  • David Brockie: Autopsy Results Show The Gwar Frontman Died Of A Heroin Overdose

Gwar frontman David Brockie, also known by his stage name Oderus Urungus, died in his home on March 23. He was 50 years old. On Tuesday, officials from the medical examiner’s office released a statement that Brockie’s cause of death was acute heroin toxicity. Administrator Arkuie Williams said that his death was an accident.

Gwar, a 1980’s heavy metal rock band, is best known for their elaborate costumes while performing on stage. Brockie was with the band from the very beginning, although they have changed their lineup several times through the years.

After Brockie’s death, his friends told the world how much they admire him. Former bassist of the band, Mike Bishop said “Dave was one of the funniest, smartest, most creative and energetic persons I’ve known.” Bishop said that Brockie was always crass and hilarious, but he was also an intelligent man who was interested in art, politics, history, and life.

The death of Brockie prompted Gwar to establish a charity called the Dave Brockie fund. The charity aims to promote the advancement of performing arts and music. They are encouraging talented individuals who lack the funding to pursue what they love doing.

In addition, the band is opening their own restaurant called the GWARbar, which will open in Richmond, VA. The band said that the restaurant was one of Brockie’s dreams.

According to the restaurant’s press release, visitors at the restaurant will be able to taste a wide selection of dishes from the menu, which was designed by Balsac the Jaws of Death, the rhythm guitarist of Gwar. The band launched an IndieGoGo project to raise funds for GWARbar.

With the death of Brockie, Gwar is left without any of its original founding members. The band will still be performing as scheduled at the Riot Fest in Chicago in September.

  • Dave Brockie Of GWAR Found Dead In Richmond Home

Founder and lead vocalist of the thrash metal band GWAR, Dave Brockie, was found dead in his Richmond home on Sunday.

According to Dionne Waugh of the Richmond Police, the authorities were called to Brockie’s residence at around 6:53 p.m. for a reported death. The authorities discovered the lifeless body of 50-year-old Brockie when they arrived at the scene.

Detectives do not suspect any foul play, and the official cause of death is soon to be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

GWAR’s manager, Jack Flanagan, has issued a statement saying that more information surrounding Brockie’s death will be released as soon as details have been confirmed. He also said that his focus is to look after Brockie’s family and the rest of the band.

GWAR was formed in 1984 in Richmond, Virginia. The band is known for their heavy music and theatrical performances. Each band member has his own persona and alias, as well as out-of-this-world costume.

The band just came back from shows in Japan to celebrate their 30th anniversary in the music business. They also released their 13th studio album just last year.

Mike Bishop, the former bassist for the band, says that Brockie was one of the smartest and funniest guys that he has ever known. “He was brash sometimes, always crass, irreverent, he was hilarious in every way. But he was also deeply intelligent and interested in life, history, politics, and art.”

Brockie, who was known as Oderus Urungus, was the only GWAR character who has ever existed in every incarnation of the band. He started out as the band’s guitarist, then moved on to playing the bass, and eventually ended up being the band’s vocalist. He also contributed to the Fox News Channel as Oderus Urungus.

Gwar Frontman Dave Brockie Dead at 50

David Murray Brockie, known by his stage name Oderus Urungus as the frontman of fantasy thrash-metal band Gwar, was found dead in his Richmond, Virginia apartment Saturday night. The cause of the death is currently unknown, though no foul play is suspected. Brockie was 50.

As Urungus, who Brockie described as being 43 billion years old, the singer appeared live as a horned, intergalactic humanoid barbarian, always wielding a long sword named “Unt Lick.” According the Gwar lore, Oderus was “assembled” on the planet Scumdogia in “Syntho Womb 5,” using moldy fragments of himself that had been scattered across the galaxy. Oderus claimed his father was a supercomputer, and that his mother was a petri dish.

Ex-Gwar bassist Mike Bishop commented that “Dave was one of the funniest, smartest, most creative and energetic persons I’ve known. He was brash sometimes, always crass, irreverent, he was hilarious in every way. But he was also deeply intelligent and interested in life, history, politics and art.”

Brockie was the only member of Gwar who had existed in every incarnation of its lineup since 1984. The band made a name for itself with science fiction/horror fantasy-inspired costumes, obscene lyrics and graphic live sets, which feature satirical enactments of politically and morally taboo themes.

Lamb of God singer Randall Blythe commented on Brockie’s passing via Instagram, “When someone dies, a lot of the time people will say “Oh, he was a unique person, really one of a kind, a true original”- most of these people no idea of what they are talking about- they obviously had never met Dave. Dave TRULY WAS ONE OF A KIND – I can’t think of ANYONE even remotely like him. That’s VERY HARD TO SAY.”

Former Gwar guitarist Steve Douglas wrote on his Facebook wall, “I have had a few bad days in my life but this one truly ranks right up there… Dave Brockie, I do not know what happened to you yet, but I know you are gone and it is hurting very badly!”
