  • Joan Jett Launches Clothing Line For Hot Topic

Joan Jett has decided to take on a new endeavor in fashion!

According to Nymag.com, Jett has been working with Tripp NYC designers Daang and Ray Goodman to create a clothing line that will be sold in Hot Topic stores.

The 56-year-old American rocker has been known for her own unique style with her black punk hairstyle and dark make-up. For years, she said she has been thinking of doing something in fashion, but never got around to doing it.

“I’ve talked about doing something like this over the years but nothing ever came to fruition. Daang and Ray really get my styles and I didn’t have to do the nuts and bolts of the design,” Jett told Women’s Wear Daily. “They take my essence and translate my vibe and we go from there.”

Hot Topic has 658 stores in the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, along with their online site, and Jett said she is excited to launch her very first clothing line there. All of her items are reasonably priced and range from $32.50- $64.50.

“I’ve known about Hot Topic for years and years because on the road there are very few places in certain areas of the country where you can find kind of rock ’n’ roll clothes. And Tripp is kind of famous in New York for catering to that rock ’n’ roll downtown, edgy kind of vibe,” she said.

  • Halle Berry to Debut Lingerie Line at Target

Halle Berry is many things. She’s an actress, a model, a mother, an activist, and an Oscar-winner. Now the star is pursuing fashion with a new line of clothing set to debut in Target stores.

According to a Los Angeles Times report, Berry’s clothing line is set to debut online and in U.S. Target stores on October 27. The line will then roll out to more countries next year.

The clothing is a collection of lingerie inspired by Berry and branded by Scandale Paris. Berry’s Scandale collection currently consists of 10 clothing items, including bras and panties, which sell for between $7 and $18.

Scandale Paris is a French lingerie line that has existed since the 1930s. In a statement released on Thursday Berry said that she “fell in love” with Scandale lingerie while in Paris, and that the underwear reminded her of the city itself.

“I am excited for the U.S. debut to be at Target and to launch the brand globally in 2015,” said Berry. “I look forward to giving more women the chance to enjoy what European women have come to love for more than eight decades.”

Berry revealed in an AP report this week just how closely she is working with Scandale on the new clothing line. As the owner of the line Berry had a hand in designing the undergarments. She told the AP that she has “a pulse on what American women want,” but that she also “kept all the qualities of the Parisian sort of style intact” in the new clothing line. Berry stated that underwear is an important step for women looking to feel good about themselves and also suggested that her underwear could help woman feel “sexy and feminine and empowered.”

Berry has starred in dozens of movies throughout her career and won the 2001 Academy Award for best actress for her role in Monster’s Ball. Berry recently reprised her role as superhero Storm in X-Men: Days of Future Past. The actress also recently starred in the CBS television series Extant.

  • Kelly Osbourne Creates Clothing Line For Sizes 0-24

Kelly Osbourne has collaborated with Jupi Corp to create a new clothing line for women of all sizes.

“This is a line for every woman to make her own memories and tell her own stories,” Osbourne said.

She explained that she wants women to feel good about themselves, whether they are a size 0 or a 24. “I realized that each garment in my closet told a story, both good and bad. There was the dress I wore on a first date, and the dress I wore that got me on every best-dressed list. I’m excited to see what incredible stories women will create with pieces from this collection,” she said.

Osbourne said her primary focus when designing the line was fit. She wanted to make sure that the garments would fit perfectly so they would give women the confidence to do whatever they set their mind to.

“Fit is the most important part of my design process,” Osbourne added. “As a woman, I know that when something fits you right, it gives you the confidence to feel unstoppable. Whether or not the style is a size 0 or a size 24, all the designs create tailored and slimming silhouettes.”

The new line, titled Stories…By Kelly Osbourne, is set to debut next month through the retailer HSN, and will feature tops, bottoms, jackets and dresses. “HSN is thrilled to partner with Kelly Osbourne and Jupi Corp to be the first to launch this stylish new collection,” Anne Martin Vachon, HSN’s chief merchandising officer, said in a statement. “Kelly knows what it takes for women of all shapes and sizes to achieve their own personal style and we look forward to her sharing her story with our millions of customers in September.”

  • Jersey Shore’s Snooki Creates Fashion Line

Jersey Shore’s Snooki Creates Fashion Line

That’s right, the leopard print-clad reality TV star is making headlines again. But this time-it’s for her brand new clothing line.

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi recently debuted her fabulous first fashion line, SnookiLove by Nicole Polizzi, at the Magic Market Week clothing convention in Las Vegas last Tuesday.

Polizzi joined forces with clothing manufacturer Double Zero for her new women’s sportswear collection.
“After trying a few companies I realized Double Zero was the best fit for my line,” she said. “Hard working people who understand where I wanted to go in terms of fashion and designs.”

While her clothing is available for sale on her website, Snooki still hasn’t announced who will be carrying her new collection.

The 26-year-old collaborated with Double Zero’s chief designer Jason Kim to produce the juniors line. “Jason is my homie. He knows what I love and we work together to build ideas for great pieces,” she continued.

While the fashion line isn’t the Jersey girl’s only side project, she gives kudos to her fans for supporting her many business ventures.

“The opportunity for these ventures is only because of the fans and their support!” the fashionista explained. “They’ve supported me through my crazy times growing up on ‘Jersey Shore’ and now maturing with me in becoming a mother and I couldn’t be happier! My brand will only expand with all the amazing support I get.”

The line features over 50 garments ranging in price from $19.95 to $99.95.

  • Pretty Little Liars Has A New Clothing Line

Pretty Little Liars, for those who might not know, is a hit television show that airs on ABC Family, with the story line revolving around a group of friends who, as IMDb puts it, “band together against an anonymous foe who threatens to reveal their darkest secrets, whilst unraveling the mystery of the murder of their best friend.” And when the writer says this show is a hit, she means it; the show is incredibly popular among high school-aged viewers, as are the books the show is based on. So popular, in fact, that there is a new clothing line being launched with the show’s name on it.

The clothing line surely won’t come as a surprise to fans of the show; the lead characters are often dressed to the nines, and style is a very important part of the show’s aesthetic. With that in mind, it’s certainly not surprising that Aeropostale would pick up the show’s fashionable, up-and-coming clothing line. Fans of the show won’t be disappointed, either; the clothes are being designed by the show’s costume designer, Mandi Line, for a four-season collection.

Line, when asked about her involvement, seemed very excited about the opportunity and positive about her creations. She was quoted as saying, “I knew that if the cards aligned this would be the ideal show for a clothing line. It’s just so popular- a combination of the books, and edgy, savvy team, and a cast that embodies everything. The line is only going to get better and better.”

Fans will also be pleased to hear that they can get their hands on a piece of the clothing just in time for the show’s return to the silver screen by shopping on the website, with the pieces being divided by character. This allows the line to feature all kinds of styles, ranging from “tomboy” to “girly,” meaning that any fan will surely be able to find something stylish to add to their wardrobe while supporting a show they love. And with all the pieces being between $18 and $72, a new addition to a budding fashionista’s wardrobe won’t break her bank, either. It seems like everyone wins with this line!

  • Amanda Bynes Leaves Rehab for the Holidays

27-year-old Amanda Bynes has officially left rehab to join her family for the holidays. According to a statement from her mother’s attorney, Tamar Arminak, Bynes is, “feeling better every day.”

It’s been a rocky road for the blonde beauty as she’s been in rehab dealing with criticism from tabloids, all while trying to find herself as something other than what she’s been recognized as for her entire life-an actress.

“Amanda and her entire family would like to thank everyone who’s contacted them with good thoughts and wishes for Amanda’s recovery,” her mother’s attorney tells People in a statement.

“Despite the fact Amanda is no longer in a facility, her outpatient treatment is continuing. She’s very happy to reestablish the loving relationship with her family that she once shared,” said Arminak.

Bynes faces DUI charges from an April 2012 incident where she allegedly hit the side of a police cruiser. Her next court date is scheduled for Jan. 7, 2014 where both parties will reevaluate where the star stands, taking a closer look her progress along the way.

It hasn’t been an easy road for Bynes, dealing with constant criticism from various media outlets and people alike. But the once Nickelodeon star certainly hasn’t kept her responses about it private, taking to Twitter to fire back.

It’s true, Bynes is an open book.

So what’s the Hairspray actress planning on doing next? Now that she’s been retired from acting for three years, it seems like the perfect time for Bynes to do something up her current alley. According to Arminak, there might be some schooling in Bynes’ near future.

“She’s now looking at various colleges with the intention of majoring in fashion design,” the statement continues. “She’s mentioned before she’s interested in creating a clothing line,” said Arminak.

A clothing line would definitely be a different stroke for the once-actress, and maybe this is the fresh start that she needs to find her niche and true happiness. Until then, we’ll stay tuned for a sweet, new clothing line.

  • Charlize Theron Could Start a Denim Clothing Line [RUMOR]

Charlize Theron is pretty good at keeping her private life private. Last we heard from her, baseless rumors in September 2012 were insinuating that she was dating Eric Stonestreet of Modern Family fame and in November 2012 the style press began to go crazy over the actresses new buzz-cut look for the upcoming movie Mad Max: Fury Road.

Now, it appears that the South African star may be shifting her focus slightly from acting to fashion. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Theron could soon launch a line of denim clothing.

The report states that Theron and celebrity stylist Leslie Fremar are currently shopping around the idea of a “Theron Jeans” line to denim companies.

Celebrity clothing lines are nothing new or special, but a clothing line from Theron could go to support her Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project (CTAOP), which has the mission of preventing the spread of AIDS among Africa’s youth. The actress recently partnered with clothing brand Toms to create a shoe that supports the CTAOP:

  • Apple Had Its Own Clothing Line in the Eighties

Apple has often been criticized for caring more about their image and style than providing top-of-the-line products, placing form above function in some of its devices. For Apple haters, these pictures are proof positive that their image has been their top priority for a while now. Presenting, the Apple clothing line circa 1986.

Disclaimer: I personally think that Apple makes good products. Many of them use top of the line hardware. But, like so many clothing lines out there, you are paying for the design (and the brand) on top of the functionality. A laptop with the same specs can cost $500+ if purchased from Apple. So, like the fashion industry, Apple becomes the thing to own to look stylish and hip.

That’s fine. Their electronics are stylish and hip. Their clothes — not so much.

I can’t say much for most of this collection, but I would kill for one of those belts. I was unable to find any of them online, but I did manage to find this sweatshirt on eBay, featured at the top of this article. This one goes for $100, indicating exactly how rare these items actually are. Or, rather, how absolutely everything Apple makes is overpriced.

Rare or not, it’ll be a cold day in hell before I spend $100 for an Apple sweatshirt.
