  • Ben Affleck Gets Advice from “Batman” Predecessor Christian Bale

Ben Affleck Gets Advice from “Batman” Predecessor Christian Bale

Ben Affleck got some sage advice from an actor who played the role before him. Christian Bale shared some of his wisdom with the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star recently.

It was while walking the red carpet at the New York City premiere of the film that Ben Affleck shared the story.

“I ran into him at a costume shop when we were both buying costumes for our kids and we talked,” Affleck said of Christian Bale.

So what was the advice proffered to Ben Affleck from his “Batman” predecessor?

“Make sure they put a zipper in the suit!” Affleck said at Sunday’s premiere.

Christian Bale recently admitted that even though he gave up playing Batman in 2012, he felt twinges of jealousy when learning Ben Affleck was taking over the role.

“I’ve got to admit initially, even though I felt that it was the right time to stop, there was always a bit of me going, ‘Oh go on…Let’s do another,’” Bale told Empire magazine. “So when I heard there was someone else doing it, there was a moment where I just stopped and stared into nothing for half an hour.”

“But I’m 40,” he added. “The fact that I’m jealous of someone else playing Batman…I think I should have gotten over it by now.”

If he isn’t, there’s not much he can do about it now. Ben Affleck will soon appear in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice when it opens in theaters nationwide on Friday.

  • Sylvester Stallone: Frontrunner for Best Supporting Actor for “Creed,” Will He Finally Win?

Sylvester Stallone is a frontrunner in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role in Creed at tonight’s Oscars. Do you expect the Rocky star will finally score a big win?

After winning a Golden Globe for his role as the “Italian Stallion” in Creed, he joked that Rocky Balboa is his imaginary friend.

“I want to thank my imaginary friend Rocky Balboa for being the best friend I ever had,” Sylvester Stallone said.

If Stallone wins at the Oscars, it will be quite a comeback story. He’s got some pretty stiff competition, however. In order to go home with the gold, he’ll have to beat out some Hollywood A-listers, including Mark Ruffalo, Christian Bale, and Tom Hardy.

    Can he do it?

In addition to the Rocky films, Sylvester Stallone is best known for his Rambo franchise. He also tried his hand at comedy in Stop! Or My Mom Will Shoot.

ABC News calls Sylvester Stallone’s role in Creed, “maybe the actor’s finest, most complicated work yet.”

    But is it enough?

Will you be tuning in to the Oscars–the 88th Academy Awards–on Sunday evening? The show airs on the ABC network, with Live from the Red Carpet airing at 7:00 p.m. ET, and the awards show beginning at 8:30. Chris Rock is hosting.

Will 2016 be the year Sylvester Stallone takes home an Oscar?

Fans will have to tune in to see.

  • Christian Bale Bails on Enzo Ferrari Film, Cites Not Enough Time for Safe Weight Gain

Christian Bale has bailed on the film Enzo Ferrari. The biopic of the auto magnate required a sizable weight gain, and Bale didn’t believe he had time to gain the weight safely before production was set to begin.

This certainly wouldn’t have been the first time Christian Bale was required to gain or lose a significant amount of weight for a film role.

Christian Bale gained 43 pounds for his role in American Hustle. On the opposite end of the spectrum, he lost 62 pounds for his role in The Machinist, subsisting on black coffee, an apple, and one can of tuna fish per day.

“It is because he made radical transformations in the past for roles such as The Machinist and American Hustle and began the weight gain process for Ferrari he felt necessary, but couldn’t safely be ready in time for Spring, 2016,” a source tells E! News of the reason Bale dropped out of this film.

Enzo Ferrari is set to begin filming in the spring. It is based on the biography written by Brock Yates that follows the automaker throughout his 90 years, covering both his passion and his life story.

It’s certainly easy to understand why Christian Bale, who is 41, might decide that another substantial weight gain wasn’t conducive to good health.

It will be interesting to learn who replaces Christian Bale in the upcoming film.

  • Amy Adams Cut from ‘Today Show’ for Not Talking Sony

Amy Adams spent the past several days in New York City, hosting SNL this weekend and promoting her upcoming film Big Eyes. She was supposed to appear on the Today Show, too, but when she refused to discuss the recent Sony hack during her interview she was cut from the show.

One of the emails revealed during the hacking scandal stated that Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence made less money than their male costars, Bradley Cooper and Christian Bale. It seems when Adams refused to discuss it, she was out.

“As a news program, the Today show doesn’t allow guests to put restrictions on interviews. In this case, after hours of discussion we felt uncomfortable with the demands being made, and we determined the best course of action for all parties involved was to cancel the interview,” a spokesperson for the show told the Hollywood Reporter.

Amy Adams was wholeheartedly supported by the Weinstein Company–the producers of Big Eyes.

“We firmly stand behind Amy Adams. We’ve been lucky enough to have had her talents grace several of our films. We are certain her fellow actors and directors would all agree, she is nothing but the consummate professional both on and off set. Amy decided to speak up for herself and express her disappointment that Today would feel the need to ask her a question she did not feel comfortable, and rather than respect her opinion or continue the discussion, the reaction was to pull her appearance from the show,” they said in a statement released on Tuesday.

Do you feel the Today Show was right or wrong in cutting Amy Adams from their show this week? Surely while promoting Big Eyes there was plenty she could have discussed besides the Sony email hacking.

  • Michael Keaton Has No Qualms About Ben Affleck Taking on the Role of Batman — ‘I’m Batman. I’m Very Secure In That’

Michael Keaton has no worries about Ben Affleck taking on the role of Batman in Zack Snyder’s upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice because, as he sees it, he is Batman.

There have been a few stars to channel their best Caped Crusader on the big screen — Christian Bale, George Clooney, Val Kilmer — but Keaton feels that his iconic portrayal 25 years ago set the standard for all future films and his legacy will live on.

Keaton was asked by the Shortlist if he was envious of Affleck donning the cape this time.

“No. Do you know why? Because I’m Batman. I’m very secure in that,” said the actor.

    BAM! POW! ZONK!!

The 63-year-old The Birdman actor played Bruce Wayne in two of four Tim Burton-directed movies, Batman in 1989 and Batman Returns in 1992, and said Burton started a lasting legacy with his revival of the superhero saga.

“Tim changed, or started, everything,” said Keaton. “And I’m proud of the choice I made, in terms of how to play Batman. It’s probably easier now because Tim paved the way, and if I did anything to pave the way, I’m proud of that, too.”

The Beetlejuice star said times have changed since he, Burton and Jack Nicholson, who played the Joker, first brought Batman to life on the big screen.

“You can step into it more easily now, is my guess. Technically, [superhero movies] do everything for you. They create a world where all you’ve basically got to do is show up, not f–k it up too much, and you’ll come off okay.”

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will be the eighth film in the Batman franchise that started with Keaton. George Clooney took over for Keaton in Batman Forever in 2005, and Val Kilmer starred in the final Batman film directed by Tim Burton, Batman & Robin, in 1997.

With Christian Nolan as director, Christian Bale played Bruce Wayne in 2005’s Batman Begins, 2008’s The Dark Knight, and 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises.

  • Natalie Portman Film ‘Knight of Cups’ Directed by Terrance Malick to Debut at Berlin Film Festival, Trailer Released

Natalie Portman‘s latest film, Knight of Cups, will have its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival in February.

According to CBS News, the Terrence Malick-directed film and a new film by British director Peter Greenaway are among several films chosen to screen at the prestigious festival.

Along with Portman, Christian Bale and Academy Award-winner Cate Blanchett also star in Knight of Cups.

The mysterious film’s synopsis reads: “Once there was a young prince whose father, the king of the East, sent him down into Egypt to find a pearl. But when the prince arrived, the people poured him a cup. Drinking it, he forgot he was the son of a king, forgot about the pearl and fell into a deep sleep. Rick’s father used to read this story to him as a boy. The road to the East stretches out before him. Will he set forth?”

In 1999, Malick won the top prize, the Golden Bear, at the festival for his highly acclaimed film, The Thin Red Line.

Greenaway, who is know for The Cook, The Thief, His Wife & Her Lover and Prospero’s Books, will also premiere his new movie, Eisenstein in Guanajuato, at the festival. The film documents Russian director Sergei Eisenstein and his odyssey in Mexico making Que Viva Mexico.

Other entries announced on Monday include As We Were Dreaming from German director Andreas Dresen, who has won the festival twice before. British director Andrew Haigh will show 45 Years, starring Charlotte Rampling and Tom Courtney, as will Alexei German with his Under Electric Clouds. Jayro Bustamante of Guatemala will have his directorial debut with Ixcanul Volcano shown at the festival.

Disney’s Cinderella, directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Cate Blanchett, Helena Bonham Carter, Richard Madden and Lily James, will have its international premiere at the festival, but will not compete.

The 65th Berlinale — scheduled for Feb. 5-15 — is significant because it’s the year’s first major European film festival and sets the tone for subsequent festivals.

Director Darren Aronofsky, who directed Noah, will head the jury.

  • Jennifer Lawrence, Amy Adams Paid Less Than Male Counterparts in ‘American Hustle,’ Leaked Sony E-mails Reveal

Compared to their male counterparts, Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Adams sure got the short end of the stick when it comes to getting paid for American Hustle.

The Sony e-mail leaks continue to reveal new behind-the-scenes goings-on in Hollywood, and the fallout is not pretty.

The latest slew of e-mails — presumed to have been leaked out of North Korea in retaliation for the less-than-flattering portrayal of North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un in The Interview, starring Seth Rogen and James Franco — reveal that Adams and the Hunger Games actress were paid considerably less than their male co-stars on American Hustle.

According to Page Six, “the e-mails detail the ‘points’ — or back-end payments — that each of the actors in American Hustle would be receiving, and Lawrence and fellow female star Amy Adams were arguably getting hustled.”

The Daily Beast revealed Friday that Lawrence and Adams received seven percent, while director David O. Russell and male co-stars Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale and Jeremy Renner received nine percent.

Andrew Gumpert, president of business affairs for Sony’s Columbia Pictures, said in a Dec. 5, 2013 e-mail that he got a “rush call” complaining that the men were getting more than the female stars.

The email says: “Got a Steve Warren/Gretchen rush call that it’s unfair the male actors get 9 percent in the pool and Jennifer is only at 7pts (percentage points).

“You may recall Jennifer was at 5 (Amy was and is at 7) and WE anted in 2 extra points for Jennifer to get her up to 7. If anyone needs to top Jennifer up its Megan (Ellison from Annapurna Pictures, which co-financed American Hustle).

“BUT I think Amy and Jennifer are tied so upping JL, ups AA.”

This is just the latest in several stories coming out of Hollywood about ticked-off celebrities, who are hearing of details they may have never wanted to know about how they are perceived, talked about and treated by executives in the film industry. And it’s likely not the last.

You have to have been living under a rock to have not heard about the exchange between Sony Pictures Co-Chairman Amy Pascal and Brian Helgeland, the screenwriter for Angelina Jolie’s project, Cleopatra, in which Pascal suggests Helgeland dump Jolie in favor of Lawrence, calling the Unbroken actress a “minimally talented spoiled brat.”

  • Ridley Scott Filmed Slammed for ‘Racist’ Casting; Rupert Murdoch Tweets Odd Defense

Ridley Scott’s latest film, Exodus: Gods and Kings, is being attacked for having an all-white cast. Some believe that this is way out of bounds since the film is largely set in Egypt.

Exodus, which stars Christian Bale as Moses, was directed by Ridley Scott and distributed by 20th Century Fox. Ridley Scott told Variety that his cast is white for a simple reason: money.

“I can’t mount a film of this budget, where I have to rely on tax rebates in Spain, and say that my lead actor is Mohammad so-and-so from such-and-such,” Scott explained. “I’m just not going to get it financed. So the question doesn’t even come up.”

As Variety points out about the very white casting, “the same could be said of The Passion of the Christ, Noah, The Ten Commandments and virtually any other big-budget Bible movies.”

But Rupert Murdoch, who owns 20th Century Fox, was not going to let this one go by quietly. He had been seeing comments on Twitter about the all-white cast.

So Murdoch took to Twitter to defend his investment.

As expected, his odd defense did not sit well.

    So Murdoch hit back again.

But his detractors got the last laugh.

  • Christian Bale is Out; Michael Fassbender is In: Who Will Be Steve Jobs?

Aaron Sorkin, the man behind The West Wing and Newsroom, has written a new movie about Steve Jobs. A previous movie about Jobs starring Ashton Kutcher as the late Apple genius did not go over so well. Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak did not warm to it, and even said it was mostly “fiction,” not representing the real people and events surrounding Steve Jobs very well.

Danny Boyle, who directed Slumdog Millionaire, is on the project. Now all they need is a Steve Jobs. But that has been a bit of a problem.

First they wanted Leonardo DiCaprio, but Leo said he would be too busy with filming The Revenant, which also stars Tom Hardy and Domnhall Gleeson, and then will take a break for a while.

Then they grabbed Christian Bale. Bale recently did Exodus with Ridley Scott. But Bale backed out, telling the filmmakers that he didn’t think he was right for the part. Considering that Bale called Moses, the man he plays in Exodus, a “schizophrenic… barbaric individual,” one wonders what he felt did not fit him about Steve Jobs for him to turn that down.

Somewhere in the middle of all this, they grabbed Seth Rogen to play Steve Wozniak. With Rogen’s round face and beard, he seems perfect. Let’s hope he doesn’t drop out of this or they’ll end up grabbing Jonah Hill to replace him.

And now the word on the street is that Michael Fassbender is the latest name to surface for playing Steve Jobs. Fassbender certainly has the build. He’s got the acting chops. Both he and Bale can look the part, which makes one wonder what they were thinking with tossing DiCaprio’s name out there. Not many people knew what Frank Abagnale or Jordan Belfort looked like. We all know what Steve Jobs looks like.

We’ll see who’s in the seats when the music stops. They’d better pin it down soon. Danny Boyle is scheduled to meet the cast this week and start filming this winter.

  • Christian Bale Reportedly NOT Playing Steve Jobs (Again)

Christian Bale will not be playing Steve Jobs in an upcoming biopic from Danny Boyle and Aaron Sorkin, according to a new report from The Hollywood Reporter.

Sorkin, who based the screenplay on Walter Isaac Walter Isaacson’s 2011 biography, recently confirmed to Bloomberg that Bale would be taking on the role, saying he “couldn’t be more excited about him,” and that he’s a “phenomenal actor.”

But that was then and this is now. THR reports:

Sources say Bale, after much deliberation and conflicting feelings, came to the conclusion he was not right for the part and decided to withdraw.

Bale’s name has been mentioned with this film for quite some time as has Leonardo DiCaprio’s. Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Bradley Cooper have also been brought up at one time or another. Recent reports have Seth Rogen as a possibility for Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

Either way, you can’t have a Steve Jobs movie without a Steve Jobs, so I guess you’ll be waiting a bit more on this one. In the meantime, feel free to head over to Netflix and watch Ashton Kutcher pretend to be Jobs. After that, you can decide for yourself if you want to see this story told again on screen.

Or you could, you know, just read the book.

  • Christian Bale Says Moses Was “Schizophrenic” and “Barbaric”

Christian Bale was Batman. Even though Batman is a hero, everyone knows he has some serious issues. The Dark Knight series did not dodge those, but played them for all they were worth.

Now Christian Bale is Moses in the Ridley Scott-produced film Exodus: Gods and Kings. And according to Christianity Today, Bale sees some really troubling stuff in that “character” as well.

“I think the man was likely schizophrenic and was one of the most barbaric individuals that I ever read about in my life,” Bale said about Moses.

That’s some serious analysis from a man who famously played a psychopathic killer. But maybe he was just talking about non-fiction characters.

Bale said that he did some serious research on Moses before doing Exodus. He called his religious background and knowledge prior to landing the part “below Sunday school.” He read biographical books, but also the Torah and the Koran.

Another word Bale uses to describe Moses is “mercurial.”

“He was a very troubled, tumultuous man and mercurial,” Bale said after a trailer screening for Exodus. “But the biggest surprise was the nature of God. He was equally very mercurial”

“Mercurial” can be defined as: subject to sudden or unpredictable changes of mood or mind.

Some Christians have been excited at the crop of films from big studios, with big celebrity names attached, that are Bible-based or at least have their stories rooted in Bible characters. The recent Russell Crowe film Noah disappointed some, who felt that it did not treat the Biblical topic with enough reverence.

The Nicolas Cage-led Left Behind film has one character exclaiming, “The God my mother talked about would never do something like this!”

But the big moviemakers aren’t taking all this that seriously. When Ridley Scott was asked about how his new Exodus might parallel recent Middle East tensions he said, “People can do that if they want to be really negative or just sit down and enjoy the f***ing movie. It’s a movie!”

  • Seth Rogen Considered to Play Steve Wozniak Opposite Christian Bale’s Steve Jobs

The Wrap is reporting that Seth Rogen is being considered for the role of Steve Wozniak in the Steve Jobs biopic also rumored to star Christian Bale.

Bale’s involvement with the upcoming film has been much ballyhooed already. He ended up at the front of the line when Leonardo DiCaprio passed on the role.

There are high hopes for the new film, considering that another Steve Jobs-centered film, Jobs starring Ashton Kutcher, did not quite live up to expectations. It was even mildly panned by the man Rogen is in talks to play in the new one, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

“I had such high hopes for this movie and, oh, it was so hard to say that it let me down a bit and it fell a bit flat,” Wozniak told ABC News of the Kutcher-fronted Jobs.

“Ashton played Steve Jobs’ mannerisms so well but he didn’t bring out the thinking that makes us love Steve [and] the ideas that drove Apple forward,” Wozniak said.

Wozniak elaborated a bit more in a review he posted to Gizmodo.

“I thought the acting throughout was good. I was attentive and entertained but not greatly enough to recommend the movie.

“I suspect a lot of what was wrong with the film came from Ashton’s own image of Jobs… I’m grateful to Steve for his excellence in the i-era, and his contribution to my own life of enjoying great products, but this movie portrays him having had those skills in earlier times.

It wasn’t just Kutcher’s portrayal of Jobs that landed wrong with Wozniak, but other characterizations as well.

“I felt bad for many people I know well who were portrayed wrongly in their interactions with Jobs and the company.”

Perhaps the most damning statement of all that Wozniak made is something he actually attributed to someone else, but hints that the people represented in the Jobs film felt they were not fairly portrayed at all. That it was less a biopic and more a fictionalization.

“One friend who is in the movie said he didn’t want to watch fiction so he wasn’t interested in seeing it.”

  • Christian Bale Didn’t Have To Audition For Steve Jobs Role

Christian Bale has a long and impressive film resume–which holds everything from The Dark Knight to American Psycho–and, at this point, can probably afford to be picky about the projects he takes on. It also means that when directors are looking for a specific kind of actor, Bale will get the job without auditioning. That’s exactly what happened when it came time to cast a new biopic about Steve Jobs.

“What we needed was the best actor. He really is a phenomenal actor. He didn’t have to audition. He’s going to crush it,” screenwriter Aaron Sorkin said.

The role has already been inhabited by a few actors, including Ashton Kutcher, but Sorkin called it “an extremely difficult part” before praising Bale’s talents.

Before Bale can tackle the intimidating role, however, he’ll appear in Ridley Scott’s Exodus: Gods And Kings. The actor has drawn criticism recently for his take on Moses, calling him “barbaric”.

“I think the man was likely schizophrenic and was one of the most barbaric individuals that I ever read about in my life. He’s a very troubled and tumultuous man who fought greatly against God, against his calling,” he said.

  • Christian Bale Will Play Steve Jobs, Sorkin Says He’ll ‘Crush It’

Christian Bale will be your next film Steve Jobs.

Aaron Sorkin, screenwriter of the upcoming biopic based on Walter Isaacson’s 2011 biography Steve Jobs, confirmed to Bloomberg that the Dark Knight actor will be taking on the role of the late Apple co-founder.

“I couldn’t be more excited about him,” said Sorkin. “He really is a phenomenal actor.”

Sorkin also said that Bale didn’t really have to audition for the role, but there was a meeting.

“The role is an extremely difficult role. He has more words to say in this movie than most people have in three movies combined. There isn’t a scene – or frame – that he’s not in, and there’s a tremendous amount of language.

“It’s an extremely difficult part and he’s gonna crush it.”

Bale’s name was rumored months ago, and then it faded as the Leonardo DiCaprio rumor train took off. Just last week, Bale was once again thrown back into the rumor mix, alongside names like Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, and Bradley Cooper.

As far as directing goes, that job falls on Danny Boyle after David Fincher dropped out of contention.

Production on the still-untitled film will kick of in the next couple of months. Sorkin actually finished the script back in January.

Do you think Bale is going to ‘crush it’? I bet Bale thinks he’s going to crush it.

  • Christian Bale Is the Newest Rumored Steve Jobs, Again

In regard to the upcoming Steve Jobs biopic (the one based on the Walter Isaacson book, not the Ashton Kutcher one), remember when it was Bale or bust? Then we took a ride on the Leo DiCaprio rumor train?

Ok, now it’s back to Bale.

According to sources quoted in The Hollywood Reporter, Sony is “beginning negotiations” with Bale. As you may recall, Bale has already been rumored for the role – but that was when David Fincher was attached to the project. Fincher reportedly gave the studio the “I want Bale” ultimatum, but Fincher’s time with the project fell through thanks to his “aggressive demands for compensation and control”.

Or at least the rumor goes.

But now the Danny Boyle has grabbed the reigns and Leonardo DiCaprio has bowed out, we could possibly see Christian Bale as Steve Jobs after all.

Apparently Bale has a bit of extra room on his schedule now that negotiations for another film have stalled. Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Bradley Cooper are other top names that have popped up.

As I’ve said before – bring on the Bale. It might be the only way to keep people giving a damn about this movie, which seems like it’s been in limbo for ages. He’s the Steve Jobs Cupertino deserves, and the one it needs right now.

  • Christian Bale Wanted For Steve Jobs Film

Christian Bale Wanted For Steve Jobs Film

Christian Bale has proven over the years that he is completely devoted to his craft; as an actor willing to lose a substantial amount of weight in order to give audiences maximum impact in the film “The Machinist” and turn himself into an overweight, balding con artist for “American Hustle”, his talent is sought out by directors who want his enthusiasm and devotion. That may be why, when Aaron Sorkin finished his untitled biopic about Steve Jobs, director David Fincher decided he couldn’t do it without Bale.

Although Bale hasn’t responded to the offer yet, Fincher says he can’t think of another actor he’d want for the role. The film will focus largely on the launching of Mac, NeXT, and the iPod, and the script is based on Walter Isaacson’s biography, which included interviews with Jobs as well as friends and family.

Bale has reportedly taken a break between jobs after finishing up Ridley Scott’s “Exodus”, in which he plays Moses. The Wrap is predicting a start date in early 2015 so that all parties involved can take this fall for promoting their current projects.

Steve Jobs has been the subject of quite a bit of fascination in recent years, and his life has already spawned a biopic starring Ashton Kutcher that grossed just $35 million. Sorkin and Fincher, who teamed up for “The Social Network”, may have a different perspective, however, and there is active interest in a new movie.

  • David Fincher Reportedly Wants Christian Bale (and Only Christian Bale) to Play Steve Jobs

In a turn of unbaleievable news coming out of the long-awaited Aaron Sorkin-penned Steve Jobs biopic saga, it appears that David Fincher is holding out for Christian Bale for his lead.

According to The Wrap, who quotes an individual familiar with the project (as opposed to unfamiliar), David Fincher says he will only direct the upcoming film if Christian Bale is cast as Steve Jobs.

Let’s back up for a sec.

About the time that we learned that Ashton Kutcher would be portraying the late Apple co-founder in a biopic, we learned that another Jobs biopic was in the works–one based on the best-selling biography by Walter Isaacson. Rumor had it that The Social Network screenwriter Aaron Sorkin would pen the script. This all happened back in 2011, but Sony Pictures didn’t confirm Aaron Sorkin as the official screenwriter until later, in 2012.

Sorkin famously stated that whoever wound up playing Steve Jobs would need to be intelligent.

In January, Sorkin finally turned in his script for the movie.

Then, last month, reports emerged that David Fincher was in talks to direct the film. Of course, The Social Network came out of the pairing of Fincher and Sorkin.

Now, if this report is accurate, Fincher wants Bale–and only Bale.

Let’s see, what else do we know about this film? Sorkin once hinted that the film would be divided up into three 30-minute scenes, each taking place backstage before some big Apple product launch. We assume flashbacks would be involved. If this were the case, it would have a very Social Network-y feel. Sorkin wrote Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg pretty well, so I trust he could do the same to Steve Jobs. Both are relatively complex characters. Bale could work–I see the resemblance. Apparently, Bale hasn’t even been approached and the film isn’t going to start production until early next year–so you’ll have to wait some time to possibly see Batman play The Riddler.

I say bring on the Bale. He’s the Steve Jobs Gotham deserves, and the one it needs right now.

  • Christian Bale is Going to Be a Daddy Again

American Hustle star Christian Bale may have missed out on an Academy Award this year, but he has something even better to look forward to. It has been reported that Bale is expecting his second child with wife Sandra “Sibi” Blazic, a former model and and personal assistant to Winona Ryder.

The couple has been married since 2000 but keep their relationship and family life very private. They already have one child together, 9-year old Emmeline.

In 2009, Bale told The Insider, “It’s all about my girls, my wife and my daughter. I carry a picture of them with me all the time.”

He also joked, “She dresses up as Darth Vader, she dresses up as Yoda and I say, ‘That’s all I do. That’s it. I do exactly the same that you do with your friends.’”

The second pregnancy was unofficially revealed on the red carpet at this years Academy Awards when Blazic arrived on Bale’s arm wearing a form-fitting black dress that revealed her popping baby bump.

40-year old Bale says that he owes “everything” to his wife who has stuck by his side through his career. “She’s such a good, strong woman,” he said.

In true private couple style, 43-year old Blazic had previously hid her pregnancy from the public at the Oscar Nominees Luncheon and at the British Film Academy Awards earlier this year.

Bale first appeared on the acting scene at age 13 when he was cast in Steven Spielberg’s 1987 film, Empire of the Sun. Since then he has received critical acclaim for his roles in American Psycho and The Machinist and has appeared in other popular films like Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, The Fighter, and 3:10 to Yuma.

Bale and Blazic are on the Board of Trustees of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund and support Greenpeace and the World Wildlife Fund. They have lived in Los Angeles for more than ten years.

  • Amy Adams Bares it all in American Hustle

Amy Adams Bares it all in American Hustle

Here’s what most of us already know about David O. Russell’s new upcoming film American Hustle. Yes, Bradley Cooper not only has really curly hair, but he sets in rollers like my grandmother does before church every Sunday. Christan Bale sports a sweet comb over and has such a big beer gut that’s it hard to believe that this is the same guy that got down to 120 pounds in The Machinist and then bulked up to Superhero weight to play Batman.

We can also see that the film takes place in the 1970s and has a very stylized, almost Scorsesesque look to it. The general gist of the plot seems to be about con men and women, a dirty FBI agent and the mob. And finally, maybe you’ve heard? Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence do a little lip-locking.

    Have your attention now?

Amy Adams spoke with E! News about kissing her sexy female co-star and also about being asked at the last minute to strip down naked.

The 39 year old actress spoke candidly about the details of her romantic scene with Lawrence. “It’s funny because after the first take of that, I ended up with lipstick out to here [gestures all around her mouth]—she has very full lips—and also playing somebody who’s not puckering for a kiss, its really interesting how a kiss hits you when you’re not participating in it.” She went on to add. “Jennifer pulls it off wonderfully because you believe it again as part of the character. It doesn’t feel like this salacious, sexual kiss between two women. Its part of her struggle for control.”

As for getting nude, Adams says that was never part of the original plan. Perhaps because she’s worked with David O. Russell before (she received an Academy Award nomination for her performance in The Fighter), she felt comfortable enough with him at the helm to bare it all on the big screen. “David threw that at me last minute, too. He didn’t give me time to think about it at all. It was the night before, so I got a text or I might have woken up in the morning, saying, ‘I think your character might have been a stripper. I think we wanna shoot it.’ And its the first day of filming and its the end of the day, so I said, ‘Well, as long as you let me look at the scene, I’ll do it.’ And he did.”

American Hustle will hit theaters nationally on December 20th. It is already receiving tons of Oscar buzz. It currently has a 97% approval rating on rottentomatoes.com.

  • Jennifer Lawrence Red Hot in ‘American Hustle’

Jennifer Lawrence might star in Catching Fire, but she’s sizzling hot in American Hustle. With her director from The Silver Linings Playbook at the helm, might this be yet another Oscar contender for the young starlet?

The film is about corruption in the American 1970s, between the Mafia, the FBI and a whole slew of bad guys. It’s based on a real-life corruption scandal from that time period. In addition to Lawrence, American Hustle is replete with big name actors. Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Jeremy Renner and Amy Adams join her on the big screen.

Jennifer Lawrence plays the role of Rosalyn Rosenfeld, who is married to Christian Bale’s character, Irving Rosenfeld. She’s a real piece of work, wearing Halston couture, with sleazy plunging necklines. She’s ditzy and glamorous, while exuding a sense of cheap that was tantamount to the players in the 1970s corruption schemes.

1970s music is featured throughout the film, with songs like Elton John’s Goodbye Yellowbrick Road and How Can You Mend a Broken Heart by the Bee Gees. Each song included relates to what’s happening on screen.

Twitter followers are catching on about how sexy Jennifer Lawrence is in this film.

Will you be visiting theaters starting on December 18th to watch Jennifer Lawrence sizzle in American Hustle? She’ll likely burn the chill right out of any cold December day with what reviewers are calling her red hot performance. It sounds like after this film (and Lawrence) has worked the big screens around the country, that The Hunger Games will seem like child’s play where this talented young actress is concerned.

  • American Psycho Series Being Developed At FX

American Psycho wasn’t for everyone, but you can’t argue that it is a cult classic… but does it really need to be a television series?

It’s being reported that FX is developing a series that will act as the direct sequel to American Psycho. If you’re wondering about that Mila Kunis sequel, well like everyone else they’re acting as if it never happened. The series will supposedly focus on Christian Bale’s Patrick Bateman, with some minor changes to the setting of the story.

“The drama series fast forwards from the late 1980s, when the movie was set, to present day. It will feature serial killer Patrick Bateman, now in his mid-50’s but as outrageous and lethal as ever, taking on a protégé in a sadistic social experiment who will become every bit his equal — a next generation American Psycho.”

With series like Hannibal and Bates Motel doing well, it only makes sense for FX to scoop up American Psycho and try to take it to series.

Below you can view some of the more memorable scenes from the movie (viewer discretion is advised):
