  • Emily Deschanel, David Hornsby Welcome Second Child

Emily Deschanel of Bones fame and her husband David Hornsby welcomed their second child into their world. This is the second son for Deschanel and Hornsby, whose older son Henry was born in 2011.

“The whole family and baby are doing well,” a rep for Emily Deschanel said in a statement to Us Weekly.

This second pregnancy for Emily Deschanel coincided with the pregnancy of her younger sister, Zooey Deschanel. She is expecting her first child with fiance Jacob Pechenik.

Back in December, Emily Deschanel explained how easily this second pregnancy was proceeding.

“I work with a nutritionist to make sure I have the protein that I need,” she said.

The Bones star is a vegan. She added that she craved lemonade throughout her pregnancy.

“It’s so weird,” she said. “I just get thirsty. You have to drink more water and I can only drink so much water. I used to drink a ton of [fluids] and now I’ve hit my limit so I think of a variety. Once I get thirsty, I’ll want lemonade or a sparkling water. Maybe it is citrus fruits!”

Now that Emily Deschanel has given birth her pregnancy craving for lemonade will likely subside.

Now she can get busy integrating her new son into the family fold as she waits to become an aunt with the birth of Zooey Deschanel’s baby. It won’t be long before she has to return to work, however. It was recently announced that Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz will return for their 11th season of Bones.

Congratulations are likely going out from family members, friends, and fans to Emily Deschanel and David Hornsby on the birth of their second baby boy.

  • Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz: ‘Bones’ to Return for 11th Season

Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz will be back for an 11th season of Bones. Fans learned this week that 20th Century Fox TV closed deals with both Deschanel and Boreanaz. Their contracts were up at the end of season 10.

According to a report from Deadline little will change on the Bones set. Changes will take place, however, but will all be behind the scenes.

Executive producer Jonathan Collier and co-EP Michael Peterson have been named new showrunners. The show’s most recent showrunner, Stephen Nathan, is taking a leave.

In addition to Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz–TJ Thyne, Michaela Conlin, and John Boyd are all returning for the 11th season of Bones. Creator and executive producer Hart Hanson is coming back as well.

Bones is based on forensic anthropology and forensic archaeology. Each episode focuses on an FBI case file concerning the mystery behind human remains brought in by FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (played by David Boreanaz) to forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance “Bones” Brennan (played by Emily Deschanel).

Bones premiered on Fox back in September of 2005, and despite its steady viewership has never been a huge hit. Those steady viewers, however, have once again helped ensure its return.

Emily Deschanel is married to actor and writer David Hornsby, and is expecting their second child.

Are you a Bones fan? Are you excited to learn you can see the investigative interaction–and comedy, too–between Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz for at least one more season?

  • Zooey Deschanel Will Be ‘Great Mom,’ According to ‘New Girl’ Costar

Zooey Deschanel is expecting her first child with Jacob Pechenik, but there’s another guy who is happy to talk about her impending foray into motherhood. Zooey’s New Girl costar Jake Johnson chatted recently with E! News about the overwhelming excitement in the air.

“I’m excited for her. We’re really excited,” Johnson said at the Fox All-Star party at the 2015 Winter TCA Press Tour. “She and Jacob are so excited and I couldn’t be happier for Zooey.”

“She’s a good friend and this is an awesome thing in her life. I think she’s going to be a great mom,” he added.

Fans are forewarned, however, about hoping that Zooey Deschanel’s pregnancy gets written into the New Girl story line, because it won’t.

“No, Jess (Deschanel’s character on the show) is not going to have a baby,” Jake Johnson said.

“It’d be a weird Three Men and a Baby vibe…just imagine how weird Winston would be around that baby!” he joked shortly thereafter.

In addition to making a baby, Zooey Deschanel and Jacob Pechenik are also working on her film together. Called Rock the Kasbah, it also stars Kate Hudson, Shia LeBeouf. and Bruce Willis. Pechenik serves as one of the film’s producers. In post-production, Rock the Kasbah is set to hit theaters nationwide in April.

Zooey Deschanel isn’t the only one celebrating a pregnancy in her family either. Sister Emily Deschanel, who stars in Bones, is expecting her second baby with husband David Hornsby.

Fans can check out Zooey Deschanel–sans any sort of baby bump–when New Girl returns to Fox on February 3rd.

  • Emily Deschanel Shows Off Baby Bump at ‘Bones’ 200th Episode Bash

Emily Deschanel, who has been playing forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennan on Bones for the past ten years, showed off her baby bump Monday at the 200th episode celebration of the Fox series.

The 38-year-old actress announced that she is expecting her second child last week and this was the first public appearance since the announcement. For the event, Deschanel looked elegant in a charcoal Lanvin dress covered in sequins and topped with a black Max Mara tuxedo jacket.

Deschanel and her husband, David Hornsby, actor and writer of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, married in September 2010 and welcomed their first child, son Henry Lamar, in September 2011.

Deschanel, who is the sister of Zooey Deschanel, told Us Weekly that she expects Temperance will also be pregnant on the show.

“Yes, I think it will be [written into the show],” Deschanel said. “I’m not like a tiny pregnant person. I’m not going to be able to hide it behind something small; it’ll be easier to not hide it.”

The sex of the on-screen baby is apparently a mystery, just like the majority of Bones episodes.

“I know that it’ll happen in the next couple of episodes we’re filming, but that’s it,” she admitted to Us. “I don’t know if it’ll be a boy or a girl.”

Deschanel and David Boreanz, who plays FBI agent Seeley Booth, have been sizzling on the small screen since 2005. The now on-screen married couple work together to solve various cases with their cohorts at the Jefferson Institute.

The 200th episode of Bones aired Thursday 8 p.m. ET on Fox. But don’t worry if you missed it. You can still catch it on the Fox website on Friday.

  • Emily Deschanel Flaunts Baby Bump, Celebrates 200th ‘Bones’ Episode

Emily Deschanel is expecting her second baby with hubby David Hornsby, and she flaunted that burgeoning baby bump at the celebration for the 200th episode of her hit TV show Bones. The event took place on December 8th in Beverly Hills, and her sequined dress–a muted gray Lanvin, topped with a Max Mara black tuxedo jacket–was perfect for the occasion. She posed for many photos alongside her Bones costar David Boreanz.

Of course the question of the evening was whether or not Emily Deschanel’s character, Dr. Temperance Brennan, will also be pregnant on the show.

“Yes, I think it will be [written into the show],” Deschanel said to Us Weekly. “I’m not like a tiny pregnant person. I’m not going to be able to hide it behind something small; it’ll be easier to not hide it.”

It seems the sex of Emily Deschanel’s baby is as much of a mystery as the story lines on Bones.

“I know that it’ll happen in the next couple of episodes we’re filming, but that’s it,” she told Us of writing the pregnancy into the script. “I don’t know if it’ll be a boy or a girl.”

The 200th episode of Bones is set to air on December 11th, and it pays homage to Alfred Hitchcock. Executive producer Stephen Nathan hints that some fan favorites will be returning during the very special episode.

“We’re going to have as many people who have crossed our paths as we possibly can. There are limitations to that, of course,” he said.

Emily Deschanel and the rest of the Bones cast have already received congratulations on the 200th episode from several people from the celebrity world including Darren Criss, Benjamin McKenzie, and Zooey Deschanel–who is, of course, Emily’s younger sister.

Will you be tuning in on Thursday night to check out the 200th episode of Bones? Are you excited to learn how Emily Deschanel’s second pregnancy will become part of the upcoming story line?
