Carol Doda, the San Francisco woman who helped popularize topless dancing, has died.
The cause of death is reported as kidney failure. She was 78.
Doda surely wasn’t the first stripper to take her top off, but she played a big role in popularizing the form of entertainment. In the mid 60s, Doda first began dancing topless at San Francisco’s Condor Club. This started a trend.
Doda was active for two decades, famous for her “twin 44s” – her silicone-enhanced breasts.
“She was much more than just dancing,” good friend Dick Winn told the San Francisco Chronicle. “She was one of the fastest comedians I ever knew for coming back with wisecracks. She was a wonderfully caring person who listened to you and gave good advice.”
Doda retired from stripping in the mid 1980s and opened up a lingerie shop in San Francisco. For the past few yeara, Doda had been performing at a supper club in the city. That gig was fully clothed.
It was an emotional dance for Suzanne Somers as she reminisced about her time on Three’s Company and paid tribute to her late co-star John Ritter.
Week 4 of Dancing with the Stars had the remaining dancers recreating the most memorable year of their lives. Somers and her dance partner Tony Dovolani chose to showcase the time she spent as Chrissy Snow in Three’s Company.
The sitcom revolves around three single roommates and their escapades. The late John Ritter was a big hit in it as he played klutzy Jack Tripper while Somers portrayed the ditzy Chrissy Snow and Joyce DeWitt was sensible Janet Wood. The comedy aired from 1977 to 1984.
Somers talked about her experience working with John Ritter and DeWitt and the friendship she shared with them during the pre-dance interview.
“This one’s for you John,” Somers tearfully said. “It’s the dance that Chrissy and John never got to have.”
The 68-year-old actress then started her performance with a short skit on a set that perfectly re-created the show’s living room, down to the pink curtains and plants.
And staying true to her character in the sitcom, Somers appeared in her famous Chrissy pigtails, wearing a long, pink satin robe while Dovolani lounged on the sofa, doing his best Jack impersonation.
“Hey, Jack… what are you eating?” Somers asked in that girlish voice her character was known for, to which Dovolani answered, “brains.”
“Oh, I never had any brains,” Somers replied.
The dance partners then started fox-trotting to the well-known and loved tune of Three’s Company, Too. The music was a perfect accompaniment to the dance’s twirls and quick steps before ending with Dovolani flying over the couch in another physical but hilarious skit that was a trademark of the comedy show.
Somers capped the sentimental night by posting a black-and-white photo of happier times with Ritter with the poignant caption, “A legendary comedian and even dearer friend. I love you, John.”
Jenna Dewan and Channing Tatum met on the set of Step Up. And during the Weinstein and Netflix post-Golden Globe party, the couple decided to show off their dance moves yet again. It’s been nine years since the two were paired with each other for the dance flick. They’re now married with one child, but based on their little dance-off, the chemistry is still there. Dewan and Tatum tied the knot back in 2009. The pair were celebrating Tatum’s success as well as his involvement in the critically-acclaimed wrestling drama, Foxcatcher.
Aside from Dewan and Tatum, the Weinsteins’ after-party also attracted several A-listers including Jake Gyllenhaal, Jennifer Lopez, the House of Cards cast, and even pop superstar Taylor Swift. As Tatum and Dewan stepped out of the dancefloor, the 22 Jump Street star was a total gentleman and carried the train of Dewan’s dress – just like he did on the red carpet.
During the Golden Globes red carpet, Tatum even joked about the fact that he’s carrying Dewan’s train by telling Ryan Seacreast, “I have an hourly rate: Anyone that needs their train held, I’m here.”
Tatum and Dewan managed to have fun despite Foxcatcher not winning any of the major awards. Steve Carell, who was nominated for Best Actor, lost to Eddie Redmayne. Mark Ruffalo also lost the Best Supporting Actor award to Whiplash’s JK Simmons.
In Foxcatcher, Tatum plays Olympic wrestler Mark Schultz who joined Team Foxcatcher to compete for the 1988 games in Seoul. Carell plays eccentric billionaire John du Pont, who owns Team Foxcatcher. Rounding out the main cast is Mark Ruffalo as Dave Schulz, Mark’s brother and wrestling coach who was shot dead by du Pont back in 1996.
In an interview with The Independent, Tatum opened up about the role and his recent success. “I don’t know how to do this. Every single part is something different, and hopefully you’re doing something different so it’s not derivative of something you’ve done,” he told the paper.
It has been confirmed that Cheryl Burke will not be joiningDancing with the Stars next season. The news came right after it was revealed that DWTS judge Len Goodman will also be leaving the show after the next season. According to reports, Burke will be leaving the ABC dance competition for a new show at NBC. The still-untitled show is still in its early stages, but sources claim that it will be a competition reality show where Burke will perform. Prior to the announcement of her departure, rumors have circulated that Burke was interested in becoming a judge for the show that she has been part of for 10 years.
Burke issued a statement explaining the reasons behind her departure from Dancing with the Stars. She said in the statement, “I never thought I’d be able to walk away. But after a decade of something, it’s time for me to move on and try something different, to be challenged, to feel inspired. Dancing with the Stars will always be a part of my life.” She continued, “Dancing is what I’ve done since I was a little girl. But it was very clear the show only wanted me back as a dancer. They weren’t interested in using me for other things and letting me grow.”
Cheryl also talked about how her contract with Dancing with the Stars restricted her from doing anything else. She said the same thing to TV Guide in an interview back in October. “Contractually, my contract is over and there’s other opportunities that have been out there for me. It’s so hard for me to talk about this, because I owe my life to Dancing with the Stars. They’ve changed my life completely. They’re my family and it’s always hard to say goodbye,” Burke said in the interview.
Half of the comedy duo Cheech & Chong is firing up the new season of the hit reality TV series Dancing With The Stars. Tommy Chong is set to join the cast of Season 19 of the show and display his dancing prowess in the hopes of coming out the winner of this long-running celebrity competition.
At the age of 76, Chong is the oldest competitor thus far to be on the show, but the Cheech & Chong member apparently isn’t fazed by his age and believes that his multi-racial background will win him votes. Chong reportedly said that the fact that he was half-Chinese would make him viable for the Chinese vote, as well as that of other ethnicities such as Korean and Filipino.
“And then because of my association with Cheech, he’s Mexican, so I want to get all the Mexican viewers. And I’m half Scottish and half Irish, so all the Irish and all the Scottish. And I was born in Canada, so all the Canadians. And I’m an American citizen, so all the American citizens around the world. And we’re really big in Australia, so all the Australians. I mean, we can’t lose. Plus, I’m the king of the stoners — so all the stoners. And they’re the kind that’ll vote four or five times ’cause they’ll forget and vote again!” added Chong.
Chong didn’t say if he was going to smoke weed as a secret weapon in Dancing With The Stars, but he has been vocal about using salsa dance to recover from drugs. He has reportedly claimed that the Latin dance style’s fast-paced tempo puts him in a good mood. Competitors Janel Parrish and her partner Val Chmerkovksiy recently told Us Weekly that Chong “has some moves” as well as “the illest hip action I’ve ever seen, for sure.”
We’re less than a month away now from the next season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars and news about the celebrity ballroom dancing competition’s 19th season has begun to trickle out. In addition to the recently revealed news about Julianne Hough re-joining the show as a judge, ABC has revealed the new cast of professional dancers that will be paired up with the new celebrities.
Fans of Dancing with the Stars will recognize many of the next season’s dancers. Returning pros include Mark Ballas, Cheryl Burke, Whitney Carson, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, Peta Murgatroyd, Emma Slater, Karina Smirnoff, and five-time Dancing with the Stars champion Derek Hough.
A few new dancers will be joining the season 19 cast as well. Allison Holker, who got her start on the Fox show So You Think You Can Dance and has been working on Dancing with the Stars as a choreographer, will take the stage in the coming season. Fellow So You Think You Can Dance competitor Artem Chigvintsev has also be part of the new cast. South African dance champion Keoikantse Motsepe will also be paired up with a celebrity for this fall’s show.
The new celebrity cast for this fall’s season has not yet been announced. The stars will make their debut on Thursday, September 4 on ABC’s Good Morning America morning news program.
In addition to the dancer news, ABC this week confirmed that former Dancing with the Stars dancer Julianne Hough will be re-joining the show. The announcement confirmed the rumor that spread earlier this week that Hough will take the role of a judge in the upcoming season. Hough will become the show’s fourth judge alongside Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Tonioli.
“We are delighted to welcome Julianne back to the DWTS family,” said Rob Wade, executive producer for Dancing with the Stars. “Her blend of ballroom dancing experience and unique judging ability make her the ideal choice for the show, and we are very excited to have her, Carrie Ann, Bruno, and Len on board.”
While at the Democratic National Committee fundraiser on Wednesday, July 23, Obama revealed that Monae has a “secret” video of him dancing with R&B singer Usher. The event took place at Shonda Rimes’, the creator of the hit show Scandal and ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy, home where Monae and Obama were just a few of the many guests in attendance.
Obama had the opportunity to speak at the event, and had nothing but nice things to say about the 28-year-old singer. He sang Janelle’s praises and said that he and his wife Michelle both love her and live having her perform at the White House. “Janelle has performed at the White House, like, 15 times,” Obama told the crowd. “There’s going to be an official Janelle Monae room in the White House. We love her. Michelle and I love Janelle. We love her energy. We love her talent. But we most of all love her character. And anybody who gets a chance to talk to her, this is just a remarkable, strong, smart young lady.”
He then jokingly admitted that Janelle was the only person in possession of a secret video of him breaking it down on the dance floor. “And I have to say nice things about her because she may be the only person in possession of a video in which I try to keep up with her and Usher on the dance floor,” he added. “Now, this is top secret. She has promised that this will never be released. But she can blackmail me at any time.”
Janelle admitted that she still had the video, and was asked by Obama to testify to his dancing skills.
“Now, tell the truth now, though, Janelle — I wasn’t bad, though, was I?” he asked. “I’m just saying. Go ahead, testify just a little bit … Let me say I did not drop in splits. But I did bust a move. That I did.”
Maksim Chmerkovskiy has been the topic of headlines the past few weeks. He has been linked to several ladies such as Meryl Davis, Kate Upton, and now Jennifer Lopez.
“I just flew in literally, and I read about this. Those are big names, I’m flattered… I just don’t think that’s anybody’s business,” he said.
Last week, Lopez and Chmerkovskiy were seen hanging out on a Saturday night at The Shrine Club in Connecticut. The pictures that came out revealed how close the two were, and they could have easily been mistaken as a couple.
An insider also said that Lopez and Chmerkovskiy were “flirty” during the entire night. “They partied and seemed really at ease together,” the source said. The two met last November at the American Music Awards.
“What would you like me to say? I’m not dating J.Lo, Meryl or Kate. Maybe I’m dating all three, who knows!” Chmerkovskiy said.
TMZ also stopped Chmerkovskiy on the road and asked him how things are with J.Lo. He responded by saying that it’s “going great.” However, he may have said that just to get rid of the paparazzi and be on his way.
When asked about Davis, his partner in Dancing with the Stars, he said “I love Meryl. We’re friends and we’ll always be.” However, he also explained that his personal life “won’t be anybody’s business.” Davis and Chmerkovskiy have been the subject of romance rumors since they won Dancing with the Stars. However, both parties have always denied that there is something romantic going on between them.
As for his future on Dancing with the Starshe said, “I just don’t think I want to do the show again as a dancer. I wouldn’t be able to do it again at this level, with that big of an emotional output.”
Amy Purdy is the latest contestant to suffer an injury on the dancing competition Dancing with the Stars.
Purdy, a Paralympian snowboarder and one of the top contenders on the show, was rushed to the hospital after she heard a popping in her back.
“Right after judging, I turned my head and my back cracked and it just seized up,” Purdy told Erin Andrews backstage. “Everything’s really painful right now. It’s hard to breathe.”
While Purdy and her partner Derek Hough pulled out a score of 36 out of 40 with their slow rendition of Light My Fire by The Doors, sadly they did not get to participate in the team dance later in the show. “We have our team dance and I feel so bad because I love our dance,” she said. “We all had so much fun putting it together and we were killing it together.”
While in the hospital, receiving treatment, Purdy took the opportunity to update her fans on her prognosis and to thank them for their love and support. “I’m doing okay, thanks for your support everyone! The DR thinks it’s muscular, still waiting on the official word.. #PurdyHough #dwts,” she tweeted and then added, “As we walked away from the judging table my upper back cracked & went into spasms..in pain but I’m in good hands.”
I'm doing okay, thanks for your support everyone! The DR thinks it's muscular, still waiting on the official word.. #PurdyHough#dwts
Purdy said that she doesn’t know if she will be able to take part in the competition next week, but she is keeping her fingers crossed and hoping for good results.
It has been an eventful few months for Good Morning America anchor Robin Roberts. In December, she introduced the world to her girlfriend, Amber Laign. In February, she co-hosted Red Carpet Live.
And now, Dancing with the Stars judges announced, she will be the first celebrity guest judge to feature on the hit reality show. Now on its 18th season, DWTS has resisted the guest-judge trend for longer than many similar reality shows.
The decision was announced on Good Morning America this past Tuesday, March 25th. Each celebrity will be asked to dance a dance that expresses the most memorable year of his or her life. Other celebrities slated to make guest appearances on the show include Julianne Hough and Ricky Martin.
“I am… nervous,” Roberts said after regular judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Len Goodman, and Bruno Toniolo gleefully congratulated her.
“We love guest judges,” exclaimed Inaba.
“We’ll have great fun together,” Toniolo assured her.
Roberts took to Twitter for advice and received plenty of encouraging responses.
Perhaps Roberts simply felt out of practice. She last showed off her dancing skills in 2010 when she danced the cha-cha with DWTS second season contestant Maksim Chmerkovskiy after a day of training from the show.
Watch Roberts’ debut as a guest judge on DWTS Monday, March 31st.
Kevin Bacon kicked off his Sunday shoes and brought Footloose back to life for Jimmy Fallon and his audience on The Tonight Show last week. Thirty years after the film hit theaters, the 55-year-old still has those famous moves.
Fallon started off the show by reading a proclamation stating dancing was deemed illegal on The Tonight Show. The cameras cut to The Following star in his dressing room, where he agonized–a la Footloose–over whether or not to dance.
“Dancing is illegal?” the actor said, fuming. “Jump back – this is The Tonight Show. There has to be dancing.”
Following a series of gyrations and dubbed feats of gravity defying acrobatics, Bacon turned up dressed in Footloose attire and–along with office staff from backstage–sauntered on to The Tonight Show stage dancing. Jimmy Fallon tore up the proclamation, and reinstated the right to dance on the show.
Kevin Bacon has clearly still got it at 55. Even though a stunt double catapulted across the stage earlier in the performance, Bacon’s dance moves are hard to beat. Being 55 has a few caveats, however, as the actor discovered and shared with his Twitter followers the day after his Tonight Show appearance.
Hey @jimmyfallon thanks for a fun hang yesterday. Seems like folks enjoyed the dance. Not gonna lie I'm a little stiff today. @FallonTonight
Did you catch Kevin Bacon’s Footloose revival on The Tonight Show last week? If not, it’s well worth finding the show online at NBC.com and watching it in its entirety. A warning, however, if you do watch. Kevin Bacon puts 55-year-olds to shame–but he will inspire some definite toe tapping.
Have you ever seen something on the Internet and said, “Wow, that guy has way too much time on his hands…”? That probably happens far too often these days, but now one of those rare occasions has popped up where it’s okay to be grateful for such people. A hilarious video mashup of scenes from Christopher Walken movies that shows the actor with his dancing shoes on was released this week, and it is great.
The Christopher Walken Dance Now video mashup was put together by Ben Craw, a video editor with Huffington Post. The video has been viewed more than one million times since being posted to YouTube on Wednesday.
Check out the Christopher Walken Dance Now video below.
Notice any familiar scenes in that video? You should, because the video mashup includes scenes from 57 different films, including The Deer Hunter, Wedding Crashers, and Batman Returns. The scenes in the video are taken from films made back in the 1970s all the way to 2013.
If you never really took notice of Walken’s dance moves on-screen before, then you probably have him in as a shoe-in on the next season of Dancing With the Stars (if DWTS ever decides to use, well, stars). In case you’re wondering where Walken learned how to dance so well, according to Craw, Walken trained at the Washington Dance Studio before getting into acting.
Judging from the comments left on the YouTube video page and posted to Twitter, a lot of people got a kick out of seeing the Christopher Walken dance video (and one user confirmed that the video is, indeed, worth your time, in case you were waiting for a Twitter user endorsement before watching):
OK, the Christopher Walken dance supercut is, in fact, worth your time: http://t.co/6G4KNygioN
If you are a fan of funny celebrity mashup videos, make sure you check out some of the videos Jimmy Fallon has used on his show. Just last month, Fallon did a mashup of NBC’s Brian Williams rapping Rapper’s Delight, which you can check out here.
“I’m very aware of rhythm. It’s constantly there. Musical theatre includes the audience more. For me the audience is another character in the film or play. I’m always aware of it.”
For anyone who has been a dedicated fan of Christopher Walken for more than one decade know that, despite most of the creepy roles he plays, the man can dance.
Initially trained as a dancer in musical theatre at the Washington Dance Studio, the American actor and director dropped out of school at Hofstra University after getting the role of Clayton Dutch Miller in an Off-Broadway revival of Best Foot Forward with Liza Minnelli.
Since then, Walken has appeared in over 100 films and television shows, including Annie Hall, The Deer Hunter, True Romance, Pulp Fiction, and The Prophecy. He has been a popular guest-host on Saturday Night Live, having hosted 7 times, appearing in the ever-popular “More Cowbell” sketch with Will Ferrell and Jimmy Fallon.

But roles in films like Herbert Ross’s musical Pennies From Heaven is where he got to show off his musical theatre training, doing a tap-dancing striptease.
Walken also appeared in Fatboy Slim’s 2001 music video, Weapon of Choice, where he was the solo performer in the whole video, dancing through a deserted hotel lobby. Directed by Spike Jonze, the video won six awards at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards
Now Huffington Post video editor Ben Craw has put together a fabulous dance mash-up made up of 57 of Walken’s films, including the above-mentioned Pennies From Heaven, Hairspray, Wayne’s World 2, and King of New York (where he reportedly improvised the dance moves on the spot).
Despite having online popularity, Walken is not a fan of modern technology.
“You’re talking about the internet, I suppose? I don’t have a computer, or a cell phone. I’m a Luddite,” Walken told the British edition of Esquire magazine when asked about footage of him found online.
“I live in a place that’s a bit isolated. When you get older you’re not aware of all sorts of things, like new music. There’s lots of stuff that just doesn’t come under my radar.”
However, despite the fact that the 70-year old actor may never see the new mash-up dance video, we are sure glad it’s out there.
Chelsie Hightower may not be dancing as a pro on season 18 of Dancing With the Stars (DWTS), but she is weighing in on all of the performances from week one.
The ballroom dancer, who was a professional on DWTS for seasons 8 – 12, as well as seasons 14 and 15, is sizing up the contestants on a blog for ABC and on a panel with Good Morning America (GMA).
In her blog, Hightower admits that contestant Danica McKellar is her early favorite, though she was impressed by most of the contestants.
While she didn’t think Billy Dee Williams was a “great dancer,” she did give him some advice, “Just give it a little more energy and work on using those arms! We just want to see a little improvement every week. You got this!”
Like many who watched the season 18 opener of DWTS, Hightower was inspired by Amy Purdy and her performance. “Amy has sterling courage to face the stiff challenge this show presents! That is not just noteworthy but absolutely inspiring to all who will watch her performances in the coming weeks,” said Hightower.
Hightower gave positive reviews to all contestants, ending her post with, “Over-all it was an impressive ‘Dancing with the Stars’ seasonal premiere! If the opening show is any indication, and it is, this will be a strong season featuring great dancing!”
On Tuesday morning Hightower joined former DWTS contestant Sherri Shepherd, Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos, Josh Elliott, and Amy Robach, to further discuss the performances from the first night of season 18 of DWTS.
Diana Nyad, 64, gained her name to fame last year when she became the first person to swim from Cuba to Florida without the aid of a shark cage, or any other assistance.
Now, Nyad is going to take on a new endeavor, and try her hand at dancing. That’s right … Diana has joined the season 18 cast members of Dancing With The Stars! She will be joining her partner Henry Byalikov on the dance floor in hopes of obtaining the famous mirror ball trophy.
Byalikov has quite an impressive dancing resume, as he has appeared in Australia’s So You Think You Can Dance, Strictly Dancing and Dancing With the Stars. He also appeared in the hit film The Great Gatsby as a dancer.
Nyad won over the hearts of Americans in 2013 when she finally reached her goal that she had attempted 4 previous times, of swimming from Havana to Key West, a total of 110 miles. It was an amazing journey, that many people figured she could not conquer, especially at her age. However, thousands of people lined the beach of Key West, awaiting Nyad’s arrival.
“They’re not people reading a sports page every day,” she said. “Those are human beings who want to witness the living out of that message, never, ever give up. And find a way. … And my age, they’re looking at me as a baby boomer, saying life is not over at this age by any means. So I’m more of, shall we say, human spirit story than I am a sports story.”

The question on everyone’s mind…who will be the winner of the 17th season of Dancing with the Stars? The first part of the two-part finale aired last night on ABC. The second part will air tonight and the winner will be announced.
During a recent interview with TVGuide.com, Carrie Ann Inaba talked about the final four contestants and described the competition as having “two completely different types of competitors.”
“I think we have two completely different types of competitors,” Inaba said. “We have Corbin and Amber, who are in one class. And then you have Jack and Bill, who are totally of a different class. I think it’s really interesting the way the fans have voted. I think people are really a fan of the whole idea of somebody who doesn’t know how to dance really making the transformation, which is what Jack and Bill fall into.”
Inaba also talked about the person to beat on the show…Bill Engvall. Throughout the season, Engvall’s fans voted to keep him in the competition, even when he received lower scores than the other dancers.
“I think we’ve gone back to what the heart of the show is, which makes me really proud of our viewers,” Inaba says. “They remember what the show was about when we first started, which was taking people who didn’t know dancing and transforming them into dancers. I think that it’s really nice to see people voting that way. … People like watching people that they can relate to [and] they’re rewarding somebody who’s just going for it, gung ho, not afraid, and sometimes making a fool out of himself. But he’s having a great time and he’s doing it the way it should be done, which is all in good spirits and all in good fun.”
However, last night just was not Engvall’s night, as he left the competition, leaving only three to fight for the trophy. The final three contestants were revealed and are Jack Osbourne, Amber Riley, and Corbin Bleu.
“Well, it just goes to prove to me that there is a God because I couldn’t make one more dance,” said Bill. “I can’t tell you how proud I am of Emma. She’s like my second daughter now — we just had a blast.” He thanked the judges and then made a special point of thanking his wife, Gail, who was in the audience every week. “I will never forget this — and thanks to the fans who voted this long.”
It's just not going to be the same without @billengvall and @EmmaSlaterDance the phenom of Season 17. #DWTS .. Oh wait,he'll be there tnite
Most people would be terrified before undergoing surgery, but not Dr. Deborah Cohan. She held a dance party there in the operating room right before she was scheduled to go under the knife at the University of California-San Francisco Medical Center at Mount Zion.
Cohan was diagnosed with breast cancer and was getting ready to have a double mastectomy. How did she talk the team of doctors and nurses to dance with her? Well, she is also affiliated with the hospital. Cohan is an OB-GYN who specializes in the treatment of pregnant women with HIV.
Not only did she convince the surgical staff to dance with her to Beyoncé’s “Get Me Bodied”, she had an entire dance mob planned and received pictures and videos from friends, family, and complete strangers dancing along with her. On her Caring Bridge journal, she asked everyone to participate saying, “My fantasy is for you to play the song and dance wherever you happen to be (in the kitchen, the carwash, subway platform [Dan!], classroom, Labor and Delivery unit, wherever!) — ideally at 7:30am but really anytime Tuesday. It would be extra remarkable if you could send me a photo (or, better yet, a short video segment) of you dancing. I have visions of a healing video montage. Nothing brings me greater joy than catalyzing others to dance, move, be in their bodies. Are you with me people?”
Cohan says she was less nervous about how the surgery would go than the dance mob. “I was more nervous about how the flash mob was going to go than how the surgery was going to go,” she said. The six-minute video was posted on YouTube and has already received over 250,000 views.
Thousands of people have commented on her story and say that she is truly an inspiration. One viewer wrote: “Deborah- the strength and vitality you have is an inspiration to us all- to get out there and “be” in our bodies and to enjoy it- and personally – girl – you have some killer moves- I wish you love, peace and light on your journey of recovering! You got this-” Another viewer said: “What a gift you are to this world. So grateful for your willingness to share your experience. You are a beautiful spirit and your children are so blessed. Looking forward to a follow up video far, far in the future when you’re a very old woman; I bet you’ll still have the moves! Speedy recovery and many thanks.”
Cohan was discharged from the hospital on Wednesday and is hoping for a speedy recovery so she can get back to the dance floor.
Cher was recently chosen to be a judge on Dancing With The Stars, and as a result she has called on her son, Chaz Bono for help. The professional dancers and celebrities on the show are both excited, and nervous about having Cher as a judge.
With the assistance of Chaz Bono, perhaps she will learn how to be a judge, and be a positive addition to the show, but as she currently stands, she herself has admitted to being worried about the part.
She is not going into the part completely empty-handed however, the producers have given her a binder that is complete with all of the info that she will need in order to critique the contestants.
Chaz was born as Chastity, and has since become a man, working strongly for gay rights, and for others that are troubled with their identity like he was growing up. He is the only child of Cher and Sonny Bono.
Cher, The legendary singer-songwriter is known for her hit songs such as “Believe,” “If I Could Turn Back Time,” and more. She has also appeared in several films including Moonstruck, Mask, and the new musical Burlesque. She has won both a Grammy and an Oscar throughout her career.
She will be guest judging for the show on Monday, and will also be performing two songs during the show. She will certainly fit in with the rest of the cast of Dancing With The Stars in terms of costumes. She has enjoyed displaying a variety of outrageous costumes throughout her musical career on stage, and plans to wear three different outfits for the show. She plans to perform her hit “Believe,” as well as “I Hope You Find It,” from her new album “Closer To The Truth.”
I'm so pumped up 4 #DWTS on Mon with my mom @cher filling in for Len and performing. For me it's like 2 deferent families coming together.
Chaz Bono also performed as a contestant on the show in 2011, and she feels that she can turn to him for advice. She was very excited to have her son give her tips, and when he came over he said “Mom, you don’t understand how seriously people take this. I’m coming over tonight and … I’m going to tutor you.” She admitted that she will need all the help that she can get.
Whenever you see actress Elizabeth Berkley, you automatically think of “Saved by the Bell,” and that ‘most likely to succeed’ air of Jesse Spano. However, there was one iconic moment that all SBTB fans remember when Jesse Spano fell apart.
In the famous ‘pill-popping’ episode, Jesse was definitely in her element – overexerting herself, taking on one too many obligations at a time, trying to meet several deadlines simultaneously. Of course, she wouldn’t concede, and throw in the towel to admit she was in over her head. So, she turned to caffeine pills to curb the desire for much-needed rest in order to forge on. The alternative worked for a minute, but the results were short-lived. After a brief jolt of wired energy, her perseverance led to the ultimate melt down when she fell apart in front of Zack.
Since everyone remembers the unforgettable moment, Berkley decided to channel that energy, taking it to a whole new level. Last night, Berkley went back in time with her reenactment of the memorable scene on Dancing with the Stars. Her dance partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, portrayed Mark-Paul Gosselaar’s role of Zack Morris. The recreated dramatization took place right before her dance routine kicked off.

Berkley received lauded reviews for her performance, as it was almost verbatim to the original scene. Fans who tuned into DWTS also tweeted praises to the actress. Berkley also took a moment to reflect, re-tweeting some of the posts.
Mark-Paul Gosselaar also chimed in on Twitter to congratulate Berkley.

She also spoke with Yahoo! TV to weigh in on her sentiments toward the SBTB episode itself. “It is one of my favorite episodes,” Berkley told Yahoo TV. “And because it’s a fan favorite, it has a special place in my heart. It connects us all to our childhood. Most episodes dealt a bit more with ‘who asked who to the dance,’ where as this one dealt with a heavier subject matter. Of all the moments from the show, that felt like the right one to do.”
Everyone who watched this year’s VMA’s on MTV definitely remember the biggest performance of the night. No one did it better than Miley Cyrus. Her controversial performance of “We Can’t Stop Blurred Lines” and “Give it 2 U” with Robin Thicke and 2Chainz was definitely unprecedented. The awards show wasn’t even over before the ranting and raving had begun. Some fans were shocked, others found it exhilarating, and a few found it down right repulsive. But, one thing’s for sure, it was entertainment at its finest.

Well, after the memorable Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke twerk performance, there was another star determined not to be outdone. Especially not when the man Miley danced with was her husband. That’s right! Paula Patton has joined the ‘twerk’ revolution. However, Patton’s twerk performance wasn’t out of spite. It was purely spontaneous and comical.
The “Jumping the Broom” actress stopped by the Today Show to discuss her upcoming role in the new David E. Talbert film, “Baggage Claim.” Her segment was initially purposed to give a synopsis on the film, but the discuss was quickly diverted at the mere mention of the word ‘marriage.’ Savannah Guthrie wasted no time going in for the kill, asking the one thing everyone really wanted to know. What did Paula Patton think about Miley’s twerk performance with her husband, Robin Thicke? Patton coolly said, “I wasn’t surprised at all. Honestly, they rehearsed for three days beforehand, and I don’t know how not to dance with someone having their booty in your…. all my friends do it like that. And I don’t really know what the big deal is. I don’t know if they thought Miley was going to sit down and play piano like Alicia Keys.” Patton went on to say that she was actually ‘confused’ by all of the negative energy. So, in a nutshell, Paula Patton just isn’t the jealous type. She knows the ins and outs of the business, with the sole understanding that the performance was just that – a performance.
Then, surprisingly, Patton decided to put on her own performance. To add to the lighthearted banter, she and Al Roker decided to put on a twerk performance of their own. For the sake of laughter, the performance lasted all of 10 seconds, but who’s counting?
According to Celebuzz, at the end of the day, Miley has Patton’s ‘twerk seal of approval,’ and Al Roker has hers! Paula Patton’s upcoming film “Baggage Claim” hits theaters nationwide next Friday, September 27.
