  • Sophia Bush: ‘Chicago PD’ Star Reunites With ‘One Tree Hill’ Cast Mates

Sophia Bush of Chicago PD fame reunited with her One Tree Hill cast mates on Saturday night in Montreal.

The gang had a great evening of dinner and drinks–as well as lots of conversation. Catching up was no doubt a blast.

In addition to Sophia Bush, the other One Tree Hill cast members in attendance were Bethany Joy Lenz, Daphne Zuniga, and Stephen Colletti.

It was via Instagram that some of the former cast mates shared photos of their mini-reunion.

Sophia Bush shared a shot of the cast mates and their dates.

    “peanuts (and one sleeping beauty) #longday #greatday #fam #likeitwasyesterday #pickuprightwhereweleaveoff #hitmewithyourbestshot #purplereign,” she captioned it.

Sophia Bush played the role of Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill. Bethany Joy Lenz played Haley James Scott. Daphne Zuniga was Victoria Davis, and Stephen Colletti played the role of Chase Adams.

Hilarie Burton, who played the role of Peyton Sawyer, was unable to join the gang, but FaceTimed the group on Sophia Bush’s phone.

This group has met regularly since the final episode of One Tree Hill aired in 2012.

Are you a fan of Sophia Bush in her role as Erin Lindsay on Chicago PD? Did you watch her on One Tree Hill as well?

  • Katherine Heigl: ‘State of Affairs’ Cancelled, NBC Axes Several More Shows

Katherine Heigl learned some disappointing news this week. Her TV drama State of Affairs was cancelled by NBC. The former Grey’s Anatomy actress hasn’t given up yet, however. She is hoping another network might pick the show up for a second season.

Sadly, Heigl wasn’t the only one to receive bad news. Several seemingly popular shows received the ax. She’s is in good company with actors like Josh Duhamel–whose show Battle Creek won’t be returning to CBS.

In addition to the Katherine Heigl drama, NBC cut some comedies from their lineup.

About A Boy, starring Minnie Driver, was cancelled–along with One Big Happy starring Elisha Cuthbert, and Marry Me , starring Casey Wilson and Ken Marino.

Katherine Heigl shared word of the State of Affairs cancellation, as well as her eternal optimism for a ‘new home’ via Twitter.

Are you a State of Affairs fan? Katherine Heigl stars as CIA analyst Charleston Tucker, and works directly with the first black female U.S. president–played by Alfre Woodard. Tucker presents the President’s Daily Briefing and decides–along with the president–how to handle serious international affairs.

NBC has assured fans that at least some of their favorites will return. The Blacklist, Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., Law & Order: SVU, and The Mysteries of Laura will all return for new seasons.

CBS is bringing back The Big Bang Theory, 2 Broke Girls, Big Brother, Scorpion, Madam Secretary, Mike & Molly, Mom, and NCIS: New Orleans.

What’s your take on some of these cancellations? Are you among State of Affairs fans who are hoping–along with Katherine Heigl–that the show will find a new home? After all, fans want to find out if Nick Vera is possibly alive.

  • Sophia Bush: ‘Chicago PD’ Star Calls Mariska Hargitay ‘Badass’

Sophia Bush: ‘Chicago PD’ Star Calls Mariska Hargitay ‘Badass’

Sophia Bush of Chicago PD fame has worked on screen with Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay in crossover episodes of their respective shows before, but it was during NBC Universal’s 2015 Winter TCA Tour last week that the two met up again.

NBC advertises both Sophia Bush and Mariska Hargitay’s shows–along with The Mysteries of Laura, starring Debra Messing–as ‘woman crush Wednesdays,’ and it’s easy to see why. Each of the three cop shows features a good-looking, really sharp woman at its helm.

The Chicago PD star paid the Law & Order: SVU star quite the compliment while they were together in L.A. last week, however. She referred to Mariska Hargitay (Olivia Benson on the show) as a ‘badass.’ She shared the comment as the caption of an Instagram post.

“#fbf working with my idol @therealmariskahargitay who is now my friend (whaaaat?!) for the first time on @NBCSVU,” Sophia captioned, adding, “She’s the epitome of a badass. An example. And a courageous heart. #ilovemyjob #gratitude #pinchme #badbitches.”

Sophia Bush is pretty ‘badass’ herself. In her role as Detective Erin Lindsay, she recently transferred from the Chicago Police Department to the FBI. However–and this is a spoiler alert–on Wednesday night’s episode she banged on her father figure, mentor, and former boss Hank Voight’s back door late and night, and asked for her job back.

Fans didn’t expect–or at least they didn’t hope–that Erin Lindsay would stay away from her old stomping grounds for long.

Are you a Chicago PD and/or a Law & Order: SVU fan? Which of these two female detectives–Sophia Bush or Mariska Hargitay–would you call the most ‘badass?’

  • Mariska Hargitay Does ‘Chicago Fire’ and ‘Chicago PD’

Mariska Hargitay was in Chicago this past week filming crossover episodes for Law & Order: SVU, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD. The crossover shows will be televised on November 11th and 12th.

Michael Brandt is co-creator of both Chicago Fire and Chicago PD. He had the following to say about the crossover episodes.

“It’ll be our seventh episode on all three shows,” said he says. “Something happens on Chicago Fire. The Chicago PD unit is brought in to investigate. That happens on Tuesday night on Fire. On Wednesday on SVU, (Sergeant Hank) Voight and intelligence go to New York and work with Benson (played by Mariska Hargitay) and everybody on SVU, which then leads them back to Chicago for the last hour on Wednesday night (on PD). Benson and SVU come to Chicago and she and Voight have some great scenes together (on Chicago PD).”

This is the second year in a row that these shows have done crossover episodes.

Mariska Hargitay recently joked about the return of her former Law & Order: SVU costar Chris Meloni. SVU fans have long hoped for a reunion of Elliot Stabler and Olivia Benson. Alas Chris Meloni said there’s no truth to such rumors–no doubt crushing the dreams of many of their fans.

Are you among those who had hoped for Christopher Meloni to return to Law & Order: SVU? Will you watch the three crossover episodes in November of SVU along with Chicago Fire and Chicago PD? If you saw last year’s shows, you’ll see that Mariska Hargitay blends perfectly with the cast of both of these TV shows.

  • Debra Messing: No Go in ‘Mysteries of Laura?’

Debra Messing: No Go in ‘Mysteries of Laura?’

Debra Messing is set to star in a new NBC series called The Mysteries of Laura, and the L.A. Times doesn’t seem to think she’s up to speed. A recent report reminds viewers of last year’s most significant NBC offering–The Blacklist, starring James Spader–and the bullseye the network hit with that show. They are comparing Messing and The Mysteries of Laura to ‘grazing the white part around the edge of the target.’

Fans last saw Debra Messing in Smash, and of course everyone loved her in Will & Grace. So what’s not to love about Laura Diamond in The Mysteries of Laura? It seems she’s simply not convincible as a homicide detective.

“It certainly doesn’t help that the show opens with her in hot pursuit of some gun-wielding thug as he races through a very crowded Battery Park. Wearing a raincoat that she will then cling to throughout the episode as if it had been bequeathed to her by Mr. Peter Falk, she mutters “humorous” asides like “why are all these people in the park? Don’t they have jobs?” before pulling a gun and aiming it at said thug, who grabs a hostage. Then she fires Right At Their Heads,” the L.A. Times reports.

It seems The Mysteries of Laura isn’t a sitcom, but Debra Messing is playing Laura Diamond as if it might be. The funny thing is, NBC is playing her character as though she is on par with Law & Order: SVU’s Mariska Hargitay and Chicago P.D.’s Sophia Bush. Have you seen that ad? Even with the little that viewers have seen thus far of The Mysteries of Laura thus far, the notion simply doesn’t gel.

Are you a Debra Messing fan? Will you be checking out The Mysteries of Laura when it premieres tonight–Wednesday, September 17th on NBC at 10:00 PM? It will be interesting to learn what Thursday’s take will be on the new show.

Hopefully NBC hasn’t banked on this to be this years The Black List.

  • Sopia Bush on Body Image and ‘Chicago P.D.’

Sophia Bush is just one of the sexy, smart stars of Chicago P.D. but she doesn’t believe she has the body type that defines sexy–and that’s just fine with her. In fact, her favorite charity is I Am That Girl. It aims to encourage girls to feel good about their bodies–whether they’re rail thin or not. She spoke about the charity this week on The TODAY Show.

“I’ve spent so much time talking to women about, ‘Hey, I may be on TV and I may be photographed for magazines, but I don’t think I’m perfect. I don’t wake up in the morning and look in the mirror and go, ‘Hey, I’m amazing!’ That’s not how it is,” Bush said. “I’m a women and it’s a struggle for all of us.”

“And it took me until this point in my life at 31 to say, ‘Hey, yeah I’m going to embrace my body and own it for me, not anyone else. And I’m curvy. I’m not some rail-thin, 6-foot-tall runway model who was just born that way. I was born like this. And that’s A-OK.’ And the conversations that have sort of come out of that, the conversations about feeling empowered in our skin rather than comparing ourselves to other women have been a really great byproduct actually of that whole shoot,” she added.

Now Chicago P.D. fans have another reason to love Sophia Bush.

It seems Chicago P.D. loves her, too.

This week Chicago P.D. has done a dual broadcast or crossover with Chicago Fire. It’s been trending wildly since the Chicago Fire portion aired on Tuesday night. Bush plays Detective Erin Lindsay on the NBC drama.

Of the crossover episodes, Sophia Bush had the following to say.

“[Chicago Fire producer Dick Wolf] said, ‘It’s going to be intense,’” the actress relates. “‘Imagine Oklahoma City. Imagine the Boston Marathon bombing. We have the ability to thank the people who are the ones who run toward [to help], not away.’ He really is so passionate about honoring first responders.”

Clearly Bush’s passion runs the gamut from being a high profile TV star to young girls who need to boost their self esteem. Kudos to her on both of her starring roles.

If you were looking for something or someone to brighten up your work-week, Sophia Bush has come to the rescue.

The 31-year-old actress is on the cover of the current issue of Maxim magazine, and she couldn’t look any better.

Sporting a beige and black ultra tight corset, with a sexy inviting look on her face, Bush is bound to drive her male fans crazy, and the cover may even raiser her profile a bit more, since it’s already gone extremely viral.

And although the former One Tree Hill star looks almost flawless on the cover, she says women shouldn’t strive for perfection, because being perfect isn’t realistic. Instead, women should feel empowered enough to show all sides of themselves, including sides that are extremely flawed.

“You want to create a scene where people are allowed to be their best self, but we’re so often taught our best is equal to perfect, that our best is only what is right,” said Bush in a previous statement. “And we’re at our best when we’re vulnerable, when we are open and open enough to say I’m afraid, I’m having a hard time, I screwed up or I did great at this. Whatever it is, we should look at ourselves as whole.”

From 2003 to 2012 Bush played Brooke Davis on One Tree Hill and now she’s working on NBC’s Chicago PD, which is the kind of show she always wanted to be on, she said. Bush stated that the realism of the cop drama is what initially pulled her in and got her interested, and filming it feels important, not frivolous, which means a lot to her.

“This is a dream job for me to be working on material that feels so real and so vital, when you talk about that whole notion of protecting and serving,” said Bush. “It feels important. I’m incredibly honored to be wearing the badge after spending so much time with officers and SWAT and the police academy. It very quickly makes you empathize with the people who dedicate their lives to keeping us safe.”
