, including Miss Meadows and Days and Nights, and it seems she is back stronger than ever.

Despite speculation, Holmes says the dry spell was just a normal part of the business and had nothing to do with her marriage to the 52-year-old Mission: Impossible actor.

In an interview with DuJour magazine, the statuesque brunette talked about life after Cruise and her latest acting projects.

Holmes addressed persistent speculation and questions from DuJour that her divorce from Cruise two years ago “helped to bolster her career,” saying neither her marriage nor her divorce had anything to do with the ups and downs of her career.

“It’s the life of an actor,” the Dawson’s Creek alum responded. “We don’t really have a lot of choice in the matter. You have dry spells, and then you have times when there is a lot of opportunity.”

In fact, Holmes said she made the decision to take the time away from Hollywood to enjoy her eight-year-old daughter’s early years.

“I totally admire women who go back to work six weeks after giving birth but when she was little, I was not ready,” she said. “I was a very nervous mother — like, sleeping next to her crib — and I was in that mode for a long time.”

Suri‘s mom took a moment to reflect on how maturing has changed her approach to her craft.

“I think I’ve gotten more comfortable with acting over time,” said the 35-year-old actress. “Early on, I could never get out of my head. I’d be thinking, ‘I have to get the job.’ And even when I had the job, I was afraid that I was going to get fired, or I just had the mentality of, ‘I need to be good enough.’

“The more projects you do, the older you get, the more life experience you get, you start to understand storytelling better, so you’re a little bit more confident going in. You’re not afraid of getting fired: You just want to contribute.”

Holmes is currently filming the Simon Curtis-directed film Woman in Gold. She said it was a refreshing choice to star in a film about “a happy married couple, because it’s rare to see that.”

Holmes says she takes her celebrity status and the inevitability of paparazzi following her every move in stride, and doesn’t change the way she approaches life in New York City.

“There’s definitely an awareness of the fact that people have camera phones, and that your privacy is sometimes invaded, but that’s something that I think everyone has had to adjust to,” Holmes explained. “Even early on, when I was a young actor and all of a sudden people knew who I was, my dad told me, ‘Don’t let that change how you live your life.’ I’ve always sort of approached it that way. You have to continue to do the things you want to do and not let outside forces dictate.”

  • Katie Holmes Reflects on Life After Cruise, ‘The Giver’ and Raising Suri

Katie Holmes is loving life right now.

It’s been nearly two years since the 35-year-old actress divorced ex-husband Tom Cruise, and she is busier and happier than ever.

Speaking with Today show host Matt Lauer last week, Holmes shared about life after Cruise, her role as mother to eight-year-old daughter Suri Cruise and portraying an empty-nesting mother in her new film, The Giver.

“I’m a risk-taker,” Holmes told Matt Lauer of her decision to play the unnamed mother of the hero Jonas — played by Brenton Thwaites — in the movie based on Lois Lowry’s beloved young adult novel. “I love adventures and new things.”

Holmes said it was easy to approach her role in The Giver.

“I approached it like all mothers when their child is leaving the nest,” said the Dawson’s Creek alum. “There’s a pain. There’s a loss. That’s how I approached the character.”

In the interview, Lauer referenced her escalation to superstar status following her marriage to Cruise and asked if she wishes she could go back to the days when she wasn’t the focus of so much attention.

“Do you ever think you would make a deal and trade some of that fame to go back to that person you were beforehand?” Lauer asked.

“You know what?” Holmes replied thoughtfully. “I never really look back. I just approach life [taking] it one day at a time. I’m really excited about where I am right now. I’ve had some really wonderful creative experiences. I’m just really grateful.”

Holmes enjoyed an idyllic life growing up in Toledo, Ohio with a strong, supportive family and says she aspires to give her daughter a similar experience full of the same love and support she experienced, albeit in a very different environment from the one in which she was raised.

“Of course you try your best. I try very hard because I’m very grateful for my upbringing, my parents, my siblings. I try to do what they did for me for my little one,” said Holmes. “The most important thing for me is letting her know how proud I am and her accomplishments mean everything. Whatever I do is whatever. It’s really just about her. That’s what I think is most important.”

  • Katie Holmes Talks Her Topless Glamour Shoot

Katie Holmes revealed that she has no issues with going topless for photo shoots. And that is exactly what she did on this month’s cover of Glamour magazine.

While most were shocked to see Holmes without her top on, surprisingly this wasn’t her first time baring skin; she actually showed her breasts in The Gift in 2000.

“I have done it before when I was young, the right time to do it,” Holmes said over the weekend while she was promoting her new movie The Giver at the Four Seasons Beverly Hills. “But if the part called for it, sure, I’d do it again. I think people need to embrace themselves, their creativity and their bodies.”

On the cover of Glamour, Holmes is seen wearing nothing but a pair of blue jeans, and has her arms strategically placed to cover her breasts. Holmes explained the inspiration for the shoot was mainly Lauren Hutton and photos from the 70s. “The inspiration was a lot of Lauren Hutton and the great photos from the ’70s—jeans and Americana,” Holmes told E! News. “It felt right. It wasn’t about sexy. It was about being a woman. Sometimes we’re topless,” Holmes added with a smile.

In addition to her work on The Giver, Holmes is also working on a film with Ryan Reynolds called Woman In Gold . Holmes even admitted that she would be open to a possible return to television. “TV right now is a great place to tell stories,” Holmes, who made her way to fame playing Joey on Dawson’s Creek, said. “There are so many opportunities to tell any kind of story. You can now stream so much online that it’s become a great medium for communicating to the masses.”

The Giver is scheduled to premiere in theaters on August 15.

  • Katie Holmes Poses Topless, Gushes on Daughter Suri and Purchases Home in Midtown Manhattan

Katie Holmes is busy, busy, busy — posing topless, working on stage and television, gushing on her daughter, Suri, and purchasing a new home in mid-town Manhattan.

The Giver actress graced the cover of the August issue of Glamour, and posed topless in the photo spread for the magazine.

The 35-year-old single mother told the magazine she is focused on daughter Suri and her work.

“I am really focused on motherhood and work right now,” the actress told the magazine. “Motherhood is the greatest gift.”

For the actress, it’s all about her little girl. In the interview, she gushed about the love she has for her 6-year-old daughter.

‘I didn’t know how much love I had in me. It’s overwhelming,’ said Holmes. ‘Every day I discover more about this spectacular human being I get to be the mother of.’

The actress also told the magazine that her family — and the influence of her parents — is what has kept her grounded through fame and media scrutiny.

“My family has been so crucial to my outlook on life. I started acting at 17 and had success at an early age, where all of a sudden people knew who I was,” said the Dawson’s Creek actress. “But my parents always treated me the exact same way at home and reminded me of gratitude. And that’s been a grounding force.”

Meanwhile, a source told Us Weekly that the twosome is planning a move from Manhattan’s trendy Chelsea neighborhood to a more family-friendly area in Midtown NYC.

Holmes, who currently pays $12,500 a month to rent her apartment downtown, will become a home-owner with the purchase of the $4 million apartment.

“She is buying in a more neighborhood-y area,” the source told Us. “The place has three bedrooms, and she needs to do some work to it but not much.”

Holmes married actor Tom Cruise in 2006, and they became a very high-profile couple during their relationship. The couple was granted a quickie divorce six years after they married and reached a settlement just two weeks after filing.

  • Katie Holmes Celebrates Suri Cruise’s 8th Birthday

Katie Holmes helped daughter Suri Cruise celebrate her 8th birthday in style. She treated her daughter, along with a few guests, to dinner at Nobu Next Door in New York City on Friday night. Following their meal, the restaurant brought a dessert out to Suri and it was topped with a birthday candle.

That wasn’t the only treat in store for Suri. She was the recipient of many gifts–some from FAO Schwarz–that were delivered to Katie Holmes’s New York City apartment. Bouquets of balloons were delivered throughout the day as well.

In addition, Holmes posted a photo of a dozen frozen cupcakes that spelled out ‘Happy Birthday, Suri’ to her Twitter account. It’s unknown whether Katie baked the cupcakes for her daughter or ordered them in from a local boutique bakery.

Suri Cruise is also the daughter of Mission Impossible and Jerry Maguire star Tom Cruise. It’s uncertain if Tom was around to help celebrate Suri’s big day or if he plans to celebrate with her some other time. Tom Cruise is often away on location for long periods of time, but takes Suri on lavish vacations fairly often.

It’s hard to believe that Suri Cruise is already 8 years old. The little girl who Katie Holmes feared would grow up in the Church of Scientology now attends Catholic School in New York City and is often spotted attending events around town with the former Dawson’s Creek star. While Suri is known for being a little bit spoiled, it was sort of a given that she would turn out that way. It was almost as if both Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise tried to one up each other following their divorce, in an effort to win Suri’s affections.

It was only a few months ago when Suri was spotted yelling at the paparazzi to get away from her and her famous mom.

Katie Holmes has at least stayed grounded and has made a life of consistency for Suri–even if she is constantly privy to many of the finer things in life. It will certainly be interesting to observe Suri Cruise when she is about 13 years old.

  • Katie Holmes to Play Manhattan Socialite in ABC Pilot

Katie Holmes will return to the small screen in her first starring role since Dawson’s Creek.

The pilot, which will air on ABC, is currently untitled. Homes will play a Manhattan socialite who is described as Audrey Hepburn-esque.

Homes will star opposite British actor Rufus Sewell. The pilot will be written and executive-produced by Richard LaGravenese, who has written screenplays for Beautiful Creatures, Freedom Writers, and P.S. I Love You.

The pilot is set in New York City, where Holmes moved with daughter Suri, 7, following her much-publicized divorce from actor Tom Cruise.

In August, Holmes will star alongside Jeff Bridges, Alexander Skarsgård, Meryl Streep, and Taylor Swift in the movie adaptation of Lois Lowry’s Newbery Award-winning young adult novel The Giver.

Holmes’ other recent projects include starring roles in Days and Nights, Mania Days, and Miss Meadows.

When she’s not working, trying to keep her daughter from becoming tabloid fodder, or advocating for breast cancer awareness, the actress can be found enjoying New York City.

“I love the community in New York. I love New Yorkers. I ran into someone on the street the other day that I went to high school with,” she says. “I love the moments of spontaneity every day.”

“I love the theater, the galleries in my neighborhood. Stuff [like] that is so much of what makes me love this city. I love the Knicks. I love talking to my neighbors in the elevator. I like feeling a part of something big.”

  • Katie Holmes Returns To TV With ABC Pilot

It has been 11 years since Katie Holmes was seen on the small screen, but she will finally be making her return with a new show. As many people remember, Holmes gained her initial fame through her role on Dawson’s Creek.

Since her departure from television, she has been spotlighted for her personal life with her marriage to Tom Cruise, and raising her daughter Suri, along with a several films. Following her divorce to Tom Cruise in 2012, she has reportedly been dating Jamie Foxx.

Katie Holmes originally played Joey Potter on the drama series, which ran from 1998 until 2003, and was a gateway for her to enter the Hollywood life. She is perhaps best known for her roles in Batman Begins and Pieces Of April, an indie film from 2003.

Her potential drama show is still untitled, but comes from writer Richard LaGravense, who also wrote the screenplay for the Golden Globe winning Behind The Candelabra. The show will be directed by Taylor Hackford. It is a drama about high society, and has been said to share similarities with the classic Dangerous Liaisons.

The series will be set in modern-day New York City. It will feature Katie Holmes as Ann, a woman of education and breeding, who has never used those advantages for power over others. She also runs a philanthropic foundation with her husband Phillip, who will be played by Rufus Sewell.

Phillip and Margot, who has not been cast yet, make a bet that will destroy his seemingly happy marriage to Ann, and soon Ann will learn to play the game, and be a competitive match for Phillip.

In a time when many film actors and actresses are turning to television perhaps to keep more of a routine, or get more in touch with a different type of audience, Katie Holmes will be returning to the medium that she knows best, and originated on.

Katie Holmes may be making her return to television shortly with the upcoming untitled ABC pilot. She will be seen on the big screen next in the film adaptation of the classic novel The Giver, which opens on August 15th.

  • Joshua Jackson Says a Dawson’s Creek Reunion Isn’t Out of the Question

Joshua Jackson, James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, and recent Tom Cruise escapee Katie Holmes could possibly reprise their respective roles from the 90’s TV drama “Dawson’s Creek” at some point in the future, explains Jackson. Although most of the cast are currently busy with a host of different projects, they aren’t completely opposed to getting the gang back together for a concentrated jolt of pure 90’s nostalgia. Just don’t expect it to happen anytime soon.

“Well, we killed the show so I don’t think that’s ever going to happen,” Jackson explained to The Hollywood Reporter. “Never say never. If I’m out of work for enough years, absolutely. We’ll be old and grey and nasty by the time [that happens].”

If you are too young to remember the program and/or you have better things to do with your free time, then, chances are, you might be unfamiliar with the teenage shenanigans associated with “Dawson’s Creek”. In order to bring you up to speed with what this show was all about, allow me to present this synopsis for your perusal.

Set in a small coastal, Massachusetts town named Capeside, Dawson’s Creek tells the story of four teenagers as they struggle through adolescence. This is particularly true for 15-year-olds Dawson Leery, an introspective dreamer and Joey Potter, a precocious tomboy unaware of her beauty. Best friends since childhood, they are about to enter that confusing time in life where nothing is the way it was and nothing is as it seems.

When co-star Katie Holmes was asked about a possible reunion last year, she expressed that she had nothing but nice things to say about her time spent down at the titular creek. “It would be fun,” Katie said. “I had so much fun working on that show and I loved everyone so much and I think about it with such fond memories. A really great group of people.
