  • Miranda Lambert Gives Instagram Shout-Out to Anderson East, Uses Pigs

Miranda Lambert gave her new boyfriend Anderson East a shout-out on Instagram, with pigs making up part of the post.

Anderson East shared a clip first, however. His clip featured two little pigs getting stared down by cows through a barbed wire fence. The pigs are wearing University of Alabama jerseys in honor of that team’s game against Clemson on Monday night.

Miranda Lambert reposted the same clip, with a few emojis added in. She also shared lyrics from her Pistol Annies song “Boys from the South.”

    “Somethin’ bout a boy from the south”…❤️ #Bama @andersoneast @prissy_pig #piglovebiglove #Texasgirlinacrimsonworld #rolltide #hookemhorns,” she captioned it.

Miranda Lambert finally seems happy again, since her divorce from Blake Shelton this summer. It was just about a week ago that she went public with her relationship with Anderson East.

“The snuggle is real… @andersoneast ?:@raytair @ape_lewis,” she captioned the following photo.

Are you glad to see Miranda Lambert dating again? It seemed when she and Blake Shelton first divorced that she might remain single for a while.

Blake Shelton moved on fairly quickly with fellow Voice coach Gwen Stefani–once again leaving Miranda in the dust.

It’s nice to see Miranda Lambert has found her own special someone.

Do you think she’s in it with Anderson East on a serious basis, or is this more of a casual fling?

  • Urban Meyer Seen Eating Pizza Alone After OSU Lost

Ohio State suffered a heart-breaking loss over the weekend when they lost the Big Ten Championship. As the No.2 ranked team coming into the game along with a 24-game winning streak, the odds seemed to be in their favor. However, the Spartans had other plans, and showed the strength of their defense once again when beating the Buckeyes.

In a hilarious, and somewhat sad activity, Ohio State’s coach, Urban Meyer, was unfortunately caught eating a pizza alone on a golf cart after the game was over. There are many haters of Ohio State around the country for a variety of a reasons, and as a result, many people were happy to see them lose on Saturday night.

Urban Meyer’s Buckeyes lost, but it certainly was not on any last second plays that could compare to what happened in the Iron Bowl in which Auburn defeated Alabama.

Michigan State controlled much of the game, and even jumped out to a 17-0 lead. Auburn also had a reason to root for MSU in this game, due to the fact that if Ohio State were to lose, then they would be sent to the national championship. While Braxton Miller has been known to destroy Ohio State’s opponents throughout the season, he started out slow, and Michigan State’s Connor Cook finished with an impressive game passing for 304 yards and three touchdowns.

The game had big implications for the Spartans too, sending them to the Rose Bowl for the first time since 1988, where they will meet Stanford in Pasadena, California. The Spartans crushed any hopes of Ohio State heading to a national championship, and after two undefeated seasons, it has been all for nothing again.

The Spartans have also had a long traditions of rioting and burning couches after games, and made their presence known in East Lansing after the win, helping to create this graphic.

Despite the success that Urban Meyer has had with Ohio State, he has not been able to get them to a national championship. Last season, they experienced a post-season ban due to an NCAA investigation over improper benefits.

Meyer thought he could have his chance at redemption this year, but after the loss, he simply consoled himself with a personal pizza from Papa John’s in the tunnel, while surrounded by family.

While they were originally set to head to the national championship, Urban Meyer’s Buckeyes are now headed to the Orange Bowl to face Clemson, a tough ACC team that is led by quarterback Taj Boyd.

  • BCS Standings: Top 3 Unchanged, SEC Continues To Dominate

The BCS standings have been updated yet again, and without a change in the top 3 spots, Alabama and Florida State continue to show that they are the top two teams in the nation.

However, Ohio State is making their case as well, and with big games coming up against Michigan and Michigan State, they have a chance at the championship game as well.

The BCS standings have been changing a lot lately, and it was looking like Oregon or Baylor might even have a chance at the national championship with impressive wins in the next couple of weeks, but after they both lost on Saturday, it is not looking good for either of them.

Alabama and Florida State have been dominating their opponents all year, and it seems to be set for them to play in the championship, but as the season comes to an end, it is hard to know what will happen.

Auburn and Missouri are also in the top 5, as the SEC has continued to dominate once again this year. South Carolina and Texas A&M could easily shake things up as well during rivalry week, as they have big games against Clemson and Missouri, respectively.

While Alabama and Florida State are still undefeated with 11-0 records, Ohio State is right up there with them, and will have an interesting meeting with Michigan State in the Big Ten Championship. If Michigan State wins, they will go to the Rose Bowl, something that has not happened for the Spartans in a long time, who is undefeated in the Big Ten this year.

However, if Ohio State wins, and beats Michigan to close out the season next week, they will likely play for the National Championship. Jerry Palm, a BCS analyst said that if Alabama or Florida State are to slip up, then Ohio State would move up into the top spot, but speaking on the likelihood of Missouri or Auburn jumping into the equation, he said “The coaches in particular are not going to allow an undefeated to not play for the title. They understand how hard it is to finish unbeaten. It hasn’t happened yet in the BCS and there is no reason to think it would this year.

Almost anything is likely to happen with the top 5 teams in the BCS standings as the season comes to a close, but the top 3 teams continue to give themselves more separation. Auburn and Missouri sit at #4 and #5, and a SEC championship win could potentially send either of them to the championship.

The bowl projections are being set up with all sorts of scenarios already, and what happens in the SEC will likely be the deciding factor, since the SEC currently 3 teams in the top 5.

Does anyone have any big predictions? What will happen once this wild season finally comes to a close? Discuss.

As the top teams around the league head into rivalry week, anything is likely to happen with the BCS standings, and they all better play their best if they want to have a chance to play in the national championship.

  • Clemson’s Tajh Boyd Says Gambling Rumor Isn’t True

The past week hasn’t been so great for Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd. Not only did the Heisman hopeful have a poor showing in a 51-14 loss against Florida State this past Saturday night, some gambling rumors involving Boyd have surfaced, which he says are absolutely untrue.

The rumors surfaced over the weekend online after a person who goes by the alias Incarcerated Bob said that Boyd has more than $80,000 in gambling debt related to bets made on NFL games.

While people wouldn’t typically bat an eye at such online rumors–especially ones made by users hiding behind a screen name–Incarcerated Bob is well known in the gambling world as he often sells insider information to gamblers, which is why the rumor grew legs. According to The Clemson Insider, Incarcerated Bob said that his information “comes from direct sources in Vegas that have ties to the bookies.”

“I don’t really know where that came from,” Boyd said. “When I heard it, it was pretty shocking. That being built on top of the loss made it a rough little weekend.” Boyd tried to keep a good sense of humor about the allegations and said that he doesn’t get to watch enough NFL games to have a problem gambling on them.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was informed of the allegations prior to the Florida State game, but Boyd didn’t find out until Sunday morning when he was forced to clear up the matter.

“That just added to my beautiful Sunday,” Swinney said. “I spoke to Tajh about it, and he just shook his head. So, I have no reason to not believe Tajh Boyd. That is the only comment there is.” Swinney also added, “I have no reason not to trust him, absolutely. No question, his integrity is impeccable.” Boyd, a senior, hasn’t had any off-the-field issues in his time at Clemson and is also an ACC Academic Honor Roll member.

Boyd’s parents are outraged at the accusation. “These reports are totally false,” Carla Boyd, Tajh’s mom, said. “Please leave my son alone.” His mom said they are considering pursuing legal action, if they can find out the true identity of Incarcerated Bob.

Unfortunately for Boyd, the gambling rumors issue isn’t closed just yet. Athletic Director Dan Radakovich asked the Clemson compliance office to examine the report. The athletic department also forwarded the gambling rumors report to the Atlantic Coast Conference.

  • BCS Standings Simulated; Alabama Leads List

The official BCS rankings will not be released until October 20, after the Harris Interactive Poll is tabulated for the first time. Until then, all college football pundits and fans can do is speculate. However, CBSsports.com decided to use the data that was currently available to release its unofficial BCS standings:

    BCS List

It is no surprise that Alabama sits atop the “first” BCS list. After winning 2 National Championships in the past 3 years and starting the season as strong as ever, Alabama is poised to make another title run. The team listed at number 2 may surprise some, however. While the Oregon Ducks are currently ranked No. 2 in the AP Poll and have continued to display their dazzling offense and creative jerseys, Clemson finds itself at No. 2 in the preliminary BCS list. Not only do the Tigers surpass the Ducks when other factors are considered besides human voting, but Stanford manages to jump Oregon as well.

All of this shifting of the ranks may lead one to ask, “How in the hell is the BCS computed, anyway?” The answer to this question is something all fans have wanted to know, mainly due to all of the frustration and fan disappointment the system has caused over the years.

The BCS was designed as a system to ensure that the 2 best teams in college football played each other in the national championship every year. In order to alleviate human error, the BCS system considers multiple factors when determining which teams are best.

The BCS is comprised of three different polls – the Harris Interactive Poll, the Coach’s Poll, and computer rankings. The Harris Interactive poll is a committee of 115 panelists, representing all different facets of experience with college football. The committee is randomly chosen from a list of 300 people that are supplied by the Athletic Directors from the 10 major football conferences (and Notre Dame). The number representing each team in the Harris Interactive poll is designated by taking the total number of votes a team earns for its ranking (a vote as no.1 earns a team 25 points, and a vote as no.25 earns 1 point), and then dividing that number by the maximum total of votes (Which is 2,875 in this case)

The second aspect of the poll, the Coach’s poll, works in the same exact manner, except there are only 59 votes total.

The computer poll is based off of the rankings of 6 members. In this poll, the highest and lowest ranks are dropped to eliminate outliers, and then the team’s total points is divided by 100 to get a percentage.

Each individual poll accounts for 1/3 of the BCS average.

The BCS is not most likely not going to be spared any controversy or criticism this year. Even though the BCS system is going to be replaced with a playoff in the 2014 season, a few teams have set themselves up poorly for a national championship run. Thus far, it looks as if Ohio State and Louisville are both going to be undefeated at the end of the season. However, the strength of schedule of these two teams leaves many unanswered questions toward their true abilities, and thus both teams will most likely find themselves on the outside of the BCS championship game looking in, even if they go undefeated.

While it will be nice to not hear rampant complaints against the BCS next year, the replacing system is a selection panel of “experts”. People can clamor for an improved system all they want, but a human panel is not likely to be much better. It’s not as if the selection committee for the NCAA basketball tournament is spared any judgement or criticism for their actions…

  • Clemson Player Ejected after Punch [VIDEO]

A player for the Clemson Tigers was ejected from the game last night after delivering a nasty uppercut to an N.C. State player following a play. The #3 ranked Tigers’ 26-14 win in Raleigh, North Carolina was marred with a couple of controversial calls, but the officials definitely got the ejection right. The punch came with just 90 seconds on the clock and a 12-point lead on the scoreboard, but that apparently wasn’t enough for offensive lineman Isaiah Battle.

    (image)

Head coach Dabo Swinney was not too happy with Battle’s decision to switch to throw a swing and gave his lineman an earful after he pulled him to the sideline. After the Battle delivered the punch, a yellow flag was throw and the Clemson player was ejected and forced to leave the field.

There’s no word yet on what further punishment Battle can expect to receive for his dirty play. The Clemson football player will likely have to miss at least a couple of quarters in the Tigers’ upcoming game against Wake Forest.

In an interview after the game last night, Swinney called the personal foul “poor” and said that type of behavior “isn’t Clemson.” While Swinney is correct that we don’t usually see punches thrown on the field from Clemson players, an on-the-field brawl between Clemson and South Carolina in 2004 showed some nasty hits that were far worse.

How much long do you think the ejected Clemson player should be suspended for his antics? Respond below.

Swinney said after the game that his Tigers were “fortunate” in their win against N.C. State and that he was glad they hung in and “found a way to win.” The game was very close during the third quarter, with the Tigers leading the Wolfpack 13-7. The Wolfpack almost pulled ahead in what appeared to be an 83-yard touchdown run. With the PAT, the score would have been 14-13, N.C. State, but the touchdown run was called back after a referee said the player stepped out of bounds.

Instead of having a lead, N.C. State fumbled the ball away and Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd threw a touchdown pass to push Clemson ahead to 20-7. Heisman contender Boyd was 24-37 on completions last night, with 244 passing yards and three touchdowns.
