  • “Curse of Chucky”: Jennifer Tilly Returns

“When a mysterious package arrives at the house of Nica, she doesn’t give it much thought. However, after her mother’s mysterious death, Nica begins to suspect that the talking, red-haired doll her visiting niece has been playing with may be the key to the ensuing bloodshed and chaos.”

Yes, that’s right, Chucky is back! And so is Jennifer Tilly!

The “Chucky” horror films started in 1988 with the first hit movie, “Child’s Play”, and movie about a serial killer and voodoo practictioner, Charles Lee “Chucky” Ray, who possesses a doll to get revenge on a detective and to avoid going to hell. The series continues with “Child’s Play 2” (1990), “Child’s Play 3 (1991)”, “Bride of Chucky” (1998), “Seed of Chucky” (2004). Now Chucky is back with the sixth installment of the series, “Curse of Chucky” (2013).

Tilly plays Chucky’s long-time lover and in the “Curse of Chucky”, she is helping him “tie up loose ends”.

“She is helping him in his nefarious ways. There are people he forgot to kill and he’s a perfectionist. He will not stop. He’s not going to stop painting the Sistine Chapel before he’s finished. He’s tying up loose ends,” she said. “I think Tiffany will always be in love with Chucky no matter how horribly he treats her.”

Tilly says that she was excited to be coming back for the role, even though she doesn’t get much screen time. “I mean, it was like coming home again,” she said. “It was really fun to drag out the push-up bra, the seven-inch heels and put on the blond wig again. Every 10 years or so they let me make another Chucky movie,” she said.

“Curse of Chucky” is already out on video on demand and hits Blu-ray and DVD on October 8.

  • Jennifer Tilly Talks New “Chucky” Movie

Jennifer Tilly may have one of the most distinctive voices in the business, but for horror fans, she also has one of the most distinctive faces…one that’s been molded in plastic.

Tilly starred in “Bride Of Chucky” in 1998 as the little ginger-haired killer’s love interest and again in 2004’s “Seed Of Chucky”, and now she’s back for “Curse Of Chucky” in a role that’s more dysfunctional than loving.

“She is helping him in his nefarious ways. There are people he forgot to kill and he’s a perfectionist,” says Tilly. “He will not stop. He’s not going to stop painting the Sistine Chapel before he’s finished. He’s tying up loose ends. But their love continues. I think Tiffany will always be in love with Chucky no matter how horribly he treats her.”

Tilly doesn’t get much screen time in the film–it’s more of a cameo–but she says she was still excited to get back into the old role.

“It was really fun to drag out the push-up bra, the seven-inch heels and put on the blond wig again,” Tilly said. “Every 10 years or so they let me make another Chucky movie…I mean, it was like coming home again.”

“Curse Of Chucky” will be released on DVD/Blu-Ray on October 8.

  • Chucky Returns in Latest Movie, “Curse of Chucky”

There’s one classic series of horror films that always seems to bring Halloween to life, and after nine years, one character in particular comes back to life – Chucky. The demonic doll makes his way back to the big screen in “Curse of Chucky.” It started out as a mere rumor, or maybe it was more of a longing for horror movie enthusiasts. But whatever, the case, he’s definitely back with a vengeance.

The “Curse of Chucky” is the sixth film in Don Mancini’s Child’s Play installment, marking the 25th year anniversary of the first release. The new film centers around the character Nica, who is a paraplegic due to defects from birth. She and her mother receive an eerie package in the mail, only to find Chucky in the box. Her mother dismisses the doll throwing him in the trash. Later that night, she dies mysteriously.

In wake of their mother’s untimely death, her sister, brother-in-law, and their daughter, Alice come into the picture. Alice begins playing with the doll. Following the mysterious events surrounding her mother’s death, Nica starts to have eerie reservations about the toy doll her niece is playing with. While she constantly reassures herself the doll is fake, she can’t help but question the recent turn of events that have occurred upon the doll arriving. It’s been nothing but vile bloodshed and utter chaos since they arrived.

In an exclusive interview with USA Today, Child’s Play veteran star, Jennifer Tilly, widely known for her role as Chucky’s love interest Tiffany, briefed the fans on her return to the highly anticipated film.

“It was really fun to drag out the push-up bra, the seven-inch heels and put on the blond wig again,” admitted Tilly, It’s a fantastic moment when Tiffany materializes in the movie.” While Tilly’s role is only a cameo, she was ecstatic to relive the warped love affair that Chucky and Tiffany shared on camera. “I think Tiffany will always be in love with Chucky no matter how horribly he treats her,” said Tilly.

“Curse of Chucky” is scheduled to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray on October 8, 2013 in the United States.

  • Curse of Chucky Red Band Trailer Released

Just like most of their antagonists, horror franchises never die. It’s an unwritten rule of some sort. So, the fact that a movie titled Curse of Chucky is on the way should come as now surprise to movie-goers.

Though the Child’s Play series has certainly gotten silly enough for a “gritty” reboot, Curse of Chucky isn’t quite that. Instead, the movie is set in a time shortly after Child’s Play 3, cutting out Bride of Chucky and Seed of Chucky entirely. Brad Dourif is back as the voice of Chucky, and Don Mancini (the writer of all the Child’s Play movies and the director of Seed of Chucky) is back as the movie’s writer/director.

The movie also seems to be trying to capture more of the creepy horror elements from the first two Child’s Play flicks. The story involves a woman visiting family after the death of her mother, and a young niece who loves a red-haired doll that mysteriously showed up in a package. As seen in the new red band trailer below, people begin dying in horrible ways:

Curse of Chucky won’t be hitting theaters this Halloween. In a series first, the movie will be straight-to-DVD, with a release date of October 8.
