  • Christmas Cards: Why the Kardashians Aren’t Sending One This Year

Kim Kardashian and her family are so busy posing for pictures of greased-up buttocks and nipples to remember that Christmas is coming.

“I think what we’re going to do this year is — we’re a little confused this year because we ran out of time,” Kim told Glamour U.K.

Over the years, the reality TV family has sent out over-the-top Christmas cards, but that isn’t happening this year.

“I think this is the first year that we’re not doing our card,” Kim said, “but what we’re going to do is, at our Christmas party we have this amazing photo booth so we’re going to do like a compilation and do a New Year’s card.”

In the past, their Christmas card has been an elaborate photo of the ever-growing Kardashian-Jenner family including Bruce Jenner, the Kardashian women, and Lamar Odom.

So, the absence of a man on the arm of both Kris and Khloe has nothing to do with it? Nor the scandal it would raise if their currently-rumored men were there? Or, worse, no there? Or Bruce Jenner’s progeny in the picture, but not Bruce himself?

The possibility of a Christmas photo looks more and more like planning for a political summit meeting every year.

But Kim reassures everyone that, despite the lack of tradition, they will still do something fun. “We’re all going to get together at the beginning of the party and make sure that we all get photos together and do this whole thing,” she said. “So that’s kind of what we came up with, but we’re kind of sad, we just couldn’t get it together. And where is everyone? Y’know, this one doesn’t want to be in it, this one does want to be in it, so who knows …”

In the interview, Kim also spoke about her first Christmas as a “Kardashian-West.”

“I don’t know [what to get Kanye],” she said. “It’s the hardest thing ever because he spends all year doing so many amazing things for so many people, and he’s so good to me, so Christmas and birthdays are the times that I wanna go out and do something really really really nice. I, I don’t know. And if I say it here, what I’m thinking, he’ll hear about it.”

Good news is that if the family picture falls through, they can always use a version of Kim’s Paper Magazine shoot. Happy Birthday, Jesus!

  • Christmas Cards: Celebrities Send The Strangest

If you haven’t sent out your Christmas cards yet, don’t worry there is still time. If you are wondering if anyone even sends them anymore, the answer is yes, they do.

Although many people prefer to stay in contact via instant messengers, email and social networks, many still remember to send out Christmas cards to family members and friends, even celebrities. Here are a few of 2013’s most bizarre celebrity Christmas cards.

    Miley Cyrus
If you have been following Miley at all this year, then you won’t be surprised to see that her Christmas card looks as crazy as she acts. As if Miley hasn’t shown enough skin the last few months, she thought she would end the year right and flash the camera. She did manage to Photoshop some hearts that say “Merry Christmas” over her breasts.

    The Kardashians
Every year the Kardashian/Jenner family dresses to the max and poses for a family Christmas card photo. While these photos usually appear sophisticated, this year’s card is a little out there. The family members are scattered across a confusing scene and striking odd photos. While not all of the family members were included on the card, it still turned out stunning, in spite of the chaos.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi
You might expect a silly Christmas card from Ellen, but she really went out of the way to make a crazy one this year, along with wife Portia de Rossi. The couple chose a pose inspired by Kanye West’s music video “Bound 2.” Portia posed as a topless Kim Kardashian and Ellen posed as Kanye.

    Joe Jonas
A lot of people add their pets to their Christmas card photos and Joe Jonas is no different. He posed for his Christmas card photo wearing an ugly sweater and glasses and holding a cat that was wearing a Santa hat. The cat’s face was also added to the top corner of the photo.

  • Christmas Cards Are Just as Popular as Ever

In the booming age of technology, it’s nice to see that one holiday tradition remains just as strong as ever, sending Christmas cards to friends and family. What’s even more unbelievable is that we still predominately send those cards in the regular, plain old mail.

The first known Christmas card was sent in the middle of the 19th century in England. It’s hard to believe in this day and age that they remain so popular. Pam Danziger, president of Unity Marketing, is the lead researcher in all things greeting cards. She claims that two-thirds of the people surveyed sent holiday greeting cards in 2012. Those results are about the same as they were four years ago.

In fact, yesterday, December 16th was the busiest day of the year for the USPS. The company estimates that about 600 million cards and packages raced through post offices across America.

And, you know who else sends Christmas cards? Celebrities. Here’s one from Mr. Playboy himself, Hugh Hefner, his lovely wife Crystal Harris and their dog Charlie. You may have not received the card in the mail, but you can check out it on Hef’s Twitter feed. Note the matching pjs.

Wanna see more celebrity Christmas cards? How about ones from Miley Cyrus, Tom Hanks, Ellen Degeneres and Kelly Clarkson? Some are heartwarming, some are hilarious. Click on this link to check them out.

  • Rare Christmas Card Sells for $6,800

An 1843 Christmas card reading “A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to You” sold for roughly $6,800 on Saturday at auction. An anonymous bidder paid £4,200 for the greeting card, equal to $6,846, at British auction house Henry Aldridge & Son. The black-and-white stationary is of a set of the world’s first Christmas cards, and depicts a Victorian-era family eating and drinking.

  • Christmas Cards, Holiday Mail for Heroes

Christmas Cards, Holiday Mail for Heroes

Some may be wondering whether mailing Christmas cards is even worth it this year. Isn’t that the purpose of email and electronic Christmas cards, after all?

However, for students at Spring Hill Elementary School, there is no doubt about the importance of actually mailing a physical Christmas card, especially to members of the military. The Tennessee students are participating in the Holiday Mail for Heroes project.

The campaign’s mantra is “Give Something That Means Something” during this holiday to soldiers as well as their family members. Many of the soldiers will be out-of-the-country this season and unable to celebrate with family. According to ABC 6 News based out of Knoxville, Tennessee, the students are involved in this initiative in order to provide holiday cheer.

The students are not alone in wanting to spread cheer this holiday. Members of communities throughout the country are forgoing expectations to send electronic greetings and opting to send “snail mail” in the process so that soldiers feel appreciated.

Anyone interested in contributing to the Holiday Mail for Heroes project should send letters by December 6 to the following address:
