  • Danielle Bradbery, Hunter Hayes Perform at CMA Awards Week Party

Danielle Bradbery won The Voice in 2013, marking the third time one of Blake Shelton’s team members emerged victorious.

This week in Nashville showed fans how far Danielle Bradbery has come since that big win.

On Tuesday, the 19-year-old stunned on the red carpet a the 63rd Annual BMI Country Awards. Later that night she performed with one of the country stars she first sang with as a contestant on The Voice.

Hunter Hayes arrived on The Voice back in 2013 as a huge surprise to Danielle Bradbery. She was both nervous and excited to perform with him as part of the show.

On Tuesday night, Danielle Bradbery sang with both Hunter Hayes and Lauren Alaina. What a difference a couple of years can make in the life of a young country singer.

That wasn’t it for performances this week for Danielle Bradbery, however. She also sang at the 2015 Next Women of Country event, held at the City Winery in Nashville.

On Wednesday, Danielle Bradbery attended yet another big event when she walked the red carpet at the 2015 CMA Awards alongside another of Blake Shelton’s winners on The Voice–Cassadee Pope. Pope won The Voice a year before Danielle Bradbery’s win.

Can you imagine how exciting the past two years have been for Danielle Bradbery? Given the talent this young lady displays at 19, it’s likely these are two of many years to come that will find her in the country music spotlight.

  • Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride Slam Sexist Country Music Radio Station Executive

Miranda Lambert and Martina McBride are just two women in country music both astonished and offended by a remark made by a country music radio station executive this past week.

Keith Hill oversees 300 country music radio stations. He pretty much said during a recent interview for Country Aircheck that country radio needed to “take females out” in order to boost their station’s ratings.

“Trust me, I play great female records and we’ve got some right now; they’re just not the lettuce in our salad,” Hill added. “The lettuce is Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton, Keith Urban and artists like that. The tomatoes of our salad are the females.”

A comment like Keith Hill’s doesn’t take long to spread via social media. Country music fans and artists picked up on it and slammed the exec for his sexist comment and his stupidity.

    Miranda Lambert is disgusted.

Martina McBride shares Miranda Lambert’s dismay, and posted her thoughts on Facebook.

Wow…..just wow. Just read this from a major country radio publication. How do you feel about this statement? I…

And to further prove that Keith Hill is completely off his rocker with his most unfortunate comment, Shane McAnally stood up for the ladies of country music, too.

Wouldn’t you love to hear what Miranda Lambert’s husband–Blake Shelton–has to say about this? He not only supports his wife, but promotes adding women to the country music world. Just look at the young women he has mentored via The Voice–Danielle Bradbury and Cassadee Pope.

In Miranda Lambert and Martina McBride’s eyes, it’s on. It will be interesting to learn what–if anything–Keith Hill says about women in country music during his next interview.

It seems a few ‘tomatoes’ have been thrown in his direction–with more likely to come.

  • Cassadee Pope: The Voice Winner in New Faces Show

Cassadee Pope played in the New Faces Show as part of Country Radio Seminar Week in Nashville on Friday night. It wasn’t so long ago that the season 3 winner of The Voice was watching from the audience and wishing she would one day be up on the stage.

“I was sitting next to Scott Borchetta and telling him I wanted to be up there someday.” Pope recalls. “He turned to me and said ‘Just wait. You’ll be up there next year.’ I kind of giggled and just figured that wouldn’t be enough time to get out there and get everyone’s support, but after a year of touring with Rascal Flatts, and visiting radio, it came true.”

“It’s an honor to know they voted for me, and want me to be there. So, I’m going to deliver the best I can,” she added.

Cassadee Pope’s first single Wasting All My Tears was a huge hit, and it helped her cross over to the Top 40 on the Hot 100 as well.

“There’s no way I could have imagined all of this,” she said. “I knew I was going to be releasing my single, but I had no idea the amount of attention it would get or that radio would be so supportive. A lot of that has to do with me getting out there, and visiting the stations on the road.”

Pope knows that her relationship with the radio world is indeed a 2-way street.

“It’s really important because country radio invests so much of their time. It’s an emotional thing. It binds you together with people at radio. That’s what I love so much about this format – the emotion. It’s not a robotic process or procedure. You become attached to each other. In order to create that relationship, you have to go out there and meet everybody and prove to them that it’s a team effort. It’s not just them giving you a career. It goes both ways. It puts the emotion into the music, and that’s a great thing.”

Cassadee clearly had a blast during her time at the New Faces Show. Check out the Instagram photo she shared, captioned “Me & these silly men. Such great company at New Faces!”

Cassadee Pope’s coach on The Voice, Blake Shelton, must be so incredibly proud of the success she has achieved. He knew she was talented and he nurtured that talent for all it was worth while coaching her during her time on the show. Her God-given talent, along with Shelton’s help, has brought her to where she is now. And she’s only started to make her climb to the top.
