  • Cassandra Jenner Is Bonding With Caitlyn Over Clothes And Makeup

Cassandra Jenner told Vanity Fair recently that she was never close with her father, Bruce Jenner, while she was growing up. Now that Bruce has officially transitioned to Caitlyn, however, the two are reportedly bonding, and Cassandra says she’s so happy about it.

Cassandra and her siblings–the oldest Jenners–sat down with the magazine for an in-depth interview in the newest issue, which features Caitlyn on the ground-breaking cover. Cassandra confessed that Bruce was a “distant” father in the past.

“I would happily have traded a distant father for a loving, involved mom,” Cassandra said.

Now, she says, she feels Caitlyn is in a better place, which allows her to be happier in all aspects of her life. The two have had fun bonding over “girly” things like makeup and clothes, but Cassandra says she’s excited to get to know Caitlyn as a person in addition to what her style is like.

“My relationship with Caitlyn is much better than with Bruce, but we still have a lot of work to do. We didn’t talk for years, and now we see each other every couple of weeks and talk on the phone, which I am grateful for. She’s happier and more appreciative of her family. She is trying harder and there is a softness to Caitlyn that is new to me. I think part of that is that when someone is happier, they are just nicer….There is so much more to being a woman than our external appearance. I am really looking forward to exploring that more with her,” Cassandra told People.

Since revealing her new look earlier this week, Caitlyn has garnered comparisons to Jessica Lange, who was flattered even though she hadn’t yet seen the Vanity Fair cover.

  • Cassandra Jenner Opens Up About Her “Distant Father”

Caitlyn Jenner–formerly known as Olympic track star and Kardashian stepdad Bruce Jenner–is featured on a newly-released Vanity Fair cover this month and is making headlines across the web with her new look. And while many of Jenner’s family members have openly supported her transition, her older children are speaking out about what it was like to meet Caitlyn for the first time.

Cassandra and Burt Jenner opened up to Vanity Fair about their feelings regarding the change, with Cassandra revealing that she felt Bruce had been a distant father.

“I would happily have traded a distant father for a loving, involved mom,” Cassandra said.

Burt seems to feel the same way, saying, “I have high hopes that Caitlyn is a better person than Bruce.”

Jenner’s stepchildren, who have been very supportive throughout the journey, took to Twitter today to share the Vanity Fair cover and announce to their fans how proud they are of Caitlyn.

After going through a ten-hour surgery for facial reconstruction, Jenner said that she had serious doubts about her decision to transition. The enormity of the change hit her, and then she remembered the struggle of the past several years.

“If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life. You never dealt with yourself,’ and I don’t want that to happen,” Caitlyn said.

  • Caitlyn Jenner: Kendall Jenner, Khloe Kardashian, Kim Kardashian West Tweet Support

Caitlyn Jenner, the new female version of Bruce Jenner, has already received lots of love and support from her family members since the July cover of Vanity Fair–on which she is featured–was revealed earlier on Monday.

Some took to social media while others gave interviews that are featured inside the pages of Vanity Fair.

“I have high hopes that Caitlyn is a better person than Bruce. I’m very much looking forward to that,” Caitlyn Jenner’s son Burt said.

Jenner’s daughter Cassandra said she was part of “girls’ nights” Caitlyn Jenner hosted to help everyone feel comfortable about the transition.

“I was just nervous that I wouldn’t make her feel comfortable,” Cassandra said. “I was worried I wouldn’t say the right things or act the right way or seem relaxed … [but] we talked more than we ever have. We could just be girls together.”

Kendall Jenner, Caitlyn Jenner’s daughter with Kris Jenner, and stepdaughters Khloe Kardashian and Kim Kardashian West shared their support via Twitter.

An hour later, she added this Tweet.

Kendall Jenner also retweeted Caitlyn Jenner’s Tweet that features the Vanity Fair cover.

Khloe Kardashian shared how proud she is of Caitlyn Jenner.

And Kim Kardashian West–the first of Caitlyn Jenner’s kids/stepkids to see Bruce Jenner fully transformed–also shared the cover shot and words of encouragement before asking fans to follow @Caitlin_Jenner on Twitter.

So far Kris Jenner hasn’t shared her thoughts on Caitlyn Jenner’s big reveal–at least not on social media.

Kudos to all these members of Caitlyn Jenner’s family for reaching out to her with both love and support. Not only will this serve her and the entire Jenner-Kardashian family well, it will set an excellent example for other families in which a member is going through what Bruce Jenner experienced.

  • Chrystie Scott, Bruce Jenner’s First Ex-Wife, Lent Support During Diane Sawyer Interview

Chrystie Scott, Bruce Jenner’s first ex-wife, was present when the Keeping Up With the Kardashians patriarch was interviewed by Diane Sawyer on 20/20 Friday night. Scott joined several other family members who surrounded Bruce as the interview aired. She hoped her presence would lend some support.

Bruce Jenner and Chrystie Scott were married from 1972 to 1981, and have two children–Burt and Cassandra Jenner–together.

Chrystie Scott spoke with Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos on Monday about the interview that aired on Friday night.

“I can’t remember the exact words because it was such a shock to me, but he opened up his heart and confessed, and he had to share this deep, dark secret,” she explained of Bruce Jenner during the early years of their marriage. “He told me he wanted to be a woman, and understandably, I didn’t know what to say.”

“It’s so hard to wrap your head around it, particularly because he was such a manly man,” she continued. “He never indicated anything feminine in his demeanor.”

“It broke my heart. I reached over and tried to give him a little comfort,” Chrystie Scott told GMA. “It broke my heart for him. It was sad.”

Despite the tears Bruce Jenner shed, Scott believes the interview was a positive event in his life.

“I think it was cathartic for him,” she says.

“I’m sure there are plenty of people that don’t have the courage to come out at all, ever, and they live private, dark, tortured lives, and that’s tragic,” Chrystie Scott concluded. “That’s just tragic and the fact that he did share it with me that first year, I feel like that was actually a gift he gave to me to trust me with something so intimate.”

Bruce Jenner is fortunate to have the support of two of his ex-wives. In a conversation on The Today Show Monday, Kathie Lee Gifford said Kris Jenner supports him, too. She explained that Jenner is still processing what these other ex-wives have known for years. She and husband Frank Gifford are good friends with both Bruce and Kris Jenner.

Do you expect Kris Jenner will one day come around the way Chrystie Scott and Linda Thompson have, and show her support for Bruce Jenner as well?
