  • Virginia Deputy Shoots Own Daughter By Mistake

    What’s worse than getting busted for sneaking out of the house? How about getting shot by your own father in the process?

    This situation comes to us by way of a sheriff’s deputy named Easton McDonald.

    The man stumbled out of bed in the early hours of Tuesday morning to confront what he thought was an intruder. Unfortunately for the McDonald household, things didn’t go quite as planned.

    According to the Washington Post, McDonald was made aware of a supposed intruder in the house through the security system, which informed the startled man that someone was in the garage.

    Local law enforcement officials said that McDonald then armed himself and went down into the basement. It was there that he saw a “dark figure” walking towards him.

    It was then that McDonald is reported to have opened fire, hitting his 16-year-old daughter “in the torso”.

    The sheriff’s deputy called 911 immediately after realizing his terrible mistake.

    McDonald attempted to take his injured daughter to a nearby hospital himself, but he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a barrier. He was not seriously injured and there were no further injuries to his daughter.

    The teen was eventually taken to Winchester Medical Center. As of Thursday, she is in stable condition.

    Easton McDonald is a sergeant with the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

    McDonald has been on administrative leave since the shooting took place. Authorities stated that the incident is currently the subject of an internal investigation.

    There are a couple of takeaways from this very unfortunate situation:

    1.) You should definitely make sure your kids are all accounted for if your security alarm goes off in the middle of the night.

    2.) If there is the remotest chance that sneaking out of the home of gun-owning parents might get you shot, whatever you’re creeping out of the house for had better be worth it!

  • Bruce Willis Welcomes His Fifth Daughter

    On Monday, May 5, Bruce Willis and his wife, model Emma Heming-Willis, welcomed their baby girl into the world.

    Evelyn Penn Willis weighed 8 lbs., 10 oz, and makes the second child for the couple, who already have one daughter together Mabel Ray, 2.

    “Both mother and baby are healthy and doing beautifully,” the couple’s rep said in a statement. “Mabel is delighted to have a new baby sister.”

    Bruce, 59, and Emma recently celebrated their five-year anniversary in March. Before marrying Emma in 2009, the action star was married to Demi Moore with whom he had three other daughters: Tallulah, 20, Scout, 22, and Rumer, 25. Bruce and Demi married in 1987, separated in 1998, and then finalized their divorce in 2000.

    Seeing as though Bruce is the only male in the house, you would think that he would get a bit overwhelmed. However, he says he doesn’t mind being surrounded by so many women. “It’s all good. I haven’t found a time yet that’s bad,” he said during a 2013 interview. “I get to learn a lot more about women than most men do—because it’s just me and 20 women around me.”

    “I see little boys and little kids and I go, I would be protective of these guys too,” the Die Hard star said. “But a certain age there’s something in guys that makes them say at a certain point, ‘I got it, I don’t need anyone to help…I don’t need to be protected anymore. I’m okay.’ But girls are always, ‘Oh, dad…’”

    Drew Barrymore Wants Another Baby ASAP

    Drew Barrymore is ready for another baby. The well-known Hollywood actress revealed that she wants a second baby already during an interview with Jay Leno. Her first child was just born a year ago, a daughter named Olive. She had Oliver with her husband Will Kopelman, whom she has been married to since June of 2012.

    E Online says that the couple had an intimate ceremony in Montecito, California. It was attended by family and friends and did not attract the attention that some celebrity weddings do. Guests also danced to a 80’s cover band, as they played the favorite hit songs of theirs.

    Barrymore is certainly enjoying her new status of motherhood, and wants to give her daughter a baby brother or sister as soon as possible. They plan to enjoy their time with Olive as they get ready to increase the size of their family, enjoying every moment with the little one. She raved on about her smarts and said “She says a lot of words.”

    Barrymore has appeared in many films, beginning her career as a child star in E.T., Steven Spielberg’s 80’s classic. Since then, she has appeared in many dramas and romantic comedies. Her last film Big Miracle, was released in 2012, and she is currently work on a film called The Familymoon, which is set for a 2014 release date. She also has a photography book coming out in January called Find It Everything, which has photos of heart-shaped images that Barrymore has been taking on her own for over a decade, according to NBC News.

    She says that her daughter Olive will be walking in next week, and is very excited about the news. Barrymore grew up as an only child, and perhaps because of that, she wants to grow a big family of her own. It sounds as if having a big family has always been a plan of hers, and she wants to be like the Griswold’s from the National Lampoon’s films. She said during the interview with Leno, “I want the kids in the back rolling their eyes at mom and dad. I want Rusty and Audrey, theme parks and the whole nine.”

  • Gwen Stefani: Pregnant And Debuts Small Baby Bump

    Gwen Stefani is pregnant again and it is starting to show. She was recently seen attending the baby shower of a friend of hers and she is starting to show. Stefani, the singer that got her fame as the front-woman for the band No Doubt. The band released their first album in 1992 and was a big hit throughout the 1990s. She is married to Gavin Rossdale of the band Bush, and after tying the knot in 2002.

    She is a multi-talented celebrity, taking turns at being a singer-songwriter, actress and a fashion designer. Her and Rossdale already have two children together, and it sounds like the two are hoping for a daughter, after having two boys already. Stefani is already a mother to Kingston, who is seven years old and Zuma, who is five, according to E Online. The couple met when No Doubt was on tour with the rock band The Goo Goo Dolls, opening for Bush in 1995.

    She revealed her baby bump yesterday, which is still very tiny. She was seen in public on the way to a baby shower with her youngest son, Zuma in Yorba Linda, California. It is certainly growing, but if it were not for Stefani’s tiny figure, you probably would not guess that she was pregnant. The news of her pregnancy broke earlier this month that she would be having a third child, but it is unclear how far along she is. Days after revealing the news, she tried to hide her early curves in baggy khaki pants and a loose top.

    The news of her latest pregnancy is not a huge shock, since she did mention years ago that she wanted to give her boys another sibling, and it looks like now she wants a girl. At 43 years of age and early on in her pregnancy, the rocker still looks great. US Weekly mentions that she was seeing wearing a tight gray tank-dress, which also exposed a black bra, with matching black leggings. She also showed off her fashion with black high heels, shades and her trademark red lipstick.

  • Britney Haynes’ Daughter Diagnosed with Cancer

    Cancer. Every parent fears hearing this word, especially when it comes to their children. This is a reality that Britney Haynes, the former “Big Brother” competitor and star, has had to come to terms with after her 2-month-old daughter was diagnosed with this horrible disease.

    Haynes shared the heart wrenching news via Facebook saying: “On September 1st, we were among the daily 720 sets of parents to be absolutely devastated with a Childhood Cancer diagnosis. September is National Childhood Cancer Awareness month. Please take the time to pray for all these children, our sweet baby included. We appreciate each and every one.”

    Haynes’ daughter,Tilly Elizabeth, was born on July 13. After her birth Haynes tweeted: “My life changed on July 13th and will never be the same! My sweet little girl is happy, healthy, and amazing. Tilly Elizabeth; 8lbs 3oz!”

    Haynes more recently took to Twitter to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for their little girl.

    Haynes appeared on the CBS series, “Big Brother” in 2010 and 2012.

  • Vogue Mom Forces 7-Year Old Daughter To Lose 16 Pounds

    In a time when childhood obesity is rampant–due mostly to a reliance on fast food and digital devices rather than vegetables and exercise–it’s not uncommon to hear of a parent who takes a doctor’s advice to heart and puts their child on a strict diet.

    But in the case of Dara-Lynn Weiss, who wrote an essay published in the April issue of Vogue about doing just that, the issue may have been taken to the extreme. Weiss is now facing huge backlash from the public regarding her parenting methods towards daughter Bea, 7, and the terminology she uses in the essay.

    In the piece, Weiss explains that her daughter’s pediatrician warned her that, at 4’4” and 93 pounds, Bea was considered clinically obese and was potentially at risk for future complications like high blood pressure and diabetes. While this may sound like a fairly severe diagnosis to some, it wasn’t the doctor’s words that have readers upset; it’s the way Bea’s mother handled them.

    “I once reproachfully deprived Bea of her dinner after learning that her observation of French Heritage Day at school involved nearly 800 calories of Brie, filet mignon, baguette, and chocolate,” Weiss says. “I stopped letting her enjoy Pizza Fridays when she admitted to adding a corn salad as a side dish one week. I dressed down a Starbucks barista when he professed ignorance of the nutrition content of the kids’ hot chocolate whose calories are listed as “120-210″ on the menu board: Well, which is it? When he couldn’t provide an answer, I dramatically grabbed the drink out of my daughter’s hands, poured it into the garbage, and stormed out.”

    The goal was to get Bea to lose 16 pounds before the Vogue photo shoot, which she did. But at what cost? Certainly a child as young as 7 needs guidance in order to make better choices for themselves, but is this the right kind?

    “That’s still me,” Bea said in the essay. “I’m not a different person just because I lost 16 pounds.”

    “I protest that indeed she is different,” Weiss wrote. “At this moment, that fat girl is a thing of the past.”

    Weiss recently struck a deal with Ballantine Books–a Random House imprint–to write about the experience. It’s tentatively titled, “The Heavy”.

  • Zsa Zsa Gabor’s Daughter Asks Judge For Conservatorship For Actress, 95

    Constance Francesca Hilton, Zsa Zsa Gabor’s daughter, is seeking help from a judge to gain control of her mother’s finances and medical treatment.

    The socialite and actress has been in ill health for several years after a car accident in 2002 and two strokes, which necessitated the partial amputation of her right leg. Her ninth husband, Von Anhalt, is currently overseeing her care, much to Hilton’s dismay; in a photograph released last year, Anhalt is seen toasting champagne with Gabor, which incensed her daughter.

    “He once again uses my mother to bring publicity to himself,” Hilton told CNN after the photo was made public. “He once again releases photos of my mother in unflattering situations without hair and makeup, two things that were so important to her. This time he is feeding her alcohol, which could be detrimental to her condition since she is on numerous medications,” she said. “It’s disgusting and no one is doing anything about it.”

    Hilton claims that Anhalt is isolating her mother from her–she is an only child–and is keeping her sedated. Her concern is also that he is mishandling her finances, and says she would be willing to take over and share the responsibilities with a third party to prove she’s not just trying to gain access to her mother’s money, as she is accused of doing by Anhalt.

    “By isolating me from my mother, not only does her current husband deprive her of my love and companionship, but he goes against estate planning documents that appear to reflect her wishes that he not be in sole control of her affairs,” Hilton wrote in a declaration accompanying her petition.

    A hearing regarding the conservatorship is scheduled for May 2nd.

  • Angry Dad Steps Over The line With Daughter’s Coach

    Shelly S. Miller, father of a St. Stanislaus School girls basketball player stepped way over the line for punching his daughter’s assistant basketball coach, Jeffrey Yackus. The Michigan City Dad lost his cool when he found out his daughter and another player had gotten into an argument during a practice and had been given laps.

    Evidently, Miller approached the coach when he arrived at the gym last Wednesday sometime after three o’clock in the afternoon. After punching the assistant coach, Miller proceeded to climb on top of him and continued to pound the teacher until he fell into unconsciousness. After the head coach put an end to the beating, Yackus was taken to the hospital and treated for a concussion. The coach has been with the school for six years and teaches children from fifth grade to eight grade.

    Miller was arrested two days later after the incident was investigated and the frenzied father was charged with a Class C felony battery and a $15,000 bond.
