  • Brady Bunch Snickers Ad Set To Be Among The Best

The Brady Bunch Snickers ad that everyone is talking about has gone viral.

The ad stars Danny Trejo as Marcia Brady.

The Brady Bunch set was magically recreated and the lines of the original cast changed to fit new dialogue into one of the most iconic Brady Bunch episodes ever.

Most of us have seen the episode of The Brady Bunch when Marcia gets smashed in the nose with the football.

Well, reimagine that with Danny Trejo as Marcia. Then imagine he has a hatchet. And he’s angry. And hungry. Hangry.

That is what the world is talking about.

If that is to be the stick by which other ads are measured this year, then we are in for a fantasic Super Bowl commercial season!

With the competition for the greatest Super Bowl ads getting ready to heat up, the Brady Bunch ad is sure to at least stand out.

Danny Trejo took a few days out of his schedule to shoot the Brady Bunch commercial, but admits he was hesitant at first.

“My agent called me and said, ‘Danny, I have a surprise for you. They want you to play Marcia Brady,’” Trejo told Business Insider. “I’ve been nurturing a career of being a bad guy for 20 years and [you want me to] play Marcia Brady.”

However, in the past, Snickers has had some amazing ads featuring the likes of Joe Pesci and Betty White. So, when he found out it was for Snickers, Danny Trejo jumped onboard to become a member of the Brady Bunch.

He added, “I just couldn’t believe it. So I read the commercial, and it was funny. It’s going to be an amazing commercial.”

Well, it is an amazing commercial! The Brady Bunch. Who’d have thought?

I hope the rest of tomorrow’s ads are this good!

  • ‘Brady Bunch’ Super Bowl Ad for Snickers Features Danny Trejo as Marcia Brady and Steve Buscemi as Jan Brady

A Brady Bunch-themed Super Bowl ad for Snickers features gnarly action star Danny Trejo playing the 1970s teen icon Marcia Brady.

For those who remember, Marcia Brady, played by Maureen McCormick, 58, was the hippest teen that every girl wanted to be and every guy wanted to date.

In a moment of genius, the ad team at Snickers came up with the idea to star Danny Trejo as the eldest daughter of the Brady Bunch clan.

“My agent called me and said, ‘Danny, I have a surprise for you. They want you to play Marcia Brady,” Trejo said. “I’ve been nurturing a career of being a bad guy for 20 years and [you want me to] play Marcia Brady.”

It’s an awesome ad that brings back memories of some of the more popular episodes from the show, including one when Marcia breaks her nose after Peter Brady throws a football at her face and another when sister Jan Brady — played by another tough guy, Steve Buscemi, in the ad — laments that it’s always all about “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia.”

    Yep, genius!

Danny Trejo said he was excited to play the teen idol, although his family thought is was a little weird when he told them he would play the Brady Bunch star.

“I just couldn’t believe it. So I read the commercial, and it was funny. It’s going to be an amazing commercial,” said Trejo. “When I said I’m going to play Marcia Brady … they all kind of looked at me,” said Trejo.

  • Marcia Brady Reimagined: How Danny Trejo Transformed

Marcia Brady is one of the most recognizable faces of comfortable, soothing retro television.

As a member of The Brady Bunch, Marcia Brady was everyone’s favorite, many times to the disdain of little sister Jan.

Danny Trejo is a gnarly, terrifying action star who has worked for years to hone his image to perfectly unapproachable.

So, how did Danny Trejo end up playing Marcia Brady in the Super Bowl ad for Snickers this year?

Danny Trejo said, “My agent called me and said, ‘Danny, I have a surprise for you. They want you to play Marcia Brady.’”

He added, “I’ve been nurturing a career of being a bad guy for 20 years and [you want me to] play Marcia Brady.”

    Take a look:

I’m sure it must have been quite a shock for Trejo. It was a highly unusual proposal in his line of work!

But, when he learned that it was a Super Bowl ad and that it was for Snickers, one of the the most anticipated Super Bowl ad makers out there, he was all for transforming into Marcia Brady.

“I just couldn’t believe it,” says Trejo. “So I read the commercial, and it was funny. It’s going to be an amazing commercial.”

Danny Trejo said the announcement to his family that his next project was going to be playing Marcia Brad left everyone was a little speechless.

“When I said I’m going to play Marcia Brady … they all kind of looked at me,” said Trejo.

The shoot for the Snickers Marcia Brady commercial only took a few days out of Danny Trejo’s schedule.

  • ‘Brady Bunch’ Featured in Snickers Super Bowl Ad

Members of The Brady Bunch appear in a Super Bowl ad sponsored by Snickers. Florence Henderson and the late Robert Reed as Mike and Carol Brady appear at the start of the ad, in a conversation with their teenage daughter Marcia–played by Maureen McCormick–but initially in the form of Danny Trejo.

The Hollywood Reporter says Snickers teased the ad last week, sharing a video of Trejo brushing his hair more than 100 times, just like Marcia Brady in an episode of the popular family show, with a Brady Bunch logo. Various other Brady Bunch-themed teasers were posted on Snickers’ Facebook page, with fans urged to share the promos via social media if they wanted to see the full ad early.

The full Brady Bunch Super Bowl ad debuted on The Today Show on Thursday morning. It is, as all Brady Bunch fans know, a take on the famous episode in which Marcia Brady gets hit in the face with a football, breaking her nose.

The clip begins with Marcia (Trejo) telling her mom and dad what happened. After Carol Brady says she’s “sure it was an accident,” Trejo says, “An eye for an eye. That’s what dad always says.”

“I’ve never said that, honey,” Mike Brady replies.

“Shut up!” Trejo shoots back, slamming an ax into the 1970s-era coffee table. “I’ve got to teach Peter a lesson.”

Carol urges Marcia to eat a Snickers bar, and she soon morphs back into herself again.

Were you a Brady Bunch fan during the show’s original reign? What do you think of this throwback to the 1970s? How do you expect this Brady Bunch ad will stand up to the many ads to be featured during the Super Bowl this coming Sunday?

  • Steve Wozniak and Danny Trejo Team Up for New iOS Game

Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak is about to become an action hero, as he is set to star in an upcoming iOS game called “Woz with a Coz.”

His costar for the video game is legendary movie badass Danny Trejo, who will help Woz slash up his wife’s kidnappers in classic 8-bit platformer style. Yes, I said Woz’s wife’s kidnappers…

Here’s all we know about the game, via Facebook:

In “Woz with a Coz” on iOS, the Apple co-founder and his wife, “J-Woz,” are enjoying their evening together, taking a glide. Unfortunately, their otherwise quiet evening is ruined — not by a competitive product release — but rather by street thugs kidnapping “J-Woz”!!! Your dynamic duo of Steve and Danny must hurry and swing into action as they tear up Fusion City in their quest to rescue “J-Woz,” and maybe cause a little mayhem on their way.

Apparently, Trejo will provide the brawn and the Woz will provide the brains as “players will enjoy Woz’s brain power, translator apps, Danny Trejo’s machetes, guns, and other crazy upgrades.”

The game is a promotional tie in to Danny Trejo’s Vengeance, the upcoming action flick starring Trejo, Jason Mewes, and 50 Cent (the full name of the new iOS game is Danny Trejo’s VENGEANCE: Woz with a Coz).

The game, which will mark the first time the Apple co-founder has starred in his own video game, is slated for a Thanksgiving release.
