  • Chloe Moretz Is Your New, Live-Action Little Mermaid

Chloe Moretz is heading under the sea.

Moretz, best known for he work in the Kick-Ass movies, Carrie and Hugo, will play the iconic Ariel in a live-action version of the classic animated tale The Little Mermaid.

“Been waiting a long time to tell you guys !! #TheLittleMermaid going to be a beautiful experience! Can’t wait to show everyone my Mermaid!” tweeted Moretz.

Variety reports that the Universal and Working Title picture is tapping Richard Curtis. He’s the writer behind Love, Actually and War Horse. Director Sofia Coppola was attached to the project at one point, but that fell through.

    From Variety:

Moretz had been the frontrunner for the role even while Coppola was still attached; some insiders point to Coppola’s unwillingness to go with a star like Moretz as her impetus for parting ways with the project. Following Coppola’s exit, the studio still wanted Moretz for the role but did not want to make it official until a writer was attached for a final draft.

Moretz seems pretty excited by the new role. She’s been retweeting stuff about it all weekend.

  • Chloe Moretz Admits She Doesn’t Know What’s Cool

Chloe Moretz is stealing hearts with her new film, If I Stay, in which she plays a teenager who literally has to choose between life and death.

The movie is targeted at teenagers and the like, basically any who love to cry. But, just because Chloe Moretz is 17, that doesn’t mean she knows all about what other teenagers are into right now.

When asked what was “on her radar” right now, Chloe Moretz responded,

“Honestly I am the worst at pop culture. I think I’m really abreast of pop culture and then it turns out I’m not. I meet 13-year-olds and they’re talking in a lingo I totally don’t understand.”

She admitted that she has “literally no idea” what is cool right now.

But, the young actress is doing something that many other 17-year-olds are doing. That would be thinking about college, but she’s not running off right after graduation!

Chloe Moretz said, “I think I’m going to take two years off to see what it’s like and then go to school for film editing and cinematography.”

“I’d probably say I’ve had my job since I was 5 years old, and I’ve been able to hone it and create a career,” she added of her qualifications for college.

Chloe Moretz continued, “I think colleges look for people like that, who have had a passion for a long time or have been able to make themselves incredibly diligent and grounded when most people can’t do that at a young age.”

That is true. It seems especially hard for young people in Hollywood to be grounded. Hopefully she keeps that part of her character as she continues to hone her skill and build what will obviously be an exceedingly successful career.

Good luck to Chloe Moretz as she travels further down the road!

  • Chloe Grace Moretz On Movie Piracy, Upcoming Films

Chloe Grace Moretz said that she would love to make a third Kick-Ass movie but doubts that it will happen thanks to video piracy.

Video piracy is a serious problem and many people download videos online without thinking twice about it or even feeling like it’s illegal.

“You know, I hope, I wish,” she said of the possibility. “That’d be fun. That’d be great. I doubt it, but I would love it.”

“The hard thing is if fans want a third movie, they’ve got to go buy the ticket to go see the movie,” Moretz said. “It was like the second most pirated movie of the year, so if you want a movie to be made into a second, a third, a fourth and a fifth, go buy a ticket. Don’t pirate it.”

Kick-Ass isn’t the only video that has been pirated and movies are now pirated just as often as music. There are numerous websites and apps that make it easy to download pirated movies, organize and watch them on any computer or device.

While a third Kick-Ass film is questionable, there’s no doubt that Moretz will have plenty of work in the future. She just finished working on the film If I Stay, which will hit theaters in August.

She will also start filming 5th Wave this fall.

Moretz is still in LA but clearly misses New York City. She often tweets about New York and how much she misses certain aspects of it. As long as she is still filming, she will have to get used to being away from NYC.

  • Chloe Moretz Gets Bloodied And Bullied

Chloe Moretz Gets Bloodied And Bullied

Chloe Moretz, the young actress who has made a name for herself in showbiz by portraying unconventional characters such as “Hit-Girl” in “Kick-Ass” and a lonely, brutal vampire in “Let Me In”, is now about to wow audiences with her portrayal of Carrie White.

The remake of Brian De Palma’s visionary adaptation of Stephen King’s book “Carrie” comes at a time when bullying is a huge and frightening epidemic. With the explosion of social media and just about every teen spending hours on sites like Facebook and Twitter–where they are constantly exposed to the cruelty of internet trolls and their own peers–bullying has made headlines over the past couple of years, leading to teen suicides and altercations. Now, director Kimberly Peirce says she wants to incorporate those things into the retelling, modernizing the story a bit and making it easier for young people to relate to.

Check out the teaser trailer below and see “Carrie” when it debuts in March.
